Blake Lively has been trying hard the last year to push her career out of the Gossip Girl comfort zone. Unfortunately her attempts haven’t been the biggest successes so far. She spent her last break from GG shooting Oliver Stone’s Savages, following the flop of The Green Lantern. Now she’s picked up a new film, but will this prove that she is a real A-list actor or make sure she stays in Serena-land for the rest of her life?

It could be the scene in the next action thriller, but sadly it is not. Action star Jeremy Renner was involved in a bar fight in Phuket, Thailand, and he and his friend were attacked and stabbed. Ow!

Last week we saw new photos of actor Matt Damon with a totally shaved bald head on the set of his new film Elysium. Today we learn that Matt was in attendance at an outdoor event in Washington DC and, due to the blistering sunlight beating down, he had to slather sunblock all over his pale white head. It is very easy to get sunburnt in the midday sun so it was very, very smart of Matt so coat his head with as much sunblock as possible.

Back in April we got our first look at Jake Gyllenhaal‘s shaved bald head on the set of his new film End of Watch. Today we learn that fellow actor Matt Damon is following Jake‘s lead by shaving his head bald for a new film as well. Damon was spotted in Vancouver, British Columbia with a totally shaved head in between takes of his new film Elysium. Click below to check out his new ‘do.

Last month the embattled Broadway trainwreck known as Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark went into previews again after the show was shut down for a few weeks to retool the production. Last night, the new version of Turn Off the Dark officially opened on Broadway … 7 months after it went into previews in its first accident-ridden incarnation. Last night’s opening was a star-studded affair but the reviews remain the same … the show still isn’t all that good. Nonetheless, Turn Off the Dark threw itself a bit ol’ party to celebrate it’s opening. Check out some photos below.

In a show of unity and togetherness (or perhaps just because they were merely hungry) celeb couples and BFFs Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck and Matt Damon & Luciana Barroso stepped out for a double date dinner at Nobu in Malibu, CA over the weekend. Last week, a new rumor started going around that Ben and Jen are having trubs in their marriage (sound familiar?) which the couple have already denied (100%) so maybe this public outing was a way of showing the world that they are still happily together cuz, you know, they like eating together. More likely, the couples got together for a little pre-anniversary celebration for Bennifer 2.0 — their 3 year wedding anniversary was yesterday. Here are a few pics of the happy couples making their way out of Nobu this past Saturday night:

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck met up with Matt Damon and his heavily pregnant wife, Luciana Barroso, at Nobu Malibu on Saturday night for a two-hour dinner on the patio that included cooked fish and sushi rolls. “Ben and Matt were entertaining the girls with stories, and they were all laughing a lot,” says an observer of the couples. When dessert came, the celebratory group toasted – after all, Garner and Affleck’s third wedding anniversary was the following day. “Jen and Ben were in a great mood, and they left Nobu hand in hand,” says the observer.

They’re fine, I’m convinced of it. No smoke, no fire — just some friends having a nice dinner out … and if some photogs happen to snap them all holding hands, well, all the better. Happy Anni, Bennifer 2.0.
