Last week we got our first look at the various coverphotos for GQ magazine’s special multicover edition of their Man of the Year issue and last night, at the Chateau Marmont, GQ hosted a party to celebrate those men. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals … which, strangely enough, included male pin-up model Levi Johnston and True Blood hottie Alexander Skarsgård who dished a bit about the upcoming third season of TB:

Skarsgard, 33, who plays brooding vampire Eric Northman on the HBO hit series True Blood, will begin shooting season three along with the rest of the cast later this month. The actor told RadarOnline.com that fans can expect a lot more from Eric this time around. “There’s a lot of nudity,” he said. “As far as Eric goes, there’s going to be a lot violence and a lot of sex — with women and men! So it should be interesting.” At 6-foot-four, Alexander’s model good looks are just as striking in person as they are on the small screen. Last season, he had to get up close and personal with True Blood co-star Anna Paquin — who in real life is engaged to co-star Stephen Moyer. But Skarsgard says there’s no tension on set. “No. I mean, I can’t wait to get back to my L.A. family,” he said referring to the True Blood cast. “I love Stephen, we’re friends and I love Anna. They’re great together. I actually think it makes things easier that way.” So there were absolutely no sparks flying between Skarsgard and Paquin during last season’s steamy love scenes? “Not at all,” he said. “Anna and I are completely platonic, and Stephen knows that.”

“A lot of nudity” — yeah, that is *just* what I was hopin’ to hear ;) I love Skarsgård and I’m always glad to see him out and about at these types of events … he seems like such a nice, approachable guy. As far as the other guests, well, it looks like GQ took grain pains to ensure that their event was a classy affair (Levi Johnston‘s attendance notwithstanding). I’m all for celebrating Men of any Year no matter the occasion … especially hotties like these :)

Yesterday we got a sneak peek at Levi Johnston‘s upcoming pictorial in the pages of Playgirl magazine from The Insider and today we get to check out another sneak peek at the pics from both The Insider (again) and Entertainment Tonight … but we are also hearing from the lad himself. E! News‘s Marc Malkin spoke with Johnston at the GQ Men of the Year event at the Chateau Marmont here in SoCal last night and Levi admitted that he never intended to show full frontal nudity even tho he coyly hinted that he would when he was promoting the Playgirl photoshoot. Here are a few preview screencaps from Levi‘s shower photos along with his chat with Malkin last night:

Despite what Sarah Palin may think, Levi Johnston insists he’s not an aspiring porn star. And that’s exactly why we’re not going to be seeing all of Mr. Johnston’s junk in Playgirl. In fact, Johnston tells me he never had plans to go full frontal because… “I’m 19,” he told me at last night’s GQ Men of the Year party at the Chateau Marmont. “I don’t want that image. I don’t want to get into porn. I don’t want to get into X-rated adult videos.” Johnston says he’s seen some of the shots Playgirl is planning on releasing. “They turned out well,” he said. “I’m happy with them.” What do his friends back in Alaska think of all this? “I’m sure my friends are going to check them out and give me crap about them, but whatever,” Johnston said with a shrug. “I’m having fun with all of it.”

What a tease … I guess we had to be kidding ourselves if we really thought he was going to show us the full monty. Tho, to be honest, I don’t know that many of us (me, included) would’ve been so willing to believe that he was truly gonna go balls out (as it were) if we hadn’t been misled to believe that he was really gonna show all. It looks like we’re not gonna see much more than what we’ve been seeing in these censored preview photos that have been airing on entertainment news shows all week long. Yesterday we got our first look at the first photo released by Playgirl from their much ballyhooed photoshoot with Levi Johnston but The Insider last night took us on the set of the shoot to give us more of a preview of what we can expect in the mag … to be honest, and this should come as no surprise, there isn’t all that much to crow about:

Now, obvs, The Insider cannot show us anything of any substance on broadcast television but we learned early yesterday that there will be nothing to see anyways … Levi‘s Playgirl shoot will be painfully bare of any p33n which seems to negate the whole reason for posing in a nudie mag in the first place. But, as you can see in the first screencap, Levi does give a hint of what he’s hiding in his athletic shorts and, well, it makes a little more sense why he’d be so shy and choose not to show what his mama gave him. Earlier today we learned the disappointing yet not at all surprising news that Levi Johnston‘s Playgirl “nudie” photospread will NOT, I repeat will NOT show any penis. I find it very misleading for Playgirl to announce that Johnston will be “nude” and not mention that he will not be “full frontally” nude. It sounds like all we’re gonna get is a bunch of carefully posed photos that show bare ass, a hockey stick and not much more. To be fair, the photos can still be very hot as one needn’t show it all for a photo to be steamy (which is likely what this “wet armpit” preview photo wants us to believe) … it just seems incredibly lame for Levi Johnston to fall short of expectations, as it were, and wimp out on showing us everything he’s got to offer.

