Earlier this month we learned of an exciting rumor that maintained that the Spice Girls are planning to reunite this year for a performance at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Today we are hearing more about the supposed Spice Girls reunion but according to Melanie Scary Spice Brown, the Spices are actually planning to reunite this Summer for Queen Elizabeth II‘s Diamond Jubilee celebration … not for the London Olympic Games. Keep in in mind, none of this information has been confirmed but … if Mel B. is blabbing about a Spice Girls reunion, it’s possible it might actually happen.

Yay!! The Spice Girls met up for an impromptu reunion dinner in London, England last night and caused quite a stir with the paparazzi. Smiling and obvs very giddy to be reunited together again, Geri Ginger Spice Halliwell, Melanie Scary Spice Brown, Melanie Sporty Spice Chisholm and Emma Baby Spice Bunton convened at the Palm restaurant in London’s Knightsbridge for dinner and then made their way to a hotel in Mayfair for after-dinner drinks. The entire night was perfect … except for the fact that the 5th Spice, Victoria Posh Spice Beckham, was not included. I wonder if her exclusion was intentional? Girl Power was in the air last night as Geri Halliwell led an impromptu Spice Girls reunion in London. Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Emma Bunton were in high spirits as they joined Ginger Spice over dinner at the Palm restaurant in London’s Knightsbridge before heading to Mayfair Hotel for more refreshments. But there was one noticeable absence from the party – fifth member of the former group, Victoria Beckham. While we presume she did receive an invite to the gathering, Posh Spice apparently found it impossible to fit it into her busy schedule. She is back in Los Angeles after a triumphant visit to New York Fashion Week, where she unveiled her DVB spring/summer 2010 collection. The band certainly didn’t let Victoria’s absence get them down as they giggled and gossiped just like old times. In fact she hasn’t been present at any of their catch ups since their reunion tour in 2007. There were persistent rumours of tension between the group during their string of concerts. But Posh later dismissed the reports, saying: ‘Things get made up all the time. You know, of course we argued. But, you know it’s been great.’

While it is true that Vicki B. was bizzy here in the States this week and simply couldn’t just fly off to London for dinner with her former bandmates, it is also true that she was just recently in London … and if the other Spices really wanted to all reunite with her they could’ve scheduled dinner when she was in town. HMMMMM. It’s hard to swallow that the 4 Spice Girls just randomly decided to get together for dinner last night, just a week or so after VB left town. Considering that Victoria has already made her way to LA, it kinda does seem like this impromptu reunion was scheduled at the perfect time … when VB was on the other side of the planet.

Scary Spice Melanie Brown was anything but scary when she showed up poolside with her hubby Stephen Belafonte in Beverly Hills, CA this weekend. The popstar-turned-burlesque-performer was seen at the Peninsula Hotel over the weekend taking a short break from her Las Vegas revue show Peepshow which is currently running at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino … clearly, Miss Thang was interested in showing off her hot bod … check it out:

Stunning Mel B looked relaxed and carefree as she cavorted in the sunshine with her husband Stephen Belafonte. The former Spice Girl showed she was in great shape as the pair frolicked by the poolside of the Peninsula Hotel, in Beverley Hills, Los Angeles. The 33-year-old is on a break from her Las Vegas burlesque revue Peepshow but the impact of the dancing regime was clear from her toned figure. Husband Stephen helped her to make sure she had not missed any spots with the suncream before Mel slipped out of her four inch platforms ready for a dip. The pair gazed lovingly into each others’ eyes as they enjoyed a quick cuddle while they splashed around in the sun-dappled water. And Stephen did not waste the opportunity to admire his wife’s figure, taking a cheeky glance at her backside as she climbed back out of the pool.

Damn! Mel B. looks amazing! I can see why producers in Vegas were very interested in getting her to star in their new Peepshow … I don’t think she’s ever looked better. You gotta love that Mel B. is proud to show off all of her hard work. A body like that should be on display … you work it, Mel B. I think it’s safe to say that she is hottest of the Spice Girls, no?

Last month we learned that Spice Girl Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, would be appearing in a Las Vegas, NV burlesque show called Peep Show inside the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino and last night the world got its first look at a special preview of the spectacle. While Mel B. did not appear topless on stage as her backup dancer showgirls did, she did appear on stage in a very sexy, tho completely covered, outfit to wow the crowd. Here are a few deets from the opening night of Peep Show:

