Since buying a stake in the Miami Dolphins in July, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have been bringing a touch of A-list glamour to the American football scene. But arriving to watch their men play the New Orleans Saints in Florida yesterday afternoon, the Latin singer’s smart outfit was let down by his incredibly sweaty armpits. Falling prey to the sweltering [87.8 °F] sunshine, the 41-year-old couldn’t escape the unsightly sweat patches. While his 40-year-old wife showed off her curves in a black sundress and platform heels, it was Marc garnering the most attention with his damp shirt. Due to the heat, Jennifer’s face was also glistening with sweat, but it looked more like a flattering healthy glow. Marc and Jennifer have become regular attendees at Miami Dolphin games since they purchased a minority stake in the game over the summer. Unfortunately for the couple, the Saints won the game 46-34.

I mean, I realize it can get hot in Florida but other people managed to walk the red carpet without sweating thru their clothes. I can’t even imagine what it must be like for J. Lo to nuzzle up against her husband and get an armpit (or two) of stanky pit sweat. GROSS!! Heaven forbid that Marc put his arm around his lady love … he’d prolly drown the poor woman! UGH. Mebbe Marc, who is now part owner of the Dolphins, was sweating because his team has been playing like shit every since he bought ownership in the team? Whatever the case may be, he really needs to keep that shizz in check … it’s difficult enough to see pics of his zombielookin’ness without the pit stains … ICK!

Now, either LopAnthony bought themselves a lemon of a football team OR they are just bad luck … but still, it’s really early in the football season and the Dolphins have plenty of time to turn things around. I do find it a bit comical that the Dolphins need to host red carpet parties now that LopAnthony are part-owners of the team … I doubt the actual players get such a reception when they show up to play. Here’s hoping the Dolphins‘ luck turns around quickly … it’d really suck if they ended up turning out to be a bunch of pigeons.

My guess is that this second surprise party really did the trick since J. Lo was treated to a first surprise party on Friday night at the Hotel Griffou in Greenwich Village. She prolly wasn’t expecting a second, more elaborate event at the Edison Ballroom the day after. It’s clear from the emotion on her face that she was overwhelmed with love. While some folks dread their 40th birthday, it really looks like J. Lo’s hubby made sure that she embraced and really celebrated the milestone. Who knew that zombies could be so romantic and sweet? It really looks like J. Lo had herself a pretty fantastic birthday this year.

Jennifer Lopez got the party started early for her 40th birthday. At midnight this morning, the singer-actress — who turns 40 today — celebrated with husband Marc Anthony and the cast and crew of The Back-Up Plan on the flick’s New York City set. She was all smiles while toasting with champagne and blowing out the candles on the giant chocolate cake, which featured a huge photo of herself. Lopez — who donned an off-the-shoulder top — also hugged crew members who presented her with a bouquet of white flowers. “Alex, make a toast!” Lopez is heard saying to her costar Alex O’Loughlin in a video of the party. “Happy birthday. Welcome back, baby! To Jennifer!” he says, holding up a bottle of champagne.

The actress, who spent the day working on the set of latest film The Back-Up Plan, was last night treated to a glamorous surprise birthday party. Organised by husband Marc Anthony, details of the party at Hotel Griffou in Greenwich Village, New York, were kept under wraps – but there was no mistaking the birthday girl as she made her arrival. The mother-of-two looked stunning in a silver gown and statement diamond earrings. The figure-hugging fabric made the most of her enviable body, while the shimmering shade set off her tan. Marc Anthony looked proud as he posed with his wife outside the venue, his arm never leaving her side. It is believed that he was trying to out-do her efforts after she threw him a star-studded birthday party for his 40th last year.

It’s nice to know that LopAnthony still like to try and surprise one another … it’s a sure sign that they are very much in lurve. J. Lo looked amazing in her silver dress but I’d expect nothing less from La Diva Latina herself. It’s pretty crazy to think that the fly girl we met on In Living Color all those years ago has grown into a 40-year old wife and mother of two … and she’s still going strong. Happy Birthday, J. Lo!

In all honesty, J. Lo looks much better when she’s paired up with Alex O’Loughlin than she does with her real zombie-like hubby Marc Anthony. BUT, sometimes fiction is better than truth. On the LopAnthony front, J. Lo joined Marc at a press conference to announce to the world that they are now part-owners of the Miami Dolphins football team. Latin singer Marc Anthony has acquired a minority interest in the Miami Dolphins football team, joining entertainers Jimmy Buffett and Gloria Estefan who also are associated with the storied sports franchise. Anthony, who has sold more than 10 million records in his career and is married to actress and singer Jennifer Lopez, said on Tuesday that he grew up in a sports-oriented family and dreamed of being part of a franchise. “It’s just a dream come true, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and a no-brainer,” Anthony said in a conference call with reporters. The Dolphins, whose majority owner and general partner is real estate developer Stephen Ross, played their first game in 1966 and are the only professional football team to have enjoyed a perfect season, winning all their games and the Super Bowl in the 1972/1973 season. Anthony expects to be an active part of the Dolphins organization working in Miami to drum up community support for the team. Estefan and her husband, record producer Emilio Estefan, also are minority partners in the team, and “Margaritaville” singer Buffet recently announced a promotional partnership that included renaming Dolphin Stadium to LandShark Stadium, named after Buffett’s LandShark lager. Anthony’s involvement with the Dolphins was announced at a news conference in New York City. Financial details were not disclosed.

