Mostly to 'Twilight' but some other folks got awards, too.
The 2009 MTV Movie Awards Are Handed Out

Clearly, the folks who voted for the 2009 MTV Movie Awards were BIG Twilight fans because they chose to heap numerous awards on the film and its actors over bigger movie blockbusters like Batman: The Dark Knight and the Academy Award winning film Slumdog Millionaire. The show should’ve been renamed the 2009 MTV Twilight Awards cuz, really, that’s what the whole thing turned out to be. Here are a few pics of some of the red carpet arrivals at the Gibson Amphitheater at Universal Studios in Hollywood, CA, a run-down of what went down last night and some pics from the show itself:

The MTV Movie Awards were a blood bath Sunday night with “Twilight” taking five trophies, including best movie. But it was Sacha Baron Cohen who gave the show its trademark bizarro moment when he landed upside-down on the lap of Eminem, who may or may not have been deeply offended. “Twilight,” the popular vampire drama starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, sucked up golden popcorn trophies for best movie, best fight, best kiss, breakthrough male performance and female performance during Sunday’s freewheeling and often-bleeped ceremony at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif. “The fans are the ultimate driving force,” Stewart said while accepting her best female performance trophy (which she promptly dropped on the floor, breaking off a chunk of the golden popcorn). Awards were decided by fan votes. Other winners included “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” star Zac Efron for male performance and his co-star Ashley Tisdale for female breakthrough performance. Miley Cyrus accepted the best song from a movie prize for “The Climb” from “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” preventing “Twilight” from sweeping all six nominated categories. An award new to this year, the “WTF moment,” went to Amy Poehler’s scene in “Baby Mama” where she urinates in a sink. But even that was upstaged by Baron Cohen, who flew in on a wire, hanging above the audience. Dressed as flamboyant character “Bruno” in a pair of feathery white wings and his rear end mostly exposed, the comedian crashed into an overhead obstacle and was lowered headfirst into the lap of Eminem, his bare hindquarters in the rapper’s face. “Is the real Slim Shady about to stand up?” chirped Baron Cohen. Eminem seemed visibly upset by the encounter, and members of his entourage roughly removed Baron Cohen as the rapper struggled to get out. But had the rapper’s self-styled homophobic character been punked by Baron Cohen and MTV, or was he in on the elaborate stunt? Free of the scene, Eminem stormed out with his entourage in tow — and cameras rolling — and hit the exits. Baron Cohen’s descent to the audience was included in rehearsals, but Eminem — who performed Sunday night — didn’t take part in that piece of the run-through. As the rapper stormed off, it sounded as though he was wearing a microphone, and cameras were in position to record his fast exit, but he was not seen or heard from again. Baron Cohen’s publicist, Matthew Labov, had no comment when reached after the show. A spokeswoman for MTV would not confirm whether Eminem was caught by surprise, and representatives for the rapper did not immediately return requests for comment Sunday night … Besides handing out awards for movies from the past year, MTV debuted new footage from the upcoming films “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” and “New Moon.” The highlight of the “Twilight” sequel clip: A newly buff Taylor Lautner transformed instantly into a giant, menacing canine, fans’ first look at one of the storyline’s werewolves.

LOL. I was surprised that Twilight only won 5 awards … from watching the show, it seemed like the movie won every category announced. It’s very clear that the Twilighters have spoken … and they love their vamps! They also love their awkwardly, fidgety starlet Kristen Stewart … who fumbled and itched her head thruout her acceptance speech for Best Female Performance (she looked like a crack addict pheenin’ for a hit) — and then dropped her award trophy onto the ground. In case you missed it the first time or just wanna watch it again, you can watch the full video of her onstage acceptance speech (and fumble) after the jump …

"Let me tell you what it's really about."
Megan Fox Discusses Plot Points Of ‘High School Musical’

Megan Fox, who is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Esquire magazine, makes a bold comment on what she thinks the essential plot point of the hugely successful Disney film franchise High School Musical is all about. In her estimation, the film revolves around more than just a few tweens running around their high school merrily singing with one another … she sees a more insidious tale bubbling underneath the surface. Here is Megan‘s take on what High School Musical is “really about” as told in her coverstory interview with Esquire mag:

In the June issue of Esquire, on newsstands May 10, Megan Fox explains the true meaning of ‘High School Musical.’ “Let me tell you what it’s really about. ‘High School Musical’ is about this group of boys who are all being molested by the basketball coach, who is Zac Efron’s dad. It’s about them struggling to cope with this molestation. And they have these little girlfriends, who are their beards. Oh, and somehow there’s music involved,” the ‘Transformers’ beauty says. Fox adds, “You have to get stoned and watch it.” We wonder if she’s speaking from experience.

