Though her days of battling Kristen Cavallari and Speidi in the realm of reality TV are officially behind her, no way is Lauren Conrad headed for the unemployment line. But she doesn’t expect to run up the aisle to collect an Oscar, either. The former The Hills star, best-selling author, fashion designer and spokesperson spent her week launching a second clothing line and finalizing a deal to convert her semi-autobiographical novel L.A Candy into a feature film. “I think my acting is offensive!” Conrad, 23, tells PEOPLE in response to a question of whether she’d consider playing the movie version of Jane Roberts, the heroine of her novel. “I’m an awful actor, I’m not super comfortable with it. In fact I was just trying to do lines … and they’ll tell you, I cannot memorize lines.” Conrad, appearing in West Hollywood for an event sponsored by Kohl’s Department Store to launch her LC Lauren Conrad label, will partner with Temple Hill Entertainment (the group behind the Twilight franchise) in bringing L.A. Candy to the big screen, and though she has no designs on playing the lead, rest assured that the stunning multi-tasker will be even more hands-on than Brody Jenner at a Playboy party. “If you’re putting your name on something,” Conrad tells PEOPLE about the film project, “it’s really important to be a part of it, or else people will just do whatever they want with it, and then it’s not really you, and it won’t be true. I’m planning on being a part of it from start to finish.”

LC was asked by a reporter about her opinion on the new season of The Hills (which features Kristin Cavallari as the main protagonist) and she confessed that she purposely will NOT watch the show so she can honestly have no opinion. Oh yeah, she is a very smart cookie. LC may not be all that exciting drama-wise but she is a very intelligent person and I commend her for making the choices in her life that she’s made thus far. She rode the reality TV fame train long enough to launch a successful business and now she’s focusing on that … brilliant. I’m not entirely sold on her writing skills and I’m not all that confident that a movie made from her book will be a box office blockbuster but she’s going for hers and I wish her all the best. LC is really one of the good kids … here’s hoping she keeps her head on straight.

LC’s strongest asset is her beautiful face … this is a great photo, cover or not. While it perplexes me to no end why Shape magazine felt it necessary to release 3 magazine covers in the same month, I guess at least readers have a choice when determining which copy to buy. I’d take the face one, you know, if I actually read Shape mag.

She might be a bona fide California beach girl, but even Lauren Conrad admits to slacking in the exercise department sometimes. For her second Shape cover (her first was January 2008), the New York Times best-selling author chats about her romance with actor Kyle Howard and her new clothing line for Kohl’s while sitting pretty for three very different cover shots. At the beginning of her relationship, Lauren admits to getting soft around the middle. “I call it the ‘boyfriend layer’,” she tells the magazine. “We were having more romantic dinners out, and I was exercising less.” So what’s a girl to do? Take your dates to the gym, of course! “I just ask Kyle, ‘You feel like working out?’ It’s more fun than hitting the gym alone,” says Lauren. The couple spends most of their time outdoors anyway. “We like doing outdoor stuff: tennis, bike riding, kayaking, stand-up surfing, hiking in the canyons around L.A.,” says Lauren. And when the happy couple isn’t exercising together, Lauren is busy working on her newest adventure in design, LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s , which will hit stores in October. Her line of affordable and flattering jeans and blouses will be perfect for every shape. “It’s all about finding silhouettes that highlight the best parts of your figure,” says Lauren. As an added bonus, Lauren took three lucky Shape readers with very different body types shopping and shared some fashion advice with them. It’s about time she started publicly acknowledging her romantic affiliation with actor Kyle Howard. They’ve been an item for a very long time now, way before she quit The Hills, and is only now just talking about him in interviews. You know, it’s amazing that LC has all this time to do all that outdoor stuff she listed, “tennis, bike riding, kayaking, stand-up surfing, hiking in the canyons around L.A.”, and still have time to write books and design all her clothing lines. Now that Lauren Conrad is off “The Hills,” Star reports, her boyfriend, Kyle Howard, has proposed, and “Lauren barely let him get the words out before she said yes.” Not least because she wanted to get engaged at the very moment that Heidi Montag was vomiting in the Costa Rican jungle.

