Earlier this week we learned that Jessica Simpson got dumped by her Dallas Cowboys quarterback boyfriend Tony Romo on the eve of her 29th birthday, reportedly because he did not want to participate in her “Barbie & Ken“-themed birthday party. Today, Life & Style magazine gives us our first look at Romo as a free, single man. Tony hooked up with his BFF Ryan Cabrera (who also previously dated a Simpson himself) for a guys’ night out at the Key Club on Sunset Blvd. earlier this week. Life & Style first reported on Tuesday that Tony was at LA’s Key Club the night before partying with singer Ryan Cabrera and actor Dennis Haskins to the sounds of Steel Panther. LOL!! You just KNOW that Tony and Ryan spent part of their night sharing war stories of dating a Simpson daughter. I have *no doubt* that overbearing Papa Joe Simpson is a nightmare to deal with when you are dating one of his daughters (for the life of me, I don’t know how Pete Wentz deals with it) so I’m sure the new BFFs had a lot to commiserate with one another. Last week we learned that pop starlet Rihanna paid a little visit to East Side Ink in NYC, NY to first learn how to tattoo and then tattoo a few people … which, it turns out, is against NY health code laws and is illegal. Today, Life & Style magazine gives us our first look at Rihanna posing proudly with one of the tattoos she inked on one of the gentleman at East Side Ink:

She may be a talented recording artist, but when Rihanna tried her hand as a tattoo artist at East Side Ink in NYC on July 1, she violated the city’s health code. “Only licensed tattoo artists can administer tattoos in the city, according to the health code”, a rep for the New York City Department of Health tells Life & Style. “We sent someone to follow up.” East Side Ink co-owner Joshua Lord happily tells Life & Style the parlor was given a clean bill of health upon inspection, and Rihanna isn’t likely to face arrest or any fines. And it was all worth it, he says: “She did three tattoos, all very small, but by the third one, she was pretty good. The first tattoo she did, an umbrella, was for BangBang (RiRi’s longtime tattoo artist], on his leg. The second was on me, also on my leg. And Patrick Conlon, another artist, got it on his arm.” The “Umbrella” singer personalized the umbrella tats even more by putting an R on them, as well as a number for the order in which she inked them. “I just think it’s so much cooler than an autograph,” BangBang tells Life & Style. “She did an amazing job for her first tattoo. And now I’m one of the three people on the planet who have Rihanna tattoos!”

I mean … I guess the tat doesn’t look bad but … it’s not really something I think I’d want on my body. It’s cute and tiny … I can’t believe these beefy guys would want something so dainty inked on their bodies either but, whatevs. I do agree that having Rihanna tattoo you is cooler than getting an autograph from her but, really, is it worth having something so permanent? Would you let Rihanna or any other unlicensed celeb tattoo you?

Octomom Nadya Suleman, famous for birthin’ 8 babies at once to add to her already sizable single-parent family that had 6 children already, is featured on the cover of the new issue of Life & Style magazine. In her coverstory interview, Suleman apparently answers all the questions the world is dying (?) to know. Here is the Ocotomom and 7 of her babies (the 8th was still hospitalized by the time this issue went to print) on the cover of L&S mag along with a portion of her “big interview”:

In a two-hour sit-down interview with Life & Style, Nadya opens up about the choices she’s made, the father of her children and reveals the truth behind all the rumors. Nadya Suleman’s home in La Habra, Calif., should be a scene of chaos, yet when Life & Style arrived on April 4, things were quiet and serene. Nadya seemed less concerned with her appearance than spending time with her kids. “This is who I am,” Nadya says. “There are so many lies out there, and they’re all just so different from the person I really am.” Here, in her first extensive print interview, Nadya finally sets the record straight for Life & Style.

L&S: Are you going to do a reality show?
Nadya: Absolutely not! I have no interest in being famous. I’d love to vanish from the public eye as soon as I can.

I suppose if there ever was a way for a person to get rich and famous from having babies, this is the way to do it. I have a hard time believing that Suleman will not eventually do a TV show of some kind. It’s still pretty crazy how quickly the story of these octuplets went from being a happy surprise to, what amounts to, a major marketing phenomenon. It’s only been a little over 2 months since these babies were born — and since the birth of the Octomom — and she’s already become a pretty big part of the public nomenclature. I have to admit, I’m really curious to read this 8-page interview in full. I know it’s totally wrong but everyone loves a freakshow. Who knows what’s next for Nadya Suleman but if there is money to be made, I’m convinced she’ll figure out a way to make it happen. OY!

As the Twilight movie is released on DVD this weekend … well, tonight at midnight actually, (as is evident from all of the advertising on the site today), new interviews about the film’s creation are being published all over the place this week. Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke talks to Life & Style magazine and reveals how she went about casting Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan. While some directors will have actors enact scenes in sterile offices and conference rooms, Hardwicke opted for a more intimate setting … her bedroom:

There’s no denying the chemistry between Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. And, as Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke tells Life & Style, finding co-stars with that special spark was all part of her plan! “[During casting] I did the whole scene in my bedroom to be sure that these two people had sparks,” Hardwicke told Life & Style at the launch of Twilight: Director’s Notebook in Santa Monica on March 17. “Are they intense? Are we going to believe it and love it?” And this director didn’t just stop at filming them in the bedroom; she wanted them to lock lips! “I said, ‘Yes, we really want you to kiss. I want to see if this works,’” she reveals. “Because at the end of the day, if it just doesn’t work, then it’s not going to work for the whole movie. So I made them go ahead and kiss, and the sparks did fly!” Will Rob and Kristen have the same passionate flame in New Moon?

