"[Ryan Gosling] is [a] dream co-star"
Eva Mendes Gushes About Ryan Gosling To ‘Marie Claire’ Magazine

Eva Mendes, who has been enjoying a romance with fellow actor and co-star Ryan Gosling, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Marie Claire magazine. In her coverstory interview, Eva gushes about how wonderful it is to work with Ryan on a project. I’m assuming that Eva is referred to a film project because if she were referring to a more, ahem, intimate and private project I would think she’d be doing MORE than just gushing … with words ;) Click below to see Eva on the cover of the new issue of Marie Claire and read what she has to say about working with our dear Ryan.

Christina Aguilera Covers ‘Marie Claire’ Magazine

I think it’s safe to say that 2010 was not a great year for popstar-turned-actress Christina Aguilera … not only did her marriage to Jordan Bratman come to an end but her professional career didn’t fare much better. Her album Bionic was deemed a flop and her film debut Burlesque wasn’t well received by critics and audiences. BUT, despite her arrest for public intoxication last year, 2011 turned out to be a better year for Xtina. Her hosting gig on The Voice managed to mute all of the previous year’s negativity and make her a star again. Xtina is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Marie Claire magazine and in her coverstory interview, she talks about her lows … and her highs and lets us know that she is now in a really great place in her life. Check out Xtina‘s coverphoto and read some excerpts from her Marie Claire feature below.

'Glee's Angels
The Ladies Of ‘Glee’ Cover The New Issue Of ‘Marie Claire’ Magazine

Glee stars Amber Riley, Dianna Agron and Lea Michele are all featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Marie Claire magazine. Each lady is squeezed onto one cover and they each also have their own covers. In her interview with the mag, Dianna Agron feels compelled to set the record straight and insist that she and co-star Lea Michele are not dating. Yeah, apparently, some folks think that Dianna and Lea are much closer than friends so I guess it’s time to put the kibosh on those rumors. Check out Dianna‘s interview quotes and a lot of photos of all 3 Glee ladies in the new issue of Marie Claire below.

Miley Cyrus Does ‘Marie Claire’ Magazine

Miley Cyrus is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Marie Claire magazine and while her fairly stunning photospread is likely to get most of the attention, I am more interested in the interview portion of her appearance. Miley‘s interview with Marie Claire is her first since she got busted smoking a bong full of salvia last year. She does talk a bit about the incident and, surprisingly, she sounds genuinely apologetic.

The subject of “The Bong Incident” (which, in case you have been living under a rock, involved a two-and-a-half-minute video of Cyrus smoking a bong filled with salvia, an herb sold legally in many health-food stores, posted on TMZ in December) has come up, and after she says all the things you expect her to say (“I’m not perfect … I made a mistake … I’m disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans …”), I cannot help but set my journalist hat aside for a minute and say, “But do you really think it was a mistake? Obviously college kids your age all over America are smoking bongs with a lot more than salvia in them.” She looks at me with her big blue baby-doll eyes. “But they’re not Miley Cyrus,” she says. “They’re not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for.”

Kids make mistakes … kids do dumb things … Hell, adults do, too. Yes she got busted but at least she apologized and owned up to her actions (unlike some other celebs who always feel victimized and refuse to ever take responsibility). I’m not a Miley fan but I can respect her for this. Now, for those photos … she may have caused quite a stir when she brazenly showed off her bare back in Vanity Fair magazine a couple of years ago but it looks like she’s no longer afraid to show some back skin. She looks lovely in these photos, don’t you think?

"I do things in my own way, but I've never felt any need to rebel."
Emma Watson Does ‘Marie Claire’ Magazine

Popstar Rihanna may be on the cover of the new issue of British Marie Claire magazine but British actress Emma Watson, of Harry Potter fame, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Marie Claire magazine here in the US. Altho Emma‘s MC coverstory is meant to promote the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 film, she spends much of her interview talking about her new life as a university student at Brown:

