Amid reports that the couple are headed for Splitsville, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony jetted off to their home territory of Puerto Rico ahead of the New Year in order to celebrate their happy love together … or whatevs. The couple made a very public showing at the inauguration of the new Governor of Puerto Rico Luis Fortuno yesterday, making sure to show the world that they are still very much together … or whatevs:

As you can see in these photos, the couple were both wearing their wedding rings (which are so full of bling that they can be seen with the naked eye from space) and were careful to show them off as much as possible (like in the solo photo of Jen where she appears to be going, Oh, my huge wedding ring that is a symbol of my love for my husband is so big that it always gets in the way when I’m trying to brush the hair from my face). The couple even shared a smooch during the inauguration ceremony … looks like true love to me! Honestly, I think all of this show would be much more believable if it weren’t so obviously shoved in our faces … the disingenuousness only makes it seem faker. I guess time will tell. In recent days, new reports have come out that suggest that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are on the verge of divorce after folks started noticing that the pair were spending an awful lot of time apart. When J. Lo stopped wearing her wedding ring, the speculation intensified … one report even went to far as to claim the couple were planning to end their 4 year marriage on Valentine’s Day this coming February. In spite of these reports (or perhaps, because of these reports), LopAnthony have reportedly jetted off together to ring in the New Year together in Puerto Rico. Additionally, a rep for J. Lo has publicly denied the VD report:

So much for Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s big Valentine’s Day demise. (Or so we’re being led to believe…) In the face of reports that the duo have been fighting and are headed for a split, E! News has learned exclusively that J.Lo and her hubby are spending a few days together in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Two days ago, Lopez and Anthony met up with friends and family for dinner at Marmalade, a trendy, upscale restaurant in the old-town section of San Juan. “Jennifer and Marc looked very happy, so it is hard for me to believe the rumors that their marriage is in trouble,” the eatery’s general manager, Trace Donaldson, tells E! News. “They were laughing and seemed to be having a great time.” The couple were joined by a group that included Lopez’s sister, Lynda. On Monday, the Out of Sight star’s rep denied to E! a New York Daily News report that had the seemingly cozy couple planning to announce their breakup right after Anthony’s Feb. 14 show at Madison Square Garden. “There is no merit to the article,” the rep said. Lopez was spotted Dec. 26 boarding a private flight straight to Puerto Rico out of Van Nuys Airport.

The only thing that looked suspicious to me was all that time that the couple were spending apart. There were quite a few high profile events that J. Lo attended all by herself … so either Marc decided to stay home with the kiddies or the pair were not interested in going out together. I think it’s also kinda telling when a celeb decides to go out in public not wearing their wedding ring — especially when it’s big a honkin’ diamond ring that would be noticed if it wasn’t worn. But, all of this is clearly speculation … tho, I didn’t think that Madonna and Guy Ritchie were so close to dunzoness near the end of their relationship and, well, look at them now. I suspect that the couple will stay together well beyond Valentine’s Day … even IF they are trying to plan a good time to break up, they most assuredly will not do so on VD.

Say it ain’t so!!! Could it be that the supposed happily married Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are on the verge of dunzoness? According to US Weekly magazine, yes … they are. Last week, J. Lo — in all her Diva Latina glory — showed up at the Hollywood premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button sans hubby Marc Anthony which immediately raised red flags and set tongues wagging that there may be trouble in paradise. In a new US Weekly coverstory this week, the mag contends that the couple have reached the “breaking point” and are very near calling off their 4-year marriage:

Rumors swirled that Lopez’s marriage was on the rocks after she showed up to the premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last week without her 8-carat diamond engagement ring, wedding band – or ever present husband, Marc Anthony (who was spotted in Las Vegas sans wedding band the weekend before). Multiple sources confirm to to Us Weekly their marriage is at a breaking point. “They both didn’t wear their rings on purpose,” a mutual pal of the married couple of four years (who renewed their vows in October) tells Us. “Nothing Jennifer does is without purpose.” While Anthony’s rep insists to Us, “They are doing great,” a source tells Us deep trouble has been brewing. “He’s very, very controlling of her,” a close Anthony pal tells Us. “The skirts aren’t as short. You don’t see so much of that booty anymore.” The new Us Weekly also reports that Anthony also picks out Lopez’s clothes and keeps tabs on her phone calls. But Lopez — who once claimed she “loved getting his opinions” — has become less interested in his approval since the birth of their 10-month-old twins, Max and Emme. “She walks in from work, washes her hands and grabs the babies,” a longtime friend tells Us. “With him, it’s almost like, ‘Ugh, they’re crying again?’” Another problem: Lopez — who once commanded $15 million per film — “blames Marc for her career going down the tubes,” says a mutual pal, adding that she’s bitter about the failure of their 2006 drama, El Cantante, which only grossed $7.5 million. (Her 2002 flick Maid in Manhattan earned over $94 million.) “Jennifer looked around and said, ‘This is my life now? I’m a Long Island housewife?’” a pal says. “She hates that everything she worked for went down the tubes.” … Anthony has also been badmouthing his wife. One night after their tense family Thanksgiving in which the couple “didn’t sit together,” Anthony hit NYC hotspots Bungalow 8 and Marquee, where he was spotted with his hand on a woman’s thigh and overheard complaining about his wife to a group of women, “telling them, ‘She’s making me miserable,’” a source says. His club spree didn’t stop there: The next night, he was photographed by TMZ.com partying sans wedding band with pal Eva Longoria Parker and Russell Crowe in Las Vegas. (A source says, “According to Jennifer, he didn’t cheat.”) The pair, who hadn’t been spotted together since Oct. 23 — and the very public removal of their wedding bands — had dinner Tuesday at Beverly Hills restaurant Luau, which they left holding hands.

