Congrats!
Kristin Cavallari & Jay Cutler Are Gettin’ Hitched!

Congratulations are in order for Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills alum Kristin Cavallari and NFL player Jay Cutler because according to a new report from People magazine, the couple have gotten themselves engaged to be married! My girl Kirstin has come a long way from her days with Stephen Coletti on Laguna Beach (and then her long relationship with Brody Jenner, who is know with Avril Lavigne) … apparently, she has finally found her Prince Charming in Jay!

‘Burlesque’ Premieres In Hollywood

The legendary Cher and her young co-star Christina Aguilera were among the folks who came out to Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA last night for the LA premiere of their new film Burlesque. Earlier today we learned that Xtina was on hand to receive her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday afternoon but after a quick outfit change she was back on Hollywood Blvd. for her big premiere. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals at last night’s premiere of Burlesque:

For the most part, the reviews that I’ve been hearing about Burlesque have been mostly positive … still, I’m not sure I’m convinced. None of the trailers that I have seen of the film have impressed me at all and I have to wonder how this girl from a small town moves to the big city and hits it big story will stand apart from the countless other movies that tell the same story. Still, I have faith in Cher‘s amazing abilities as an actress so … I might give the movie a shot. Burlesque opens on November 24 … do you think YOU will be there to see it on opening day?

It Gets Better

In the wake of so many suicides by GLBT youth due to bullying in recent weeks a bunch of celebrities have banded together or filmed videos on their own to spread the message of hope to the young people who fell hopeless. Much like Dave Navarro did on his official website last week, all kinds of celebs have decided to speak out in order to spread hope. A flurry of It Gets Better videos have been popping up recently in an effort to spread the message as far and wide as possible. Here is a video which features Anne Hathaway, Kristin Cavallari, Jenny McCarthy, Shay Mitchell, Ashley Roberts, Candice Accola, Ian Somerhalder, Candis Cayne, Erika Jayne, Greg Grunberg, Rex Lee, Julie Benz, Michael Chiklis and Kat Graham:

My good friend Pauley Perrette, who stars on NCIS, decided to film and release a video of her own:

As did Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden:

This message that life gets better is so important because it is so easy for young people who feel hopeless and alone to think that no one understands what they are going thru as they figure out who they are … even worse, many believe that they are unloved, unwanted and will not be missed if they decide to take their own lives. It is my sincere hope that these messages of hope can reach the people who need to hear them the most. The Trevor Project was set up so that young people in need of support can call at any time of the day or night to find the help that they need. Information on The Trevor Project can be found on their official website HERE or they can be reached by calling 1-866-4UTREVOR (866-488-7386). It truly may seem hopeless sometimes … but things do get better.

Pink reader Sarah points us HERE to see the rest of the It Gets Better PSA videos. Check ‘em out, post ‘em on Facebook … help spread the message.

After 4 years and 6 seasons, the show comes to a close
‘The Hills’ Is Dunzo . . . For ‘Real’!

Well … that’s it, the end, fini, over … dunzo! The Hills, the reality TV series that was spun off of the original MTV series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, came to an end last night as the series finale episode aired on MTV. For the past 4 years, The Hills has provided some of the most significant pop culture moments of celebrity/reality TV hybrid programming and provided us with hours of extremely addictive if primarily vapid entertainment. Whether you love the show, hate the show, love to hate the show or whatever … you cannot deny the impact of The Hills. I’ve been with these characters since Laguna Beach debuted back in 2004 and despite some waning excitement over the years, I’ve watched every single episode and for the most part loved the series overall. Here are some photos from last night’s red carpet arrivals at the The Hills Live: A Hollywood Ending afterparty which was held at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, CA:

“The Hills,” the landmark reality soap that cemented Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag and their pals as tabloid superstarlets, died Tuesday at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. It was 4. The popular series’ cause of death wasn’t provided, but MTV president of programming Tony DiSanto previously called it “an organic culmination of this saga.” “I’m oddly devastated that it’s come to an end,” said Ben “B-Side” Mandelker, who blogs about “The Hills” and its New York-set offspring “The City” on bsideblog.com. “My five-year goal was to appear as a sidekick on the show, ideally with a subtitle that defines me solely as the friend of someone else. Sadly, that dream never came to fruition.” After 102 installments, “The Hills” faded into the sunset Tuesday with a goodbye gala attended by the show’s cast and a wink, wink twist ending in the final episode that had friends-with-benefits Kristin Cavallari and Brody Jenner seemingly saying goodbye in front of the Hollywood sign, then appearing in front of a backdrop on the Paramount Studios’ lot. “With ‘The Hills’ off the air, I no longer have to field questions about the show’s authenticity,” said Mandelker. “I can think of about 10 different things I’d rather do than engage in yet another dumb argument about whether or not ‘The Hills’ is staged. I just tell people it’s like professional wrestling: Don’t take it so seriously, and enjoy the ride.” The club-hopping, music-pumping, cat-fighting, mascara-dripping, mouth-dropping, crystal-worshipping drama of “The Hills” debuted in 2006 as a spin-off of MTV’s popular high school reality docudrama “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.” The series originally documented the journey of bubbly “Laguna Beach” graduate Conrad to Los Angeles. As the show progressed, “The Hills” morphed from a coming-of-age story centering on the budding fashion designer to a splashy soap focusing on a bevy of beautiful people. Andy Dehnart, who has blogged about reality TV for more than 10 years at realityblurred.com, said the series’ lush cinematography and phony authenticity left a lasting impression on the medium. “The legacy of ‘The Hills’ is that it improved the visual language of reality TV while proving that a series could be sustained in an M.C. Escher-like circle where tabloid coverage of the cast members sustained interest in a narrative that largely ignored their real lives, including the intense media coverage that generated interest in the show,” said Dehnart … Throughout its tumultuous six seasons, tabloids and blogs were enamored with the show’s never-ending series of breakups, make-ups and fall-outs, most notably the epic divide between best friends Montag and Conrad, who left “The Hills” in the middle of the fifth season and was replaced by her sassy, raspy “Laguna Beach” adversary Cavallari. The transition from Conrad to Cavallari as the series’ narrator and Montag’s marriage to bad boy Spencer Pratt — the real wedding, not the phony Mexican one — marked the beginning of the end of “The Hills.” Villainous couple Pratt and Montag, who underwent 10 plastic surgery procedures earlier this year, were later phased out of the final season.

It’s amazing to me that a show like The Hills managed to not only define its own section of pop culture but it also managed to create its own mythology that actually took on a life of its own. Despite the fact that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt annoyed the hell out of me for the duration of their time on the show, I was a bit sad that the villainous Speidi were not included at all in last night’s finale. They had a huge hand in how the show turned out (for better or worse) and that could’ve been mentioned at the very least. THO, Spencer Pratt did manage to crash the afterparty last night … he showed up lookin’ crazy and deranged, which is exactly what you would expect from a guy like Spencer Pratt. After the jump, check out a few more photos including a cute cast photo from the party and some disturbing photos of Spencer

The 'Dirrty' girl is planning to write a book
Kristin Cavallari Does ‘Dirrty Glam’ Magazine

Kristin Cavallari, star of MTV‘s The Hills, is featured in the new issue of Dirrty Glam magazine lookin’ about as hawt as I’ve ever seen her look before. Here is our first look at photos from her latest magazine spread:

Throwing her head back in apparent ecstasy, it looks like Kristin Cavallari hasn’t a care in the world. The Hills star showed off her impressive figure in a shoot by photographer Elias Tahan for French fashion magazine Dirrty. But while she obviously enjoys her fame, Kristin is apparently tiring of her role on the fake reality TV show, rebelling against being asked to create ever more dramatic scenes. Recently she refused to follow directors orders to kiss a gay man at a bar, in order to provoke a fight with boyfriend Brody Jenner. ‘She totally lost it,’ a source told U.S. magazine Life & Style. ‘She screamed that she’s sick of being made to look like an idiot.’ The 23-year-old is already planning for life after she leaves the show, after making her first TV appearances in the original Laguna Beach when she was a junior in high school. She wants to out the people behind the show for trying to create fake drama for the cast. Internet rumours claim The Hill’s executives have been plying the cast with alcohol, paying them to spread gossip about each other and even encouraging them to make sex tapes to leak to the press. ‘Some producers are definitely manipulative and dishonest,’ cast member Alex Jervy Smith told Intouch magazine. And despite making a living from the show, Kristin plans to expose all the dirty secrets once the final episode has aired. ‘After The Hills I plan to work on many business opportunities,’ she said. ‘I have always wanted to write a tell all book.’ She will be following in the footsteps of her ex co-star Lauren Conrad who wrote LA Candy shortly after she quit. The novel is loosely based on her own life and hit the New York best-sellers list shortly after it was released.

You know what, Kristin rules! I’ve been a fan of hers for years, I’m still a big fan. The only reason I watch The Hills anymore is because she is the lead protagonist (and, well, because Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are no longer featured on the show). I love her … and I love this Dirrty Glam photospread. Check out a few more pics from this issue after the jump …

But you'll have to wait to June 17 to find out who won

The “NewNowNext Awards 2010″ rocked hot spot the Edison in downtown Los Angeles last night. Cheyenne Jackson kicked off the evening with a jazzy crooner parodying award show openings as co-host Nash crashed the stage declaring, “Take it all in, bitches!” In-house DJ Jesus Luz kept the audience moving to the beats of tomorrow as RuPaul, the world’s most famous drag queen and host of the hit series “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” announced the evening’s first award: the “OMFG Internet Award,” honoring what’s sure to be the next, online viral hit. The evening’s momentum continued as actress Aisha Tyler introduced the “Most Addictive Reality Star” award followed by actress Carmen Electra introducing Little Boots, the evening’s first musical act. Little Boots proved her talent was far from “little” with her larger-than-life performance of the groundbreaking hits “Remedy” and “New in Town.” Actor/Comedian Alec Mapa brought the laughs as he landed a giant smooch on Cheyenne Jackson during his introduction of the “Brink of Fame: Comic” award. Up next, actress Candis Cayne revealed the “Best Future Feature,” honoring the most anticipated film blockbuster of the season. The music performances continued as soulful Shontelle took to the stage for her network television debut with the passionate ballad, “Impossible.” The awards got “friggin’ awesome” as New Jersey’s most infamous pair, Snooki and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, joined Ross Matthews to introduce the “Cause You’re Hot” award. A trio of awards was up next as Actress Erin Cummings of the steamy series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” presented the “Brink of Fame: Actor,” honoring the red carpet darlings of tomorrow. Janice Dickinson served her fiercest runway walk as she introduced the most delicious award of the evening: “Best New Indulgence.” Nominees ranging from the “splits” from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” to the infamous cast of “Jersey Shore” made this award a morsel of guilty pleasure. Finally, actor Ryan McPartlin and actress Kristin Cavallari presented “Best Show You’re Not Watching” award … The evening wrapped with singer Kelly Osbourne and Johnny Weir presenting the final honor: “Brink of Fame: Music Artist” award, followed by an electrifying performance of “Release Me” by songstress Agnes in her network television debut. The results will be revealed Thursday, June 17, 2010 during the airing of the “NewNowNext Awards” 2010.

It sounds like it was a fun show … I can’t wait to find out who won what. LOGO‘s NewNowNext Awards are always so fun, they have some of the coolest awards … generally, handed out to the most deserving folks in pop culture. Make sure you tune in to LOGO on June 17 to find out if your fave pop culture celebs walked away with NNN Awards.

Cute is what she aims for
Kristin Cavallari Hits The Pool In Las Vegas

A couple of weeks ago we got to see a few disturbing photos of the over-inflated Hills star Heidi Montag hosting an afternoon of wet and wild fun at Liquid Pool and Lounge at the Aria Resort and Casino in the City Center entertainment complex in Las Vegas, NV … today we get to see photos of new Hills star Kristin Cavallari taking her own turn as host. And, IMHO, it looks like KC did a much better job in her hosting duties:

No bulbous breasts, no silicone-filled face … just a pretty girl in a tiny bikini standing around looking beautiful — and getting paid for it. Heidi‘s beach ball-sized breasts look too ridiculous in a two-piece bathing suit … Kristin looks much more normal and proportional, hence, much less scary. It’s clear in this case, bigger isn’t better. I have to say, I think KC makes a very lovely pool hostess … don’tcha think?

Don't sweat the small stuff
Kristin Cavallari Gets Her Nails Did

Despite the fact that MTV announced the end of her faux-reality TV series The Hills, Kristin Cavallari is still going about her biz as if everything were just fine. Here are a couple pics of KC as she made her way out of a local nail salon where she spent an afternoon getting pampered:

My girl KC is gonna be just fine. She enjoyed her time on Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and did her time on The Hills … who knows, mebbe she’ll go back to making movies that no one watches again? Whatever the future holds for Kristin, I know she will enjoy life on her own terms. She’s taken a lot flak during her stint as the main lady on The Hills (and many blame her for the show’s demise) but I’ve always been a fan of hers and will continue to be so. Keep your head up, KC! You will never be “Dunzo!” in my eyes ;D

Birthday Lurve
Happy 23rd Birthday, Kristin Cavallari

Kristin Cavallari, who turned 23 years old last week, got around to celebrating her birthday at Eve nightclub in Las Vegas, NV last night with a select few family and friends. KC was presented with her own birthday cake for the occasion … she was also, apparently, presented with her own couch to sit perched upon as she reigned over the evening:

I understand Miss Thang was sippin’ on champagne all night long, which sounds like fun … I just hope she was actually having much more fun that it looks like in these stiff photos. Perhaps Kristin and her peeps really got her party on last week on her actual birthday and last night was just a nice prologue to welcome in her 23rd year of life. Whatever the case may be, let’s send out all our (belated) Birthday Lurve to Kristin Cavallari today!

Kristin Cavallari will remain the HBIC
‘The Hills’ Will Return For Season 6

Great news for fans of The Hills (Bad news for those of you with less lurve for the show), MTV has announced that it has renewed The Hills (and The City) for a sixth season!! Despite sagging ratings for The Hills, MTV clearly does not want to let the series fade away so it has signed Kristin Cavallari to come back for another batch of eps:

“The Hills” may have sloped in the ratings after the departure of Lauren Conrad, but it has been picked up for a sixth season, Variety reported on Wednesday night. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, around one-third of the “The Hills” audience tuned out after the 23-year-old LC departed the MTV reality show, but it will get a new season. “The City,” starring former “Hills” star Whitney Port, has been picked up for another season as well. Prior to the conclusion of Season 5, “The Hills” cast Lauren’s “Laguna Beach” frenemy Kristin Cavallari after LC announced her departure from the show. Since joining the docu-soap, Kristin has created a host of on-screen trouble with the cast, including friction with Audrina Patridge over on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bobby. But she recently told the Los Angeles Times that things between them were less heated than they appeared. “With music and editing they can make it seem that way, but it wasn’t romantic with Justin and I at all because I didn’t trust him,” Kristin said in an interview following the show’s Season 5 Part 2 finale, in which the pair seemed to decide to give their budding relationship a chance. “Just because we kissed doesn’t mean we were intimate.” Instead, she described their current status as “hanging out and talking.” “You’re going to have to wait and see what happens on the next season,” she said.

As much as I LOVE KC, I was not really wowed at all by the last season of The Hills. Yes, I watched every single ep but I was totally bored thruout the season. Even with all the contrived drama surrounding Kristin and her relationships with Justin-Bobby and Brody Jenner, I couldn’t even tell you what transpired from one ep to the next … cuz basically nothing transpired from one ep to the next. As for the scenes with newlyweds Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt … well, it really looked like they were included on a weekly basis because they had to be included due to contractual obligations. It really felt like the show lost all of its steam … and its gleam. I hope they can amp up the interest level in the coming season cuz I sincerely doubt they can justify a season 7 if they end up giving us another boring season again. Is anyone out there excited about this renewal of The Hills?