Aww … while this is a sweet story, I have huge doubts that there is any validity to it at all. LC strikes me as a very level-headed person and the notion that she would get married at this point in her life seems unlikely to me. And, let’s be real here … Star magazine is not really a bastion of reliable news reporting. Even still … I can only imagine what kind of lavish wedding that LC would have if she really were to get hitched. I’m fairly certain it would be the kind of wedding that would blow the Speidi ceremony out of the water. And I’d bet hard cash that LC would not be inviting the Pratts to her nuptials. But … alas … I fear this rumor is merely just that … a rumor. Let’s hold off on the wedding gifts for now.

Selena Gomez, rockin’ a new shorter ‘do, came to the event without her new friend Taylor Lautner (much to the other female attendees dismay, I’m sure) and Melissa Joan Hart was among the celebrity parents in attendance who brought along their little ones. For 20 years, the A Time For Heroes Celebrity Carnival has helped raise funds for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation which attempts to fund research for children suffering from AIDS. It may not seem like much but this annual event does much to raise much needed funds for this very important charity. Kudos to all the celebs who continue to make time for events like this.

Paris Hilton says her beau Doug Reinhardt won’t be appearing on MTV’s The Hills again. “The show is, like, so lame and fake. He doesn’t even want to be a part of it,” Hilton told Usmagazine.com Wednesday at the Fifi Awards in NYC. Lauren Conrad famously dumped Reinhardt on the show. Brody Jenner later accused Reinhardt of going behind Conrad’s back by pursuing Stephanie Pratt. But Hilton told Us the show portrayed Reinhardt “in a way he’s not.” “They make up relationships when they’re not there, and he just thinks it’s lame,” she said. “I’ve never seen the show in my life. I have no idea what it’s about. But he just thought it was cheesy.” Reinhardt’s reality days aren’t entirely over. He will appear on the second season of Paris Hilton’s My New BFF, which debuts June 2 on MTV. “It was great,” she told Us. “He was always on set every single day, giving fun ideas. With him there, he always gave the most amazing ideas. They actually hired him as a producer to be on BFF Dubai [Hilton filmed a version of her American reality show there]. They loved his ideas so much.”

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I cannot even believe some of the things that come out of Hilton’s mouth. She is SOOOOO ridiculous, it’s beyond hilarious. I suppose the logical question would be how can Paris Hilton think The Hills is “fake and lame” if she’s “never seen the show in [her] life”? At least we can take comfort that her reality TV show My New BFF isn’t fake and lame, right? I just pray to the gods above that Paris and Doug will stay together forever … FOREVER! They so deserve one another more than any two people on Earth.

Heidi Montag is officially Mrs. Spencer Pratt. The Hills stars got married in an early evening ceremony at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Calif., on Saturday, PEOPLE has confirmed. Montag, 22, and Pratt, 25, exchanged vows before about 200 guests, including Audrina Patridge, Kristin Cavallari, Brody Jenner and Frankie Delgado. The bride wore jewels from Neil Lane, including a pear-shaped diamond floral necklace with multiple diamond chains layered over it, diamond earrings and diamond hairpins, which she picked out the day before the nuptials. Pratt borrowed a pair of diamond cufflinks from the jeweler for the big day.

Early Saturday, the couple arrived at the church in a white Rolls Royce Phantom. Before the ceremony, an airplane flew overhead and wrote “Spencer loves Heidi” in the sky. Pratt, looking dapper in a black suit, smiled and signed autographs for fans outside the church. Meanwhile, Montag posted multiple updates on Twitter throughout the day. “This is going to be the best day of my life,” she wrote at one point. “Thank you God for Spencer.” She also described her wedding dress as “amazing – like a swan princess.”

After making multiple statements that she would not be attending the wedding, Lauren LC Conrad ended up attending the nuptials after all … opting to make a small cameo (most likely for the cameras) before making a hasty exit before the ceremony was over. Five months after eloping in Mexico, Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have said “I do” again. Montag, 22, and Pratt, 25, wed in front of more than 200 guests Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Calif., Usmagazine.com has confirmed. (A skywriter above the church wrote “Spencer Loves Heidi” numerous times in the clouds before the ceremony.) “Today Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt joined hands in marriage during an afternoon ceremony at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, CA,” said Rick Rhodes, a rep for the couple. “Dr. Twining F. Campbell served as pastor in front of 200 family and friends. Afterwards, the newlywed couple enjoyed an intimate reception at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.” Montag — who was draped in close to $1.2 million in Neil Lane jewels — wore a custom-made, $19,000 Monique Lhuillier dress. Her father walked her down the aisle. Her sister, Holly, served as maid of honor. Pratt’s sister, Stephanie, was also a bridesmaid in the ceremony. Pratt wore an Ermenegildo Zegna suit, as did all of his groomsmen. His niece, Ava, was the flower girl. Both Pratt and Montag didn’t shed any tears during the ceremony, a guest tells Us. They also didn’t say their own vows; the minister did. In addition to Pratt’s family, all four of Montag’s parents were present – including her mother, Darlene Egelhof, who initially opposed the couple eloping in Mexico last November. Lauren Conrad, who initially said she would not attend, had a change of heart and showed up, along with Brody Jenner and girlfriend Jayde Nicole, Audrina Patridge, Frankie Delgado, Kristin Cavallari and Lauren “Lo” Bosworth. The ceremony was filmed for their MTV show. Music producers David Foster and Cathy Dennis — who worked with Montag and also produced Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” — were also present. “This is going to be the best day of my life,” Montag wrote on her Twitter page. “Thank you God for Spencer.” She also said her wedding dress was “amazing – like a swan princess.”

