Kristin Davis & Cynthia Nixon Get In On The 80’s Fun On The Set Of ‘Sex And The City 2’

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

First we saw Sarah Jessica Parker’s Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw rockin’ an outdated 80’s look and then we saw Kim Cattrall’s SaTC character Samantha Jones rockin’ an 80’s look and today we get to see that Kristin Davis as Charlotte Yorke and Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes also got in on the fun. Here are a few amazingly fun photos of SJP doing her best Madonna and Kristin lookin’ about as preppy as you’d imagine of her Charlotte character:

OMG … I love these photos. I think pretty much everyone is in agreement that these scenes will be used in the film as flashback scenes, despite the fact that none of the ladies (who I love) look that much younger despite the outdated outfits they are wearing. Nonetheless, these 80’s flashback scenes look like they are going to be a hoot. If you think these photos of Carrie and Charlotte are fun, wait ’til you see what Miranda looked like in the 80’s — after the jump, find out …

Kristin Davis Surfaces On The Set Of ‘Sex And The City 2’

At last! Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte are together again!!
Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Last week we saw many photos of Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw) on the NYC set of the upcoming sequel film Sex and the City 2 and she was joined by Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and then Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones). Kristin Davis was curiously absent from the first few days of filming SaTC 2 but she finally showed up on set earlier TODAY to film her first scenes with the girls … here are pics of the ladies filming a group hug/hello:

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! At last, all four Sex and the City ladies are together again for the sequel film. It is really fantastic seeing them all together again … they look great!! But, as usual, Cattrall’s Samantha Jones character has to steal the spotlight. After the jump, check out a few photos of Kim Cattrall filming a funny scene for the movie …

Cynthia Nixon & Christine Marinoni Are Gettin’ Hitched!

After 5 years together, the couple decide to tie the knot
Monday, May 18th, 2009

Happy news to share today … Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon announced yesterday, at the Love, Peace and Marriage Equality Rally in NYC (which brought out folks like Kristin Davis, Cheyenne Jackson, David Hyde Pierce, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and more), that she and longtime girlfriend Christine Marinoni have gotten engaged and are ready to finally say I Do! The couple, who have been together since 2003, share custody of a daughter and a son and are now ready to take their relationship to the next level. At yesterday’s rally, Cynthia announced that she and Christine got engaged last month … they’re gettin’ hitched, y’all:

While rallying for gay rights in New York this weekend, Cynthia Nixon announced her engagement to girlfriend Christine Marinoni, the Sex and the City star’s rep confirms to E! News. The couple has been together since late 2003, shortly after Nixon split from her longtime companion Danny Mozes. The exes share custody of their two children, Samantha, 14, and Charles, 7. Nixon shared the news with audiences during the Love, Peace and Marriage Equality rally in New York City.

The actress and Marinoni became engaged last month and are currently working to support the new gay-rights bill proposed by New York Gov. David Paterson. The goal is to achieve equality for same-sex unions. Access Hollywood first reported the engagement. Nixon and the rest of the Sex and the City gang are set to start filming the movie’s sequel this summer.

This is very happy news. I’m thrilled for Cynthia and Christine. The couple have been together for so long and have previously announced that they didn’t want to get “pretend married”. Now that there are 5 States in the US that have legalized same-sex marriage, with New Hampshire on the verge and NY working towards the same, I guess the time was finally right for the couple to start making plans for their nuptials. Much love and congrats to their entire family! I can’t wait until they’re finally able to get ‘er done.

Don’t Flip Your Lids, Save Them

The 10th Annual 'Save Lids To Save Lives' Event
Saturday, October 11th, 2008

Sheryl Crow was the musical performer at Yoplait’s 10th Annual Save Lids To Save Lives event at the Wiltern Theater here in LA last night and was joined by various celebs, including David Arquette and the Sex and the City ladies Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. Here are a few pics from the event’s red carpet last night:

For the past decade, Yoplait has urged its customers to save the pink lids found on their yogurt bottles and send them back into the company who, in turn, converts those lids into a financial donation to breast cancer research. For each lid that they receive between September 1 and December 1, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure through their Save Lids to Save Lives program. This is an amazing campaign that really shows that the company puts forth a great effort to encourage people to donate to breast cancer research. Last night’s event was a celebration of this campaign and hopefully inspires more people to save those lids and to send them in. You can click HERE for more information on the program.

