When last we saw Lance Bass here on the blog he was lookin’ all hawt and stuff in a new photoshoot by photographer Braden Summers but today we get to see him lookin’ all cute and stuff hanging out with his BFF Alanis Morissette. Lance and Alanis were spotted enjoying a night on the town in NYC with a few friends … behold:

I dunno … something about how happy and smiley these two look in this photo really warms the cockles of my heart. I believe the pals have been friends for a while but we don’t ever get to see them hanging out together. They look like a great pair of friends … I hope we get to see more of them together soon.

Celebrity make-up artist Chris Lanston is featuring a photo on his official website of former *NSync boybander Lance Bass in an interesting photograph that showcases him as a sexy-lookin’ fighter. In the pic, a stern Bass is massaging his hand as his sparring partner is crumpled up against the ropes in the far corner … it’s kinda hawt, y’all:

Britney Spears ended the second leg of her North American tour, The Circus starring Britney Spears, at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV last night and by all accounts the entire tour (which took her to Europe earlier this year and will take her to Australia later this year) has been a smashing success. Before Brit Brit took to the state for one last time (here in the US), she loaded up her men (sons – Sean Preson and Jayden James, father – Jamie Spears and rumored paramour and agent – Jason Trawick) and made her way to the Sugar Factory boutique to load up on candy for her kiddies … here are a few pics:

Aww … such a cute family. I’m not sure if I totally believe the rumors that Jason and Britney aren’t together together … but I still contend they make a very nice family when they are all together. It would seem that former boybander Lance Bass has snagged himself a new man or, at the very least, a very protective new friend. Lance and said individual were making their way out of Bijou’s nightclub in London, England this week when they were approached by a photog hoping to snap a few pictures … but it was Lance’s new boy who snapped, trying to open an can of whoop ass on the paparazzo:

Lest you think a man wearing a scarf and a far too-unbuttoned silk lavender shirt would pose no real threat, think again. I’m pretty sure there are muscles underneath all that carefully coiffed fluff. If Lance hadn’t restrained his friend and dragged him away from the fray, well, I shudder to think what might’ve happened. Looks like Lance has got himself a spitfire there … I hate to think what might happen if when Lance decides to dump him.

After yesterday’s ruling by the California Supreme Court to uphold the Prop 8 ban on same-sex marriage, folks began rallying all around the State in an effort to peaceably protest that ruling. Here in West Hollywood, CA last night, celebs gathered with protesters to voice their displeasure with the court’s ruling and to begin building support for a new ballot initiative that will likely make it to the polls next year (2010) to Repeal Prop 8. Here are a few pics of some of the celebs who took to the streets in protest last night and some info about what went down:

After months of legal wrangling, the California Supreme Court announced on Tuesday to uphold a ban on same-sex marriages. Justices voted 6-1 to uphold Proposition 8, the voter-approved ban of gay marriage, dealing a major legal blow to the gay and lesbian community. California residents passed Prop 8 with 52 percent of the vote last November. The court also ruled that the roughly 18,000 marriages that took place before Prop 8 took effect are still valid. “It would be a shocking, strange thing in California law to essentially divorce those couples against their will,” said Jennifer Pizer, a lawyer from Lambda Legal. The crowd that had gathered outside the Supreme Court in San Francisco was mostly made up of gay rights supporters, and there was a huge outcry when the ruling was released at 10 a.m. After the announcement, the crowd began marching through San Francisco streets chanting, “Shame on you.” Crowds converged in West Hollywood Tuesday at 7 p.m. to oppose the state Supreme Court’s ruling. They marched to the intersection of Hollywood Blvd. and Highland Ave., shutting down the intersection. That crowd was estimated to be approximately 5,000 strong. Five states have already legalized gay marriage, and gay marriage supporters had hoped California would be the sixth. The justices said the people do have the right to change their constitution through the ballot box. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger released a statement shortly after the ruling. “While I believe that one day, either the people or courts will recognize gay marriage, as governor of California, I will uphold the decision of the California Supreme Court,” he said. “Regarding the 18,000 marriages that took place prior to Proposition 8′s passage, the court made the right decision in keeping them intact.” The governor encouraged those responding to the decision to do so peacefully and lawfully … In Leimert Park, the ACLU and several faith-based groups held a news conference to respond to the state Supreme Court’s decision. “This is nothing short of apartheid in our own state, that some people were allowed to be married, and others will never have that right,” said Rabbi Denise Eger from Kol Ama Congregation. Local residents Eric Monriquez and Juan Ribera said the announcement was bittersweet for them. While they were happy their marriage would still be recognized by the state, they said they were very disappointed with the ruling. “We’re very sad for other couples,” Ribera said. Gay rights advocates had argued the ballot measure revised the state constitution’s equal protection clause, thus needing the legislature’s approval before it could be put to voters. Six months before Prop 8 passed, the California Supreme Court had ruled in favor of gay marriage, saying that denying gay marriage amounted to state-sanctioned discrimination. Gay rights supporters say the fight is far from over.

Very true, the fight is FAR from over … in fact, it has only just begun. The site RepealProp8.com was launched yesterday in the wake of the court’s ruling that seeks to put the issue back on the ballot for voters to decide again. Because California allows the amendment of the State constitution by a simple voter majority, the issue can go back on the ballot for voters to decide — again. The vote was so close last November that supporters, me included, believe that another vote would be sure to legalize same-sex marriage here in California. There is still a long road ahead but if we’ve learned nothing from the 5 States that have legalized same-sex marriage in this country, we’ve learned that true marriage equality for all will eventually come — even in places you’d least expect. It turns out that it’s not just half-nekkid Brazilian men and lovely ladies who love Lance Bass … apparently so does Dirt Nasty himself Simon Rex — who was spotted all up on Lance‘s biz in West Hollywood, CA over the weekend as the pair filmed some sort of TV pilot together:

Now, I’m not sure what kind of TV series could do these two guys justice but I’m willing to find out. It looks as if Simon was really trying to get under Lance‘s skin, it looks as if he even tried to plant a kiss on Lance in that second pic. Lance doesn’t look too happy about any of this … but they do make a cute couple nonetheless. What kind of show do you think these two guys are cooking up together? Would you watch?

I mean, I get what they are going for with this vid (the funny) but in the end, I think they missed the mark (hence, they all must die?). I must admit that I did laugh out loud when Lance Bass got confused for Lance Armstrong … that was kinda funny. And to be totally honest, there were a few LOL-worthy jokes but I’m afraid the vid is just way too corny overall. What do y’all think … do you dig it?

Last Friday we saw a bunch of photos of Lance Bass on holiday with some male friends at a tropical resort and I guessed that mebbe Lance was more than “just friends” with one of the guys in the photos, Brazilian screenwriter Gustavo Marzolla (the two did look pretty cozy in a couple of the pics). Today, we learn from the blog Oh, Bitch Pleez (great name, btw) that Gustavo has an online profile at the gay hookup site Adam4Adam (site NSFW). Could this be the way that Lance and Gustavo got to know one another?

HMMM … there is an awful lot of information available on Gustavo‘s Adam4Adam profile … I can see one, two or 8″ things on the profile that might’ve caught Lance‘s eye … and the profile pic ain’t too shabby either. In the end, tho, it really doesn’t matter where or how Lance finds the new friends he likes to make. He tends to have pretty amazing taste in male friends and I can’t blame the man for going for the gold any chance he gets. Hopefully we’ll get to see more pics of Lance with Gustavo soon … anytime party pics of Lance Bass come out, you know it’s gonna be a good time.
