Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall were all on hand over the weekend to appear at the Tokyo, Japan premiere of their new film Sex and the City 2 (which beat Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time at the box office here in the US) … and the ladies were lookin’ completely fabulous at the event. Here are a few photos from this weekends SaTC soiree in Japan:

Despite a few negative reviews of the film, I think fans of the series (and, more importantly, of the characters) have been loving the film … and now it’s the Japanese fans’ turn to enjoy Sex and the City 2. I’m not entirely certain but I think this may be one of the last stops on the SaTC ladies’ world tour to promote the film. Last January there was a report going around that plans to film a third SaTC movie might go into production very soon after the release of SaTC 2. Because the lovely ladies aren’t getting any younger, it makes sense that they would want to get to work on a third (and final?) film. But, considering how rough the reviews have been, I understand they might put the kibosh on plans for a third movie altogether. I, personally, would LOVE to see another movie … so long as they work a bit on the story. Let the ladies stay in NYC and do what they do best … that’s what needs to happen if another movie is made. What do y’all think … should the powers that be move forward with another Sex and the City movie or should they put the entire franchise to bed and end it right now?

Last night in NYC Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis were joined by a host of other celebs for the premiere of their new film Sex and the City 2. The lavish event, which took place at Radio City Music Hall, managed to attract a horde of screaming fans who were anxious to get a look at the fabulously stylish stars on the red carpet. Here are a few photos from the SaTC 2 premiere in NYC last night along with some deets from the event:

Monday night in Manhattan marked a milestone for many New York women, with the premiere of the most-anticipated chick flick of the season, “Sex and the City 2.” Outside Radio City Music Hall, thousands of women braved a muggy city evening during rush hour. Sandwiched against police barricades, fans formed a veritable sorority as they sweat through their foundation and mascara, chanting “Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, Miranda!” over the din of honking taxicabs. When the leading ladies, Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes), Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) and Kirstin Davis (Charlotte York) actually appeared, Parker, dressed in a whimsical neon-yellow colored gown, walked boldly away from the red carpet toward her public, embracing women who pleaded for autographs. “It’s almost like she’s Jesus,” one reporter said, laughing, as the press looked on, transfixed. Later, when Parker, Nixon and Cattrall bypassed most of the media, waving apologetically, reporters grimaced. Thankfully, unlike their female co-stars, the leading men in the movie took the time to dish on what fans can expect from the sequel. David Eigenberg, who plays Steve, Miranda’s husband, revealed his character’s opinion of his onscreen spouse. “Miranda [is] kind of bossy. She kind of busts my chops. … But she’s good in the bed, you know,” Eigenberg told ABCNews.com. Eigenberg also admitted that he doesn’t relate to his character, Steve, at all. “I’m a lot meaner and stupider than he is,” he said … John Corbett, who plays Aiden, Carrie’s former fiance, whom she encounters in the new movie while vacationing with the girls in Abu Dhabi, emphasized the movie’s surprising merits for men. “I always thought that this show was just for the women. There’s a lot to learn if you just pick up a Cosmopolitan once in a while. … It’s like a guide. This movie acts in the same way. All you got to do is pick up some popcorn and some coke, and you’ll pick up some tips if you’re interested,” Corbettt told ABCNews.com. Jason Lewis, who plays Smith Jerrod, Samantha’s hunky ex-boyfriend, hinted that his character will also appear in Abu Dhabi. “The travel and location was amazing,” he said, beaming. “Oh, and you know, it’s a horrible thing being surrounded by pretty women,” Lewis joked. Chris Noth, who plays Carrie”s husband, John Preston — aka Big — looked suave and debonair in a black tuxedo. In the sequel, Big and Carrie are rumored to have marital problems. On the red carpet, Noth didn’t really kiss and tell about the plot, saying the movie is about “grappling with the traditions” … Unlike many of her female co-stars, Kristin Davis did take the time to summarize the movie, calling it “a fun romp.” Dressed in a bright-pink gown, Davis also dispelled frequent rumors of offscreen cattiness among the four women. “All four of us were together for most of the time off camera. We had a very similar situation to what they had in the movie but with less controversy,” Davis said.

