Mario Lopez is proving he’s “got the guns,” as Kristen Stewart has said. “Extra” superimposed the shirtless host into a “New Moon” promo shot. Check out behind-the-scenes footage of Lopez here. Lopez fits right in with Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier. In a sit-down interview with “Extra,” Pelletier — who is nicknamed “Slater Jr.” — joked to Lopez that, “when we were casting this thing I thought I was gonna lose my role out to you.” Added Meraz, “You’re the missing wolf pack member!” Taylor Lautner says it’s “definitely a possibility” that Lopez could join the pack. Stewart was more sure. “You totally could be,” she said. “We’ll get you in there,” Spencer promised.

Damn … yeah, he fits in nicely … werewolf tattoo and all. What do y’all think, does Mario Lopez look like a bona fide member of the Twilight wolf pack to you?

I’m not sure how Mario felt about eating a cake that featured his hot, ripped, half-nekkid body on it but I know I wouldn’t have minded a slice. Altho Mario and his peeps got a jump start on celebrating his bday this year, he doesn’t actually turn 36 until October 10. Judging by the hotness of his birthday cake, I think it’s pretty evident that Mr. Lopez looks pretty damn good for almost 36 … don’tcha think?

I understand that there were other celebrities who competed in the triathlon yesterday but none of them looked as good as Mario, so they didn’t make the cut here on the blog. Two decades after the show’s debut, the cast of “Saved by the Bell” has reunited! Mario Lopez (Slater), Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie), Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly) and Lark Voorhies (Lisa) look back at their TV high school days — in the new issue of People magazine. Fans of the cult TV sitcom can thank Jimmy Fallon, who started a petition to reunite the Bayside High class of ‘90, but where is Dustin Diamond (Screech)? Now a stand-up comedian, Diamond tells People he is no longer close with his castmates and he’s working on a tell-all called “Behind the Bell.” For more about the “Saved by the Bell” cast and what they have been up to, pick up People magazine — on stands this Friday, July 31.

Whew … I’m actually glad that Dustin Diamond (Screech) was not included in this fun reunion. He has turned into quite the sleeze in recent years (BLECH! who could ever forget that disgusting sex tape he was peddling a few years ago). It’s kinda crappy, tho, that the cast decided to diss Jimmy Fallon for the cover of People magazine. Jimmy has been working so hard to get these guys back together and POOF! People magazine does it one fell swoop. Nonetheless, it is great to see the gang back together again. I’m so excited, I just can’t hide it.

The Dodgers went on to win last night’s game in extra innings with a score of 3-2. The really cool thing about going to Dodgers games (outside the fun food and the exciting play) is the chance to see celebs on the mound before games to throw out the first pitch. I understand that Matthew McConaughey will be on hand to throw out the first pitch at tomorrow night’s game. I am very much looking forward to the coming Summer (when David and I will stay in LA for the entire time) so that we can attend more Dodgers games. It’s a shame I missed seeing Mario in person … he is lookin’ pret-ty good in that Dodgers uniform.

I understand that shortly after midnight the DJ stopped spinning long enough to lead the packed club in singing Happy Birthday to the party boy as a flock of beauties presented Mario with a cake complete with sparklers (tho why “after midnight” I’m not entirely sure as his birthday is still days away). Mario was spied making out with a few ladies last night, so obvs he was partying as if it really was his birthday ;) After the pretty hawt shirtless pics of Mario Lopez that we got to see earlier this week, I think the least we can do is wish the man a happy pre-birthday!

Not that the buff new Extra host has anything to hide. “Obviously, being healthy and staying fit are important to me,” says the 34-year-old, who in the past seemed like the only serious rival to Matthew McConaughey in the bare-chest sweepstakes … “My TV projects are my main priority,” he says. “And no, you will never see me host Extra without a shirt.” Still, to every rule there’s an exception – in this case, Nip/Tuck. Lopez says he is “thrilled” to be reprising the role of Dr. Mike Hamoui on the cable series, with Dr. Mike moving to Los Angeles – where he can once again gain the attention of the ab-admiring Dr. Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) in the locker room. “A small spoiler,” says Lopez. “Dr. Mike might not be taking anymore showers at the gym with Christian, but he will lose his shirt.”

It looks like fun. I am a big fan of Nip/Tuck so I’m happy to see that production on the new season has already gotten underway. While I’m bummed that Mr. Lopez will be shying away from showering on the series from here on out, I guess I can’t be too upset since there is bound to be more booty (from other folks) showcased on the series. And, we have these hawt shirtless scenes to look forward to. Woot!

In this issue, Mario (who was chosen at the Hottest of the Hottest Bachelors of 2008 by the mag) recreates at least 2 famous photos of other celebs in various states of undress. The first pic we saw yesterday was a recreation of one of the famous Marky Mark Wahlberg for Calvin Klein underwear pics and this centerfold is a recreation of the famous Burt Reynolds nekkid on a bearskin rug pic. Because I’ve yet to see the issue, I’m not sure if Mario recreates many other famous photos like this … tho, I’d love it if he had recreated the other famous nekkid Burt Reynolds pic. You gotta love that Mario was a good sport about shooting these pics … I’m curious to see just how much love to give ;)

Mario Lopez may be PEOPLE’s Hottest Bachelor – but the A Chorus Line star and fitness buff has a shocking admission: He was a chubby baby. “I looked like a sumo wrestler,” Lopez says in a new interview. “My mom had to pull the fat folds apart when she bathed me!” But that’s all in his past. As fans know, Lopez has mined his love of fitness to create his own book, Mario Lopez’s Knockout Fitness. The exercise guru, who is recently single, says that a full slate of projects has kept him off the dating market but that hasn’t stopped him from thinking about dating completely. “I like a girl who’s from a modest sort of upbringing, because it’s more relatable,” he says, explaining what he looks for in a potential girlfriend. “I’m a first-generation American. My parents [Elvia and Mario Sr.] emigrated from Mexico and live in the same house I grew up in Chula Vista, Calif. I’d feel weird if the girl was a little too uppity or affluent, because I’m a very down-home kind of guy.”

It’s interesting that Mario was chosen to top the list of People’s Hottest Bachelors because he *just* broke up with his girlfriend Karina Smirnoff (of Dancing with the Stars fame) just a few weeks ago (I wonder who the #2 guy was/is). In any event, the full list of bachelors who made the cut this year is revealed in the new issue of People magazine (which hits newsstands on Friday) but People.com has a gallery of some of the guys who made the cut. I totes understand why dudes like Adam Levine, Terrance Howard and Gerard Butler made the list but I’m surprised that Bryan Spears (Britney’s older brother) and Hunter Johansson (Scarlett’s twin brother) made the list. Neither one is a big name in Hollywood and, yet, they still are listed among the hottest bachelors in Hollywood. Something tells me that the People list was pretty thin so they had to beef it up with extraneous family guys (not that either Bryan or Hunter aren’t hawt enough, I just think they’re not famous enough). In any event, congrats (?) goes out to the lucky dudes who made the list … I suppose kudos are in order for being hawt and single.
