Liam Hemsworth, one of the stars of the upcoming big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games, celebrated his birthday over the weekend but it looks like his 19 year old girlfriend Miley Cyrus was the one who had all the fun. Liam‘s birthday soirée was held at Club Icon in downtown LA last weekend and was presented with a big ol’ penis cake. Ha Ha, right? Yes, well, as you can see in the FAIRLY NSFW images below, Miley decided to have a bit of fun with the sexually explicit cake and, well, it’s kind of the thing you have to see to believe. It’s that time of the year again … time for People magazine to crown this year’s Sexiest Man Alive. The folks at People have compiled a list of the sexiest men in Hollywood and have determined that one man is the sexiest of all … and that man is Bradley Cooper. Bradley is featured on the cover and in the pages of this week’s special issue of People but the mag is packed full of other sexy men … from Chris Evans to Joel McHale and everyone in between. Last week we got to see a batch of AMAZING new character posters for the upcoming big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games and today we get more Games goodness to behold. The principle case of the film are featured in a beautiful photospread in the pages of the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine. Back in May we got our first look at the first photos from the set of the big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games and, as you may recall, we got to see a couple of paparazzi-shot photos from the Reaping scene. Today we get to see a new promo still from the film that was also taken during filming of the Reaping scene … a photo which features Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne. Check it out below.

This week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine is a MUST OWN for any fan of The Hunger Games because Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson grace the cover in character as Gale Hawthorne and Peeta Mellark respectively. As you may recall, we learned last Spring that the young actors scored the coveted lead male roles in the big screen adaptation franchise but, until now, we haven’t seen them officially in character (who we saw Liam unofficially HERE and Josh HERE). Yesterday we saw super hot photos of Thor actor Chris Hemsworth at the beach here in SoCal and today we get to see him posing for Who magazine with his younger brother Liam. The Hemsworths were selected for the magazine’s 100+ Beautiful People of 2011 issue and posed together for their photo. With Hemsworth promoting Thor and filming The Avengers and Liam working hard on The Hunger Games, the time seems ripe for the Hemsworth brothers to take over the world.

On Monday we got to see the first photos of the North Carolina set of The Hunger Games, which went into filming production this week, and today we get our FIRST LOOK at actors Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Willow Shields on the set of The Hunger Games. As you should be well aware by now, Lawrence will play Katniss Everdeen, Hemsworth will play Gale Hawthorne and Shields will play Primrose Everdeen. Thank the GODS … we are SO close to the release of the first big superhero blockbuster film of the year with Thor‘s opening this Friday. But last night, at Grauman’s Chinese Theater, the celebs came out for the Hollywood premiere of the film. While Thor celebrated its world wide premiere in Sydney, Australia (star Chris Hemsworth‘s hometown) last month, the big shindig was saved for Tinsel Town. Last month we learned that actress Jennifer Lawrence won the coveted role of Katniss Everdeen in the big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games and it was widely rumored that Weeds star Hunter Parrish would get the male lead role as Peeta Mellark. Today we learn that Hunter did NOT get the role (boo!) because Josh Hutcherson (The Kids are Alright) has been cast as Peeta and Liam Hemsworth (The Last Song) has been cast as Gale Hawthorne.

On-again / Off-again couple Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were so off-again this Summer that the couple broke up twice … first in June and then, for serious, in August. Absence makes the heart go fonder – just ask Miley Cyrus. The 17-year-old was caught in a very passionate clinch with her on-again boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, 20, in Los Angeles yesterday. The Disney star was dropping the Australian actor off after an outing together, with the couple’s farewell kissing session lingering for more than ten minutes. Hemsworth’s spokesperson revealed the pair, who first met on the set of teen drama The Last Song in 2009, had split last month But it’s clear their separation is most certainly over. The first sign they had rekindled their romance came over the weekend when they were spotted running errands together. An eyewitness told People: ‘Miley and Liam kept smiling and seemed to really enjoy their afternoon together. They acted like they had missed each other, kept chatting and seemed to be catching up. They definitely seemed like a couple again. Since Miley returned to LA from [a movie shoot in] Europe earlier in the week, she has acted a bit tired and worn out,’ the source continued. ‘With Liam back in her life on Saturday, she acted totally different and, instead, seemed very happy. It looked like Miley and Liam had never been apart, and they were back into their old routine.’ Miley has been filming LOL: Laugh Out Loud alongside Ashley Greene and Demi Moore in recent months. She plays the lead role of Lola in the coming-of-age film about a school girl and her friends making their way in a world connected by YouTube iTunes, and Facebook. During filming Miley was spotted getting cosy on and off-screen with her handsome male co-star, Douglas Booth.
