One of my favorite things to talk about, write about and do is NYC related. Maybe it is because I am still madly in love with this city, or maybe its because it constantly surprises me. Either way, I figured for those living in the city, and those in other places around the country, it would be fun to hear about all the GOSS and goings on around here… the what, who, when and where of celeb sightings, fashion events, clubs, bars, restaurants and our fave stars… Ahh New York – you are magnificent, even when its 40 degrees and rainy! :)

Earlier this week Kristen Bell posted a message on her official Twitter profile that referred to her fiancée Dax Shepard as her “husband”, sparking chatter that the couple may have secretly gotten married. But a rep for the couple has clarified that Kristen and Dax did NOT get married … at least not yet.

Betty White, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kristen Bell — all co-stars in the new film You Again — are featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of AARP The Magazine (which is geared toward the older set). In the coverstory interview, Betty opens up about her sex drive … which, apparently, hasn’t slowed down in her golden years. Sound intriguing? Read on …

“Does desire melt away with age? I’m waiting for that day to come,” the 88-year-old tells AARP Magazine in its November/December issue. “Sexual desire is like aging,” she continues, pointing at her head. “A lot of it is up here.” White, who shares the magazine’s cover with two of her You Again costars Jamie Lee Curtis and Kristin Bell, tells the magazine that her first marriage was totally physical. “I married my first husband because we wanted to sleep together,” she says. “It lasted six months and we were in bed for six months.” After a disastrous second marriage, White met game show host Allen Ludden. She says they were a match made in heaven – even though she wasn’t initially interested. “He bought me a beautiful ring and I threw it back at him,” she recalls, “so he wore it on a chain around his neck. He said, ‘I’m going to wear it until you put it on your finger.’ ” It worked, and the couple walked down the aisle in 1963, and stayed together until his death in 1981. “The secret to our marriage was enthusiasm,” White says. “When I knew Allen was coming home, I would freshen my makeup and put on a new blouse.” And the sex was apparently great, too. If Ludden were alive today, White thinks they’d still be sleeping together. But if he were unavailable, White has a second choice. “I don’t have a fella,” she says, “but if Allen – or Robert Redford – were around, we’d have a very active sex life.”

OK … let’s be honest … I’m not sure many folks are too keen on hearing about the sex drive of an 88 year old woman (except for 88 year old men) but I do love how open, honest and forthcoming Betty is about her personal life in this article. You just know that underneath all those Rose Nylund sweaters beat the heart of a romantic … a sex hungry romantic. While it sounds like Betty ain’t getting as much play as she used to get in her hey day, it also sounds like the desire to get down and freaky ain’t quite sputtered out for her yet either. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing … but it is now something that we are all very well aware of.

Last week we learned that actresses Kristen Bell and Anna Paquin will both be appearing in the upcoming sequel film Scream 4, which is still in filming production in Michigan, and today we get to hear from Kristen herself about the fate of her character in the film. Kristen doesn’t give away too much about what happens in Scream 4 but based on her comments in this Parade interview, I think we can safely assume that she will portray one of the film franchises skewered victims:

On her hush-hush cameo in the upcoming Scream 4.
“I am in the movie, I will say that. I don’t know if I can say much more than that but it’s a really, really fun movie and everyone loves it as much as they did the first one.”

Will her character suffer a fate like Drew Barrymore’s in the first flick?
“It doesn’t go down like you think it does. But it was fun doing it, that’s what I’ll say. I loved being a part of the movie.”

HMMMM … well, we do know for sure that Kristen‘s character will die in the film … but how. Many people are guessing that she will be the first victim to go but I’m not so sure. My guess is that Anna Paquin‘s character will be the opening death scene … or maybe it will be both of them at the same time? Scream 4 will not hit movie theaters until next year so speculating right now is a bit pointless. But I’m excited, y’all. I cannot wait to see this film!

Here’s a bit of news coming out of Michigan concerning the sequel film Scream 4 which is currently filming there now … it is being reported that True Blood star (and recent newlywed) Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) have joined the cast of Scream in cameo roles. Now, when you appear in a horror film in a “cameo role” that usually means one thing … your character won’t live for very long … so the question becomes, which one of these actresses will live longest in the film?

