Kylie promises to tour the US again as well!!
Kylie Minogue Announces The ‘Les Folies Tour 2011’

Kylie Minogue, who just performed here in the US on America’s Got Talent this past Wednesday night, will be hittin’ the road next year with a new tour she is calling Les Folies Tour 2011. Promo poster artwork for the tour has been popping up in Germany announcing the tour, here is our first look at some of the artwork:

Kylie fans here in the US have much to be excited about … because Kylie has promised that she will tour the US once again next year! Kylie gave a quick interview to Access Hollywood backstage on America’s Got Talent last week and spilled that she is planning to bring her tour back here to the US in 2011:

Listen up, Kylie Minogue fans! The Aussie pop diva will return to the U.S. to tour in 2011, she tells Access Hollywood exclusively. “I’m coming back,” Kylie told Access on Wednesday, at a rehearsal for her “America’s Got Talent” performance. “Next year, 2011.” Kylie, who toured the U.S. for the first time ever in her over-20-year career in Fall 2009, said American fans are “unbelievable.” “Touring here was one of the best decisions,” she said. “There was so much love in the room – the fans were amazing.”

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! This is such exciting news!! I had an absolute BLAST seeing Kylie Minogue in concert here in the US last year … I am beyond thrilled that she is not only planning to tour again but that she is planning to bring that tour here to the US as well. It has been such a treat to be able to see Kylie on tour internationally but I’m even more excited that she is bringing her tour back here to the US, making it so much easier to see her multiple times on tour. 2011 is going to be a fantastic year for concerts, I can feel it. Now that we know that Kylie will be hittin’ the road here in North America again we can ready ourselves for the fun times ahead. The only problem is … how many shows will I need to see?

The TV Guide
Kylie Minogue’s Got Talent

Yesterday afternoon I got to be the guest of my good friend Tony at the LIVE taping of America’s Got Talent. Despite the fact that neither of us watch the show, we were very excited for the taping because Kylie Minogue was in the hiz to perform the US premiere of her new single Get Outta My Way. As with all TV tapings, our cellphones had to be checked in upon arrival so I wasn’t able to take any photos personally … thankfully, Kylie posted an amazing photo herself on her official Twitter profile:

#getouttamyway !!!!! / I had so much fun tonight at #AGT..thanks to you all….also, BIG UP for Tony Testa’s amazing choreography :) / Big thanks to David Koma for the amazing dress I wore this evening on #AGT xx :)

Despite all the waiting (4 hours!!!), Tony and I had a blast yesterday afternoon. It was such a thrill to be so close to Kylie in person. Tony managed to get us front row seats, which made all the hassles totally worthwhile.

After the jump, check out video of Kylie‘s performance of Get Outta My Way on America’s Got Talent last night …

“That whole [US] tour last fall was from the heart."
Kylie Minogue Does ‘Out’ Magazine

Kylie Minogue, who just scored her 5th #1 album in the UK making her the first artist to have a #1 album in the 80s, the 90s, the 00s and the 10s, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Out magazine. Kylie reveals how much of a labor of love her North American tour last Fall was for her, especially since she lost a fortune of her own money just to tour here. Here is Kylie‘s stunning Out magazine cover and some excerpts from her coverstory interview:

Pop princess Kylie Minogue first broke onto the American scene in 1988 covering the 1962 Little Eva hit “The Loco-Motion.” But only a year later it seemed the Australian-born newcomer would go down in American pop history as a one-hit wonder. Undaunted by her lack of traction in the U.S., Minogue pressed on, creating an ever-expanding empire overseas. Nearly 15 years later, she broke through to the Billboard Top 10 with the international smash hit “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” and Minogue has been going nonstop ever since. While Minogue forewent a U.S. tour for the first 20 years of her career, she appeased her many American fans when she brought her For You, For Me tour to six North American cities last fall. “I wasn’t here to prove anything or sell anything, and that was absolutely liberating,” Minogue explains. “That whole tour last fall was from the heart. I might as well have just burned hundred-dollar bills because it cost me a fortune, but I didn’t care. I thought, I have to do this now or I’ll regret it.” Why now? Minogue recognized the enormous impact Lady Gaga’s meteoric rise to fame had on the music industry. Lady Gaga’s mega-success opened up an opportunity for Minogue to win over America, and she is seizing that opportunity by going back to her roots. “Lady Gaga dropped a meteor in the middle of the pop landscape — which is amazing,” Minogue says. “But it meant that we had to take that into account. It wouldn’t have made any sense to go down that road to try to fit in.” Instead, she fills her new album, Aphrodite, with lighthearted pure pop songs that would have sounded right at home on her debut. An icon for the gay community, who make up the bulk of the singer’s U.S. fan base, Minogue has never felt the need to pander to her gay fans, nor shock and titillate her straight ones, by flirting with bisexuality, as many of her contemporaries have done. She rebuts the claim a Mexican magazine published earlier this year saying Minogue liked women, telling Out, “I didn’t speak with a Mexican magazine. They took a bunch of random quotes —some of which sounded familiar and some they’d taken from somewhere that has nothing to do with me. So far my sexuality has been with men, but I stand by the video for ‘All the Lovers’ — if it’s love, it’s good.”