Hahahaha! Well, that is quite an opinion. It’s clear that Megan is trying to make herself seem edgy by taking this shot at a very successful tween movie franchise. I suppose she feels cool, like an older kid who picks on a younger kid in the schoolyard. I dunno if this comment makes her cool but it does enlighten a bit about how the woman thinks. Perhaps it’s best that she keeps smiling for the cameras rather than offering other movie commentary. Then again, is there anyone out there who doesn’t see that she may be on to something? HMMM.

More Photos Of Megan Fox In The New Issue Of ‘Elle’ Magazine

Yesterday we got our first look at Megan Fox on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Elle magazine and today we get to enjoy a bit more from the mag. Elle.com has yet to publish their full interview with Megan Fox but, in addition to offering a few more photos, they have posted a few questions and answers from her coverstory interview. Here is one of the newly released photos and her interview answers:

On getting down to 99 pounds while shooting Jennifer’s Body: “I decided I would turn myself into a zombie. I got super, super skinny, stayed out of the sun for four months, and got to where I was losing my eyelashes and my eyebrows.”

On wanting to keep the status of her relationship private: “No, I do not want to comment on my relationship, period. It’s private. It doesn’t belong to the world. It’s mine. It’s Brian’s. It’s not for other people to judge and talk about and write about in In Touch Weekly.”

On the theory that her sudden success emasculated Green: “He doesn’t want to be my date…he’s a man. He has an ego. He went through this already, and he doesn’t want it back–It was horrible. So he has sympathy. He’s the one person that I know that if I’m struggling and everything’s getting crazy, I can call.”

On misbehaving while growing up: “I was grounded for all my childhood. Not most–all. I wasn’t doing anything particularly crazy. I just never appreciated authority figures preaching to me.”

Still, these interview answers do not provide too much insight into Miss Fox but I’m hoping we’ll get more meat when the full interview is released. After the jump, check out two more photos of Megan from her Elle magazine photoshoot …

Sneak Peek
Megan Fox Does ‘Elle’ Magazine

Transformers star Megan Fox, who is already appearing on the cover of the new issue of Esquire magazine, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Elle magazine. Altho Elle has yet to publish their full interview with Miss Fox online, they have provided us with a few photos of check out. Here is Megan‘s Elle mag coverphoto and a brief snippet from her coverstory interview:

On maturing early: “I’ve lived the life of a 35-year-old since I was 18. I’m so suspicious of boys-slash-men. I just don’t like them or trust them.”

On giving male writers an amped-up version of her past: “They’re boys; they’re easily toyed with. I tell stories and have them eating out of my hand.”

HMMM, she is really trying to push that vixen persona, ain’t she? But, you know, she’s young and vampy enough to pull it off … to a point. I’m curious to read more from this Elle interview. This snippet doesn’t really give us much so I’m hoping all the interesting bits are still to come. While we wait for her interview to hit the Internets, let’s check out a couple photos from her Elle magazine photospread …

Megan Fox Does ‘Esquire’ Magazine

Megan Fox, who will be starring alongside Shia LaBeouf in the Transformers sequel Rise of the Fallen this June and just started filming Jonah Hex for release next year, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Esquire magazine … here is her coverphoto:

Wowie wow! Megan looks great … but, curiously, don’t you think the trench coat/stockings ensemble looks an awful lot like the look that Angelina Jolie rocked in the spy romance flick Mr. & Mrs. Smith? The similarity can’t be a coincidence … Megan has been compared to a young Angelina many times before. After the jump, check out another alternate Esquire cover of Megan in another pose …

