What Could've Been
Watch: The Title Sequence To Lauren Conrad’s Failed MTV Show Has Been Revealed

Early last month we learned that MTV decided to NOT air Lauren LC Conrad‘s new reality TV show based around her life as a fashion designer but today we get to see a small part of what was meant to be on that show. The opening sequence of LC‘s show, which has been posted online, was created by the design team who made those very cool stop-motion commercials for the Amazon Kindle … and you can check out the unaired opening sequence of LC‘s show in full below.

Thanksssssssss ... but No Thanks
MTV Decides NOT To Air Lauren ‘LC’ Conrad’s New TV Show

Sad news for those of you hoping to see former Hills star Lauren LC Conrad back on MTV … cuz MTV decided to pass on her new TV show and will NOT be airing it at all. As you may recall, we saw photos back in November of LC filming scenes for her new show but, alas, MTV decided … Nah, no thanks.

She's back
Lauren ‘LC’ Conrad Films Her New Reality TV Show With Her Mother

Back in September we learned that Lauren LC Conrad would be making her return to reality TV and today we get to see photos of LC taping scenes for her as-yet-untitled TV show with her mother Kathy here in SoCal yesterday afternoon:

While we do not yet know the tile of her show, we do know that it A.) is being filmed for MTV, B.) will focus on her fashion design career and C.) will bring back that sweet, uncomplicated feel that The Hills provided early on in its run. It looks like these scenes with her mother are meant to tie in LC‘s familial ties to her new career. I’m curious to see who the other “characters” will be on her show. MTV is really good at churning out these shows, so I wouldn’t be surprised if LC‘s new TV show hits the airwaves by NY Fashion Week early next year.

"I'm happy to be partnering with MTV"
Lauren ‘LC’ Conrad Announces Her Return To Reality TV

Lauren LC Conrad, the girl who found fame and fortune on the MTV reality TV series shows Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills, has announced that she will be making her return to reality TV on the network that made her a star. As you may recall, LC bowed out of appearing on the final season of The Hills to focus on other projects but after a couple years off she is now ready to step back into the reality TV limelight:

Former “Hills” star Lauren Conrad is set to return to the network that made her famous for a new reality project, The Hollywood Reporter confirms exclusively. Conrad, 24, will be the focus of a documentary-style reality series for MTV following the budding fashion designer as she creates a line of evening wear and builds a fashion house — from the ground up. “I’m so excited to take on this new project that really focuses on my true passion,” Conrad tells THR. “I’m happy to be partnering with MTV because I have had such an amazing relationship with them and love being a part of the network.” Berman Braun will be producing the new reality series. “We are thrilled to be in business with a terrific young entrepreneur like Lauren,” Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun of Berman Braun say in a statement to THR. “It will be a lot of fun to be exploring her new work adventure with her.” “We are so excited to be working with Lauren again,” Tony DiSanto, president of programming at MTV, tells THR. “She is family we are very proud of her. When we shot the test tape for Laguna Beach she was 17 now she’s a mogul.” With the third installment of her teen novel series due out next month, the N.Y. Times best-selling author has already established herself in the fashion world with the Lauren Conrad collection that debuted at L.A. Fashion Week in March 2008 and launched line of casual wear with Kohl’s department stores in 2009.

It makes perfect sense that LC would return to MTV with a new reality series, after all, they are the network that really helped her form her career. I’m certain MTV was very interested in working with LC again, after all, she is the young girl whose squeaky clean image allowed them to make a whole lotta money. My guess is that this new deal is a very lucrative one for LC. She prolly had offers from many networks so MTV must’ve paid a very pretty penny to lure her back to their network. I’m not sure how interested I would be in watching this new show but I can see how young girls everywhere might find value in seeing a show about how a positive lifestyle can lead to success. In a world where Lindsay Lohan‘s criminal behavior dominates the airwaves, I can see how a show focused on LC‘s success — earned in a very positive manner — might be a breath of fresh air. Are you excited that LC is coming back to TV? Do you think you’ll watch her new show?

The 25th Anniversary Issue
Megan Fox, Gabourey Sidibe, Amanda Seyfried & Lauren Conrad Do ‘Elle’ Magazine

Elle magazine is celebrating its 25th anniversary with its October Issue and they have decided to put Megan Fox, Gabourey Sidibe, Amanda Seyfried and Lauren LC Conrad each on the cover of their very own issues of this special anniversary edition. Here is our first look at Megan and Gabourey‘s Elle coverphotos along with quotes from each from their coverstory interviews:

Megan FoxOn being married: “When I talk about my husband [Brian Austin Green], I feel as if people roll their eyes. It’s like when you’re 16 and order a martini, and the waiter says, ‘Do you think I’m stupid?’ They can’t grasp that I’m old enough to be married.”

Gabourey SidibeOn celebrating her twenty-fifth birthday: “Part of me thought it would be weird if people knew I was a grown-up playing a teenager in Precious. So I had a twenty-first-birthday party. We had drinks and went to a strip club called Shotgun Willie’s.”

