The "Fittest Guy in Hollywood"
Jake Gyllenhaal Does ‘Men’s Journal’ Magazine

Jake Gyllenhaal, who is having a bit of trouble going to the bathroom in Austin, TX at South By Southwest without someone trying to take a photo of him “midstream”, is featured on the cover of the new issue of Men’s Journal magazine. Described as the “Fittest Guy in Hollywood”, our dear Jakey Poo talks to the magazine about how the “cardio monster” likes to keep fit … and from the sound of it, Jake likes to work out very intensely. "People are so stupid. They’re like sheep."
Jason Statham Does ‘Men’s Journal’ Magazine

Action movie star Jason Statham, who can be seen in The Mechanic in theaters this Friday, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Men’s Journal magazine. In his coverstory interview, Statham expresses his distaste for fake stunts in films & John Mayer‘s fake watch … and he offers no info at all about his relationship with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. But he does pose for a few fun pub photos so, there’s that.

"I consider myself a pain-in-the-ass artist self-aware enough to be tolerable."
Robert Downey, Jr. Does ‘Men’s Journal’ Magazine

Robert Downey, Jr., who will be starring as Tony Stark/Iron Man in next month’s sequel film Iron Man 2, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Men’s Journal magazine. In this new issue, RDJ talks about his recent acting experiences as Sherlock Holmes and, naturally, talks a bit about stepping back into the Iron Man costume. Here is our first look at RDJ on the cover of Men’s Journal and some excerpts from his coverstory interview:

On advice for practicing Wing Chun, a martial arts discipline: “Seriously, don’t worry about looking like an idiot. It’s like life: The less self-conscious you are, the better it works. And remember, lots of ice and Advil afterward. Trust me on that one.”

On how Wing Chun helps him cope: “This is all about focus. Wing Chun teaches you what to concentrate on, whether you’re here or out in the world dealing with problems. It’s second nature for me now. I don’t even get to the point where there’s a problem.”

On being reluctant to punch a stuntman full in the mouth while filming Sherlock Holmes: “I was like, ‘I can’t or he’s not going to be able to play with his kids this weekend.’ And Guy (Ritchie) was basically saying, ‘He doesn’t have any kids.’ ”

On if he is worried about burnout from filming and promoting films: “You don’t worry about something that has already happened,” he says with resignation. “You don’t need to worry about your car breaking down when you’re already on the side of the street with the hood up. Worrying is done. The hubcaps have already come off going around the corners.”

On being an actor: “This is still art for commerce, at best. I consider myself to be a pain-in-the-ass artist who’s self-aware enough to still be tolerable. While I have a little bit of juice, I try not to rub it in anyone’s face, because it’s just disgusting. And I use the term ‘artist’ loosely.”

I have to say, RDJ is prolly my favorite actor right now. I know a lot of people are all ga-ga over Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt but I think I prefer Robert Downey, Jr. over all other actors. He can play serious, he can play funny … he can play seriously funny … and make it all seem totally effortless. If you think back to his troubled days in the 90′s, it’s amazing how well he’s turned his life around … I like that he is flawed and still very successful. He is the only person alive who could ever bring Tony Stark to life and I can’t WAIT to see him in Iron Man 2 next month! After the jump, check out a few photos from RDJ‘s Men’s Journal photospread and read a few quotes from some of his compatriots about RDJ‘s acting style …

"I'm not a big relationship guy."
Gerard Butler Does ‘Men’s Journal’ Magazine

Cheeky cad du jour, Gerard Butler, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Men’s Journal magazine. In his coverstory interview, Gerry intimates that he doesn’t get as much tail as he used to and makes a joke about trimming Jennifer Aniston‘s bush … natch. Here is our first look at Gerard‘s Men’s Journal coverphoto and some excerpts from his accompanying interview:

On getting laid: “I think I get laid less now than I used to, because I’m way more paranoid now – look at fucking Tiger Woods! I mean, I’m nowhere near as naughty as I used to be, partly because I did a lot of that when I was drinking.”

On his commitment problems: “In the last five years since coming out here, I’ve had two relationships. I’m not a big relationship guy. One of my vices is, I’m too wrapped up in myself and not always in a good way.”

On holiday fun with Jennifer Aniston: “Over Christmas she had a tree-trimming party that I went to. Yeah, I trimmed her bush… Shit. Please don’t put that in.”

On his anxiety addiction: “I was born into a world of anxiety… I am slightly addicted to anxiety. When I’m feeling anxious, I’ll create more anxiety for myself. Like I might call all these people about what’s fun to do tonight and end up with four different options, which in itself would put me into a blind panic; but then I’ll make another four calls just to make it 10 times more anxiety-ridden.”

I can’t say that I have much respect for a man that idolizes Tiger Woods‘s cheating ways … but I guess I have to give him props for the Aniston bush joke ;) I wonder if Gerard Butler keeps talking about Jennifer Aniston in interviews he’ll pull a John Mayer and piss her off entirely too … he strikes me as the kind of guy who is about 2 beers from kissing and telling all. I can’t say I’m too interested to read this whole interview in Men’s Journal … this taste is enough for me.

Plus, advice from the father of 'Surfer Dude'
Matthew McConaughey Does ‘Men’s Journal’ Magazine

Matthew McConaughey is featured on the cover of the new issue of Men’s Journal magazine and in his coverstory interview, Matthew talks about his ramblin’ ways, the things he’s learned along the way and shares some of the poignant and important advice offered to him by his father. Here is Matthew‘s Men’s Journal coverphoto and that bit o’ advice he learned from his pappy:

His dad’s advice for how to handle women:
“Now, you’re getting to the age where you’re gonna start messing around with girls,” he says. “So here’s what you’ve got to follow. You’re going to get close, you’re going to get intimate, whatever. If you ever make a move, whether it’s for a kiss or touching her down there, and you feel the slightest bit of resistance, stop. A lot of times, after you stop, they’re going to then say, now it’s okay. Don’t. That time, that day, that’s as far as you go.”

On taking his dad’s advice:
“It’s a great lesson,” McConaughey says. “You do that, and you know what? Women do come back. They say, what? Nobody stops! They want to go out with you again. And eventually you don’t have to stop.”

Aww … now that’s advice you can take to the bank. After the jump, check out one more photo of Matthew from his issue of Men’s Journal and read a bit more of his chat with the mag …