The action starlet films her next movie
Megan Is A Fox On The Set Of ‘Jonah Hex’

Megan Fox, who sexes up the upcoming blockbuster Summer sequel Transformers: Rise of the Fallen this June, has been spotted on the Louisiana set of the new Warner Bros. big screen adaptation of the Western-style comic book Jonah Hex. Here are a couple pics of Megan in her sexy period pieces on set yesterday:

ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype! has received new photos of Megan Fox wearing two different costumes on the set of Warner Bros. Pictures’ comic book adaptation Jonah Hex. Opening August 6, 2010, the Jimmy Hayward-directed action-adventure co-stars Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Will Arnett and Michael Shannon. Hex, known for having the right side of his face disfigured and wearing a Confederate army uniform, was a rough-and-tumble gunslinger and part-time bounty hunter whose adventures always ended in blood.

Ah yes … sounds like a charming and uplifting film. I, personally, am not a fan of anything Western-themed nor am I familiar with this particular comic book series but the cast does sound impressive. Megan looks great in her sexy corset … which I’m sure all the fanboys will appreciate muchly. I suspect we may see more from the Jonah Hex set in the weeks to come. Any fans out there? Is this a comic book title I should be reading?

Find out which Transformers will be featured in the sequel
‘Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen’ Releases New Promo Pics

In just about 2 1/2 months time, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will open in theaters around the world … which means that it is just about time that we get to check out a few new promo pics from the upcoming Summer blockbuster. So as to try and not spoil too much from the film this early before its release, I’ll keep the pics of the actual transformers behind the cut … but here are photos of stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and more on the set of the film which was shot last year:

This time around, many of the same Transformers robots will be back for more action … but we will also get a new batch of Transformers characters thrown into the mix. After the jump, check out a few new photos of some of the Transformers that will be featured in the movie and see a full list of characters that will appear in the upcoming sequel — some of the Transformers in the film will come as a surprise, I think …

The engagement is off
Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green Are Dunzo!

Blah … another Hollywood couple bites the dust. US Weekly is reporting that the fairytale romance between Transformers hottie Megan Fox and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (and former Beverly Hills, 90210) star Brian Austin Green has reportedly “run its course”. The couple have called off their engagement and are now dunzo!

Megan Fox and fiance Brian Austin Green have split, Usmagazine.com has learned. “The relationship had run its course,” an insider tells Us exclusively. “It’s completely amicable, and they are remaining friends.” Fox, 22 (who’ll reprise her role as Mikaela in this June’s sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), and Green, 35 (a regular on Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), now “are both focusing on their careers,” the source adds … The couple — who have tattoos of each other’s names — met in 2004 and, as Us first reported, got engaged in November 2006. Last November, Fox told Us that the wedding plans were still on. “It’s not going to be a big wedding,” she told Us at a GQ bash. “I’m not one of those girls. If it happens, it will be very low-key and quick and unplanned.” She said she and Green — who has a 6-year-old son, Kassius, from a previous relationship — haven’t talked about wanting more kids. “I feel like I need to set my career and do a movie other than Transformers,” she said. “Then I’ll explore family.” Green laughed off split rumors last year. “The last thing we do is get upset,” he told Us. “We usually go have dinner and have a glass of wine and laugh about it.” Asked last July what he loves most about Fox, he told Us, “Everything is my favorite thing about her.”

Boo … well that sucks. I remember when these two got together, Brian Austin Green was the “big name” in the relationship. In the years since, Megan has made a name for herself and is now prolly the more famous of the two. Truth be told, I really liked these two together. My friends and I even ran into the couple together at the mall in Century City a few weeks ago … they looked happy — then. But, alas, all good things must … well, you know. Sad news about these two. Here’s hoping they’ll be able to find love again sometime soon.

