On Saturday we saw photos of John Mayer playing host aboard the Mayercraft Carrier cruise ship that transported 3,000 fans to Mexico and back for a 4-day pleasure/concert cruise. In addition to entertaining his guests with his interesting outfit choices, John also played nightly concerts for his fans — even taking requests from the audience … requests like sniffing a pair of mankini that were thrown on stage for him:

Now, I realize that John Mayer has got made love for his fans but I dunno … I’m not sure I’d sniff anything that was thrown at me from a random stranger. That mankini could’ve been worn by anybody. The cruelest joke ever would be if someone tossed John‘s own mankini on stage for him to sniff — blaurgh! That’s fan devotion right there.

John Mayer hit the high seas with a boatload of fans, literally, as his Mayercraft Carrier 2 sailed out on its second annual 4-day cruise from California to Mexico yesterday. As you may recall, last year Mayer word a Borat-inspired green mankini thong on the cruise to the delight/horror of his Mayercraft passengers but this year he had something a bit different in store for his guests … but we’ll get to that in moment. Here are a few photos of John‘s first performance aboard the Mayercraft Carrier yesterday … you will note that John opted for nice, see-thru tank top so that all could get a nice peek at his nips:

I have to admit, this cruise thing sounds really fun and I’m sure it’s a real treat for John Mayer fans to get to enjoy a cruise with him. The fact that he performs every single night is just … brilliant! I’m not a huge John Mayer fan musically (tho, I do like many of his songs) but I can see how big fans would love an event like this. Trust me, if Tori Amos did this sort of thing you better believe I’d be there year after year.
