Yesterday we saw photos of 20-year old underwear model Justin Gaston spending some quality bike-riding time with 8-year old Noah Cyrus (Miley‘s youngest sister) which I found an odd pairing but today things appear to be back to normal. Well, as normal as a 20-year old man hanging out with a 15-year old girl can be. Miley Cyrus has returned to SoCal after a quick trip to London, England over the weekend and made a beeline to an ice cream shop in Beverly Hills, CA bringing along her 20-year old friend Justin Gaston. Justin was snapped trying to feed some ice cream to Miley in the backseat of their car as they drove away from the shop but Miley didn’t seem to keen on what he was trying to feed to her:

I mean, the couple says that they are “just friends” but … I dunno. They look awfully couply to me. It should be reiterated that both Cyrus parents have put their stamp of approval on this relationship, whatever it is. I guess, in the end, if her parents are cool with this relationship then there really is no problem here. Even still … doesn’t the whole thing strike you as really weird tho?

Miley Cyrus celebrated her sweet 16 birthday at Disneyland last night by hosting a party at the park for friends, family and members of the public who wanted to shell out $250 for the privilege (a portion of the cost is being donated to Miley‘s favorite charity). After participating in a parade around the park, Miley took to the stage to perform for the crowd in celebration of turning the big 1-6 … which doesn’t actually happen until November 23 (but who’s counting?). Here are a few pics from Miley‘s early birthday celebration at Disneyland last night:

Sweet sixteen? Not just yet … But Miley Cyrus – who turns 16 on Nov. 23 – got an early jump on her birthday celebration Sunday night with a special bash at Disneyland. “They say it’s the happiest place on Earth,” she said of the themepark, which was shut down exclusively for her. The evening started with Cyrus and pals like Tyra Banks, David Archuleta and Demi Lovato strolling down a large purple carpet. Cyrus’s new beau, Justin Gaston, avoided the carpet crush – but he emerged onstage to help open up for the Hannah Montana star. The guitar playing Gaston joined Cyrus’s dad, Billy Ray, and older sis Brandi to sing “Achy Breaky Heart.” “This is the most amazing sweet 16 that a girl could have!” Cyrus boasted as she stepped on stage to perform. According to Disney, the teen sensation also received a surprise birthday gift from her parents: A new dog! The Maltipoo –] a cross between a Maltese and a poodle – is named Sophie, said the rep, after a dog owned by her late grandfather. Later, Gaston looked on adoringly while the large crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to Cyrus. The Disney star – who calls the budding relationship “great” – then pulled him in close while they watched the fireworks finale. With the stroke of midnight looming, the pop singer was still raring to go. “Its been a long night,” she said, “but I’m still ready to party and ride some rides!”

I mean, how else would Disney‘s cash cow golden child celebrate her 16th birthday if not at Disneyland? My friends and I spent our weekend at Disneyland and were inundated with all the signs and decorations going up for her party. Needless to say, we did not shell out the big bucks to party with Miley last night … instead, we went over to California Adventure and rode the rides there. I think it’s plainly obvious that Miley is quickly outgrowing her Disneyness so it would make sense that the company is trying to capitalize on her while they still can. I’m sure there won’t be many Disneyland birthdays in her future from here on out … so I hope she made it a good one.

For some strange reason, Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston have a strange love affair going on … with Universal Studios. Ever since the couple started “hanging out” together (ie. going out on dates) the pair have spent pretty much every waking hour at Universal Studios … I thought Miley worked for Walt Disney? In any event, the last time we saw Miley and Justin (who I’ve decided to dub Jiley) at Universal they were being chaperoned by her mother Tish Cyrus. This time around, papa Billy Ray Cyrus tagged along for the chaperoning duties … behold:

I mean, I get why these two would want to hook-up — she’s an insanely rich up-and-coming starlet and he’s just really effin’ hot (and age difference be damned). What I don’t get is the fascination with Universal Studios. No offense to the folks at Universal but the park and CityWalk aren’t all that great. I much prefer Disneyland for amusement and someplace like Century City for outdoor eating, shopping, hanging out. But, I guess if you want to accidentally run into Jiley on one of their dates you now know where to go. Make sure you say HI for me.

