Ben, A new Dharma video, Polar Bears & Walt
The Epilogue To ‘Lost’ Has Made Its Way To The Internets

The 12 minute epilogue to the Lost TV series, which ended it’s run last Spring, has made its way to the Internets ahead of the final season’s release on DVD. In the epilogue, which takes place after the final season ended, we see Ben Linus taking care of a bit of business as well as a bit of explanation by way of a previously unseen Dharma Initiative video. Oh and a very grown-up Walt also appears in the video clip as well:

The clip has made its way to You Tube but has already been taken down a few times … it has also been yanked from other video sharing sites. BUT, you can watch the Lost epilogue in FULL, after the jump …

What could've been
Watch: The Alternate Endings To ‘Lost’

As I’m sure you are well aware, the 2 1/2-hour season finale of Lost aired on ABC last night bringing a close to a story that has captured the imagination of the world for the past 6 years and while the ep did not satisfy everyone (after all, how could it?) it did manage to strike a cord with many loyal fans of the show. Because the finale ep was such a big deal, the show’s creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse filmed 3 alternate endings for the series in order to keep the real ending a complete surprise:

These alternate endings were aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night after the real season finale ending aired … but in case you missed seeing them last night, you can check them out now — after the jump

Peace the Spork Out
‘Lost’ Ends Tonight

Welp … the day has finally come. The series finale of Lost airs tonight on ABC and after 6 years of baffling questions, all will be revealed and resolved TONIGHT! Well, okay … maybe not all will be revealed because I cannot see how any show with such a huge and sprawling story like Lost can be resolved to everyone’s satisfaction in just one 2-hour episode. Now, I’ve had my ups and downs with the show over the years … after falling madly in love with the mysterious intrigue in those first 2 seasons, my frantic fandom slowly cooled over the next 4 years. That being said, I have to give the show props for coming out of nowhere to grab the attention of the whole world for so long. Lost will surely go down in pop culture as one of the most intriguing shows in all of television history … but can we really expect everything to be resolved tonight? According to the following report … no. But the producers of Lost insist that the answers will come … a little bit down the line:

Lost fans are already sweating the prospect that Sunday’s series won’t resolve their favorite pet mystery or most burning question. For those left wanting, there is hope: EW has confirmed a TV Guide report that the producers plan to address a selection of baffling bits of unfinished business on the season 6 DVD, which goes on sale in August. An ABC insider says the set will include “new content that addresses some of the unanswered questions in an entertaining way,” though disputed reports that there could be as much as 20 minutes worth of mystery-resolution material. While Lost die-hards probably needed no incentive to invest in the DVD, the promise of extra revelation will no doubt increase the chances that they will make the purchase the second it becomes available. What do you think of the move? On one hand, I can see fans feeling grateful that producers are looking out for their interests. On the other hand, I can see them irked that none of the DVD stuff was in the (free-to-watch) show.

Blah. I can’t say I’m at all interested in paying for answers to a show that I’ve invested so much time watching but I can’t say that I blame the Lost folks for wanting to milk as much as they can from this hugely successful show. My focus right now can only be on the series finale which will air tonight. I’m quite confident that I will not be fully satisfied by what will air tonight but, then again, I think I can be OK with that. A show like Lost depends on what the viewer brings to the story based on their experience of the story … it kind of relies on the fact that not everything will be revealed. As annoying as that may sound, I get it. While I have not been at all impressed with much of where the Lost mythos took me, I do not regret going along for the ride. The show was such a phenomenon in those early seasons, I cannot forget that. Whether I am fully satisfied by tonight’s series finale isn’t the point. That I will be able to say that I stuck with Lost thru thick and thin seems more relevant to me. There is a satisfaction in having a sense of accomplishment. Lost will come to end and I’ll be there to bear witness. And who knows … after all the twists and turns that we’ve enduring thru 6 years of Lost, we may end up finding out that it was only a dream. Are YOU excited for tonight’s series finale of Lost? What are YOU expecting to happen?

LOCKEd and loaded
Marilyn Manson Appears To Be A ‘Lost’ Fan

It would seem that shock-rock musician (and sometime painter) Marilyn Manson (née Brian Warner) is a fan of the ABC series Lost becuase he posted a water color painting he did of Lost character John Locke (played by Terry O’Quinn) and posted it on his official Facebook profile … behold:

Not bad … not bad at all. To be honest, the artwork that Marilyn Manson has been putting out is much more interesting than the music he’s been releasing lately. This is actually a pretty cool/creepy homage to the character of John Locke. I understand MM was inspired to paint this portrait to sate bandmate Twiggy Ramirez‘s obsession with Lost. No word on if Twiggy (née Jeordie White) approves but I have to give this painting two thumbs up!