For all the crazed hoopla that surrounds this attention-seeking couple, I think the ceremony sounded pretty traditional … and, to my knowledge, there weren’t any overdramatic hijinks at all to be had at the event (unless you count the fact that “Stacie” the bartender [who Spencer "flirted" with this season on The Hills] was invited to the wedding). Heidi threw out her wedding bouquet on the steps of the church in full view of the cameras …

… and that was about the apex of the excitement. For what it’s worth, the ceremony sounded really nice and it does show that the couple — when they are being serious — are capable of doing things the normal way. MTV has released an official statement of congratulations for the couple:

“MTV wishes Heidi and Spencer the best and can’t wait to share their wedding with The Hills fans later this season.”

And that, folks, is that. They’re hitched … for reals. Speidi will be forever joined in holy matrimony … just as the reality TV gods intended. I suppose congrats are in order … yes?

Yes, yes … the usual suspects posing for the cameras. I’m not sure what exactly the criteria is for one to be deemed to have Hot Hollywood Style but I guess this is it. I seem to recall that previous parties from previous years seemed to have a more impressive turnout. In any event, it was US Weekly’s party and they can cry if they want to (and if I were them, I would). Better luck next year!

Attending The Hills panel at PaleyFest without being a regular viewer of The Hills is like going to a Friday night party at some condo off Sunset where everybody knows each other and nobody knows you. So you stand there amid an attractive crowd and nod and smile and pretend like you get their jokes. Helpfully, before the panel the producers screen a 20-minute compilation of clips from The Hills that summarizes the first five seasons of the hit MTV docu-soap. The clips are either perfectly edited, or the series has incredible amounts of filler because when the lights come up you feel like you just sat through every single episode and understand everything that’s happened: A blonde girl named Lauren moved to Hollywood and fell in love with another blonde girl named Heidi. They broke up when Heidi fell in love with a blond guy named Spencer. Each season the girls wore more obvious makeup and Lauren cries a lot. Oh, and at one point Lauren went to France. But when the cast comes onstage there’s a glaring omission. Heidi, who was billed to be onstage with Lauren, is not here. This is a considerable letdown, even for those of us who just started watching The Hills roughly 20 minutes ago. We’re told she’s planning for a “big event” this weekend, which is rumored to be her wedding to Spencer. Needless to say, The Hills cameras will be there, and three cast members say they are invited, none of which are Lauren. The biggest news bits from the Q&A:

– Producers were asked if the show will continue beyond the fifth season and gave the usual “we’re in talks … seeing if there are more stories to tell,” etc., etc., answer.

HMMM … I don’t think there was anyone who seriously doubted that it was Spencer who came up with the sex tape rumor, I mean … c’mon. The fact that he finally admits it on camera should come as no shock to anyone. Since this is the “last” season of The Hills, they have to pull out all the stops … the sex tape thing is one big loose end that was never tied up and the Speidi wedding is another. It really sounds like LC is done with the show … which means that any attempts to keep it going without her are going to be really bad, I think. Laguna Beach didn’t really fare so well once she left the show … and when they moved the drama to Newport Beach (introducing a new cast of characters) the whole thing went into the toilet. If MTV is smart, they’ll just let the show end on a relative high note.

But that doesn’t mean they may not try to launch a new show around Heidi and Spencer. It remains to be seen if those two can carry a show all by themselves but, I’m telling you, they’re gonna try. First, tho, they’ve got a little wedding to get thru … let’s see if they can pull that off before they think about launching their own TV show.