I had heard that Kylie lost money funding her North American tour but the fact that she did so happily only endears her all the more to me and I’m sure a great many other fans. I can honestly say that I have been a Kylie Minogue fan since 1988. I remember riding my bike to the neighborhood Woolworth’s and buying her debut album on cassette tape (in one of those heinous and large plastic anti-theft cases) and taking it home and falling in love. I played that album to death on my boombox … and I spent the next 22 years searching out all of her albums. I used to have to drive 40 miles to a Harmony House record store in Berkley, MI to buy her albums from the import bin … and just last week, my Japanese version of Aphrodite arrived from HMV Japan. It was a thrill getting to see Kylie live in concert for the first time ever at the O2 Arena in London a couple of years ago … but it was even more thrilling to see her up-close and personal at the 4 US shows of her For You, For Me North American Tour last Fall. Kylie Minogue is an icon … I love her entirely! After the jump, you MUST check out her beautiful Out magazine photos — they are stunning, just like she is …

Also becomes a part-time weather girl

KM gets gritty for 'Jack and Diane'
Kylie Minogue Films A New Movie In NYC

Kylie Minogue, who is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Attitude magazine, has made her way back to NYC, NY to film a new movie there titled Jack and Diane. Kylie was spotted on the movie set in full costume which includes fake tattoos … clearly, she will be playing a gritty character. Here are a few photos of Kylie on set along with a synopsis of the film from IMDB:

Jack and Diane, two teenage girls, meet in New York City and spend the night kissing ferociously. Diane’s charming innocence quickly begins to open Jack’s tough skinned heart. But, when Jack discovers that Diane is leaving the country in a week she tries to push her away. Diane must struggle to keep their love alive while hiding the secret that her newly awakened sexual desire is giving her werewolf-like visions.

Um … what? I mean, I love Kylie so much … more than most people on Earth but I am not a huge fan of her movie roles. Ever since I saw her in Bio-Dome with Pauly Shore and the idiot Baldwin, I don’t get too excited for her new film projects. This one sounds … interesting. I wouldn’t mind seeing more photos of her in costume on set but I’m not sure what to think about this film based on the synopsis. What do y’all think … does this movie look/sound like a winner?

The CAMP Issue
Kylie Minogue Does ‘Attitude’ Magazine

Kylie Minogue, whose new album Aphrodite will be released here in the US next week, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the UK magazine Attitude. This new issue is the mag’s Camp Issue so obviously they had to put the queen of camp Kylie Minogue on the cover. In her coverstory interview, Kylie reveals some of the regrets she has about her last album X:

KYLIE MINOGUE regrets not pushing record company bosses to allow songs about her cancer battle on her last album, X – because she poured her heart and soul into the emotional tracks. The Aussie superstar was diagnosed with cancer in 2005 and underwent intensive chemotherapy treatment, which caused her to lose her hair. As soon as it grew back, Minogue headed into the studio and spent “insane, emotional” sessions recording with producer pal Biff Stannard. But label bosses rejected the personal tracks for inclusion on her 2007 album X – and Minogue admits she’ll always regret not convincing them to change their minds. She tells Britain’s Attitude magazine, “As soon as I could get back in the studio, I went with hair not a centimetre long, I ran in there with Biff and we did five days of insane, emotional… the two of us will never forget it. I’d written songs about my experience, my illness, and they didn’t make the album, I even don’t know why. If they just weren’t good enough songs, or the record company didn’t think they were appropriate, I don’t know. So there’s a little regret about that.”

Personally, I love X … there are so many great, upbeat tracks on that album … I have no complaints. But, I can absolutely see where Kylie is coming from. I’m sure writing about her cancer battle was very cathartic. It’s a shame that none of that music made it on the album. I’m certain her record label was adamant about her not releasing a “cancer album” but still … after all of Kylie‘s successes, they could’ve let her make the album she truly wanted to make. She is such a survivor … and she’s always got a smile on her face. I just love her … and I can’t wait to see the photos from this Attitude photospread.

"A lucky, lucky concert-goer"
Kylie Minogue Joins Scissor Sisters On Stage At The Glastonbury Festival

Kylie Minogue joined her BFFs (and musical collaborators) the Scissor Sisters on stage yesterday on Day 3 of the Glastonbury Festival taking place this weekend on Worthy Farm in Glastonbury, England. Sisters singer Ana Matronic explained to the crowd that a “lucky, lucky concert-goer” was chosen to join the band on stage to sing one song with them … it turns out that that “lucky concert-goer” was none other than Kylie Minogue herself who dueted with the band on their song Any Which Way:

Kylie Minogue beamed as she took to the stage tonight for her Glastonbury debut. The 42-year-old singer wore a sexy see-through leotard and thigh high boots with disco ball-type mirrored detailing as she performed during the Scissor Sisters set. She performed Any Which Way at Glastonbury with the Scissor Sisters’ frontman Jake Shears, who co-wrote her new album Aphrodite, from which her new single All The Lovers is taken. It was a Glastonbury first for Kylie, who pulled out of the festival in 2005 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. And the broad smile on her face throughout her performance showed she couldn’t have been happier to have finally made it to the world-famous music festival. Speaking before her performance, Kylie said she couldn’t wait to get back to performing live, explaining: ‘It’s how I connect with people, that’s what I really wanted to do, get back on stage.’ The Scissor Sisters set was watched by thousands of people, including celebrity fan Kate Hudson, who is at the festival to support new boyfriend Matt Bellamy when he headlines the second night with his band Muse.

Sidebar: I had no idea that Kate Hudson had hooked up with the Muse dude, wasn’t she just with Alex Rodriguez from the NY Yankees? I can’t even keep up with that girl and her many men … but I digress. I absolutely LOVE that Kylie joined the Scissor Sisters on stage for their Glastonbury performance yesterday … what a fun treat for the fans in the audience. Kylie shared on her official Twitter account that she was outfitted with a stage access pink wristband but I assumed she would just be hanging out with the band on stage … not actually performing. Ugh, her idea was much cooler than mine. After the jump, check out video of Kylie‘s surprise performance with the Scissor Sisters