Back in the day it was all about Girl Power. Now it is all about wearing very little, leaving even less to the imagination and watching the dollars roll in. Cavorting with bare-chested male dancers and shimmying with female co-stars the former Spice Girl Mel B last night presented her burlesque act Peepshow in Las Vegas. And although Leeds-born Mel didn’t go topless in the show, some of her fellow dancers did. She described the performance as “scantily clad, but in a classy way”. With the rise of artists such as Dita Von Teese, burlesque has become a high-profile form of entertainment, even considered an art form. How pouring pink paint onto a man tied to a bed fits in with this is open debate but the former Scary Spice clearly enjoyed her role as a saucy striptease artist. At the show in the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Mel B – whose full name is Melanie Brown – donned a range of increasingly provocative outfits. The preview performance was not without incident, and a fire alarm was set off during the first song. Despite this, the singer was given a standing ovation at the end of the show. Mel B stars as Peep Diva, described as “a bold and powerful woman with all the answers”, who acts as the mistress of ceremonies. She guides the timid Bo Peep, played by American TV starlet Kelly Monaco, on a journey of self-discovery and sexual awakening. Kelly’s character blossoms into a “sexy, daring, provocative and more confident woman” with Mel’s expert help. The former Spice Girl said of her new role: “Because I’m coming out as a solo artist next year, I feel this show is putting me back in an arena that I’m most comfortable in and love doing most, which is performing and entertaining on stage.” Mel added: “This is an original show. This part is great for me.”

LMAO! I love that this show has an actual storyline that the audience is meant to follow. Um, it’s burlesque … I think the only storyline the audience wants to follow is how long it takes for the clothes to start coming off. Earlier today we got our first look at Spice Girl Mel C‘s newborn babygirl Scarlet Starr and right now we get to see Spice Girl Me B‘s latest baby … an upcoming Las Vegas project where she’ll be featured in the new burlesque show Peep Show which will open at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino later this year. Clad in her underwear, smouldering against the velvet curtains, Mel B has replaced her alter ego Scary Spice with a new one – Peep Diva. The former Spice Girl is set to make her debut on the Las Vegas stage later this month as Peep Diva in the burlesque Peep Show. Although there will be topless dancers in the show, Mel B will be keeping her curves under wraps, describing her costume as “scantily clad, but in a classy way”. Mel B’s character is described as “a bold and powerful woman with all the answers” who guides the timid character of Bo on a swift journey of “awakening and self-discovery”. And the mother-of-two has shown off some of her burlesque moves in a photoshoot for underwear range Ultimo. She said: “Burlesque is all about embracing and celebrating your body. A girl’s gotta have great lingerie, but it’s also all about the wink and the tease that goes with it! Modeling lingerie is really empowering and it was fantastic to get in character for the shoot and strut my stuff.” Mel B’s previous shoots for Ultimo have raised suggestions that the shots have been airbrushed. But the latest photos appeared entirely natural, with her curves and tattoos on display. She wears a series of underwear sets, teamed with vintage accessories. Michelle Mone, creator of Ultimo, said: “We wanted to recreate the classic bombshell look of burlesque legends like Betty Page and Gypsy Rose Lee, full of curves and glamour. Mel B did an astounding job and really got into the spirit of the shoot. The UK has a real heritage of burlesque, so we wanted to celebrate this and encourage women to find their own alter-ego.”

Methinks that current reigning Burlesque Queen Dita Von Teese has got nothing to worry about from Ms. B. That said, I think it’s great that the Scary One is getting her own Vegas show. I always believed that Mel B. got ROBBED on her season of Dancing with the Stars. She deffo should’ve won and prolly would have won if she hadn’t had a commitment to the Spice Girls Reunion Tour. My guts told me that because Mel B. had to tour with the Spices, she was not crowned the DWTS crown because, if she had, she would not have been able to do the DWTS Tour. But that is all water under the bridge … at last, Mel B. will get her time in the spotlight. While it’s not particularly my sort of thing, I wish her much success. It’s not too far a stretch, I think, to go from Spice Girl to Peep Diva. I mean, who’d notice the difference?

Melanie Brown, the artist formerly known as Scary Spice, is venturing into Sporty Spice territory with the release of her new work-out video titled Totally Fit: Mel B. Due to hit stores on Boxing Day in the UK (December 26), Mel‘s new work-out video is her latest attempt to stay relevant in the minds of those who may be losing interest in her since the end of the Spice Girls Reunion Tour early this year and her stint on Dancing with the Stars before that. No question, Mel B. looks sensational in these screencaps. It would appear that if you want to look as good as Mel B. does, all you have to do is follow her 23-day work-out plan to get “totally fit”. I’m not sure how well this work-out DVD will fare in the UK but I don’t suppose it has the same chance of success (if any) here in the US. At best, folks on this side of the pond remember her most recently from Dancing with the Stars but I don’t really think that she has enough recognition to sell these sorts of DVDs here in the States. Her most recent attempt to capture the hearts of Americans came in the form of the very short-lived series The Singing Office which aired briefly on TLC early in the Summer.