Last week it was revealed that Miley Cyrus and underwear model Justin Gaston were hookin’-up (tho Miley insists the pair are “just friends”) … and it looks like whatever it is that they’re doing together is still happening. Here are new pics of Miley and Justin (Mistin? Jiley?) out together for a night on the town at Universal Studios CityWalk with mama Tish Cyrus acting as chaperone:

Just friends my booty but … whatevs. He’s an ubercutie, I don’t blame Miss Cyrus one bit for wanting to hang out with this cutiepie. Incidentally, as an update to THIS post on Miley‘s alleged desire to end her run on the Disney series Hannah Montana, Cyrus herself tells People magazine that she is “fully committed to Hannah Montana” … uh huh:

Hannah Montana fans can release a collective sigh of relief: Despite reports of an early exit, teen superstar Miley Cyrus says she isn’t retiring her blonde wig anytime soon. “I am fully committed to Hannah Montana. It’s what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach out to so many people,” Cyrus tells PEOPLE, adding, “I couldn’t do it alone. We have an amazing cast that is so supportive, including my dad who has been there for me every step of the way.” … A Disney Channel rep calls talk of on-set squabbles “just gossip,” while a source close to Miley Cyrus says: “It’s a lot of craziness. Miley is really devoted to the show and she’s really upset by the gossip,” continues the source. “Miley is never late to work. Every minute of her day is planned out. When she’s not shooting the movie or the series, she’s recording the [Hannah Montana] soundtrack. She has a lot invested in Hannah Montana. It’s not going away any time soon.” On set “they’re like a big family,” says the source. “Emily and Miley are like sisters. Occasionally they have disagreements but they make up and they never let it effect their work.”

Well of course Disney is gonna make sure that they paint a perfect picture regarding their relationship with Miley Cyrus. I kinda don’t believe this kumbaya lovefest that they’re trying to peddle but … I guess we’ll see. Why is it that Miley Cyrus tends to draw the biggest attention over the most non-issues in Hollywood? First it was that Vanity Fair thing and now this … man, it really looks like she’s gonna have a very long career in Tinsel Town.

Could it be that Miley Cyrus has finally outgrown her professional relationship with Disney and is ready to put say Peace the Spork Out to the Hannah Montana role that made her a star? Well, according to a new report, both Miley and her daddums Billy Ray Cyrus are doing everything they can to get out of finishing the eps for this last season of the show as quickly as they can (ie. before the actual end of the season) much to Disney‘s chagrin. Interestingly enough, there is another new report that claims that Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell is lookin’ to sign Miley up to play a young Carrie Bradshaw in a proposed “young adult” prequel series to SaTC … so basically, we’ve got good news/bad news sitch on our hands:

TMZ has learned Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus want off “Hannah Montana,” and their conduct has triggered a war on the set. Our spies on the set tell us Miley has bragged that she will get fired, making it clear she wants to focus on singing and not the show. For his part, Billy Ray has also made it clear that there is more money in singing than a Disney cable show. As a result, the father-daughter team has been showing up to the set ridiculously late, stalling production and infuriating cast and crew … Sources tell us Billy Ray has told people on the set that he and Miley will do 12 more episodes and then they are out. Disney was so pissed they called his agent, railing that Billy Ray and Miley were ingrates. Disney insisted that Billy Ray and Miley not only finish the 24 episode season — but Disney was adding six more episodes.

And now for the bad news:

Candace Bushnell, the creator of the smash TV series and movie Sex And The City, has suggested that Miley Cyrus play the role of a young Carrie Bradshaw in her planned prequel series. Currently working on a pair of novels focusing on ‘young’ Carrie’s time in high school, Bushnell has revealed that the teenage Carrie, “…did not follow the crowd – she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene.” She added that Cyrus could be perfect playing the teenage Carrie, who has been played as an adult by Sarah Jessica Parker in the TV series and on the big screen. Miley herself appears to be very keen on the role, telling TV Guide earlier in the year, “I’d love to do a younger, cleaner version of Sex And The City.”

While I wouldn’t mind very much if the Hannah Montana character died a quick and painful death, I am aghast that this Sex and the City prequel bullshizz is even being discussed. I’m not sure how valid this report is necessarily but I personally think a sanitized, young adult version of the show would be SO STUPID. WTF are they thinking? The whole idea is bad enough but casting Miley Cyrus, are they seriously out of their freakin’ minds? I really hope this wild talk is a total fabrication … I’m not sure my frail little heart could survive what I think would be the total decimation of SaTC. Please gods, let this never happen … please. What do y’all think … does any of this sound like a good idea to any of y’all?

Earlier this week, we saw a few photos of Miley Cyrus and hottie underwear model Justin Gaston spending some time together in Pasadena, CA last weekend (the pair and the Cyrus family attended some sort of church service together) and yesterday we got denials that two are dating (we were told that Miley and Justin are “just friends”) … but Hollywood.tv stumbled upon Miley and Justin (Mustin? Jiley?) and some friends (I think her alterna-rocker half brother Trace was with them as well but it’s hard to tell) at the Universal Citywalk in LA together last night … you know, hangin’ out:

Surely “just friends” go to the Citywalk to hang out and stuff but … I’m having a hard time understanding why a 20-year old guy would want to be “just friends” with a 15-year old girl he’s not romantically interested in (and, EW!). I dunno … this video looks very double-datey to me … what do y’all think?