I love this idea! Elle always comes up with fun ways to celebrate their magazine, putting 4 different girls on 4 different covers is a great idea. After the jump, check out the coverphotos that feature Amanda Seyfriend and Lauren LC Conrad

After 4 years and 6 seasons, the show comes to a close
‘The Hills’ Is Dunzo . . . For ‘Real’!

Well … that’s it, the end, fini, over … dunzo! The Hills, the reality TV series that was spun off of the original MTV series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, came to an end last night as the series finale episode aired on MTV. For the past 4 years, The Hills has provided some of the most significant pop culture moments of celebrity/reality TV hybrid programming and provided us with hours of extremely addictive if primarily vapid entertainment. Whether you love the show, hate the show, love to hate the show or whatever … you cannot deny the impact of The Hills. I’ve been with these characters since Laguna Beach debuted back in 2004 and despite some waning excitement over the years, I’ve watched every single episode and for the most part loved the series overall. Here are some photos from last night’s red carpet arrivals at the The Hills Live: A Hollywood Ending afterparty which was held at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, CA:

“The Hills,” the landmark reality soap that cemented Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag and their pals as tabloid superstarlets, died Tuesday at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. It was 4. The popular series’ cause of death wasn’t provided, but MTV president of programming Tony DiSanto previously called it “an organic culmination of this saga.” “I’m oddly devastated that it’s come to an end,” said Ben “B-Side” Mandelker, who blogs about “The Hills” and its New York-set offspring “The City” on bsideblog.com. “My five-year goal was to appear as a sidekick on the show, ideally with a subtitle that defines me solely as the friend of someone else. Sadly, that dream never came to fruition.” After 102 installments, “The Hills” faded into the sunset Tuesday with a goodbye gala attended by the show’s cast and a wink, wink twist ending in the final episode that had friends-with-benefits Kristin Cavallari and Brody Jenner seemingly saying goodbye in front of the Hollywood sign, then appearing in front of a backdrop on the Paramount Studios’ lot. “With ‘The Hills’ off the air, I no longer have to field questions about the show’s authenticity,” said Mandelker. “I can think of about 10 different things I’d rather do than engage in yet another dumb argument about whether or not ‘The Hills’ is staged. I just tell people it’s like professional wrestling: Don’t take it so seriously, and enjoy the ride.” The club-hopping, music-pumping, cat-fighting, mascara-dripping, mouth-dropping, crystal-worshipping drama of “The Hills” debuted in 2006 as a spin-off of MTV’s popular high school reality docudrama “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.” The series originally documented the journey of bubbly “Laguna Beach” graduate Conrad to Los Angeles. As the show progressed, “The Hills” morphed from a coming-of-age story centering on the budding fashion designer to a splashy soap focusing on a bevy of beautiful people. Andy Dehnart, who has blogged about reality TV for more than 10 years at realityblurred.com, said the series’ lush cinematography and phony authenticity left a lasting impression on the medium. “The legacy of ‘The Hills’ is that it improved the visual language of reality TV while proving that a series could be sustained in an M.C. Escher-like circle where tabloid coverage of the cast members sustained interest in a narrative that largely ignored their real lives, including the intense media coverage that generated interest in the show,” said Dehnart … Throughout its tumultuous six seasons, tabloids and blogs were enamored with the show’s never-ending series of breakups, make-ups and fall-outs, most notably the epic divide between best friends Montag and Conrad, who left “The Hills” in the middle of the fifth season and was replaced by her sassy, raspy “Laguna Beach” adversary Cavallari. The transition from Conrad to Cavallari as the series’ narrator and Montag’s marriage to bad boy Spencer Pratt — the real wedding, not the phony Mexican one — marked the beginning of the end of “The Hills.” Villainous couple Pratt and Montag, who underwent 10 plastic surgery procedures earlier this year, were later phased out of the final season.

It’s amazing to me that a show like The Hills managed to not only define its own section of pop culture but it also managed to create its own mythology that actually took on a life of its own. Despite the fact that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt annoyed the hell out of me for the duration of their time on the show, I was a bit sad that the villainous Speidi were not included at all in last night’s finale. They had a huge hand in how the show turned out (for better or worse) and that could’ve been mentioned at the very least. THO, Spencer Pratt did manage to crash the afterparty last night … he showed up lookin’ crazy and deranged, which is exactly what you would expect from a guy like Spencer Pratt. After the jump, check out a few more photos including a cute cast photo from the party and some disturbing photos of Spencer

Milkin' it
Lauren ‘LC’ Conrad Dons The Milk’stache

Lauren LC Conrad, former star of MTV‘s The Hills and current author and fashion designer, is featured in the latest Got Milk? ad for the now pop culturally relevant promo campaign that promotes milk drinking. I believe that LC previously featured in a Got Milk? ad before but her ability to inspire folks to drink cow juice is so great, they decided to bring her back for another go ’round:

Meh. To be honest, this photo is kinda … meh. It’s cute and all and LC looks like, well, LC but … there’s nothing very interesting or novel about this particular photo. The most exciting thing is the flowery glass she is holding. I mean, I can only speak for myself but this photo does not make me want to drink milk. Does it work for you?

