The ‘Saved By The Bell’ Kids Reunite For ‘People’ Magazine

Screw over Jimmy Fallon in the process
Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Jimmy Fallon, that loveable late-night talk show host who used to make us laugh sometimes on Saturday Night Live, has very famously made it his life’s mission to reunite the cast of the 90’s TV series Saved By The Bell for a possible appearance on his show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. He even got SBTB star Mark-Paul Gosselaar to appear on his show in character as Zack Morris last month. Well … I’ve got news and bad news for Jimmythe Saved By The Bell kids have decided to reunite BUT they chose to do so on the cover of People magazine rather than on his show. How’s that for a hearty slap in the face?

Two decades after the show’s debut, the cast of “Saved by the Bell” has reunited! Mario Lopez (Slater), Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie), Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly) and Lark Voorhies (Lisa) look back at their TV high school days — in the new issue of People magazine. Fans of the cult TV sitcom can thank Jimmy Fallon, who started a petition to reunite the Bayside High class of ‘90, but where is Dustin Diamond (Screech)? Now a stand-up comedian, Diamond tells People he is no longer close with his castmates and he’s working on a tell-all called “Behind the Bell.” For more about the “Saved by the Bell” cast and what they have been up to, pick up People magazine — on stands this Friday, July 31.

Whew … I’m actually glad that Dustin Diamond (Screech) was not included in this fun reunion. He has turned into quite the sleeze in recent years (BLECH! who could ever forget that disgusting sex tape he was peddling a few years ago). It’s kinda crappy, tho, that the cast decided to diss Jimmy Fallon for the cover of People magazine. Jimmy has been working so hard to get these guys back together and POOF! People magazine does it one fell swoop. Nonetheless, it is great to see the gang back together again. I’m so excited, I just can’t hide it.

Zack Morris Does ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’

Zack Attack
Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Mark-Paul Gosselaar paid a little visit to the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show last night in his Saved By The Bell character Zack Morris. Gosselaar was really on the show to promote the new season of his TNT drama Raising the Bar but spent most of his appearance playing up the notion of a Saved By The Bell reunion. It’s pretty funny to see MPG in character as Zack Morris again … he doesn’t really look like he’s aged much at all:

As he’s established himself as a grown-up actor with roles on “NYPD Blue,” “Commander in Chief” and now “Raising the Bar,” Mark-Paul Gosselaar has (understandably) distanced himself from his first big role on “Saved by the Bell.” Consider the distance achieved. Gosselaar was a guest on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” Monday — and did the whole appearance in character as Zack Morris, his “Saved by the Bell” alter ego. Or is it that he’s been “Zack Morris” all along, and just had to change his name to “Mark-Paul Gosselaar” when he got his SAG card because there was already someone with his name in the union? Fallon has made it his mission to host a “Saved by the Bell” reunion on “Late Night,” and it looks like things are lining up. I only hope that Zack and Kelly can put aside any lingering hard feelings over their breakup.

Hahahahaha … so awesome! I’m pretty sure it won’t be too difficult to get the other Saved By The Bellers on board for a proper reunion … if anything, Mark-Paul er, I mean Zack Morris’s appearance shows that there is still a huge amount of love for Saved By The Bell. After the jump, check out Zack Morris’s full appearance on Late Night last night …

Celebs Complete The ‘Nautica Malibu Triathlon’

J. Lo! Matty boy! Zach Morris!
Monday, September 15th, 2008

Despite an “ankle injury” that kept her from fulfilling the arduous duty of judging the Project Runway Season 5 Finale Fashion Show in NYC last Friday (which would have required that she, gasp, sit in a front row seat and judge designs), Jennifer Lopez was able to miraculously complete the Nautica Malibu Triathlon in Malibu, CA yesterday morning/afternoon with a time of 2 hours, 23 minutes and 28 seconds … imagine that. Here are a few pics from J. Lo’s triathlon run yesterday:

Jennifer Lopez had the support of several important men in her life as she successfully competed in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon on Sunday, finishing the race in 2 hours, 23 minutes and 28 seconds. The singer-actress was cheered on from the sidelines by husband Marc Anthony, who escorted her to a VIP area with his arm securely around her after she crossed the finish line, exhausted, but with her fists pumped in victory. In the VIP area, Lopez met up with Matthew McConaughey, who also competed in the triathlon at Zuma Beach. The actor greeted his former Wedding Planner costar with a big hug. And Lopez was accompanied along the way by her trainer Gunnar Peterson, who was not racing himself, but was there to help out. Lopez, 39, has been training for the event – her first ever triathlon – with Peterson and Self magazine editor-in-chief Lucy Danziger. In August, she appeared on Good Morning America, boasting a positive attitude about her workout regimen. “I feel great,” she said on the show. “I have more energy – [and] I’m proud of myself.” She also revealed that she would be raising money for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles … But for McConaughey, the event was all business. The actor (and fitness buff) had his game face on before the race as he stretched. Still, the actor broke his serious demeanor for a moment, though, when he spotted girlfriend Camila Alves – who spent some of the race time in the VIP area, holding son Levi in a baby bjorn. McConaughey left the line to give her a kiss and rub Levi before the swim began.

Whew! I’m so glad that Jenny’s “injury” was able to heal fast enough to allow her successful completion of this challenging triathlon. In the end, tho, her triathlon run was for a good charity cause so I guess I can’t give her too much grief ;) After the jump, and for Woot!s and LOLs, check out a few pics from Matthew McConaughey and (radomly) Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s triathlon runs …
