A year ago yesterday popstar/actress Hilary Duff got herself hitched to hockey-playing stud Mike Comrie and in celebration of the couple’s one year wedding anniversary, Hil D. made a very special announcement on her official website. According to Hilary herself, she and hubby Mike are pregnant with their first child! As you may recall, back in January there was a rumor going around that Hilary was pregs back then … but it looks like that report was a bit premature. Earlier this month we learned that our dear Britney Spears would be taking a night off from her furious rehearsals for the upcoming Femme Fatale Tour (due to kick off in just a few weeks) to host an event called An Evening of Southern Style to benefit the St. Bernard Project which continues to help Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Britney looked ABSOLUTELY STUNNING at last night’s event and she was joined by her loverman Jason Trawick as well as a host of other celebs who showed up to offer their support. Congratulations are, reportedly, in order for happily-marrieds Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie because according to a new report out today, the couple are PREGS with their first child! Now, before you start passing around the cigars, I have to make clear that there is only one media outlet reporting the news (HMMMM) and that sole media outlet is Star magazine (Erm …) so I suggest y’all take this happy news with a grain of salt ;)

Last Thursday we learned from In Touch Weekly magazine that popstar/actress Hilary Duff was planning to marry her hockey-playing fiancee Mike Comrie in Santa Barbara, CA on Saturday evening … it turns out that they were 100% correct as Hila-rie actually did marry in SB on Saturday night! It’s official, y’all … Hilary and Mike got hitched!

Mike Comrie and Hilary Duff are now officially husband and wife. The actress, 22, and Canadian hockey player, 29, were married Saturday during an intimate ceremony in Santa Barbara, Calif. The couple exchanged vows at the Mediterranean Villa La Quinta around 8 p.m under an arch of flowers and in front of about 100 guests. “Mike held his arm around Hilary for most of the romantic, candlelit ceremony, and they both looked extremely happy,” says an eyewitness. The newlyweds spent their wedding night at the nearby historic San Ysidro Ranch … Comrie proposed during a Hawaiian getaway in February – a move that came as a pleasant surprise to both Duff and her family. “I’ve never met anyone who can say a bad word about him,” Duff gushed in March 2009. “He’s generous, caring and sunny. We just laugh our heads off.”

Yay!! This is fantastic news. Rumor has it that the very enfianced Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie are planning to get hitched in Santa Barbara, CA this weekend … this, according to In Touch Weekly magazine. Now, these sorts of rumors oftentimes turn out to be false but there has been a lot of wedding chatter where Hila-rie are concerned and ITW really seems certain that the nuptials are going to take place this weekend in SB. In Touch can exclusively reveal that Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie are set to tie the knot this weekend at the beautiful San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif. The couple, who got engaged in Hawaii in February, chose the ranch where the late President John F. Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline, spent their honeymoon for “its sense of Old Hollywood glamour and romantic style,” an insider tells In Touch. Hilary, 22, has been getting ready for her big day by working out six days a week, as well as taking dance lessons with her fiancé, Mike, 29. The pro hockey player presented his love with a $1 million engagement ring, and a source close to Mike tells In Touch, “No detail is going to be spared for their big day.”

To be honest, based on all the talk going around, this report sounds about right. The couple have been doing things that have been hinting at the planning of a wedding and the time and location sound about right. Whether or not the couple get hitched this weekend in Santa Barbara, they are deffo putting together a wedding ceremony to take place sometime soon. I guess we’ll find out very soon if In Touch are right about this … I, for one, would love to see these two say their I Dos sooner (like this weekend) rather than later.

First we learned the happy news that Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie got engaged, then we saw just how appreciative Hilary was to Mike for the lovely ring he gave her. Today we learn how much Comrie dropped on that ring for his new fiancée … and he dropped quite a lot of dough. Hilary and Mike have already made their way back to SoCal from their Hawaiian holiday (where the couple got engaged) and made a very public stop at Katsuya in Hollywood, CA for a coming out party of sorts. The source tells us that Comrie bought the14-karat princess-cut sparkler in Las Vegas. After two years of dating, Comrie popped the question while he and Duff were on a recent vacation in Hawaii. A wedding isn’t the only thing these two have in the works. Our source also tells us the pair are close to buying a $10 million home in Beverly Hills. (While he probably takes home a nice paycheck from the Oilers, Comrie also happens to be an heir to Canadian home furnishings retail empire, The Brick.) A rep for Duff declined to comment. Yowza!! Yeah, we knew that Mike was very generous with Hilary and this phat ring is further proof of that generosity. I’ve always liked these two as a couple and I am thrilled for them. Tho, I’m actually very surprised how flashy Hilary was with her ring last night … considering she did everything she could to hide it when Hila-rie were departing Hawaii after their vacay. Hilary was well aware of the paparazzi presence at the airport as the couple tried to leave so she did her best to try and hide the big, fat diamond she was wearing on her finger … apparently, Hilary was feeling more shy at the airport than she was on the balcony of the couple’s hotel.