I understand that Miley‘s parents are totally cool with 20-year old Justin being “friends” (or whatever) with their 15-year old daughter (Billy Ray introduced them or something) … these are the same parents that OKed that infamous Vanity Fair photo in the first place and then bitched about it after the controversy got going … I’m just sayin’.

Miley Cyrus has decided to celebrate her Super Sweet 16th birthday party at the Happiest Place on Earth — Disneyland! Miley will be be hosting her Disneyland birthday on October 5th, the very same day that Disneyland Gay Days will be in full swing. A coincidence? I think not:

The world’s most popular teenager, Miley Cyrus, will celebrate her 16th birthday at the Disneyland resort in Anaheim, Calif., on October 5, the same time Gay Days takes place. The 11th annual Gay Days event, which attracted 30,000 gays and lesbians to the park last year, actually takes place October 3-5. Gay Days describes itself as a “mix-in with straight parkgoers,” where the LGBT crowd wears red shirts. Gay Days is not Disney-sponsored, so park operators will not have official regulation over the event. Cyrus will celebrate her birthday with 5,000 fans, including volunteers from Youth Service America on October 5. “I only turn 16 once, so it’s going to be an awesome party with my favorite rides, hanging out with friends, fireworks, and more,” she said in a press release on Thursday. “I’ll even get to sing a couple songs.” Cyrus’s event promises fireworks, music, and a celebration for the youth volunteers.

HMMM … I wonder if Billy Ray Cyrus knows about this.

In an interview that was broadcast on Good Morning America this morning, while promoting the release of her new album Breakout and her latest Hannah Montana movie, Miley Cyrus addressed (again) the controversy that ensued after she appeared in the June issue of Vanity Fair magazine exposing her bare back. Miley admitted that the photo was a “mistake” and came about as a result of “trying to get things done, and maybe look for an older audience”:

Teen pop sensation Miley Cyrus is stepping back into the spotlight, promoting her new album “Breakout” and calling the provocative photos of her published in June’s Vanity Fair magazine a “mistake.” The revealing photos caused an uproar and threatened to tarnish the 15-year-old’s squeaky-clean image when they were released back in April. “I think I was just in a stage where I was just trying to get things done, and maybe look for an older audience. I was working with a big magazine just trying to go with what they were saying,” Cyrus told “Good Morning America’s” Robin Roberts, speaking in an exclusive interview for the first time since the Vanity Fair photo shoot. Cyrus described the ensuing criticism that she faced as a “hard time,” and said she now “knows what it’s like to have people talk about you like you’re kind of iron. People need to remember that I am young and that I do have feelings, and I’ll do the same thing for them. Anyone who was 15 years old can’t say they haven’t made a mistake. So I think it’s just normal,” she said.

It’s interesting that she would bring up this issue again after it caused her so much pain and embarrassment a couple of months ago … but, when you’re promoting an album, well, I guess you do what you can to get the job done. My criticism of the whole thing wasn’t that Miley was a bad person or even that the photo was too risqué … I have a hard time with the fact that both of her parents were at the photoshoot with her (her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, even appeared in a photo with her), that they had no problem with the pose or the photo when it was shot and then immediately tried to place the blame solely on the magazine and photographer Annie Leibovitz once Miley‘s conservative fanbase became outraged. And now, the Miley Cyrus promo machine has no problem trudging up the controversy for their own promotion. See, the girl may be 15 and she may make mistakes as we all do but she’s also pretty savvy for the Entertainment biz — no publicity is bad publicity. At least she finally took on the blame for the VF photo fallout … it’s convenient that she is doing so now while she’s trying to sell albums, tho.

The London branch of Madame Tussauds’ Wax Museum unveiled a new wax statue of Miley Cyrus this week which looks scarily lifelike. The London Madam Tussauds’ tends to commission the best-looking wax statues of many of the other branches of the museum (the NYC branch has a creepy lookin’ Miley statue). Here are a couple pics of the new Miley wax statue and a couple pics of the real Miley Cyrus (taken on the Malibu, CA set of Hanna Montana which is currently being filmed) for comparison:

In this instance, I think I prefer the fake Miley to the real Miley (not that I really have strong feelings about Miley Cyrus in general, but you see what I’m saying). The resemblance is pretty uncanny.
