Yesterday we learned that Jennifer Lopez started celebrating her 40th birthday at the stroke of midnight Thursday night/Friday morning and enjoyed a lovely surprise birthday dinner party with her hubby Marc Anthony Friday night in NYC. But, the party didn’t stop there … Marc orchestrated a second surprise party called An Evening for Lola for his beloved wife which took place last night at the Edison Ballroom. Clearly, J. Lo was overcome with emotion as the soiree in her honor brought tears to her eyes:

My guess is that this second surprise party really did the trick since J. Lo was treated to a first surprise party on Friday night at the Hotel Griffou in Greenwich Village. She prolly wasn’t expecting a second, more elaborate event at the Edison Ballroom the day after. It’s clear from the emotion on her face that she was overwhelmed with love. While some folks dread their 40th birthday, it really looks like J. Lo‘s hubby made sure that she embraced and really celebrated the milestone. Who knew that zombies could be so romantic and sweet? It really looks like J. Lo had herself a pretty fantastic birthday this year.

She got the party started at the stroke of midnight when her compatriots from her new film The Back-Up Plan surprised her on the NYC set with a massive birthday cake … with her face on it:

At midnight this morning, the singer-actress — who turns 40 today — celebrated with husband Marc Anthony and the cast and crew of The Back-Up Plan on the flick’s New York City set. She was all smiles while toasting with champagne and blowing out the candles on the giant chocolate cake, which featured a huge photo of herself. Lopez — who donned an off-the-shoulder top — also hugged crew members who presented her with a bouquet of white flowers. “Alex, make a toast!” Lopez is heard saying to her costar Alex O’Loughlin in a video of the party. “Happy birthday. Welcome back, baby! To Jennifer!” he says, holding up a bottle of champagne.

If Jennifer Lopez had been hoping to let her 40th birthday slip by unnoticed, she was out of luck. The actress, who spent the day working on the set of latest film The Back-Up Plan, was last night treated to a glamorous surprise birthday party. Organised by husband Marc Anthony, details of the party at Hotel Griffou in Greenwich Village, New York, were kept under wraps – but there was no mistaking the birthday girl as she made her arrival. The mother-of-two looked stunning in a silver gown and statement diamond earrings. The figure-hugging fabric made the most of her enviable body, while the shimmering shade set off her tan. Marc Anthony looked proud as he posed with his wife outside the venue, his arm never leaving her side. It is believed that he was trying to out-do her efforts after she threw him a star-studded birthday party for his 40th last year.

It’s nice to know that LopAnthony still like to try and surprise one another … it’s a sure sign that they are very much in lurve. J. Lo looked amazing in her silver dress but I’d expect nothing less from La Diva Latina herself. It’s pretty crazy to think that the fly girl we met on In Living Color all those years ago has grown into a 40-year old wife and mother of two … and she’s still going strong. Happy Birthday, J. Lo!

Here are a few new photos of Jennifer Lopez and her co-star Alex O’Loughlin on the NYC set of their new film The Back-Up Plan which is currently in production. As you can see, the on-screen couple have themselves a couple of twin babies who are supercute … they make a nice fake family, don’t you think?

In all honesty, J. Lo looks much better when she’s paired up with Alex O’Loughlin than she does with her real zombie-like hubby Marc Anthony. BUT, sometimes fiction is better than truth. On the LopAnthony front, J. Lo joined Marc at a press conference to announce to the world that they are now part-owners of the Miami Dolphins football team. Woot! I love that Jennifer Lopez is finally gettin’ her booty back to work after birthin’ those babies last year. She’s been away for far too long. And even tho I’m not the biggest Marc Anthony fan in the world, I think it’s really sweet that he swung by the set to visit with the missus. Yesterday we saw pics of hubby Freddie Prinze, Jr. doing the same for Sarah Michelle Gellar. Here’s hoping we’ll get to see more of J. Lo on the scene now that she’s back to work again … but Marc can stay home next time ;)

Back in December, we began to hear the first rumblings that the near 4-year marriage of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony was on the rocks (for various reasons) and a report began to circulate that contended that LopAnthony were planning to announce their break-up and divorce on Valentine’s Day, from the stage of Marc‘s VD concert in NYC. In the weeks, since those reports began to spread, LopAnthony have done everything they could to try and show that the couple are still very much together … J. Lo even started wearing her wedding ring again … in public! Well, Marc‘s Valentine’s Day concert at Madison Square Garden went off without a hitch and the apparently happily married couple DID not announce their break-up from the concert stage. In fact they did just the opposite — J. Lo and children Max & Emme joined daddy Marc on stage to show the world just how happy they all are together:

And afterward, once the kids were put to bed, the couple hit the streets of NYC to celebrate the rest of Valentine’s Day together. Here are photos of the couple as they made their way to a romantic VD dinner together last night at Cipriani in NYC’s SoHo neighborhood:

Now, just because the family put on happy faces at the concert and the couple made a show of going out together for Valentine’s Day dinner doesn’t necessarily mean that everything is happy in LopAnthonyland … it, at the very least, means that the couple are not interested in playing into the hands of gossips and rumormongers. I personally do not put much credence on these sorts of reports of break-ups … I tend to err on the side of caution and positivity. Then again, I’m never really very surprised when folks break-up after rumors begin to swell. I just tend to hope for the best and wait for the worst. At this point, LopAnthony appear to be happily attached … I guess we’ll have to see if that attachment is everlasting.

Amid reports that the couple are headed for Splitsville, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony jetted off to their home territory of Puerto Rico ahead of the New Year in order to celebrate their happy love together … or whatevs. The couple made a very public showing at the inauguration of the new Governor of Puerto Rico Luis Fortuno yesterday, making sure to show the world that they are still very much together … or whatevs:

As you can see in these photos, the couple were both wearing their wedding rings (which are so full of bling that they can be seen with the naked eye from space) and were careful to show them off as much as possible (like in the solo photo of Jen where she appears to be going, Oh, my huge wedding ring that is a symbol of my love for my husband is so big that it always gets in the way when I’m trying to brush the hair from my face). The couple even shared a smooch during the inauguration ceremony … looks like true love to me! Honestly, I think all of this show would be much more believable if it weren’t so obviously shoved in our faces … the disingenuousness only makes it seem faker. I guess time will tell. In recent days, new reports have come out that suggest that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are on the verge of divorce after folks started noticing that the pair were spending an awful lot of time apart. When J. Lo stopped wearing her wedding ring, the speculation intensified … one report even went to far as to claim the couple were planning to end their 4 year marriage on Valentine’s Day this coming February. In spite of these reports (or perhaps, because of these reports), LopAnthony have reportedly jetted off together to ring in the New Year together in Puerto Rico. Additionally, a rep for J. Lo has publicly denied the VD report:

So much for Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s big Valentine’s Day demise. (Or so we’re being led to believe…) In the face of reports that the duo have been fighting and are headed for a split, E! News has learned exclusively that J.Lo and her hubby are spending a few days together in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Two days ago, Lopez and Anthony met up with friends and family for dinner at Marmalade, a trendy, upscale restaurant in the old-town section of San Juan. “Jennifer and Marc looked very happy, so it is hard for me to believe the rumors that their marriage is in trouble,” the eatery’s general manager, Trace Donaldson, tells E! News. “They were laughing and seemed to be having a great time.” The couple were joined by a group that included Lopez’s sister, Lynda. On Monday, the Out of Sight star’s rep denied to E! a New York Daily News report that had the seemingly cozy couple planning to announce their breakup right after Anthony’s Feb. 14 show at Madison Square Garden. “There is no merit to the article,” the rep said. Lopez was spotted Dec. 26 boarding a private flight straight to Puerto Rico out of Van Nuys Airport.

The only thing that looked suspicious to me was all that time that the couple were spending apart. There were quite a few high profile events that J. Lo attended all by herself … so either Marc decided to stay home with the kiddies or the pair were not interested in going out together. I think it’s also kinda telling when a celeb decides to go out in public not wearing their wedding ring — especially when it’s big a honkin’ diamond ring that would be noticed if it wasn’t worn. But, all of this is clearly speculation … tho, I didn’t think that Madonna and Guy Ritchie were so close to dunzoness near the end of their relationship and, well, look at them now. I suspect that the couple will stay together well beyond Valentine’s Day … even IF they are trying to plan a good time to break up, they most assuredly will not do so on VD.

