Lauren LC Conrad, who has graduated from the world of MTV reality TV programming, was on hand at a private event here in LA last night to celebrate the launch of her new clothing line for Kohl’s department store called LC Lauren Conrad. LC brought along her BFF and former reality TV co-star Lauren Lo Bosworth to last night’s event … she also spoke with People magazine about what a terrible actress she is, which seems horribly off-topic but is very likely very true:

Though her days of battling Kristen Cavallari and Speidi in the realm of reality TV are officially behind her, no way is Lauren Conrad headed for the unemployment line. But she doesn’t expect to run up the aisle to collect an Oscar, either. The former The Hills star, best-selling author, fashion designer and spokesperson spent her week launching a second clothing line and finalizing a deal to convert her semi-autobiographical novel L.A Candy into a feature film. “I think my acting is offensive!” Conrad, 23, tells PEOPLE in response to a question of whether she’d consider playing the movie version of Jane Roberts, the heroine of her novel. “I’m an awful actor, I’m not super comfortable with it. In fact I was just trying to do lines … and they’ll tell you, I cannot memorize lines.” Conrad, appearing in West Hollywood for an event sponsored by Kohl’s Department Store to launch her LC Lauren Conrad label, will partner with Temple Hill Entertainment (the group behind the Twilight franchise) in bringing L.A. Candy to the big screen, and though she has no designs on playing the lead, rest assured that the stunning multi-tasker will be even more hands-on than Brody Jenner at a Playboy party. “If you’re putting your name on something,” Conrad tells PEOPLE about the film project, “it’s really important to be a part of it, or else people will just do whatever they want with it, and then it’s not really you, and it won’t be true. I’m planning on being a part of it from start to finish.”

LC was asked by a reporter about her opinion on the new season of The Hills (which features Kristin Cavallari as the main protagonist) and she confessed that she purposely will NOT watch the show so she can honestly have no opinion. Oh yeah, she is a very smart cookie. LC may not be all that exciting drama-wise but she is a very intelligent person and I commend her for making the choices in her life that she’s made thus far. She rode the reality TV fame train long enough to launch a successful business and now she’s focusing on that … brilliant. I’m not entirely sold on her writing skills and I’m not all that confident that a movie made from her book will be a box office blockbuster but she’s going for hers and I wish her all the best. LC is really one of the good kids … here’s hoping she keeps her head on straight.

Lauren LC Conrad — acclaimed reality TV star, fashion designer and author — is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Shape magazine for the second time in her esteemed career as a “somebody”. You may recall that LC graced the cover of Shape back in January of 2008 but I suppose it was time that they put her back on the cover … cuz, clearly the mag has run out of folks to feature. Here is our first look at LC’s latest coverphoto for Shape along with a short preview of her coverstory interview:

She might be a bona fide California beach girl, but even Lauren Conrad admits to slacking in the exercise department sometimes. For her second Shape cover (her first was January 2008), the New York Times best-selling author chats about her romance with actor Kyle Howard and her new clothing line for Kohl’s while sitting pretty for three very different cover shots. At the beginning of her relationship, Lauren admits to getting soft around the middle. “I call it the ‘boyfriend layer’,” she tells the magazine. “We were having more romantic dinners out, and I was exercising less.” So what’s a girl to do? Take your dates to the gym, of course! “I just ask Kyle, ‘You feel like working out?’ It’s more fun than hitting the gym alone,” says Lauren. The couple spends most of their time outdoors anyway. “We like doing outdoor stuff: tennis, bike riding, kayaking, stand-up surfing, hiking in the canyons around L.A.,” says Lauren. And when the happy couple isn’t exercising together, Lauren is busy working on her newest adventure in design, LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s , which will hit stores in October. Her line of affordable and flattering jeans and blouses will be perfect for every shape. “It’s all about finding silhouettes that highlight the best parts of your figure,” says Lauren. As an added bonus, Lauren took three lucky Shape readers with very different body types shopping and shared some fashion advice with them. It’s about time she started publicly acknowledging her romantic affiliation with actor Kyle Howard. They’ve been an item for a very long time now, way before she quit The Hills, and is only now just talking about him in interviews. You know, it’s amazing that LC has all this time to do all that outdoor stuff she listed, “tennis, bike riding, kayaking, stand-up surfing, hiking in the canyons around L.A.”, and still have time to write books and design all her clothing lines. Methinks Miss LC likes to embellish in her interviews just a wee bit ;) In any event, Team LC fans will wanna look for this issue of Shape when it hits newsstands next week. How much you wanna bet this issue of Shape will sell more than Heidi Montag’s “No Nipples, No Vagina, No Ass” issue of Playboy?

Now, take this bit of info with a grain of salt but Star magazine is reporting that Lauren LC Conrad has accepted actor boyfriend Kyle Howard’s marriage proposal. The mag reports that now that LC is freed up from her responsibilities on The Hills, Howard jumped at the chance to ask for her hand in marriage … which she, reportedly, quickly accepted. Could LC and Kyle really be gettin’ hitched?

Now that Lauren Conrad is off “The Hills,” Star reports, her boyfriend, Kyle Howard, has proposed, and “Lauren barely let him get the words out before she said yes.” Not least because she wanted to get engaged at the very moment that Heidi Montag was vomiting in the Costa Rican jungle.

