Maddie Briann doesn’t get to spend much time with aunt Brit Brit so I’m sure she appreciates this time together. With all the touring that’s been going on this year, Britney hasn’t really had much time to hang with her family as much as she’d prolly like to. Sure, she’ll meet up with them along the way as the tour carries on but it’s not the same as everyday contact. It’s really encouraging to know that Britney’s handlers are making sure to keep her connected with her family as much as possible as she works her ass off on tour. Our dear Britney still has many more US dates ahead of her and then she jets off to Australia for some shows there … the end of the road isn’t really in sight for her just yet … which is why I’m sure she is really enjoying this little vacy with her family in Miami.

Britney will be performing a couple concerts in the area this week so she clearly thought it would be fun to bring together members of her family for a little bonding time in Miami. It’s great to see them as a happy family, together again. After all the drama this family has been thru in recent years, it’s nice to see that all that seems to be water under the bridge … and life ahead looks happy and sunny. It’s crazy how big Maddie has grown … she’s like a little kid already. It’s just so cool to see them all bonding like one big happy family.

After making a big splash in the Bahamas the day before, Britney Spears emerged Saturday in Amite, La., where she made a low-key appearance as an “honorary” bridesmaid at the wedding of her cousin, Laura Lynne Covington. “When her brother walked her down the aisle, she looked stunningly calm and beautiful,” says one wedding guest. “She was very pretty, low-key. She was not the center of everything, just pretty and calm and collected.” The wedding took place at the First United Methodist Church, the same church where the funeral for Covington’s mother Sandra, who died of ovarian cancer, took place in January 2007. Later, at the wedding reception, the pop star hung out with her sister and fellow bridesmaid, Jamie Lynn, who toted baby Maddie, and “sat at a table off to the side and visited with local people she knew,” says the guest. “There was no fanfare,” noted the guest. “With all the star power Britney and her family command, it was still the bride’s day.”

Unlike Britney’s fake cousin and former assistant Alli Sims, Laura Lynne is Britney’s real family and it makes sense that she would want to be a part of her special day. Laura Lynne was one of Britney’s bridesmaids when she got married to Kevin Federline back in 2004. It’s very clear to me that Britney only makes time for her family in matters like this, which I think is very healthy and good for her overall progress. It’s clear to me that Britney doesn’t like making too many appearances, especially at functions where her fame might be exploited but you can tell she remains grounded and loved when she returns to Louisiana. Congrats goes out to Laura Lynne on her nuptials.

Britney and Madonna are doing an exclusive scene together! “It features the song ‘If U Seek Amy’, in which Madonna is the character ‘Amy’ and Britney is running after her. First there will be a video playing and then Britney will come out and sing and then, only in Los Angeles, Madonna will come out for the last part … It has been negotiated and confirmed. They are set to shoot it by February 10th. Britney has said she is ‘over exited to be coming back to the stage’ and gave her ideas for the sets of many numbers.”

While I really love this idea, I fear it’s too good to be true. Without some sort of confirmation (which should come at least by February 10, as this rumor suggests) I’m gonna hold off on believing this particular report. Even if Maddy doesn’t appear in video form during the show (even tho she should since Britney fans would eat that shizz up!), I really do hope that she makes an appearance on stage with Britney here in LA. Britney was kind enough to make the cameo for Madonna, hopefully she’ll do the same. In any regard, work continues on tour prep … with Madonna or not, the show sounds like it’s going to be amazing. In just about two moths, Britney Spears is gonna show us what she’s got. I can’t wait.

New year, new digs! Britney Spears is in the process of moving into her sprawling new Calabasas home, X17 reported on Tuesday. “I just took my babies to our new home, and they loved it!” Spears wrote on her Twitter account. “I can’t wait to move in.” According to X17, the pop star — who is mom to Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2 — was spotted unloading items such as the boys’ electric cars onto the property. The Prado De Los Suenos house in The Oaks community in Calabasas is priced at $8.9 million. The pop star’s six-bedroom, six-bathroom Studio City, Calif. home is currently on the market for $7.195 million. The gated, Italian Renaissance-inspired villa has about 7,500 square feet and features a wet bar, a library, a den, high ceilings and stone and mosaic tile floors. The master bedroom has a fireplace and a loggia. The pad also comes complete with a pool, spa, arbor and three garages.

This move is a very good step for our dear Britney. The Studio City home that she is leaving and putting up for sale is the same place where she had to be dragged out of in January 2008 after she suffered her mental breakdown. That place is prolly full of sad memories that I’m sure she’s ready to put behind her. Honestly, I’m surprised that she waited this long to move … but at last, it’s time. I hope that her preparations for the tour continue to progress smoothly and that her move into her new home affords her the fresh start that she needs for 2009. Onward, upward and forward … Britney’s comeback is still very much on the move.

It’s official – Britney Spears is no longer in control of herself. Court papers were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, making a judge’s October ruling (which made the conservatorship over Britney permanent) official. The conservatorship over the pop star legally began on January 5, 2009. The agreement gives permanent control of the pop star’s finances to her father, Jamie Spears, along with attorney Andrew Wallet. While Jamie is sole conservator over Britney’s personal matters. In the papers pertaining to Britney’s financial matters, it states Britney “is substantially unable to manage … her financial resources or to resist fraud or undue influence.” When it comes to control over Britney, herself, the papers state the star “is unable properly to provide for his or her personal needs for physical health, food, clothing, or shelter.” The personal order also gives Jamie Spears “the power to restrict and limit visitors by any means.” When Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz granted Jamie Spears a permanent conservatorship over his daughter on October 28, 2008, a court-appointed attorney for Spears said the singer did not object to the arrangement. Britney was not present in court on Monday, and instead was represented by attorney Sam Ingham.