Hot news out of the horror world Wednesday: “True Blood” star Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell will make cameos in “Scream 4,” now shooting in Michigan. The Wes Craven project has a top secret script, but those in the know say the cameos are in similar nature to that of Drew Barrymore’s in the original “Scream.” The 1996 movie opened with an electrifying sequence of Barrymore forced to play a phone game with the killer. Jada Pinkett Smith and Omar Epps made cameos in “Scream 2.” USA Today broke the news. The Hollywood Reporter learned about the cameos a little while back but complied with a request to hold the reveal as a service to movie fans. The script, according to insiders, is 140 pages long. The general rule of thumb is that one page equals one minute of screen time; 120 pages is already long by horror movie standards, so expect some serious cutting (no pun intended) in the editing room. Also, the movie was originally scheduled to have a 42-day shoot, with the last day occurring on Labor Day holiday weekend (September 4-6). Now, the actors have having their stays extended to the new wrap date, September 24.

Alas, it is getting harder and harder to keep secrets from movie sets a secret. To be honest, knowing that Anna and Kristen will appear in Scream 4 in cameo roles doesn’t seem like much of a spoiler to me. I’m happy to learn this kind of information about a film currently in production … it’s just the spoilery plot points that I try to stay away from. I would not be surprised if one of these two ladies ends up being the first character to get offed in the opening moments of the film … any guesses which one will go first?

Congratulations are in order for Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard who, we are learning today, are engaged to be married! The couple have been dating since 2008 and when last we saw them, they were making quite a show of thier lurve (and their anger) at Disneyland here in SoCal … US Weekly reports that Dax propped the question over the holidays and the couple managed to keep it a secret until now (it turns out that Kristen was wearing her engagement ring on the Grammy Awards red carpet last night). BellDax is gettin’ hitched, y’all!

Kristen Bell is engaged to Dax Shepard, her rep confirms to UsMagazine.com exclusively. Shepard, 35, proposed over the holidays, a source tells Us. Bell, 29, debuted her ring on the red carpet of the Grammys Sunday night. The couple first stepped out publicly in January 2008. Bell detailed her perfect date night with Shepard in the November issue of Women’s Health. “There is almost nothing, barring a natural disaster, that I would let eat into my time at home, playing Scrabble with Dax or talking to my girlfriends,” she said. She joked that they were competitive while filming romantic comedy When in Rome, currently in theaters. “We were trying to one-up each other,” she said. “That’s what we do at home, too. It’s like, ‘Wait – watch me do this funny bit.’ ‘No, watch me do this funny bit!.” The secret to their relationship? “I’ve learned the necessity for healthy communication. How important it is to talk about your deepest, darkest fears and feelings,” she says. “Your partner should hear your most embarrassing insecurities, because once you say them out loud, you’ve created a safe zone.” And “a snuggle party can fix anything — it’s true,” she added.

Yeah, I don’t know what to say about this. I was perplexed when the couple coupled up back in 2008 and I’m still perplexed by this news … but love is love and I couldn’t be happier that these two have found it with one another. I’m pretty sure the couple met while making this When In Rome movie together and I’m usually weary of workplace romances like this but, again, I wish them all the happiness in the world for a long and very happy life together! No word on when the couple will be saying their I Dos but considering how much they value their privacy, we may not find out about their wedding until it’s already a done deal.

Last night tweens of all ages convened at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City here in LA for the 2009 Teen Choice Awards. While the show doesn’t air on TV until tonight, the whole shebang was filmed last night. Britney Spears was on hand to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, the Ultimate Choice Award, from the Teen Choice folks but it was Twilight that cleaned up … taking home 11 surf board trophies. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals and some deets from last night’s affair:

“Twilight” struck a vein at the Teen Choice Awards. The adolescent vampire drama dominated Sunday’s ceremony with 11 wins, including choice movie drama, romance, liplock, rumble and soundtrack. Kristen Stewart won the movie drama actress category while Robert Pattinson picked up two surfboard-shaped trophies — one for movie drama actor, another for male hottie. “We’ll see you guys in theaters November 20th,” co-star Taylor Lautner teased the squealing crowd. Lautner and Ashley Greene, who will appear alongside Stewart and Pattinson in the upcoming “Twilight” sequel “New Moon,” were honored as the male and female movie fresh faces while Cam Gigandet was crowned movie villain. “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke joined the cast on stage to accept the adaptation’s pack of trophies. The Teen Choice Awards, which were selected by over 83 million votes cast online, honor celebrities in TV, film, music and sports. Several winners — including 16-year-old Miley Cyrus and show hosts the Jonas Brothers — took home multiple trophies at the 11th annual ceremony at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Gibson Amphitheatre. Cyrus sailed away with six awards, winning for comedy TV show and actress for “Hannah Montana;” music/dance movie actress and hissy fit for “Hannah Montana: The Movie;” music single for “The Climb” and summer song for “Before the Storm” with the Jonas Brothers. Cyrus also presented Britney Spears the ultimate choice award. “I’m a huge fans of hers,” Cyrus said before a subdued Spears accepted her own surfboard. The Jonas Brothers won five trophies, including choice male red carpet icons. They kicked off the show performing on a tiny stage that moved through the audience. Throughout the taped ceremony, the trio completed dares submitted by fans. At one point, younger brother Nick was challenged to hug a lineup of female fans. “It’s just hugs,” Joe cautioned the women. “You’re not going for long-term relationships here, girls.” Other big winners included “Gossip Girl” and Zac Efron. Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick picked up TV drama actor, actress, villain and TV series awards for the sudsy CW show while Efron won for music/dance movie actor in “High School Musical 3″ and comedy movie actor and rockstar moment in “17 Again.” The ceremony itself was peppered with several odd moments. Kathy Griffin arrived on the red carpet with Levi Johnston, the teenage ex-fiance of Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. Mike Tyson took shears to Joe Jonas’ head as part of stunt. And before presenting the choice hottie awards, comedian Dane Cook pleaded to Vanessa Hudgens to keep her clothes on. The Teen Choice Awards is scheduled to air Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.

Yes, it was Dane Cook‘s shout-out to Vanessa Hudgens‘s nekkid pics that was the TRUE highlight of the show … which you can watch HERE just in case FOX decides not to air the interaction on TV tonight. The happily coupled Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard spent part of their weekend at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA enjoying the Xmas decorations there and getting in a little bit of sucky face in the process. It’s been quite a while since we last saw BellDax out and about in public together … glad to see that things appear to be going well for the couple. Unfortch, Dax got a wee bit pissy when he realized that the couple’s public displays of affection were being photographed:

I mean … I get that mebbe it’s not always fun being photographed while enjoying intimate moments with loved ones but when you are a celeb who chooses to get intimate at a place like Disneyland (with who knows how many cameras on site) should you really be surprised? I don’t necessarily think that Disneyland is really the place to be making out with your more famous girlfriend (nor is it a place to be flashing the middle finger, what with all those young children all around) but that is neither here nor there. If Dax Shepard really wants to keep from being photographed in public, he should prolly break it off with Kristen Bell because, let’s be honest here, photogs aren’t really interested in him as much as they are interested in taking pics of her.

Spike TV culled together various celebrities from the world of horror, sci-fi, superherodom and more to their annual Scream Awards which were held this year at the Greek Theater here in LA last night. Each year, Spike gives out awards that honor achievement in comics, fantasy, horror and sci-fi because, well, who else is gonna do it? Here are a few pics of some of the folks who came out to strut their stuff on the red carpet at the 2008 Spike Scream Awards last night:

Even tho the awards were handed out at the Greek Theater last night, we’re gonna hafta wait until the show airs on Spike at 9PM on Tuesday night. So, if you’re interested to know who took home awards in the categories of Best Science Fiction Movie, Best Villain, Most Memorable Mutilation, Holy S@#$! Scene of the Year and more then you’re gonna hafta tune on Tuesday night. I will say that Julie Benz (Dexter/Saw V actress who was nominated for Best Actress: Horror Movie or TV Show) looked utterly amazing on the red carpet. Marilyn Manson and Twiggy Ramirez made a supercute couple and Gary Oldman just rules the world. It should be noted that Smashing Pumpkins performed live at the awards last night so … it might be worth checking out. Now, I have no idea who won what but I am rootin’ for Ms. Benz to win her award. I can’t wait to watch the show to see if she ended up walking home with her very own Spike Scream Award.