Big night for 'Slumdog Millionaire' and 'John Adams'
The 66th Annual Golden Globes Are Handed Out

The Hollywood Foreign Press handed out the 66th annual Golden Globe awards last night at the famed Beverly Hilton Hotel and a Who’s Who of Hollywood’s elite came out for the grand affair. As you may recall, the Golden Globe Awards were not held last year because of the Hollywood Writers’ Strike so many celebs were geared up to strut their stuff on the red carpet last night. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals:

There were quite a few fashion disasters on the red carpet last night and I’m convinced that many of the folks who made their way down the red carpet were totally loaded. I watched NBC‘s red carpet coverage and was aghast at how horrible the whole thing was. Not only did Nancy O’Dell look like she had a mop afixed to her head but she and her interviewer cohorts were simply HORRENDOUS as they interviewed the celebs:

If you watched the show, you know exactly what I’m talking about. But, once the show got underway and the awards started to get handed out, things leveled off and got sorta interesting. In the end, the Hollywood Foreign Press saw fit to bestow HEAPS of awards on Slumdog Millionaire (in the Film categories) and John Adams (in the Television categories). Here are a few pics from the press room and a rundown of what went down last night:

The movie “Slumdog Millionaire” emerged as the big winner at the 66th Golden Globes late Sunday, scooping four awards to underline its credentials ahead of next month’s Oscars. Late Australian actor Heath Ledger earned a posthumous Golden Globe for his performance in Batman blockbuster “The Dark Knight” while Kate Winslet won two awards for best drama actress and supporting actress. But, ironically, on a star-studded night in Beverly Hills, it was “Slumdog Millionaire” the rags-to-riches love story about an orphan who fights his way out of Mumbai slums on an Indian television game show. The film — featuring a cast of virtual unknowns — won best drama and also picked up honors for director Danny Boyle, as well as honors for best screenplay and best music. Sally Hawkins also won the best musical/comedy actress award for her performance in the light-hearted Mike Leigh film “Happy-Go-Lucky.” The 32-year-old actress beat favorite Meryl Streep (“Mamma Mia!”), Frances McDormand (“Burn After Reading) and fellow Britons Rebecca Hall (“Vicky Cristina Barcelona”) and Emma Thompson (“Last Chance Harvey”). After a disastrous event last year that was reduced to a celebrity-free zone by the entertainment industry’s writers strike, this year’s Globes red carpet read like a who’s who of the movie industry’s A-list. Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, Leonardo DiCaprio were just a handful of the A-listers in attendance at the Beverly Hilton. Unlike the Oscars, the Golden Globes — which are chosen by around 80 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association — have separate best picture awards for dramas and musicals. In the past four years the Globes have failed to accurately predict the best picture winner at the Academy Awards but overall, some 67 percent of Oscars best picture winners had first received a Golden Globe. As such the Globes are seen as an important staging post ahead of the Academy Awards, offering clues to which films will be successful at the Oscars, which take place at Hollywood’s Kodak Theater on February 22. The acting awards on Sunday saw Australian heart-throb Ledger honored as expected for his portrayal of arch-villain the Joker in “The Dark Knight.” Director Christopher Nolan accepted Ledger’s award, saying the actor’s death at the age of 28 had “ripped a hole” in the future of cinema. “All of us who worked with Heath on ‘The Dark Knight’ accept this with an awful mixture of sadness but incredible pride,” Nolan said. “For any of us lucky enough to work with him, I think for any of us lucky enough to enjoy his performances, he will be eternally missed, but he will never be forgotten,” he added. The victory cements Ledger’s status as the odds-on favorite to win a best supporting actor Oscar at next month’s Oscars. The other big winner in the acting categories was Winslet, who scooped best actress in a drama for her performance in “Revolutionary Road” and best supporting actress for “The Reader.” Winslet, 33, who had been overlooked after five previous nominations, was overcome following her double win, apologizing to her rival nominees and thanking “Revolutionary Road” co-star DiCaprio. “I’m so sorry, Meryl (Streep), Anne (Hathaway), Kristin (Scott-Thomas), the other one… Angelina (Jolie)!,” Winslet gasped. “Thank you so much… thank you soooo much!,” before adding to longtime friend and fellow “Titanic” star DiCaprio: “I love you with all my heart, I really do!” It was only the third time in Golden Globes history that an actor or actress had been honored with two awards on the same night. In the men’s acting categories there was an emotional victory for Mickey Rourke, who won best actor in a drama for his heart-wrenching portrayal of a washed-up prizefighter in “The Wrestler.” “This has been a very long road back for me,” said Rourke, whose career nose-dived through much of the 1990s after an ill-advised spell as a professional boxer. Rourke — who famously has a pet chihuahua — also paid tribute to canine friends who had comforted him over the years. “I’d like to thank all of my dogs, the ones that are here and the ones that aren’t here anymore because sometimes when a man is alone, that’s all you’ve got is your dog, and they meant the world to me,” Rourke said. Rock star Bruce Springsteen won for best original song for his theme song for “The Wrestler.” But it was a disappointing evening though for Brad Pitt and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” which had started the night with five nods alongside “Frost/Nixon” and “Doubt”. All three films came away empty-handed.