Wow, this conservatorship biz is serious. I believe that now that the ruling has been made permanent the only way for it to end would be if Jamie Spears decides to end it or if he dies. Honestly, I’m a bit torn over the lengths of control that this conservatorship has over Britney’s person. On the one hand, I’m glad that her father was able to step in and take control in her time of need but on the other hand, this sort of control is usually reserved for people who are totally incapable of handling their own affairs (ie. someone in a coma). While Britney may have been a total mess a year ago (and may yet not be 100% right now), I think it might be a bit much for this conservatorship to be so far-reaching and permanent. In the end, tho, it has been nothing but positive for Britney’s life so … mebbe it is for the best. In any event, debate about the matter is over — it’s a done deal now.

Late yesterday evening the music video for her new single Circus leaked onto the Internets days before it was to make its world premiere on Entertainment Tonight. As a result, ET has announced that a Director’s Cut version of the video will be premiering on their show TONIGHT in HD one day earlier than was originally planned. I can’t wait to see how much better that vid is than the one we’ve already been able to see. Pink reader Jovan gave me the head’s up that the seating chart for the San Jose, CA concert has been posted online that shows how seating will be handled for attendees depending on how much money they spent on tickets:

As you can see, the stage for the new tour will literally have 3-rings, just like a real circus. According to the color-coding, the pink area is where the $500+ Toxic VIP ticket holders will be seated (there are 2-person love seats in this area), the yellow area is where the $200+ In The Zone VIP ticket holders will be (general admission up against the stage) and the purple area is for the $100+ regular general admission ticket holders. The blue, green and dark yellow areas are the regular seated areas. I know none of this was made clear to me on the day that tickets went on sale so I’m sure this info will be useful to some of you who have no idea where your seats for the show are. I understand that Britney was on site last night for quite a few hours putting the finishing touches on her big Good Morning America performance that took place earlier today. After seeing all of the elements that went into this performance, it makes sense that she would want to spend as much time rehearsing as possible.

Later on last night, Britney’s estranged parents — Jamie & Lynne Spears — stepped out together to grab a bite to eat together … alone:

While I’m pretty certain that no hanky-panky exists between this happily divorced couple, I’m glad to see that they are able to remain friendly with one another even after all that has happened between them. I’m sure they are both very happy, very relieved that their daughter is out of harm’s way and is making a true return to form. Who knows, mebbe there will — one day — be a reconciliation between these two … I’m not holding my breath but seeing them enjoy alone time together is a very nice sight indeed.

Lynne Spears certainly has plenty to be thankful for. In the past year, she has watched her famous daughter Britney crawl back from the brink. Just how did the 27-year-old singer rebound from her pair of forced hospitalizations and a long string of erratic behavior, including her quickly annulled Vegas wedding in 2004 and her infamous head-shaving in 2007? “With a lot of love and care and help,” Lynne said Thursday, speaking to the U.K.’s GMTV via satellite from New Orleans. “Sometimes you have to just settle down. You have to stop, think. And there’s a lot of people that care about Britney and love Britney – and Britney’s doing great now.” And while the singer still hasn’t regained custody of her two sons, Lynne had nothing but praise for her daughter’s parenting skills. “Oh she’s a wonderful mother – she’s funny, she’s extremely affectionate,” said the Spears matriarch, who was promoting her memoir, Through the Storm. “[At] home, where there’s nobody around, she’s very normal.” Britney – fresh off the success of her first single, “Womanizer” – is currently in Europe promoting her new album, Circus. And she’s scheduled to go on a worldwide concert tour next year. “I think Britney’s just ready to get started again,” said her mom. “I think this is when she’s most in her element.”

Ready or not (and I sincerely hope she’s ready), here she comes. It all gets underway tonight … Britney will take to the stage at the Bambi Awards for her first live performance since the 2007 MTV VMAs and will set in motion a musical comeback that will (hopefully) set the world on fire and allow her to soar to the heights of success and fame that she once enjoyed back in the day. This week will be a crazy whirlwind for our dear Britney … her schedule is jam-packed with appearances and performances — and we’re about to see if she can pull it off. My heart and my gut tell me that she can, I just hope they’re right. It’s on now, bitches. Can she really do it this time?

It’s time for a very special Spears family get-together as OK! has learned exclusively that pop star Britney Spears, along with her father — and her two young sons! — left L.A. on Friday morning to make an early holiday pilgramage to her Louisiana home. Around 10:30am PT on Friday, the pop star and her young boys, Sean Preston, 3, and 2-year-old Jayden James, boarded a private plane at an airport in Van Nuys, Calif., where they flew with the pop star’s papa, Jamie Spears, to Kentwood, La. This trip marks not only the first time that young Jayden will get to see Serenity, the family home in Kentwood, but also the first time since ex-husband Kevin Federline was awarded physical custody of the boys that Britney has been able to take them out of the state. Insiders tell OK! that the reason for the trip is twofold. First, so that Britney can have some quiet family time away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood before the release of her new album, Circus, on her 27th birthday (Dec. 2). And the second reason for the family getaway is so Sean and Jayden get the chance to spend more time their cousin Maddie, the baby daughter of Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge.

Awww … this is so great. You can see that Britney’s mother Lynne Spears and her older brother Bryan Spears came out to the airport to meet her, her father and her boys. The only ones missing from this cute family reunion were Jamie Lynn Spears and her unmarried babydaddy Casey Aldridge. I wonder how long Brit plans to stay in Louisiana … for just the weekend, thru Thanksgiving? However long she stays, I hope she has an amazing time at home with her entire family. She’s been working real hard this year and has made such remarkable strides in her recovery … I think she really deserves to enjoy as much downtime as she can muster. Good for her!!