When Emma Watson arrived at Brown University last year, students reacted with giddy excitement—a bona fide movie star living in their midst!—that was tempered by a genuine desire to respect her privacy. But her fellow freshmen grew up watching the Harry Potter movies, which starred Watson as Harry’s pal Hermione Granger, and sometimes they simply couldn’t restrain themselves. In one class, the professor asked students a question, and Watson raised her hand. Just like the fiercely smart, overachieving, always-right Hermione, Watson gave the correct answer. From the back of the room, one of her classmates called out, “Score 20 points for Gryffindor!” “The first year at Brown was about finding my feet,” she said. “I found a great group of girlfriends, and now that I know how things work and what the professors expect, I’m really excited about going back for my second year, because I feel this time I can relax and enjoy it.” Watson is deeply grateful for the way she’s been treated by her peers. “Brown has a real sense of community, and people are very protective of me,” she said. “They really look out for me; they want me to feel like I’m part of it. I threw my 20th birthday party at Brown, and I didn’t even have to say to anyone not to put pictures on Facebook. Not a single picture went up. That was when I knew I’d found a solid group of friends, and I felt like I belonged.” This sense of comfort is particularly welcome as Watson adjusts to the end of the Potter saga, a job that defined her life for a decade. After the November release of the seventh movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, the series will conclude next July with the release of the eighth and final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II. When Watson finished shooting last June, she was left with a welter of powerful feelings. “My last day was pretty emotional,” she admitted. “It was sad; it’s the end of an era. What an amazing learning experience! I gave everything I could to that role, and I got so much from it.” Now that it’s over, Watson is reveling in the freedom to make changes—starting with a radical haircut that left her nervously fingering the feathery ends of the new pixie style that was inspired by such icons as Mia Farrow, Edie Sedgwick, Jean Seberg, and Audrey Hepburn. “I’ve wanted to do it since I was about 16, and when Harry Potter ended in June, I just needed a change,” Watson said. “It was quite symbolic for me. It’s very short; it was buzzed at the back and on the sides. And it’s really liberating that I can walk out without thinking about it.”

I have to say, I am still MADLY in love with her new short hair’do. She still looks fantastic as a little pixie. LOVE LOVE LOVE. After the jump, check out a few photos from Emma‘s accompanying Marie Claire photospread to see just how fantastic she looks and read a bit more from her interview …

"In England, David and I are big fish in a small pond. But in L.A., we are ...tiny fish"
Victoria Beckham Does ‘Maire Claire’ Magazine

Victoria Beckham, fashion maven wife of soccer superstar David Beckham, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Marie Claire magazine. In her coverstory interview, VB talks about a range of topics … from her work, to her children, to her husband … the usual … but this interview reads more down-homey rather than stiff and off-putting. Here is our first look at Vicki B. on the cover of Marie Claire and some excerpts from her coverstory interview:

Victoria Beckham throws open the paneled Giambattista Valli coat draped around her shoulders to reveal what is hidden underneath: her whippet-like body encased in a kind of dominatrix corset-cum-bustier rigged with bad-girl garters. “Take the pic-cha! Take the pic-cha!” she coaxes — akimbo now — tossing her cell phone to an assistant … I stare at the “pic-cha” that she is now more closely examining on her cell phone screen. “I’m going to send this to David and see what he thinks,” she whispers. “Thinks?” I ask. “His brain is not the body part that is going to respond to that image. You’re really e-mailing it to him? I mean, one would assume he’s seen you like this before.” Beckham laughs as she pushes the Send button. Yes, laughs. Though she doesn’t often smile in public, in private she’s generous with her humor. “Contrary to the rumors of my wearing sweats around the house, this is how I greet David when he comes home each day,” she says, her voice losing its burnished Hepburn purr and taking on a fake hauteur. “The only difference is that I have a leashed Doberman in each of my hands. And when dressed like this, I insist my children call me Mommy Dearest.” With that, she strides, in character, out onto the folly’s lawn and begins to pose. An almost completely different person greets me the next morning for breakfast in her temporary apartment at the Metropolitan hotel on London’s Park Lane. Beckham is barefoot on the floor in a pair of ripped jeans and a tank top through which a lime-green bra peeks out. Her hair is pinned haphazardly atop her head. Busy untangling her travel jewelry — mostly strands of gold necklaces and bracelets — she tosses each untangled strand into a small, nondescript cardboard box. “I look a bit different than yesterday,” she says, smiling at my reaction to how fresh she looks so early in the morning, how un-made-up. But she’s already been awake for several hours, having seen David and their boys off to the airport for a camping trip back home in America where they have lived — in Los Angeles — since 2007 … “There are rumors that we want to move back to the U.K., but we’re so happy in America I actually can’t see us ever leaving … People ask me how long it took to adapt. Twenty minutes. I’m a very driven, ambitious, positive person. But I’m a spiritual person as well. I believe in creative visualization. So for me to go to America — which I find such a positive place — well, I took to it like a duck to water. “In England, David and I are big fish in a small pond. But in L.A., we are tiny, tiny, tiny fish in a big pond. I mean, let’s be honest about it. When you’ve got Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes living down the street as your neighbors, who gives a shit about Victoria and David? Bottom line: I can relax in L.A. I think I’m the only person in that town who doesn’t want to act,” she says. “I was an OK singer. I was an OK dancer. But acting? Never could do it.” She has happily discovered where her real talents lie. She has more than just a knack for wearing clothes; she has a gift for designing them. Beckham is not a celebrity dilettante dillydallying in her latest hobby. Deadly serious, disciplined, she has decided to channel all of her creative energy into her fashion company, named Victoria Beckham. She is determined to make it a worldwide presence … Though they might now consider themselves tiny fish in the big pond of L.A., they still would be quite a catch for the church. “We aren’t Scientologists,” she says. “We really don’t know very much about it. I mean, Tom and Katie — they’ve mentioned it to us. But, no, they didn’t try to hook us and reel us in. It never really crops up. I’m very close to Katie, but with us, it’s all about girl talk … Katie is so talented and such an incredible mother, spinning plates like all us working mums do.”