The "Final Flight"
‘Lost’ Releases The Final Cast Photo

We are just about a month away from the series finale of Lost … which means the promo machine for the show, which has been running full steam for years, is just about winding down. The last episode of Lost will air on Sunday May 23 and in this week’s issue of TV Guide magazine, the final cast photo for Lost — titled Final Flight — is featured … check it out:

This photo features the remaining major players left on the island with short quotes from each of the actors who play these characters reveals what they hope the future holds for them. This particular photo was offered as a limited edition print for sale HERE but because of limited quantities, it has already sold out. I must admit, while Lost no longer WOWs me like it used to in the early years, I have continued to watch and I am completely invested in how the series ends. In the end, it is my hope that the show will be able to satisfy and answer all (or at least most) of the unanswered questions that have been keeping us coming back for more year after year. The show was such a phenomenon … and I’ll admit, I’d like to see it go out on a high note. There are only a handful of eps left and then we should know all there is to know. The Final Flight is almost over … and what a ride it’s been. The question remains, will we end up at any meaningful destination?

Also spill some spoilery deets on last night's Season 6 premiere ep
‘Lost’ Producers Reveal The Series Finale Date

Last night the final season premiere of Lost aired on ABC to much fanfare and in celebration, Lost producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about the season 6 premiere ep and to spill some deets about the ep and the final season ahead. Cuse and Lindelof announced on the show that the series finale of Lost will air on Sunday May 23, 2010 … the other stuff they teased about could be considered very spoilery for those of you who have yet to watch last night’s ep (we’ll keep those comments behind the cut):

[Last night] “Jimmy Kimmel Live” welcomed the “Lost” executive producers and creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse in support of the last season of their hit series. At the end of the guest interview, the masterminds exclusively revealed to host Jimmy Kimmel that the “Lost” series finale will air Sunday, May 23, 2010 on ABC. “We are eternally grateful to him (Steve McPherson, President of ABC Entertainment Group) for allowing us to end the show on our own terms,” said Lindelof. “Then, on May 30 the “Hurley and the Smoke Monster” spin-off starts?” joked Kimmel.

This end date announcement came at the end of the interview but the producers talked at length about semi-spoilery, important things to look for in last night’s season 6 premiere episode. After the jump, find out what they had to say — but BE WARNED, their comments will most likely spoil things if you’ve yet to watch the ep — read on at your own risk …

The END is nigh
The ‘Lost’ Supper

The 6th and final season of the ABC drama Lost is about to debut and to promote the final eps, a new promo photo has been released that shows the surviving cast assembled around a long dinner table while seated in airplane chairs as if they were enjoying The Last Supper of Biblical fame … behold:

It’s one of TV’s most mysterious and addictive shows and the [sixth] and final series promises to be a major television event. So, how better to promote the end of U.S. series Lost than with a encrypted recreation of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper? Two pictures have been issued which feature all of the show’s remaining characters in replicas of the famous painting. Now fans will be squinting to work out the differences in the hope it holds clues to the ending of a show which has captivated and confused audiences for [five seasons]. Lost follows the escapades of a group of plane crash survivors who are trapped on a mysterious island in the Pacific Ocean. However, all is not as it seems, with constant flashbacks to each of the characters’ previous lives revealing more and more about the mystery surrounding what’s happening on the island. The characters have experienced everything from monsters to indigenous tribes people. Some of the key points fans have picked up on since the photo was released include:

In the first photo everyone is looking at Locke, who is clearly in the Jesus position. Could this be proof that his prophet-like role among the survivors and mystical understanding of the island will continue?
● There are skulls at both Sayid’s and Hurley’s feet. Is death knocking at their door? Or are they just stones or coconuts, meant as a red herring?
● It looks like wrinkles are visible on Richard’s face. Could he finally be aging? If so, what does this say about the magical, powers of the island?

Viewers will have to wait until the final series launches in the U.S. on February 2 to find out exactly what happens, but can expect a dramatic conclusion to the show. ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson announced that Lost will end with a “highly anticipated and shocking finale.” ‘We felt that this was the only way to give Lost a proper creative conclusion,’ he said.