Do Not Bother Kristin Davis While She Is Shopping

I'm talking to you, Boy Scouts of America
Monday, October 6th, 2008

Sex and the City star Kristin Davis was approached by a entrepreneurial member of the Boy Scouts of America, who was trying to sell her some popcorn to help him raise money for his organization, as she left a grocery store in Brentwood, CA. Despite the lad’s rosy cheeked disposition and polite sales pitch, Kristin decided to take a pass and the young scout was left brutally rebuffed:

It would be terribly unfair (altho, really kinda funny) to imply that Kirstin Davis is a heartless, cold-hearted ice queen for denying this innocent young boy so let’s just assume that she either A.) is not a popcorn fan, B.) was in a hurry and couldn’t tarry or C.) has a strict policy against funding the Boy Scouts when all of her extra money goes to the Girl Scouts and their delicious cookies. Let this be a lesson to folks lookin’ to raise funds for non-profit organizations … cookies equal $$$, popcorn equals :(

Kristin Davis Visits Jerusalem

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Sex and the City star Kristin Davis has made her way to the Holy Land this week to do some promo work for Ahava skin care products, which she is the spokesmodel for. Here are a couple pics of Kristin upon arrival in Jerusalem this week and a few more pics of KD making her way about town:

In “Sex and the City,” her character converts out of love for her Jewish husband. But in her first visit to the Jewish State, Kristin Davis refused to say if that was a case of art imitating life. The 43-year-old actress toured Jerusalem’s Old City on Tuesday as part of her campaign to promote Israel’s Ahava skin products. At a news conference, she praised Israeli women for their natural quality, love of fashion and for “being comfortable in their own skins.” Davis said she was not nearly as naive or conservative as her fictional character. Still, there was no “Sex and the Old City” talk — despite some creative questions from reporters. Davis played Charlotte York on the popular HBO series “Sex and the City,” which was recently expanded into a hit movie. Her character is a prim Park Avenue socialite turned Jewish wife. Davis, who is single, said she learned about the religion on the set, but when asked if she liked Jewish men in real life, she refused to discuss her romances. She also declined to discuss Israeli politics or the Mideast conflict, but when asked whom she endorsed for U.S. President she flashed a big smile and emphatically said “Obama!” “He is fantastic, and it’s a very exciting time in America,” she said. She said she and her fellow “Sex and the City” actors Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon “love Hillary”, but now that Clinton was out of the picture would put their star power behind Obama. “We are Democrats,” she said. Ahava CEO Yaacov Ellis said Davis perfectly represented the company’s core values of “beauty, nature and life.” The company’s products are based on the beneficial qualities of the Dead Sea.

AWWWW, I love it … it kinda feels like Charlotte York is the one who journeyed to Jerusalem to shill for Ahava skin care … cuz, you know, I have a hard time separating reality from fiction. In any event, she looks great in these pics and I’m happy that she is enjoying the spotlight all on her own, without any of her co-stars horning in on the lurve (SJP, I’m talkin’ to you). It’s just a shame that she had to journey to the other side of the planet to stand apart on her own.

Back In The Game

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

At last, the LA Lakers have gotten back into the game … after losing the first two games of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, the LA Lakers finally came back and won game three on their home turf at the Staples Center here in downtown LA last night. Here are a few pics of some of the many celebs who came out in support of their LA Lakers (with Donnie Walberg rooting for the Celitcs) and cheered them on to victory:

In front of a constellation of Hollywood stars, the desperate Los Angeles Lakers nearly faded into oblivion Tuesday night in Game 3 of the NBA Finals before they rallied to subdue the Boston Celtics for an 87-81 victory. Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic’s dead-eye shooting — he shot 70% from the floor, including three three-pointers — helped seal the win with a career postseason-high 20 points. Backcourt teammate Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 36 points, including a twisting floater with 38 seconds remaining … Los Angeles avoided the near-impossible roadblock of needing four consecutive triumphs. No NBA team has overcome a 3-0 lead in any playoff series (0-for-85). The Lakers, 9-0 at the Staples Center this postseason, trail the Celtics 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. Game 4 is Thursday night. “Kobe was fantastic,” said coach Doc Rivers, whose Celtics are 2-8 on the road in the playoffs. “But I thought Vujacic was the key to the game.”

Now, anyone who knows me or even casually reads my blog knows that I’m a big sports person. But I do tend to perk up around Championship games, particularly when my home teams are involved. I watched a bit of the Eastern Conference Finals only to watch my beloved Detroit Pistons fall to the Boston Celtics. Now that Detroit is out of the game, I have to throw my support behind the LA Lakers since they are my adopted hometown. I’m relieved that the Lakers finally woke up and won a game … it would’ve been pretty dire had they lost last night’s game against the boys from Boston.

To be fair, another major reason that I tend to pay attention to sports is the celebrity involvement (natch) and when it comes to sports celebrities, well, I don’t usually miss an appearance by David Beckham. Here are a few pics of Becks with his eldest son Brooklyn at last night’s game:

I don’t believe that Becks spent any of last night’s game ogling the Laker Girls cheerleaders (or at the very least, he wasn’t caught ogling any of the cheerleaders) … he was just there to support his adopted home team in their quest for the NBA Championship. Oh, he was also there to tout his sexy hawtness, too.

I understand that the Lakers are undefeated at home … which implies that they will tie up the series with a win at home on Thursday. It’d be awesome (for me at least) to have the Detroit Red Wings win the NHL Championship and the LA Lakers win the NBA Championship all in the same year … c’mon Lakers, do it for me :)
