Lance Bass Wishes You A ‘Happy Halloween’

Also urges Californians to VOTE NO on Prop 8
Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Current Dancing with the Stars contestant and all around LGBT rights activist Lance Bass has updated his official My Space profile with a few new pics, a couple of which I want to share with all y’all right now. Here is a cute pic of Lance with his DWTS professional dance partner Lacey Schwimmer having a bit of fun at Disney World in Orlando, FL where Halloween Time is in full swing:

Lurve those hats! Lance also uploaded a new pic with some friends holding up a VOTE NO on Proposition 8 yard sign:

Ever the activist, you gotta love it! Tho, you don’t have to love the overuse of guyliner that Lance is plainly guilty of in this second photo. According to this photo’s caption on his My Space profile, the eye make-up “would not wash off” — LOL, yeah right ;)

GLSEN Knows R-E-S-P-E-C-T

The 4th Annual Respect Awards
Saturday, October 11th, 2008

Hilary Duff, Lance Bass, Jennie Garth and others were all on hand at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA last night for the 4th Annual GLSEN Respect Awards hosted by the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network. Darren Star, Disney/ABC Television and Lance Bass were the special honorees at last night’s event for their “commitment to all America’s students, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity/expression”. Here are a few pics from the red carpet last night:

It’s great to see Hilary Duff so proudly supporting this amazing organization. You may recall that earlier this week we got to see her new GLSEN produced PSA that encourages young people to Think Before You Speak in order to curb curb bullying or threatening language aimed at LGBT youth. I am such a huge supporter of the GLSEN organization. They work so tirelessly to bring together straight allies with the LGBT community in order to foster inclusiveness so that, together, they are able to work towards ending bullying and hatespeak aimed at targeted youth. The Respect Awards annually celebrate those folks who work towards that inclusiveness. I am constantly surprised and impressed with the strides that are made in acceptance and inclusiveness among different groups of people in this country. Even tho there are still those who fear and vehemently oppose the equality of all citizens, the country seems to be moving towards inclusion rather than exclusion. It’s a long process and it is slow-going at times but we are getting there. It’s just really exciting, y’all :)

Bad Photoshopping With The Stars

Here come some cheesy-ass 'DWTS' promo pics, ya'll
Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Yahoo! has unleashed a whole slew of new promo pics of the contestants of the 7th season of Dancing with the Stars … I’m not sure who exactly is responsible for this cheesy nonsense (ABC? Yahoo? Satan?) but the pics are so RIDIC I can’t hardly stand it:

Even tho these pics are sooooo bad (seriously, so bad!) I’m glad to see that both Cloris Leachman and Toni Braxton are bringin’ the fierceness. I dunno how the hell Lance Bass got talked into wearing his outfit — I thought for sure his days of being bullied into wearing horrible outfits to entertain the public were over … guess not. And can I just say that Ted McGinley who has been a TV hottie since the early 70’s still looks pretty damn good. Geeze, that man must have a deal with the devil … how is it that he can still look hawt after ALL THESE YEARS. Pact with the devil, I’m convinced. I’m not a big fan of this show but they managed to cull together a pretty interesting cast this season. I’m not sure who’s gonna pull out the win in the end … but I do know that Susan Lucci won’t be going home with the trophy (I’m sure it was an honor just being nominated … er, asked to be on the show). I might have to actually watch this season … despite these horribly bad promo pics.