Firstly, I’m very glad to hear that Les Beckhams are planning to stay in the US for the foreseeable future. Second, I’m glad to hear that Les Beckhams haven’t been “reeled in” by Scientology. I don’t even know if I can really take the idea of either Posh or Becks pontificating on the notions of Thetan Levels or Xenu. Thirdly, have I mentioned how happy I am that David Beckham has no plans to move out of the US? After the jump, check out a couple more photos from VB‘s Marie Claire photospread and read some excerpts from a different interview Vicki B. did exclusively for MarieClaire.com

"When you start out young, people get attached to who you are at 6 years old"
Dakota Fanning Does ‘Marie Claire’ Magazine

Dakota Fanning, who currently stars in the sequel film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Marie Claire magazine. In her coverstory interview, Dakota opens up about her work in The Runaways and in Twilight and addresses the way that audiences see her in these films. Here is our first look at Dakota‘s MC coverphoto and some excerpts from the coverstory article:

All in a moment, Fanning went from being an adorable if talented “child star” to the full-fledged genuine article, and critics took notice. Reviewing The Runaways in The New York Times, A.O. Scott gushed: “Ms. Fanning, who has shown herself a remarkably disciplined and self-aware actress almost since toddlerhood, displays heartbreaking vulnerability as well as frightening poise.” The Denver Post called her performance “uncorked.” The message was unmistakable: She had popped … One lasting friendship to emerge from the experience was with Kristen Stewart, the 20-year-old Twilight lead who played Joan Jett to Fanning’s Currie. According to both young women, re-enacting the intimate friendship between Jett and Currie brought them close instantly, and a mutual respect has kept them that way. “Dakota is so unfaultingly steady,” Stewart says. “In most cases, I feel like she’s older than me. It’s only when she starts talking about boys that I remember how young she is.” (No, Fanning doesn’t have a boyfriend. So far, she says, there has been “nothing serious.”) The two, who briefly shared the screen in Twilight: New Moon, reunited in this summer’s Eclipse, the third installment of the series, with Fanning reprising her role as a diminutive child vampire in a long cape and Mary Janes … Sixteen is an age of ambivalence, a time of lingering on the threshold of adulthood with one foot safely in the realm of childhood. Some of Fanning’s recent choices seem calculated to project the message that she is no longer the wise child who debuted opposite Sean Penn’s mentally disabled character in I Am Sam when she was 6 … To her astonishment, people seemed not to be able to distinguish between the real Dakota Fanning, then 13, and her character on-screen. “When you start out young, people get really attached to who you are at 6 years old,” Fanning says. “I hope that The Runaways was kind of a moment to be like, ‘You know, I’m not that young little girl anymore, but I’m still not all grown up, either.’” There is a deliberate, patient rhythm to her ambition; right now she’s looking for a project to do with her sister, who’s 12 and is about to appear in Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere, due out later this year. Fanning is on the brink, and she knows it … “As you get older, there’s so much more that you can do in films,” she says. “I’ve never wanted to rush that; I’ve always wanted to do what’s right for my age, but as you approach 18, a whole new world opens up to you as an actor, and I really look forward to that.”

IMHO, not only is Dakota hugely talented but she is also a very bright young woman. When you see someone like Lindsay Lohan, who could’ve been a huge success had she not pissed away every chance she got with her reckless and irresponsible behavior, and then you see Dakota Fanning in comparison you can understand that not every child star succumbs to “dangers of Hollywood”. It is a pleasure to watch Dakota grow up and continue to find success with each new project. At such a young age, the sky is the limit … she seems smart enough to understand that and take full advantage of the opportunities that come her way. After the jump, check out one more photo from Dakota‘s new Marie Claire photoshoot …