Clothes call
Lauren ‘LC’ Conrad Launches ‘LC Lauren Conrad For Kohl’s’

Lauren LC Conrad, who has graduated from the world of MTV reality TV programming, was on hand at a private event here in LA last night to celebrate the launch of her new clothing line for Kohl’s department store called LC Lauren Conrad. LC brought along her BFF and former reality TV co-star Lauren Lo Bosworth to last night’s event … she also spoke with People magazine about what a terrible actress she is, which seems horribly off-topic but is very likely very true:

Though her days of battling Kristen Cavallari and Speidi in the realm of reality TV are officially behind her, no way is Lauren Conrad headed for the unemployment line. But she doesn’t expect to run up the aisle to collect an Oscar, either. The former The Hills star, best-selling author, fashion designer and spokesperson spent her week launching a second clothing line and finalizing a deal to convert her semi-autobiographical novel L.A Candy into a feature film. “I think my acting is offensive!” Conrad, 23, tells PEOPLE in response to a question of whether she’d consider playing the movie version of Jane Roberts, the heroine of her novel. “I’m an awful actor, I’m not super comfortable with it. In fact I was just trying to do lines … and they’ll tell you, I cannot memorize lines.” Conrad, appearing in West Hollywood for an event sponsored by Kohl’s Department Store to launch her LC Lauren Conrad label, will partner with Temple Hill Entertainment (the group behind the Twilight franchise) in bringing L.A. Candy to the big screen, and though she has no designs on playing the lead, rest assured that the stunning multi-tasker will be even more hands-on than Brody Jenner at a Playboy party. “If you’re putting your name on something,” Conrad tells PEOPLE about the film project, “it’s really important to be a part of it, or else people will just do whatever they want with it, and then it’s not really you, and it won’t be true. I’m planning on being a part of it from start to finish.”

LC was asked by a reporter about her opinion on the new season of The Hills (which features Kristin Cavallari as the main protagonist) and she confessed that she purposely will NOT watch the show so she can honestly have no opinion. Oh yeah, she is a very smart cookie. LC may not be all that exciting drama-wise but she is a very intelligent person and I commend her for making the choices in her life that she’s made thus far. She rode the reality TV fame train long enough to launch a successful business and now she’s focusing on that … brilliant. I’m not entirely sold on her writing skills and I’m not all that confident that a movie made from her book will be a box office blockbuster but she’s going for hers and I wish her all the best. LC is really one of the good kids … here’s hoping she keeps her head on straight.

For the second time
Lauren ‘LC’ Conrad Does ‘Shape’ Magazine

Lauren LC Conrad — acclaimed reality TV star, fashion designer and author — is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Shape magazine for the second time in her esteemed career as a “somebody”. You may recall that LC graced the cover of Shape back in January of 2008 but I suppose it was time that they put her back on the cover … cuz, clearly the mag has run out of folks to feature. Here is our first look at LC‘s latest coverphoto for Shape along with a short preview of her coverstory interview:

She might be a bona fide California beach girl, but even Lauren Conrad admits to slacking in the exercise department sometimes. For her second Shape cover (her first was January 2008), the New York Times best-selling author chats about her romance with actor Kyle Howard and her new clothing line for Kohl’s while sitting pretty for three very different cover shots. At the beginning of her relationship, Lauren admits to getting soft around the middle. “I call it the ‘boyfriend layer’,” she tells the magazine. “We were having more romantic dinners out, and I was exercising less.” So what’s a girl to do? Take your dates to the gym, of course! “I just ask Kyle, ‘You feel like working out?’ It’s more fun than hitting the gym alone,” says Lauren. The couple spends most of their time outdoors anyway. “We like doing outdoor stuff: tennis, bike riding, kayaking, stand-up surfing, hiking in the canyons around L.A.,” says Lauren. And when the happy couple isn’t exercising together, Lauren is busy working on her newest adventure in design, LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s , which will hit stores in October. Her line of affordable and flattering jeans and blouses will be perfect for every shape. “It’s all about finding silhouettes that highlight the best parts of your figure,” says Lauren. As an added bonus, Lauren took three lucky Shape readers with very different body types shopping and shared some fashion advice with them. Pick up the September issue of Shape to hear more of Lauren’s advice on dressing for your body and working out.

It’s about time she started publicly acknowledging her romantic affiliation with actor Kyle Howard. They’ve been an item for a very long time now, way before she quit The Hills, and is only now just talking about him in interviews. You know, it’s amazing that LC has all this time to do all that outdoor stuff she listed, “tennis, bike riding, kayaking, stand-up surfing, hiking in the canyons around L.A.”, and still have time to write books and design all her clothing lines. Methinks Miss LC likes to embellish in her interviews just a wee bit ;) In any event, Team LC fans will wanna look for this issue of Shape when it hits newsstands next week. How much you wanna bet this issue of Shape will sell more than Heidi Montag‘s “No Nipples, No Vagina, No Ass” issue of Playboy?