Poor Brangelina … they walked away from the Golden Globes with nothing but a free meal and prolly a very nice giftbag — that’s it! And, to add insult to injury, Angelina got called “the other one” by Kate Winslet (which sounded an awful lot like when John McCain referred to Barack Obama as “that one” during one of the Presidential Debates). Tsk tsk. Neither The Curious Case of Benjamin Button nor Changeling have done very well at winning awards thus far, have they? HMMM. I am SO thrilled that Slumdog Millionaire cleaned up last night … truly an underdog film that is worthy of the praise and accolades it continues to win. If you’ve not see the movie yet, I urge you to do so before the Academy Awards are held next month … you don’t want to miss out. I was happy, too, that Heath Ledger won the award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in The Dark Knight. I really hope he is on track for an Oscar, he really deserves the win. Props to Kate Winslet for being the first person to ever win both Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress awards in the same year (I understand that has never happened before). I’ve only heard amazing things about The Reader and Vicki Christina Barcelona … so I am now on a mission to see those films (as well as The Wrestler, which I’ve been dying to see anyways) as soon as I can. I really enjoyed this year’s Golden Globe Awards mostly because so many small, relatively unknown films did so well. It gets kinda boring when the usual suspects (ie. big, blockbuster A-list celeb movies) win all the awards … it’s nice to see the talented little guys get their time in the sun. Next up, Oscar noms which come out next week. How many of last night’s winners do you think will get tapped for Academy Award nominations? Also, what did you think of last night’s show … good, bad, you’re over it already?

More hot men on the way
‘GQ’ Magazine Honors The ‘Men Of The Year’ For 2008

While People magazine is honoring its annual list of the Sexiest Men Alive today, GQ magazine has compiled its own list of men to honor as well. Both male and female celebs made their way out to the Chateau Marmont in LA, CA last night to enjoy GQ magazine’s 2008 Men Of The Year Partybestowing top honors to Leonardo DiCaprio and John Malcovich. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals last night:

Actors Leonardo DiCaprio and John Malkovich walked away with top awards at this year’s GQ Men of the Year ceremony. The Body Of Lies star picked up the Leading Man Trophy, while Malkovich was named Mad Genius of the Year at the men’s magazine awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Tuesday. President-elect Barack Obama was given the nod as Game Changer of the Year, actor Jon Hamm was handed the Breakout award and Olympic champion Michael Phelps took home the ultimate accolade for Golden Boy of the Year. The glittering party attracted some of Hollywood’s brightest male stars, including DiCaprio, Zac Efron, Adam Brody and Aaron Eckhart. And although the annual celebration recognizes leading men, the ladies were out in full force too, with Megan Fox, Rosario Dawson and Elisha Cuthbert turning out for the red carpet bash. The main list of winners is as follows:

Leading Man: Leonardo DiCaprio
Game Changer: Barack Obama
Breakout: Jon Hamm
Golden Boy: Michael Phelps
Mad Genius of the Year: John Malkovich
Obsession of the Year: Megan Fox
Drama Queen of the Year: Sean Penn
Screen Idol of the Year: James Franco
Tough Guys of the Year: The Wire Writers
Mogul of the Year: Seth MacFarlane
Prick of the Year: Gordon Ramsay

While I don’t necessarily agree with this list of honorees as I did with the People magazine list, there are a few winners that I am in complete agreement with — Barack Obama, Megan Fox, James Franco. After the jump, check out a few more photos from the red carpet arrivals last night — there is more hotness to be had …