I am always suspicious of magazine coverstories with headlines like “The Rings Are OFF!” but, in all honesty, I wouldn’t be that surprised if J. Lo and Marc ended up calling it quits. Something about their pairing never felt right for me … they got together milliseconds after Ben Affleck dumped her and Marc divorced his then-wife Dayanara Torres. I just never truly believed that he was right for her. J. Lo’s marriage to Marc was her third and it wouldn’t truly shock me if it doesn’t turn out to her her last. As much as I think that Jennifer Lopez might find true happiness with someone else, it’s a shame that things did work out with Marc Anthony considering she finally gave birth to the babies that she’s always wanted. I suppose time will tell what is really going on with these two … refusing to wear wedding rings is really a very telling sign that something’s amiss. Isn’t that how Madonna and Guy Ritchie started showing the world that they weren’t destined to last?

David Beckham and Marc Anthony left the wives at home last night and made their way out to the Staples Center together to cheer on the LA Lakers basketball team. While the photos aren’t particularly interesting in and of themselves, I am quite taken with the stark side-by-side comparison of the two men:

Seriously, if I were Marc Anthony I would never, ever want to be photographed next to David Beckham … ever. I’m just saying. BTW, the Lakers beat the Clippers 106-88.

Yesterday I posted a newslink reporting that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony decided to renew their wedding vows in a spur-of-the-moment ceremony in the wee hours of Sunday morning at Caesars Palace’s Forum Tower Penthouse. Today, People magazine has all of the inside deets from the impromptu ceremony (which was a joint wedding ceremony with NY Mets player Carlos Beltran and his wife Jessica, it turns out). Here is a pic of LopAnthony in Vegas over the weekend in the hours before they said their I Dos … again:

When it came to saying their “I dos” again, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony doubled the fun, joining New York Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran and his wife Jessica for a joint ceremony, PEOPLE has learned. “Carlos gave his wife a specially engraved ring and gave Marc and Jennifer special rings as gifts,” a source told PEOPLE exclusively. “Carlos and Jessica renewed their vows first, then Jennifer and Marc went.” The vows came after a private dinner at Bradley Ogden and a good night rolling the dice. “They were both winning at the craps table and Marc kept saying that it was going to be a lucky night,” the source said. And as luck would have it, it was “nearly flawless,” added the source. “Initially, they were supposed to do the ceremony outside on the suite’s balcony but it was too cold, so they had to move it inside. That was the only thing that didn’t go according to plan.” Inside, the couples were wed in the Caesars Palace’s newly renovated Forum Tower Penthouse in the suite’s rotunda. The suite only reopened Saturday, making Lopez and Anthony the first people to stay there since the renovation. “Marc actually said the suite was so beautiful that it deserved it’s own zip code,” the source said. “He thought it was perfect.” Wearing a black dress, Lopez looked “beautiful” as 12 people witnessed the ceremony, the source said. “Her parents didn’t even see it because they were with the babies.” Following the nuptials, a butler opened a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne for the newly re-married couples.

Ahh … such are the lifestyles of the rich and famous. I suppose there is a smidge of romance to all of this spontaneity. While I’ll be the first to confess that I never really saw J. Lo and Marc together as a couple it is very clear that they are and have always been crazy in love with one another. Now that the couple have newborn twin babies to add to their happiness … well, I really can’t do anything other than wish them congrats and much more love in their lives together. Celeb couples Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony and Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves made their way out to Milan, Italy for Fashion Week there and made an appearance en masse at the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2009 show. If I remember correctly, Matthew is the spokesperson for D&G’s The One fragrance and J. Lo is just besties with the designers. Gah, even Marc Anthony looks a’ight in these pictures. J. Lo looks divine with her überbeyotch hairdo (not unlike the look that Top Design judge and Elle Decor editor Margaret Russell rocks on a weekly basis) and Matthew, well, he is in a shirt and suit … we should be happy he dressed for the occasion. These are great pics … and everyone looks so happy and friendly. Yeah, that’s all I got.

This past Thursday we saw a couple pics of Jennifer Lopez flying solo (with only her security detail/entourage in tow) in St. Tropez just days after she completed the Nautica Malibu Triathlon. It looked as if J. Lo had embarked on a vacay all by her lonesome to rest up from her bizzy weekend last weekend but it now appears that she is lonesome no longer. Jenny met up with her hubby Marc Anthony in Portofino, Italy yesterday as some sort of extended 40th birthday celebration for him … here are a couple of pics of the happy couple enjoying Italy together:

Ugh, as much as I love me some J. Lo, I really hate it when she dresses up like a 50 year old woman. I know that she’s going for a certain look when she wraps herself up like this but this matronly look does NOTHING for her. It is nice seeing her so happy, tho. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to her love for zombie Marc but seeing her look this happy is all I really need … I guess. Yeah, he really hit the jackpot with her.