Say it ain’t so!!! Could it be that the supposed happily married Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are on the verge of dunzoness? According to US Weekly magazine, yes … they are. Last week, J. Lo — in all her Diva Latina glory — showed up at the Hollywood premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button sans hubby Marc Anthony which immediately raised red flags and set tongues wagging that there may be trouble in paradise. In a new US Weekly coverstory this week, the mag contends that the couple have reached the “breaking point” and are very near calling off their 4-year marriage:

Rumors swirled that Lopez’s marriage was on the rocks after she showed up to the premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last week without her 8-carat diamond engagement ring, wedding band – or ever present husband, Marc Anthony (who was spotted in Las Vegas sans wedding band the weekend before). Multiple sources confirm to to Us Weekly their marriage is at a breaking point. “They both didn’t wear their rings on purpose,” a mutual pal of the married couple of four years (who renewed their vows in October) tells Us. “Nothing Jennifer does is without purpose.” While Anthony’s rep insists to Us, “They are doing great,” a source tells Us deep trouble has been brewing. “He’s very, very controlling of her,” a close Anthony pal tells Us. “The skirts aren’t as short. You don’t see so much of that booty anymore.” The new Us Weekly also reports that Anthony also picks out Lopez’s clothes and keeps tabs on her phone calls. I am always suspicious of magazine coverstories with headlines like “The Rings Are OFF!” but, in all honesty, I wouldn’t be that surprised if J. Lo and Marc ended up calling it quits. Something about their pairing never felt right for me … they got together milliseconds after Ben Affleck dumped her and Marc divorced his then-wife Dayanara Torres. I just never truly believed that he was right for her. J. Lo‘s marriage to Marc was her third and it wouldn’t truly shock me if it doesn’t turn out to her her last. As much as I think that Jennifer Lopez might find true happiness with someone else, it’s a shame that things did work out with Marc Anthony considering she finally gave birth to the babies that she’s always wanted. I suppose time will tell what is really going on with these two … refusing to wear wedding rings is really a very telling sign that something’s amiss. Isn’t that how Madonna and Guy Ritchie started showing the world that they weren’t destined to last?

David Beckham and Marc Anthony left the wives at home last night and made their way out to the Staples Center together to cheer on the LA Lakers basketball team. While the photos aren’t particularly interesting in and of themselves, I am quite taken with the stark side-by-side comparison of the two men:

Yesterday I posted a newslink reporting that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony decided to renew their wedding vows in a spur-of-the-moment ceremony in the wee hours of Sunday morning at Caesars Palace‘s Forum Tower Penthouse. Today, People magazine has all of the inside deets from the impromptu ceremony (which was a joint wedding ceremony with NY Mets player Carlos Beltran and his wife Jessica, it turns out). Here is a pic of LopAnthony in Vegas over the weekend in the hours before they said their I Dos … again:

When it came to saying their “I dos” again, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony doubled the fun, joining New York Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran and his wife Jessica for a joint ceremony, PEOPLE has learned. “Carlos gave his wife a specially engraved ring and gave Marc and Jennifer special rings as gifts,” a source told PEOPLE exclusively. “Carlos and Jessica renewed their vows first, then Jennifer and Marc went.” The vows came after a private dinner at Bradley Ogden and a good night rolling the dice. “They were both winning at the craps table and Marc kept saying that it was going to be a lucky night,” the source said. And as luck would have it, it was “nearly flawless,” added the source. “Initially, they were supposed to do the ceremony outside on the suite’s balcony but it was too cold, so they had to move it inside. That was the only thing that didn’t go according to plan.” Inside, the couples were wed in the Caesars Palace’s newly renovated Forum Tower Penthouse in the suite’s rotunda. The suite only reopened Saturday, making Lopez and Anthony the first people to stay there since the renovation. “Marc actually said the suite was so beautiful that it deserved it’s own zip code,” the source said. “He thought it was perfect.” Wearing a black dress, Lopez looked “beautiful” as 12 people witnessed the ceremony, the source said. “Her parents didn’t even see it because they were with the babies.” Following the nuptials, a butler opened a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne for the newly re-married couples.

Ahh … such are the lifestyles of the rich and famous. I suppose there is a smidge of romance to all of this spontaneity. While I’ll be the first to confess that I never really saw J. Lo and Marc together as a couple it is very clear that they are and have always been crazy in love with one another. Now that the couple have newborn twin babies to add to their happiness … well, I really can’t do anything other than wish them congrats and much more love in their lives together. Congrats, again, LopAnthony!
