AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
Lindsay Lohan Will Channel Marilyn Monroe In Her ‘Playboy’ Pictorial

Last month we learned that trainwreck/repeated jailbird Lindsay Lohan decided to strip down to pose nekkid in the pages of Playboy magazine and today we are learning new details about L. Lo‘s upcoming magazine appearance. Lindsay‘s proud mother Dina Lohan talked a bit about her daughter’s nude pictorial but today we get much more information about the Playboy spread from People magazine. Shock of shocks, Lindsay will be paying homage (again) to Marilyn Monroe in her nude pictorial … cuz she’s never done that before. Oh wait, yes she has done that before … back in 2008, Lindsay posed nude FOR FREE in the pages of New York magazine in homage to Marilyn‘s nude photos. I guess we’ll be seeing that homage all over again (or something similar) in the January/February issue of Playboy magazine.

New poetry from the late Hollywood legend
Marilyn Monroe Does ‘Vanity Fair’ Magazine

The late iconic Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine. The coverstory article devoted to the Blonde Bombshell is focused on a new collection of letters, personal notes, diary entries and poems that have been discovered recently and will be published this Fall in a collection titled Fragments: Poems, Intimate Notes, Letters. Here is our first look at Marilyn on the cover of VF along with an excerpt from the coverstory article:

For all the millions of words she has inspired, Marilyn Monroe remains something of a mystery. Now a sensational archive of the actress’s own writing—diaries, poems, and letters—is being published. With exclusive excerpts from the book, Fragments, the author enters the mind of a legend: the scars of sexual abuse; the pain of psychotherapy; the betrayal by her third husband, Arthur Miller; the constant specter of hereditary madness; and the fierce determination to master her art. She was always late for class, usually arriving just before they closed the doors. The teacher was strict about not entering in the middle of an exercise or, God forbid, in the middle of a scene. Slipping in without makeup, her luminous hair hidden under a scarf, she tried to make herself inconspicuous. She usually took a seat in the back of one of the dingy rooms in the Malin Studios, on 46th Street, smack in the middle of the theater district. When she raised her hand to speak, it was in a tiny wisp of a voice. She didn’t want to draw attention to herself, but it was hard for the other students not to know that the most famous movie star in the world was in their acting class. A few blocks away, above Loew’s State Theater, at 45th and Broadway, there was the other Marilyn—the one everyone knew—52 feet tall, in that infamous billboard advertising Billy Wilder’s The Seven Year Itch, a hot blast from the subway grating causing her white dress to billow up around her thighs, her face an explosion of joy. When it was her turn to do an acting exercise focusing on sense memory, Marilyn took the floor in front of a small group of students. She was asked to remember a moment in her life, to recall the clothes she was wearing, to evoke the sights and smells of that memory. She described how she had felt about being alone in a room, years before, when an unnamed man walked in. Suddenly, her acting teacher admonished her, “Don’t do that. Just tell us what you hear. Don’t tell us how you feel.” Marilyn began to cry. Another student, an actress named Kay Leyder, recalled, “As she described her clothes … what she heard … the words that were said to her … she began crying, sobbing, until at the end of it she was really devastated.” Was this the real Marilyn Monroe: an insecure, shy, 29-year-old woman? Now an extraordinary archive of Marilyn’s poems, letters, notes, recipes, and diary entries has surfaced that delves deep into her psyche and private life. These artifacts shed light on, among other things, her sometimes devastating journey through psychoanalysis; her three marriages, to merchant marine James Dougherty, Yankee slugger Joe DiMaggio, and playwright Arthur Miller; and the mystery surrounding her tragic death at the age of 36. Marilyn left the archive, along with all her personal effects, to her acting teacher Lee Strasberg, but it would take a decade for her estate to be settled. Strasberg died in February 1982, outliving his most famous student by 20 years, and in October 1999 his third wife and widow, Anna Mizrahi Strasberg … Several years after inheriting the collection, Anna Strasberg found two boxes containing the current archive, and she arranged for the contents to be published this fall around the world—in the U.S. as Fragments: Poems, Intimate Notes, Letters by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. The archive is a sensational discovery for Marilyn’s biographers and for her fans, who still want to rescue her from the taint of suicide, from the accusations of tawdriness, from the layers of misconceptions and distortions written about her over the years. Now at last we have an unfiltered look inside her mind.

