Earlier this week we learned which celebs have been cast for the upcoming 12th season of Dancing with the Stars and today we get to see the official promo photos of all of the celebrity contestants each paired up with their professional dance partners. Altho I’m not a big fan of the show (for reasons too numerous to get into but particularly because the best contestants don’t usually win), I can’t help but want to root for Wendy Williams (on the women’s side) and Ralph Macchio (on the men’s side). Read on to see all of the promo photos.

Earlier this week we learned which “stars” had been signed on to compete in the upcoming 11th season of Dancing with the Stars and today we get to see some of those stars all paired up with their professional dancing partners in new promo photos released by ABC:

The new “Dancing with the Stars” pairs put on their best poses in the dancing costumes for the promotional photos of season 11. Bristol Palin had said before that she would wear the most conservative costume in the show’s history but the final result proved otherwise. “We did our title shoot today so I got all glammed up and stuff, but I’m definitely excited to wear all those,” the 19-year-old who is paired with Mark Ballas said in an interview with Us Magazine. “I know that mine will be the most conservative and I will be the most dressed. That’s because that’s how I am and that’s how I want to dress. But it’ll be good, all the rhinestones and spray tans, that will be fun.” Comparably, her black dress in the promo is decent looking from the front view, but it has this hidden thigh-high slit as well as wide open back. Still, the title of the sexiest-looking female contestant is held by Audrina Patridge who wears a red two-piece with glitter details. Not seen in the pictures are Karina Smirnoff and The Situation who can only match their schedules one week before the show starts. Smirnoff who admitted that she is nervous about the limited time said they would have around five days to practice before the premiere on September 20.

As I proclaimed before, my support lies with the fabulous Margaret Cho … but I also got mad love for Jennifer Grey (whom I just re-fell in love with in her ’84 film Red Dawn), Florence Henderson (who doesn’t love Carol Brady?) and Rick Fox (merely because he is Eliza Dushku‘s man). Last night, the voting public and judges of the the ABC show Dancing with the Stars decided to name Donny Osmond as the new Dancing with the Stars champion … much to my complete horror and chagrin. Now granted I didn’t watch one second of the competition this season so I’m prolly not in the best position to speak so forcefully but I cannot, for the life of me, imagine that Donny Osmond gave a more successful performance over the amazing Mya (who was also in competition on DWTS this season) … but alas, ’tis so … Osmond ended up winning the championship in the end:

Donny Osmond was declared the new champion of “Dancing With Stars” on Tuesday night, taking home the show’s mirror ball trophy in the season finale of the ABC contest reality program. Osmond, the former teen pop star of the singing Osmond family, said the show has been a highlight in a career of ups and downs. “I did it!” Osmond exclaimed. He promptly rushed to the audience and plucked out his wife, Debbie, whom he carried across the stage. Helping push Osmond over the top was the tango he performed Tuesday with his professional dancing partner, Kym Johnson. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba hailed it as “artistry in motion.” It earned the top score of the final performances. Three celebrities made it to the finale of the show’s ninth season — Osmond, Mya and Kelly Osbourne, the daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. The show picks a winner with a combination of judges’ scores and viewer votes. Mya entered as the favorite, having won the highest scores on Monday’s show. Dancing with Dmitry Chaplin, she performed a jive. “I’m just so happy to have made it to the finals,” Mya said after the loss. The 30-year-old singer is most famous for collaborating on the Grammy-winning hit “Lady Marmalade” from the soundtrack of 2001′s “Moulin Rouge!” Osbourne was the first of the three eliminated. With her famous family — Ozzy, Sharon and Jack — looking on, Osbourne and professional partner Louis Van Amstel danced to a cover of Ray LaMontagne’s “Trouble.” The 25-year-old was clearly moved and began crying after her last dance. She thanked the audience and said she had “grown so much” during the show. Co-host Samantha Harris said Osbourne had become “a swan.” The finale culminated a season of good ratings for “Dancing With the Stars,” which consistently ranked as one of the most-watched shows of the fall.

HMMM … isn’t that interesting … Mya, who I understand performed consistently and almost perfectly thruout the entire competition, scored the highest score on Monday night for the last judged performance and she still lost to Donny Osmond — who, I might add, was on Entertainment Tonight (an entertainment “news” program) on a semi-nightly basis whipping up support from viewers. I suspect Osmond, who is a staunch Mormon, prolly received a lot of support from the more conservative voters as well. To be honest, I’m not at all surprised … the show is a joke. After Melanie Brown lost on the show when she should’ve won and after Lance Bass also lost when he should’ve won, I no longer have any confidence in this crappy show as an actual determiner of dancing skill. Another thrilling season of Dancing with the Stars is nearly upon us and just weeks after the list of celebrity contestants who have signed on to compete for the Dancing with the Stars Championship title we get our first look at the promo photos of all of the contestants paired up with their professional partners. As I’ve mentioned in seasons past, I am not a fan of the show … but I do tend to have a favorite or two that I tend to root for on the sidelines. This time around, I’m throwing all my support around the fabulous Lil’ Kim:
