Here is our first look at one of the photos that is to be published in an upcoming issue of Elle magazine which features Leighton Meester and her Gossip Girl co-star Ed Westwick lookin’ all kinds of gothy glam:

This photo was first posted anonymously on Twitter so it’s quite possible that it’s not meant for public consumption just yet. Nonetheless, it has made its way to us for our viewing pleasure. I’m not sure how I feel about this photo, to be quite honest. The black lipstick might be a bit much … but I am curious to see the other photos from this shoot. Mebbe in context, the black lips will make more sense. Do y’all like it this photo?

Back in June we learned that a new celebrity sex tape had hit the Internets that featured Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester and since then she has kept pretty quiet about the tape. But this month, Meester is featured on the cover and in the pages of Harper’s Bazaar magazine and she finally opens up about the embarrassing tape that has been making the rounds online for the past couple of months which, according to her, is “not real”. Here is Leighton’s Harper’s cover and a portion of her coverstory interview:

Leighton Meester understands that being on a buzzed-about show automatically puts her in the spotlight – but she doesn’t have to like it. “I don’t want most of what comes along with all of this,” says the Gossip Girl star in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar, on newsstands Aug. 18. One particular downside of fame is a rumored sex tape of the star with an ex-boyfriend that has allegedly been shopped around. “[The tape] is not real, so it makes me sort of sad,” says the actress. “It’s unfortunate that it got carried as far as it did.” Meester says the rumor has taught her some lessons about life. “I definitely understand the nature of people better now and that the mere allegation of something like that could be headline news. People think it’s real because somebody says it is.” But the star has friends who watch out for her. “I feel like my friends are in a cult because we’re like, ‘No outsiders!’ ” she says. “I’ve never been crazy. I’m a very good girl, to be honest. I don’t do anything to hurt anybody. Honestly, all I ever do is work.” At work, costar Ed Westwick is one person who can vouch for Meester’s sweetness – and her natural good looks. “The first thing I thought when I met Leighton was … hell, this girl’s gorgeous. And she was incredibly sweet.”

I’m confused … how exactly is the explicit tape “not real”? If she means that it was prolly not filmed for public viewing then she’s most likely correct but to say that the sex tape she made with her then boyfriend is “not real” isn’t really accurate. Whatever the case may be, Leighton strikes me as the kind of woman who learns from her mistakes and I highly doubt she’ll ever get messed up in a sex tape scandal like this again (unlike, say, Vanessa Hudgens, who clearly didn’t learn her lesson the first time nekkid pics of her made their way to the Internets). On the season finale of Gossip Girl last Spring many changes took place with the gang to set up the coming season (filming now in NYC). We saw that Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass finally got together and we were introduced to the lovechild of Lily van der Woodsen and Rufus Humphrey. Here on the blog a few weeks ago, we learned that Joanna Garcia (formerly of The CW series Privileged) has joined the cast … and, of course, Michelle Trachtenberg is back as Georgina Sparks. Here are a few new pics of some of the cast on the NYC set of Gossip Girl this week:

I LOVE seeing Ed Westwick in fun t-shirt … clearly he was not in full Chuck Bass costume yet ‘cuz Chuck would never be seen in public wearing a t-shirt. I also love that Chace Crawford is carrying Joanna Garcia’s purse. Chace totally strikes me as the purse-carrying sort of fella. Late last month we learned that filming production got underway in NYC on the 3rd season of Gossip Girl and shortly thereafter we also learned that both Hilary Duff and Joanna Garcia (who previously starred in The CW series Privileged which has been canceled) are joining the cast for the 3rd season. Today we get to see a few new pics from the set of GG where a couple of co-stars were filming a sexy kissing scene:

Now, it really should come as no surprise to fans of GG who these two kissing co-stars are … but, just in case and to err on the side of caution, I’ll keep the spoileryish reveal behind the cut. Here are a few pics from the NYC set of Gossip Girl which went into filming production of its third season earlier today. Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Blake Lively and Chace Crawford were all spotted in Gramercy Park today gettin’ back to work on their hit CW TV series … behold:

Leighton, who we saw earlier today in the new Cobra Starship music video Good Girls Go Bad, is lookin’ very fresh-faced in these photos. It really looks like the memory of her leaked sex tape is but a thing of the past. Ed, who celebrated his birthday with girlfriend and GG co-star Jessica Szohr over the weekend, was lookin’ mighty smart in his snazzy suspenders. Blake Lively was lookin’ a hot mess but, in her defense, it looks like she had yet to hit the make-up trailer. Chace Crawford looks his usual perfection. Ah … it’s good to see the GG kids back in action. While some of us will be enjoying a Summer vacay, these folks are just getting back to work. I’m sure we’ll be seeing much more from the set of Gossip Girl in the weeks and months to come.

Last month we learned that Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester had teamed up with Cobra Starship to duet with the band on their new single Good Girls Go Bad from their upcoming new album Hot Mess. Not only does Leighton sing on the track but, as we saw from behind the scene photos from the vid shoot, she also appears in the music video for the song.