This collection of writings is bound to be of great interest to Marilyn Monroe fans around the world. Despite the fact that we may think we know Marilyn, there is no possible way we can ever know who she truly was. This new collection of writings, tho, may shed some light on the woman behind the legend … the woman who was born Norma Jeane Mortenson. After the jump, check out an image of one of her writings and read one of her previously unreleased poems …

Believe It or Not!
Iconic Celebrities Immortalized In Candy Art

The chain of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum/attractions have commissioned new artwork to pay tribute to some of the most iconic celebrities for display in their stores around the country. Among the celebs immortalized are Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe … and the medium used for these pieces? Candy! Check ‘em out:

These amazing pieces of art have been made out of gumdrops, licorice and M&M’s. I understand that the pieces will be shared among the various Ripley’s locales … I know we have a Ripley’s museum here in Hollywood, CA. To be honest, I wouldn’t mind having one of these pieces hanging in my own home … I think a portrait of Britney Spears made out of candy would look EXCELLENT over our fireplace mantle. Which one of these do you like best?

An old home video seems to prove she was
Was Marilyn Monroe A Marijuana Smoker?

A new video has come to light of Marilyn Monroe chillin’ with some of her homegirls back in the day that seems to show that she and her BFFs were fond of the Mary Jane. The woman who claims to have filmed the home movie, and wishes to remain nameless, says she found the footage in her attic all these years later and thought it’d be fun to share it with the world … sounds like a good friend to me:

Smoking hot. Marilyn Monroe’s latest movie may explain the blonde bombshell’s notoriously bubbly personality. In footage that has just come to light after being forgotten for half a century, the “Some Like it Hot” star is seen puffing on what the owner of the film says is a marijuana joint. “I had it up in my attic all this time,” says the woman who shot the film, basically a home movie. The friend of Marilyn, who doesn’t want to be named publicly, said she regularly hung out with the starlet in the 50s, and thought nothing to be hanging out with her. “Home movies, that’s all it was,” she told NBCNewYork.com. “It was never a big deal for me.” The source, younger than Marilyn at the time and now in her late 60s, says she even rolled the doobie for Monroe, but claims the smoking didn’t have that much of an effect on the starlet. “It was all real casual, it was just friends hanging out,” she said. “She was the same [after smoking] — a little giggly.” The woman worked as office administrator most of her life and didn’t realize the reel-to-reel film could be valuable, until she was put in contact with Manhattan gallery owner Keya Morgan, who has an extensive Marilyn Monroe collection, as well as historical presidential memorabilia. “I’ve seen people with a $2 million [Abraham] Lincoln letter on their wall and I tell them how much it is worth and they’re like, ‘Wow,’” said Morgan, describing it as the “Antiques Roadshow affect.” They released a 90-second clip of the footage to NBC New York today, but the entire clip is set to be auctioned off at a later date. Morgan is now working with the friend of Marilyn, as well as numerous witnesses and retired law-enforcement agents, on a documentary about the star’s untimely demise in 1962, called “Marilyn Monroe: Murder on Fifth Helena Drive.” The listed cause of death at the time was “probable suicide.” “I am certain she was murdered,” said the friend. “The thing I want to get out is what a neat person she really was. She was just a delight, down to earth. If you didn’t know she was an actress, you couldn’t tell.”

I mean, hello, didn’t we all know that Marilyn Monroe was a partygirl? I don’t think this video should come as any big surprise to pretty much anyone … but it is kinda interesting to see MM hangin’ out with her friends smokin’ down on a fat one. It makes her seem more down to Earth. After the jump, check out the 90 sec. vid clip of Marilyn and her friends smokin’ a joint in full …
