Last Tuesday we learned that Sarah Jessica Parker and her hubby Matthew Broderick welcomed the birth of their newborn twin daughters Marion Loretta and Tabitha Hodge who were born to them via surrogate mother on June 23. Today we get our first look at the beautiful twin girls in a new photo released to the media by the family. SJP holds Marion, Matthew holds Tabitha and their older son James Wilkie is sandwiched in between:

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are playing show and tell. On Monday, the couple, who greeted twin daughters Marion and Tabitha June 23, released a picture of the beautiful new additions to their family. The girls, born via a surrogate, were joined by their older brother, James Wilkie, 6 ½.

Earlier today we learned that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick became the proud parents of twin daughters born by a surrogate mother in Ohio and now we have an official statement from the couple on the babies’ birth … including their names. Here is the full text of the just released statement:

“Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their two daughters at 3:58 p.m. on June 22 in Ohio. Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick weighed 5 lbs., 11 oz., and Tabitha Hodge Broderick weighed 6 pounds. Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker’s side. The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon.”

Yay!! Those are some serious names for a couple of tiny baby girls … but I’m sure Marion and Tabitha will grow into their very long names soon enough. Again, much love and congrats goes out to the newly expanded Parker-Broderick family!!

Congratulations are in order for proud parents Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick who are reportedly welcoming the birth of their twin daughters today. As we learned back in April, SJP and Matthew decided to have their twin baby girls by surrogate mother and we learn today that the surrogate mom gave birth to the little girls in Martins Ferry, OH earlier today:

CBS news in Martins Ferry, Ohio are reporting that the twin girls of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick have arrived. Sources close to East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry confirm for CBS News that the surrogate mother for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick gave birth to twins this morning. Sources tell WTRF Reporter Dave Elias that Parker and Broderick are at the hospital with the surrogate. We are also learning that Parker and Broderick are expected to make some type of announcement before they leave the hospital. However, Hospital Spokesperson Maggie Espina would not confirm or deny our reports. She would only say that the hospital has no comment at this time. Security at the hospital is tight this morning. We’re told additional guards have been brought in and even more are on standby, if needed, as this story is expected to get national attention.

Yay!! Much love and congrats goes out to SJP and Matthew on the expansion of their beautiful family. The couple already have a son, James Wilkie, so I’m sure they are ecstatic over the addition of baby girls to the fam. As of yet, no names have been announced for the twin baby girls but one hopes that the proud new parents will divulge that info if they do make an official birth announcement today. Congrats again, SJP and MB!!

Marc Malkin from E! News broke the happy news that Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick are expecting twin baby girls this Summer … but SJP won’t be birthin’ the babies herself, the couple will leave that duty to a surrogate mother. The couple already have one child together, a 6 year old son named James Wilkie, so these twins will be adding to their happy family. Here is a pic of the happy couple posing together on the red carpet of the premiere of the new film Wonderful World at the TriBeCa Film Festival in NYC this week and some deets about their coming bundles of joy:

Split, shmit! Instead of going their separate ways, as has been whispered and denied for weeks, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are pooling their assets yet again. The couple are expecting twin daughters via a surrogate mother. “Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate,” the actors’ publicists said in a statement. “The entire family is overjoyed.” Parker, 44, and Broderick, 47, also have a son, 6-year-old James Wilkie. A source says that the already proud parents had been trying unsuccessfully to expand their brood for some time. “At a certain point, they were presented with an alternative,” the source says. “They could have kept trying on their own, but they’ve always wanted to have more children and felt this was the best way to go.” The insider says that Parker plans to take some time off after the twins’ arrival—but not much. If all goes according to plan, she intends to start shooting the Sex and the City sequel sometime this summer, as well.

Regarding the filming of the Sex and the City sequel, I understand that the movie will go into production in September … depending on when the babies are born, that should be plenty of time for her to spend time with the young’ns before getting back to work. I am overjoyed at this news. I really love SJP and Matthew together and I sincerely hope that this news will end all of that talk that the couple are splitting up. After all the Oscar trophies were handed out at last night’s Academy Awards (actually, some folks didn’t even wait ’til all the awards were handed out … some showed up at the party before the Oscars were even finished), a who’s who of Hollywood A-Listers made their way to the Sunset Tower to party the night away at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party which was hosted by Graydon Carter. Folks this is THE party to go to if you are “anybody” in Hollywood. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals last night:

I gotta say … I was very bummed to see that Madonna showed up at the VF party sans her much younger beau Jesus Luz. I was really hoping she and her boytoy would walk the red carpet together and set the gossips afire with her brazen brash & sassiness. Boo. On the plus side, tho, Jennifer Aniston was happy to cozy up to her beau John Mayer for the cameras … tho, the couple did not make a scene on the red carpet in full view of all of the cameras … they saved their canoodling for inside the shindig. While many folks make the rounds on Oscar night and hit up as many parties as they can, the folks who get an invite to the Vanity Fair party make sure to make an appearance and some end up staying all night long … it’s that good. I’m sure a great time was had by all … now that we’ve got the 81st Academy Awards in the can, I’m sure many folks were rearin’ to get to the celebratin’ (or the drownin’ ones sorrows in free booze … like Brangelina). See, there really ain’t no bizznazz like showbiz.

Woot! A new day has dawned here in America … and the World … and while there is still much to celebrate, there is also much work to get done in the aftermath. It’s also time to get back to the goss ;) Yesterday I created a photo album of friends and Pink readers proudly showing off the I Voted stickers (or handmade signs) that they were given after they voted yesterday and today we get to see a whole bunch of photos of celebs showing off their I Voted stickers, too. Americans came out in record numbers to vote yesterday and those numbers included celebs … here are a few of them who exercised their right to vote yesterday:

I’m pretty sure that some of these celebs were voting for President for the first time in their lives and it seems pretty safe to assume that the lion’s share of them added to President-elect Barack Obama’s historic win.

I’ve been getting emails and messages from around the World of folks cheering on Obama’s victory as news of his election as the 44th President of the United States of America made headlines around the world. Here are a few of the UK papers splashing the news across their covers:

Last week Sarah Jessica Parker and her hubby Matthew Broderick were snapped enjoying a date night together about a week after new claims surfaced that the couple were having marriage trubs due Matthew’s alleged infidelity (an allegation made by Star magazine). This week, the couple have relocated to the beachy Hamptons to continue their show of unity:

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick fled to their beach home for some alone time following press allegations the actor had cheated on his wife. The couple and their five-year-old James Wilke escaped to their house in The Hamptons, upstate New York last month following the reports. Far from her fashionable Sex And The City character Carrie, SJP dressed casually for a day on the beach in blue board shorts and a stripy vest, which showed off her golden tan. Meanwhile her husband of 11 years Matthew appeared a tad sunburnt as he covered up in a grey t-shirt and patterned blue shorts. The couple spent the day on the beach playing with their son and Jack Russell terrier in the sand for a traditional family day out. At the end of the day, Sarah Jessica, 43, tied up the numerous buckets and spades left discarded on the sand by their son, as Matthew kept the dog occupied.

Despite the fact that they don’t look all that happy in these pics together, I would venture to guess that things are just fine between the two of them … well, about as fine as they’ve always been. I just hope they really are ok. They have such a cute family, I hate to see Carrie Bradshaw and Ferris Bueller break-up.