We have been hoodwinked … bamboozled … straight up lied to, y’all. Levi Johnston‘s manager Tank Jones insisted that he was “90% sure” that Levi would be showing his penis in his much ballyhooed Playgirl photospread (due out this week) but today we are learning that, in fact, Levi‘s photospread falls in that dreaded 10% land of no penis. According to Gawker, there will be no penis … I repeat, there will be no full frontal penis shown in Levi Johnston‘s Playgirl photospread:

Playgirl’s seen the results of last week’s photo shoot, and while there may be glimpses of Levi Johnston’s baby maker, there is no full-frontal shot. Let the blame game begin! Playgirl spokesman Daniel Nardicio has released a statement blaming Levi’s manager Tank Jones. “He did not give ‘full-frontal’ as his manager Tank Jones reported he would. We’re thrilled with the photos we got, and are confident people will love them. Although there may be glimpses, we did not get full on frontal nudity.” That is very sad news indeed. Playgirl had one job to do: get a photo of that famous hockey stick and it failed to do so. Maybe ironically-named photographer Gregory Weiner couldn’t make an intimate connection with his model and convince him to bare all. Maybe Tank Jones was trying to keep him covered to protect his client’s image. Maybe Levi just got shy at the last minute and couldn’t go through with it. Still, after all the hype Tank created about how “fearless” Levi is and how he was ready to show us everything, we feel very let down and a little bit lied to. Tank was totally the madam that said we would have the full run of all the girls in the house, but when we arrived, all we got was a scratchy hand job from a buck-toothed cross-eye in a closet. That said, we still can’t wait to see the pictures.

Yep … this is a bunch of bullshizz, y’all. Last week we learned that Levi would be brandishing a hockey stick prop in his photospread but that sounds about the extent of any stick action we’ll be getting in these photos. On the one hand, I can’t say that I’m very surprised … even with the promise of “90%” certainty that he’d be showing his wang I wasn’t totally convinced it would be on full display. Not for nothing but I’m still curious to see how well this issue of Playgirl is received. I say, No wang? No way! What a rip off.

Earlier this week, Levi Johnston posed for his nekkid photospread for Playgirl magazine and today we are hearing from Life & Style magazine just went down at said photoshoot. As you may or may not be aware, Levi was on his high school hockey team and it seems that his prowess at utilizing big hockey sticks served as some inspiration for the photoshoot … tho, it remains to be seen just how big of a stick he is working with:

It’s Levi Johnston’s last day at the Playgirl photo shoot, and Life & Style has exclusive details. “The shoot is going well,” Levi’s manager and bodyguard, Tank Jones, tells Life & Style. “Levi is standing naked right now — he’s got one hand down there.” “In terms of props, he’s used a hockey stick. That’s the only prop in the shoot,” he adds. “You’ll see what you need to see in these photos.” So how is the 19-year-old father handling his first nude photo shoot? “I’m good!” Levi tells Life & Style. “I haven’t gone through them yet, but there are a lot of good shots.”

I understand the shoot was done over 3 days total. I believe one day was spent in a locker room, which is prolly where the hockey stick comes into play. I also understand that this special Levi Johnston issue of Playgirl magazine will be ready and on newsstands at some point in the coming week. For all we know, printing presses might be in overdrive RIGHT NOW churning out copies of the much-anticipated issue. Alls I know is that all this hype better be worth it … I must admit, I’m intrigued by the hockey theme. We should soon know if Levi‘s hockey stick is really worth waiting to see.

Levi Johnston, who arrived in NYC, NY earlier week to prepare for his nekkid photoshoot for Playgirl magazine, has decided that he is going to fight for shared custody of his only begotten son Tripp Easton Mitchell (borne of Bristol Palin, eldest daughter of the former governor of Alaska Sarah Palin). According to Johnston, the Palin family don’t want to let him anywhere near his son … so his only recourse is to take them to court:

In his custody fight for son Tripp, Levi Johnston says he’s up against a powerful foe: Sarah Palin. Johnston, 19, claims the former vice presidential candidate has been part of an effort to keep Tripp away from Johnston by exerting influence on 19-year-old daughter Bristol, who is Tripp’s mother. “She has a big impact on what Bristol does and thinks,” Johnston tells Entertainment Tonight. “Bristol looks up to Sarah. I don’t know why they just don’t want me in his life.” But Johnston insists he doesn’t fear Palin as he gets ready to sue for joint custody. “She ain’t nothing,” he says. “Just because she ran for vice president and was the governor of Alaska, doesn’t intimidate me. Sarah has no legal thing on Tripp, she’s just the grandmother.” He adds: “By the end of the year we’re gonna go to court for joint custody. I’m just done with it. When there’s a kid involved you ain’t walking away.” When Johnston announced his intention to sue for custody, Palin’s camp did not respond to requests for comment. But her lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, told Britain’s The Guardian on Oct. 30, “Other than noting that Tripp’s father is always welcome to visit his son, we are unable to respond to these allegations as it is inappropriate to discuss child custody matters publicly.”