While I may have gotten a bit tired of Lost a couple of seasons ago, I’ll admit that I drew me back in last season. I’m nowhere near as diehard a fan as I used to be but I am not ashamed to admit that I am painfully curious to see how the whole thing will end. I pray the final eps of the final season are not as tedious as most of the eps have been in recent seasons … I’m not sure I could stand it. They can make every single episode a thrilling, exciting and thought-provoking one … and that will ensure that the show goes out with a bang. After the jump, check out an alternate second version of this Lost Supper photo and watch the newest trailer for the final season of Lost which shows a greatest hits collection of scenes from all the previous seasons and hints at what’s to come …

The TV Guide
‘Lost’: Chain Of Fools

After my überexciting night out on Tuesday, I decided to kick it at home and take care of some stuff around the house and watch some TV. As pretty much everyone is well aware, the season 5 finale of Lost aired last night and altho I was pretty lukewarm about the show this entire season, I was a bit excited to see how things would be wrapping up this time around. I have to confess, tho, that the 2-hours of “action” that we got last night was far from entertaining … to me. Beware — the rest of this post may contain spoilery info for those of you who have yet to watch the ep:

I’ve long since abandoned the hope that a new “shocking” revelation on Lost would leave me slackjawed and gasping OMGs over and over again. It’s been a long time since that happened to me from watching the show. But I did have some hope that mebbe there would be some new info in last night’s finale that might ignite the spark of excitement again. I must say, there were some really great bits and some surprises but, in the end, I was left with that Why should I care? feeling that has been nagging me all season long. I may be alone on this but I was really unimpressed with Jacob‘s entire contribution to the finale. From his intro at the beginning to his death (?) at the end, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes every time he did something. Showing up off the island in the lives of some of the principal characters was … expected … and not at all interesting. I was very surprised to see that Locke‘s dead boy was inside that box (I’m still puzzling over where the ghost Locke came from) and I am intrigued by Ilana and her group of unknown characters but, overall, I was just left with that meh feeling. It’s sad that Juliette had to die but even sadder that she had to die cuz a chain flying thru the air wrapped itself around her body sooo tightly that she had to be pulled to her death by electromagnetic forces … well not entirely to her death, she still lived long enough to pound a rock against the H bomb to make the screen go all white. As she was hanging on for dear life (and as those chains unbelievably gripped her body all the while) I was so over it. Bomb or no bomb I had had it. The show used to really entertain me, now it only gives me reason to complain … and that is not fun. I know I’ll continue to watch the show next season only to see how the whole damn thing ends but … now you see why I gave up recapping the show. I know many of you LOVE Lost still and I don’t want to ruin that fun.

After Lost was finished, I started watching The Net starring Sandra Bullock on Cinemax. I just love that movie … I saw it in the theater back in 1995. The Internet was so scary to some back then … little did they know what it would turn into all these years later. About an hour into the movie the power went out … all over West Hollywood. I guess that was my cue to go to bed. I’m gonna have to find The Net on cable again, that movie must be watched in its entirety again … and soon!!

PS: The Detroit Red Wings take on the Anaheim Ducks at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, MI for Game 7 of their Stanley Cup playoff series. I’m sending all my love to the boys in red to get ‘er done tonight!! Go Wings!!!

No Chandler Bing for you
Matthew Perry Will Not Be Appearing In The Series Finale Of ‘Lost’

Contrary to rampant rumors flying around the Internets this week, it is with a heavy heart that I have to pass along the sad info that Matthew Perry (who famously played the character of Chandler Bing on 10 seasons of the NBC hit show Friends) will NOT be appearing in the series finale of Lost as is being reported around the Internets (and which originated on the IMDB):

It’s not every day that we get to solve a “Lost” mystery, but today we most certainly can. The Internet’s been buzzing since yesterday with the “Lost” news that Matthew Perry — also known as Chandler Bing — is appearing in the season finale of “Lost.” A sleuth found the secret casting news on IMDB, with a character name and everything. ABC immediately denied this, but we are of a suspicious nature, so we kept digging. What we found is that nowhere on the island of Smoke Monsters and four-toed statues has there ever been an actor named Matthew Perry. He’s not there in 1977. He’s not there in 2009. And he wasn’t there in 2004 when the Oceanic 815 crashed. Whoever added the part to Perry’s resume was playing a dirty trick on us, Losties. Three island sources have now confirmed what ABC debunked. Our money’s on Benjamin Linus. You know how that guy likes to mess with our heads.

I can’t say that I’m surprised that this rumor turned out to be false … but can we just think for a minute how amazing the Lost island would be if it had a bit of Chandler Bing on it? I might actually make a point to watch the show for reals again. Ah well, the rumor was fun while it lasted :)