I mean … is this good news for the Miami Dolphins? It sounds like they’ve got a lot of famous owners who really have no sports experience but do have the big bucks to put into the organization so … this is a good thing, right? I wonder what Dolphins fans think about this new development.

Woot! I love that Jennifer Lopez is finally gettin’ her booty back to work after birthin’ those babies last year. She’s been away for far too long. And even tho I’m not the biggest Marc Anthony fan in the world, I think it’s really sweet that he swung by the set to visit with the missus. Yesterday we saw pics of hubby Freddie Prinze, Jr. doing the same for Sarah Michelle Gellar. Here’s hoping we’ll get to see more of J. Lo on the scene now that she’s back to work again … but Marc can stay home next time ;)

Now, just because the family put on happy faces at the concert and the couple made a show of going out together for Valentine’s Day dinner doesn’t necessarily mean that everything is happy in LopAnthonyland … it, at the very least, means that the couple are not interested in playing into the hands of gossips and rumormongers. I personally do not put much credence on these sorts of reports of break-ups … I tend to err on the side of caution and positivity. Then again, I’m never really very surprised when folks break-up after rumors begin to swell. I just tend to hope for the best and wait for the worst. At this point, LopAnthony appear to be happily attached … I guess we’ll have to see if that attachment is everlasting.

As you can see in these photos, the couple were both wearing their wedding rings (which are so full of bling that they can be seen with the naked eye from space) and were careful to show them off as much as possible (like in the solo photo of Jen where she appears to be going, Oh, my huge wedding ring that is a symbol of my love for my husband is so big that it always gets in the way when I’m trying to brush the hair from my face). The couple even shared a smooch during the inauguration ceremony … looks like true love to me! Honestly, I think all of this show would be much more believable if it weren’t so obviously shoved in our faces … the disingenuousness only makes it seem faker. I guess time will tell. So much for Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s big Valentine’s Day demise. (Or so we’re being led to believe…) In the face of reports that the duo have been fighting and are headed for a split, E! News has learned exclusively that J.Lo and her hubby are spending a few days together in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Two days ago, Lopez and Anthony met up with friends and family for dinner at Marmalade, a trendy, upscale restaurant in the old-town section of San Juan. “Jennifer and Marc looked very happy, so it is hard for me to believe the rumors that their marriage is in trouble,” the eatery’s general manager, Trace Donaldson, tells E! News. “They were laughing and seemed to be having a great time.” The couple were joined by a group that included Lopez’s sister, Lynda. On Monday, the Out of Sight star’s rep denied to E! a New York Daily News report that had the seemingly cozy couple planning to announce their breakup right after Anthony’s Feb. 14 show at Madison Square Garden. “There is no merit to the article,” the rep said. Lopez was spotted Dec. 26 boarding a private flight straight to Puerto Rico out of Van Nuys Airport.

The only thing that looked suspicious to me was all that time that the couple were spending apart. There were quite a few high profile events that J. Lo attended all by herself … so either Marc decided to stay home with the kiddies or the pair were not interested in going out together. I think it’s also kinda telling when a celeb decides to go out in public not wearing their wedding ring — especially when it’s big a honkin’ diamond ring that would be noticed if it wasn’t worn. But, all of this is clearly speculation … tho, I didn’t think that Madonna and Guy Ritchie were so close to dunzoness near the end of their relationship and, well, look at them now. I suspect that the couple will stay together well beyond Valentine’s Day … even IF they are trying to plan a good time to break up, they most assuredly will not do so on VD.

Rumors swirled that Lopez’s marriage was on the rocks after she showed up to the premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last week without her 8-carat diamond engagement ring, wedding band – or ever present husband, Marc Anthony (who was spotted in Las Vegas sans wedding band the weekend before). Multiple sources confirm to to Us Weekly their marriage is at a breaking point. “They both didn’t wear their rings on purpose,” a mutual pal of the married couple of four years (who renewed their vows in October) tells Us. “Nothing Jennifer does is without purpose.” While Anthony’s rep insists to Us, “They are doing great,” a source tells Us deep trouble has been brewing. “He’s very, very controlling of her,” a close Anthony pal tells Us. “The skirts aren’t as short. You don’t see so much of that booty anymore.” The new Us Weekly also reports that Anthony also picks out Lopez’s clothes and keeps tabs on her phone calls. But Lopez — who once claimed she “loved getting his opinions” — has become less interested in his approval since the birth of their 10-month-old twins, Max and Emme. “She walks in from work, washes her hands and grabs the babies,” a longtime friend tells Us. “With him, it’s almost like, ‘Ugh, they’re crying again?’” Another problem: Lopez — who once commanded $15 million per film — “blames Marc for her career going down the tubes,” says a mutual pal, adding that she’s bitter about the failure of their 2006 drama, El Cantante, which only grossed $7.5 million. I am always suspicious of magazine coverstories with headlines like “The Rings Are OFF!” but, in all honesty, I wouldn’t be that surprised if J. Lo and Marc ended up calling it quits. Something about their pairing never felt right for me … they got together milliseconds after Ben Affleck dumped her and Marc divorced his then-wife Dayanara Torres. I just never truly believed that he was right for her. J. Lo’s marriage to Marc was her third and it wouldn’t truly shock me if it doesn’t turn out to her her last. As much as I think that Jennifer Lopez might find true happiness with someone else, it’s a shame that things did work out with Marc Anthony considering she finally gave birth to the babies that she’s always wanted. I suppose time will tell what is really going on with these two … refusing to wear wedding rings is really a very telling sign that something’s amiss. Isn’t that how Madonna and Guy Ritchie started showing the world that they weren’t destined to last?