Aww … while this is a sweet story, I have huge doubts that there is any validity to it at all. LC strikes me as a very level-headed person and the notion that she would get married at this point in her life seems unlikely to me. And, let’s be real here … Star magazine is not really a bastion of reliable news reporting. Even still … I can only imagine what kind of lavish wedding that LC would have if she really were to get hitched. I’m fairly certain it would be the kind of wedding that would blow the Speidi ceremony out of the water. And I’d bet hard cash that LC would not be inviting the Pratts to her nuptials. But … alas … I fear this rumor is merely just that … a rumor. Let’s hold off on the wedding gifts for now.

Celebrities of varying import made their way out to the Wadsworth Theater in LA yesterday for the 20th Annual A Time For Heroes Celebrity Carnival which benefits the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. As you can see, former Hills star Lauren LC Conrad and new Hills star Kristin Cavallari managed to bury the hatchet long enough to make appearances at the charity event … tho, the ladies were not photographed in each other’s close proximity:

Selena Gomez, rockin’ a new shorter ‘do, came to the event without her new friend Taylor Lautner (much to the other female attendees dismay, I’m sure) and Melissa Joan Hart was among the celebrity parents in attendance who brought along their little ones. For 20 years, the A Time For Heroes Celebrity Carnival has helped raise funds for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation which attempts to fund research for children suffering from AIDS. It may not seem like much but this annual event does much to raise much needed funds for this very important charity. Kudos to all the celebs who continue to make time for events like this.

Paris Hilton, newly returned to the US from her travels abroad with latest boyfriend Doug Reinhardt, gave a short interview to US Weekly magazine yesterday and had a few colorful things to say about the MTV reality TV show The Hills. You may recall that Paris’s beau, Doug, made a name for himself by appearing on the show as Lauren LC Conrad’s romantic love interest on The Hills before she dumped him on the show. He hung around for a few eps by trying to befriend Brody Jenner and Frankie Delgado … but off-screen, he set his sights on achieving fame by dating Amanda Bynes. After she dumped him, the next logical course of action was to date Paris Hilton and BAM! the perfect couple was born. But, according to Paris Hilton, she is not a fan of The Hills … primarily because she believes it is “fake and lame”:

Paris Hilton says her beau Doug Reinhardt won’t be appearing on MTV’s The Hills again. “The show is, like, so lame and fake. He doesn’t even want to be a part of it,” Hilton told Usmagazine.com Wednesday at the Fifi Awards in NYC. Lauren Conrad famously dumped Reinhardt on the show. Brody Jenner later accused Reinhardt of going behind Conrad’s back by pursuing Stephanie Pratt. But Hilton told Us the show portrayed Reinhardt “in a way he’s not.” “They make up relationships when they’re not there, and he just thinks it’s lame,” she said. “I’ve never seen the show in my life. I have no idea what it’s about. But he just thought it was cheesy.” Reinhardt’s reality days aren’t entirely over. He will appear on the second season of Paris Hilton’s My New BFF, which debuts June 2 on MTV. “It was great,” she told Us. “He was always on set every single day, giving fun ideas. With him there, he always gave the most amazing ideas. They actually hired him as a producer to be on BFF Dubai [Hilton filmed a version of her American reality show there]. They loved his ideas so much.”

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I cannot even believe some of the things that come out of Hilton’s mouth. She is SOOOOO ridiculous, it’s beyond hilarious. I suppose the logical question would be how can Paris Hilton think The Hills is “fake and lame” if she’s “never seen the show in [her] life”? At least we can take comfort that her reality TV show My New BFF isn’t fake and lame, right? I just pray to the gods above that Paris and Doug will stay together forever … FOREVER! They so deserve one another more than any two people on Earth.

Welp … they finally did it. Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were finally legally wed in a lavish ceremony in Pasdena, CA yesterday afternoon after a couple of mis-starts for the couple (who, as you may recall, attempted to get married previously but never followed thru legally). Taped for the season (series?) finale of The Hills, Speidi said I Do in front of a select group of family and friends at the Westminster Presbyterian Church:

Heidi Montag is officially Mrs. Spencer Pratt. The Hills stars got married in an early evening ceremony at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Calif., on Saturday, PEOPLE has confirmed. Montag, 22, and Pratt, 25, exchanged vows before about 200 guests, including Audrina Patridge, Kristin Cavallari, Brody Jenner and Frankie Delgado. The bride wore jewels from Neil Lane, including a pear-shaped diamond floral necklace with multiple diamond chains layered over it, diamond earrings and diamond hairpins, which she picked out the day before the nuptials. Pratt borrowed a pair of diamond cufflinks from the jeweler for the big day.

Early Saturday, the couple arrived at the church in a white Rolls Royce Phantom. Before the ceremony, an airplane flew overhead and wrote “Spencer loves Heidi” in the sky. Pratt, looking dapper in a black suit, smiled and signed autographs for fans outside the church. Meanwhile, Montag posted multiple updates on Twitter throughout the day. “This is going to be the best day of my life,” she wrote at one point. “Thank you God for Spencer.” She also described her wedding dress as “amazing – like a swan princess.”

After making multiple statements that she would not be attending the wedding, Lauren LC Conrad ended up attending the nuptials after all … opting to make a small cameo (most likely for the cameras) before making a hasty exit before the ceremony was over.