Hahahaha … while this info is funny it’s also a bit creepy. I can’t imagine that it was all that comfortable for the pair to get all smoochy with one another in Catherine Hardwicke’s bed. The chemistry between the two must’ve been really palatable for it to show thru in the director’s bed room. I envision a lot of frilly, floral and lace pillows piled on the bed. ::Shudder::

And so … at last … Twilight will be available for purchase so that all y’all rabid Twilighters can watch the movie over and over and over to your heart’s content. I suspect there will be a lot of folks making their way out to the various midnight release parties that are happening all over the country. Life and Style magazine is reporting that Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson quietly celebrated their first anniversary together on January 28 by sharing an intimate dinner together in Beverly Hills, CA. While I am very happy that L. Ron have successfully made it to the one year mark together, I’m not entirely sure how the magazine can be so sure that January 28th is the ladies’ anniversary (especially since it wasn’t until many months after the girls were rumored to be involved that Lindsay confirmed their relationship) … but it sounds about right to me, so I suppose CONGRATS! are in order:

And they said it wouldn’t last! Lindsay Lohan and girlfriend Samantha Ronson celebrated their first anniversary on Jan. 28. “They snuck into E. Baldi restaurant in Beverly Hills,” says a friend of the couple. “They had a quiet, romantic dinner.” Although Sam had to jet off to deejay in Toronto the next night, the two were reunited in Tampa to continue their anniversary celebration during Super Bowl weekend. As Sam worked ESPN the Magazine’s Next party, “Lindsay sat next to her booth in the VIP area and, between texting and smoking, took pictures of Sam,” says a partygoer. Sipping only Red Bull and juice, Lindsay seemed to be having a blast. “Other girls were crowded around, trying to flirt with her,” says the partygoer, “but Lindsay stayed focused on Sam.”

Love it! I shant go on, again, about how much I love L. Ron together but I will say that I am very relieved that those rumors about a possible break-up were completely wrong. You will note that we’ve not heard much from these two in the past few weeks, which leads me to believe that they’re more interested in working on fostering the health of their relationship rather than hitting the party circuit. It is quite an achievement for a couple to stay together for a year, especially in Hollywood. I honestly believe that these two will stay together for a long time to come. I’m not sure about forever but I don’t see any end in sight in the foreseeable future. Happy Anniversary, L. Ron!

Brody Jenner and BFF Frankie Delgado recently sat down with Life & Style magazine to talk about the new MTV competitive reality TV series Bromance (which debuts on December 29) and confess to the mag that there is still a chance for ex-BFF Spencer Pratt to get back in Brody’s good graces. Since true bromances never die, Brody reveals that the door is always open for Spencer to, once again, roll in Brody’s entourage … tho, Frankie reveals he can only do so after paying his dues:

Best friends Brody Jenner and Spencer Pratt had a falling out on The Hills, but Brody, 25, says the door is still open for Spencer to appear on his new MTV reality show, Bromance, premiering Dec. 29, when Brody begins his search for a new buddy. “I love Spencer,” he tells Life & Style. “Trust was broken, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be friends.” Brody’s Bromance cohort, Frankie Delgado, says that if Spencer, 25, wants back in, he’s going to have to work for it. “He’ll have to compete,” Frankie says. “We’re going to have to put him through some tests!”

LOL. While I sincerely doubt that Spencer Pratt would ever agree to compete for Brody’s attentions again, I think it would be hilarious to see him try. I’m a bit disturbed and intrigued by this Bromance show … I’m very curious to see what all these straight dudes are willing to go thru in order to be friends with Brody Jenner. I understand that being gay doesn’t help. Whether or not Spencer ever attempts to reignite his bromance with Brody remains to be seen … but it won’t be long before we get to see other dudes emasculate themselves to vie for his attentions and gain entry into his inner circle. Yep, this whole thing sure sounds very straight to me.

Yesterday morning we learned from Pete Wentz himself that he had to cancel an appearance on CNN Friday night due to an unforeseen “scheduling conflict” and it was widely speculated that the conflict was that his wife, the heavily pregs Ashlee Simpson, had gone into labor to give birth to their first child. So, one might expect that Ashlee would’ve given birth by now, right? Notsofast … Pete updated his official blog yesterday afternoon and talked about the smell of smoke in LA (due to the wildfires burning just north of Los Angeles) and made ZERO mention of Ashlee or the baby. Here is the pic that Pete posted on his blog and the full text of his most recent blogpost:

my house smells like a fire. me and jensen were driving back from china town and there were police in riot gear on sunset. is this where we are? fucking nuts.

Just because Pete did not mention any baby news doesn’t mean that the baby wasn’t born … mebbe he’s deliberately keeping mum so that the media scrutiny will be waylaid for a few days. Incidentally, I believe the police force that Pete was talking about (and posted a photo of) were in “riot gear” in order to keep the peace as the Proposition 8 protesters took to the streets of LA yesterday. I understand the LAPD was amazingly supportive and did a great job ensuring that the protesters were allowed to peaceably and safely take their protests thru the streets of Los Angeles.

But I digress … Life & Style magazine is reporting that Ashlee did, in fact, go into labor on Friday night citing an alleged text message that Pete sent to all of his friends (and Pete’s blogpost from Friday night):

The moment is finally here: Ashlee’s having her baby! “Pete texted his friends last night that Ashlee is in labor!” an insider tells Life & Style. Plus, Pete posted Friday on his blog that he would have to cancel an interview that was intended to take place on Saturday night. “Due to breaking news and scheduling conflicts I will not be appearing on Larry King Live tonight,” he blogged. Best wishes for a safe delivery and congrats to the happy couple!

It seems likely that Ashlee did go into labor and just as likely that she has already given birth but until we get official confirmation, I guess we’ll just have to wait before sending our congrats. I hope it won’t be long until we hear of the arrival of the Ashl33n baby.
