Yay!! Great news to share today!! I have it on very good authority that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon gave birth to their babies just a few hours ago and you are NEVER going to believe what went down in the delivery room. As you may recall, Mimi and Nick made it very clear that they were having twins — a boy and a girl — but that turned out not entirely to be the case. The couple did have a boy and a girl … but also another girl! I have it on **very good authority** that Mr. & Mrs. Cannon have already named “dem babies” … find out what their TRIPLETS are named below.

The very pregnant Mariah Carey, who was briefly hospitalized recently after going into false contractions, decided to decorate her very large baby bump and then share the photo with all of her Twitter followers. Last Sunday, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon hosted a Pink and Blue baby shower for the twin babies they are expecting and yesterday, Mimi posted a heartfelt message of thanks to her fans for the lovely gifts they sent her. Last week we learned that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were having a baby shower for their incubating twin babies this past Sunday March 6 and today we learn that Mimi has updated her official website with a message of thanks for all the people who attended the shower as well as those who did not attend the shower but still sent gifts. In early February we learned from Life & Style magazine that Mariah Carey was rumored to be carrying a baby girl AND a baby boy in her womb. Today we learn that L&S was right … because the invitation to Mimi‘s baby shower, which will take place this Sunday, makes it very clear that she is having a boy and a girl.

In mid-December, Nick Cannon officially confirmed to the world that he and wife Mariah Carey were pregnant with twins. Today, Life & Style magazine is making the claim that Mimi will be giving birth to a boy and a girl. Now, let’s be real here … whether or not Mariah will have a boy and a girl, two boys or two girls is anyone’s guess … but, let’s entertain for a moment that L&S might be right … and wouldn’t that be so cool?

First, the very pregs Mariah Carey referred to the children she is carrying in her womb as “they” leading people to speculate that she is having twins … then, hubby Nick Cannon flat out denied that the couple are having twins. Today, we hear from Nick again in a new radio interview and he is now telling us something different. Nick Cannon has come out and finally confirmed that yes, Mimi is carrying twins in her baby bump:

Ever since Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon confirmed their pregnancy news, the world has been wondering: Is it a boy or a girl? Maybe even multiples? On Thursday, Cannon himself put rumors to rest on his radio show, telling listeners, “We are having twins.” The two have been cautious about revealing too many details since they’ve had a “long journey” to parenthood, which included a miscarriage in 2008. But when President Barack Obama happened to ask about her pregnancy, Carey just couldn’t keep a secret. While performing at TNT’s Christmas in Washington 2010 on Sunday, Carey ran into President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama backstage. “They, ironically enough, questioned my wife about, you know, ‘So, what are you having, are you having twins?’ ” Cannon said Thursday morning on his 92.3 Rollin’ With Nick Cannon radio show. “And at this point she hadn’t told anybody anything because doctors advised us to keep it to ourselves until we get further along,” he said. “And because of the excitement, because of the emotion, she was overwhelmed [and] she shared with the President and First Lady that we are having twins.”

Aww … I love it! My guess is that Mr. & Mrs. Cannon prolly wouldn’t've confirmed the twins until Mimi gave birth if it wasn’t for the nosiness of the Obamas. To be honest, I don’t care what inspired them to spill the beans … this is just happy, happy news! We do NOT know if the twins will be identical or fraternal nor do we know when Mariah is due to give birth. But we do know she and Nick will be the happy parents of TWO adorable babies very soon … I cannot wait to meet them :D