Um … yeah, but before Levi Johnston goes to court to fight for custody rights, he’s going to pose nekkid for Playgirl magazine. I don’t know that that is the wisest course of actions if he is truly intent on proving to the court that he deserves custodial rights to his child but … I wish him the best of luck. And speaking of that Playgirl shoot … Levi spoke with Life & Style magazine about his readiness to drop trou for Playgirl. Levi Johnston, who recently appeared on The Early Show on CBS not once but twice in the same week to regale the nation with dishy tales about the Palin family, has finally made his grand arrival in NYC where he will drop trou and bear, well, everything for the pages of Playgirl magazine. You may recall that Playgirl announced last year that they were closing up shop on their print edition and would exist only online … but Levi‘s decision to show off his johnston has inspired the publication to revive its print edition for such a special occasion. Here are a few pics of Levi‘s arrival in NYC this weekend and the story of how Playgirl is hoping that Levi‘s johnston will save its magazine:

As career moves go, it seemed almost inevitable that Levi Johnston would show the full monty in an adult magazine one day. This, after all, is a guy who got Sarah Palin’s daughter pregnant at the age of 17, then turned on the Palin family when the couple broke up, telling juicy tales to anyone who would listen, including that his ex-future mother-in-law knew he was having sex in her home, and that she referred to her child with Down syndrome as her “retarded baby.” More surprising was the news that Johnston would be posing for Playgirl, which had actually folded the year before. At the time it closed, the magazine, which was founded in 1973 as a feminist response to Playboy, was seen as a victim of the recession. Beyond that, adult content had long ago moved away from newsstands and video stores and into the home, where it could be viewed instantly on a computer … As it turns out, Playgirl was only mostly dead. Like many other brands, Playgirl was kept alive online by its owner, Trans Digital Media, a private corporation in New York that owns magazines such as High Times, and provides soft-core content to cable companies like Time Warner and Comcast. A few months ago, TDM began mulling doing special issues and brought in a consultant named Daniel Nardicio. Getting Bristol Palin’s baby daddy to pose in the buff was Nardicio’s first big idea, and it’s a stunt that’s in keeping with Nardicio’s outré tastes … “We’re trying to change the face of Playgirl,” Nardicio says by phone. “The reason I wanted to work with them is that I think of it as a classic American brand that got a little lost. The women working on it weren’t keeping up with the times. They didn’t admit that there were a lot of gay men reading the magazine and gay men don’t want to see guys with flowing long locks looking like they came from the cover of a Danielle Steel novel.” Though he is heterosexual, Levi Johnston has a considerable gay following. He posed shirtless for GQ, went to the Teen Choice awards with gay icon Kathy Griffin, and did a Skype chat with Bravo’s openly gay programming executive, Andy Cohen, who has jokingly called Johnston “my boyfriend.” At first, Nardicio hoped the photographer Terry Richardson (who is known for his oversaturated eroticized pictures) might be available to do the Johnston pictorial, but the assignment went to photographer Greg Weiner instead. Nardicio is particularly pleased with the serendipitous pun. “His name is actually Greg Weiner!” he beams. “That’s the funny thing.” And Nardicio’s already begun scouting locations for Johnston’s shoot at locker rooms and ice hockey rinks, which was leaked to Gawker, earlier this week. Then, on Thursday, The New York Post’s Page Six ran an item suggesting the boy from Alaska might be “worried about how his manhood may look” in such an chilly environment. Nardicio says the story was “total bullshit,” though he admits he hasn’t actually seen Johnston naked nor has he asked his representatives about the size of the goods. “I don’t think it’s appropriate,” he says. “I ask models [for a look], but they’re not famous. When they’re famous, I’m not going to worry about it. We wouldn’t turn away Levi if he had a small penis” … Asked how often Playgirl is planning on publishing next year following the Johnston issue, Nardicio professes not to be sure. They’re thinking six times a year, but it could be four, which Nardicio prefers. It’s all pretty informal, down to the fact that the magazine doesn’t even have a top editor. “That’s what’s so great about it,” he says. “It’s a group effort. We’re having fun with it.” As far as Nardico is concerned, publishing nude photographs of Levi is just a means to an end—the most important thing is knowing who the reader is and tailoring Playgirl’s content accordingly. Or, as he puts it: “We’re not gay, we’re not straight. We’re for anyone who likes cock.”

LMAOOOOOO! I mean … wow … for a major publication like this to be pinning its hopes on someone like Levi Johnston, well, it just goes to show what sort of state the publication is in. To be honest, this is prolly the most anyone has ever heard of a single issue of Playgirl magazine EVER! The fact that this story has been broadcast so far and wide means that the mag will surely sell well … and even if it doesn’t, what does Playgirl have to lose? While I don’t believe that Levi‘s issue of Playgirl will break records, I think the interest level is there enough to generate a decent number of sales. Yesterday we saw an interview with Levi Johnston, former potential son-in-law of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, on The Early Show wherein he talked about all the potentially damaging secrets that he claims to know about Palin. In response, Palin issued a statement after Johnston‘s televised appearance denouncing his claims but before we get to that, let’s get to Part 2 of Johnston‘s interview on The Early Show. This part of the interview is all about Levi and his plans for the future … with the focus on his upcoming nude pictorial for Playgirl. Levi explains why he is dropping trou for the publication (and he will be showing it all … that means P33N people!) and explains that he is willing to do what it takes to care for his family since he has become the sole money maker for his family since his mother was incarcerated for selling prescription drugs. Hey, a guy’s gotta do what a guy’s gotta do. Johnston also reveals more dirt on Sarah Palin, including his claim that Palin tried to get Johnston and her daughter Bristol to hide their pregnancy so that she could adopt the baby herself. Yikes! Levi Johnston, who gave a dishy interview to Vanity Fair magazine and will be appearing in the nude for Playgirl, made an appearance on The Early Show this morning to talk about all the things he could spill about his former almost-mother-in-law Sarah Palin (former Vice Presidential candidate and former Alaska governor) in a seemingly candid interview. Johnston reveals that he is hiding “huge things” about Sarah Palin that would really “hurt her” but out of love for his child (with Palin daughter Bristol) he has thus far refused to divulge. Levi Johnston says he’s keeping some “huge” things about Sarah Palin from the public. In Part One of a two-part exclusive interview with “Early Show” co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez, which aired Wednesday, the father of Palin’s grandson says, “There are some things that I have that are huge. And I haven’t said them because I’m not gonna hurt her that way. ” … I have things that can, you know — that would get her in trouble, and could hurt her. Will hurt her. But I’m not gonna go that far. You know, I mean, if I really wanted to hurt her, I could, very easily. But there’s — I’m not gonna do it. I’m not going that far.” Johnston says he’s referring to things Palin did while she was governor of Alaska. Asked whether those actions were illegal or immoral, he refused to elaborate. Johnston also told Rodriguez he’s been hearing a lot about his saying in a recent first-person tell-all in Vanity Fair magazine that Palin routinely referred to her baby, Trig, who suffers from Down syndrome, as “retarded.” “I was just in shock for the first time I heard it,” Johnston recalled for Rodriguez. “And then she’d say it regularly. And I think she was joking, but it doesn’t make it right.” Still, Johnston remarked to Rodriguez, “Those are just little … things I put in Vanity Fair. You know, all the big things I got, I’m keeping — you know, I’m keeping them in, and — you know, it’s just something that probably will never come out.” He added that he’s “sure Sarah’s got something … coming for me,” perhaps in her soon-to-be-released memoir, but, “I’m not worried about her saying anything about me. I’ve really never done anything bad. I don’t have anything to hide. So she can go on and say what she wants.” Johnston stood by his contention in Vanity Fair that Sarah and Todd Palin would not only regularly talk about divorce — they’d do it in front of their children, adding to Rodriguez, “I’m sure it really hurt their kids, you know. I didn’t like it. I wasn’t even their kid.” Spokespeople for the Palins deny the divorce assertion. Johnston told Rodriguez Palin’s daughter, Bristol Palin, the mother of his son, Tripp, did most of the mothering of Trig, because Sarah and Todd weren’t around much. Now an aspiring actor and model, Johnston is going for the ultimate exposure — in an upcoming issue of Playgirl magazine. He told Rodriguez the Playgirl spread will be done “tastefully,” saying, “I’m not gonna just go out there and get naked.” He expands on that in Part Two of the interview, which airs Thursday. The interview with Rodriguez is the latest in a he-said-she-said battle with the Palin family. Johnston burst onto the public stage at the Republican National Convention in August, the handsome boyfriend of vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s pregnant daughter. After the Republicans lost the election, Johnston and Bristol broke up. She had his baby in December. But he says the Palins shut him out of their lives. And that’s when the battle began, each side accusing the other of lying.

Now, because Johnston and Palin have been embroiled in a war of words you have to take what each side says with a huge grain of salt … that being said, if Palin really is guilty of “playfully” calling her child “my retarded baby” then I am truly disgusted. Considering that Johnston was pulled into the Palin household after he got Bristol pregs (in an effort to keep better media control of his person) it makes sense that he would be privy to some very embarrassing and damaging things about the family. Tho, the fact that he’s pimping his upcoming nude pictorial for Playgirl in the process does take a bit of weight away from his claims.