OMG, this looks so fun! The SaTC folks always save the biggest premiere for NYC, for obvious reasons, but I am really looking forward to the LA preview screening that will be taking place at Grauman’s Chinese Theater tomorrow night. The event, hosted by Moët & Chandon, will show the film first before taking the party to the new Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum on Hollywood Blvd. (insert your own joke here) for a bubbly afterparty. I am SO excited for that event because David and I have been invited to attend :) I’ve been really looking to SaTC 2 since we heard the movie was greenlit for production … it doesn’t seem like all that long ago that we saw the first photos from the set and now … the film has already enjoyed its first premiere. I’ve been staying as far away from movie spoilers as possible (mainly because I feel I already know too much about the plot from the released movie trailers) and I’ve refrained from reading any reviews so I can enjoy the film unencumbered by other opinions. I know there will be quite a few of you making your way to movie theaters this Thursday for the release of Sex and the City 2! Who’s excited?!

In the mag, SaTC director/writer Michael Patrick King shares a couple of fictional screenplays where he re-imagines the ladies in different settings, as different characters. Sarah Jessica Parker, who is lookin’ not herself in the latest poster for Sex and the City 2, is looking absolutely flawless on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Marie Claire magazine. Here is our first look at her new MC coverphoto and some excerpts from the accompanying article:

Unless you’ve been on a Cosmo bender for the last few months, you know that Sex and the City 2 is headed to the multiplex, and with it, every red-blooded, Louboutin-loving woman in America. The buzz began last summer with the first location shoots, when mobs of fans followed the trailers around New York City like rock groupies gunning for a seat on the bus … Now, as opening night approaches, big questions loom: What will befall the now-midlife fab four? Will the sequel bust the $415 million worldwide chick-flick record set by its predecessor? And the other multimillion-dollar question: Do Sarah Jessica Parker and Cattrall really hate each other? Parker demurs on all counts, especially the last. The film’s star and producer — who says she’s seen to “every detail, every atom” of the movie since shooting wrapped in late 2009 — compares the behind-the-scenes tension to that of any busy office. “When you’re on set, you’re working 90-hour weeks, you’re never home, you’re exhausted,” she says. “There are times when all of us have been sensitive, and sometimes feelings get hurt. But I don’t have any regrets about how I’ve treated people.” Cattrall maintains that “the chemistry among the four of us is very strong.” So why have stories of enmity and infighting followed the cast since before the first movie came out, when Cattrall reportedly made a fuss about Parker’s salary being twice her own? “Because the press has to put women in these boxes, rather than show them as the movie portrays them: working together and being powerful,” says Cattrall. “Things just have to be explosive for no other reason than for people’s imaginations.” Kristin Davis, the resident cheerleader — who with Parker organized a Thanksgiving Day dinner of couscous and turkey for members of the cast and crew in Morocco — laughs off the idea of infighting. “There was a very strange piece in one of the tabloids that said Kim and I would eat in the restaurant of our hotel and not sit together, which cracks me up,” she says, actually cracking up. “When I would get back from the set, I would go to the gym and get room service. I’m not a put-on-decent-clothes-and-go-to-the-hotel-restaurant person, but Kim is. The story was that we don’t like each other. Ridiculous!” The group has had their disagreements, admits Cynthia Nixon. “It hasn’t always been smooth sailing,” she says. “But the idea that we’re somehow adversarial is ludicrous.”

Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall are all featured on the cover of the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar Japan magazine to promote their upcoming sequel film Sex and the City 2 (due out in theaters here in the US on May 30). Tho, if you look closely, you can kinda tell that the ladies were not photographed together for the cover … it appears they were actually Photoshopped together in post-production:

I find it a bit odd that the SaTC ladies couldn’t get together to pose for a real magazine cover (especially with a new film to promote) but this isn’t the first time the ladies have pulled stuff like this. They are notorious for never posing for photos together for shoots like these. They each pose on their own and let the Photoshoppers do the rest. They each look very lovely tho (well, save for Ms. Cattrall … what is going on with her head?) but this doesn’t seem like a magazine that I feel I’d need to pick up.

Yesterday we got our first look at the first movie poster for Sex and the City 2 (due out in theaters next May) and today we get to see a few newly released promo pics from the film which feature Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw (wearing the outfit that is featured in the new movie poster) and a group shot of Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha (SJP, Cynthia Nixon, Kristen Davis and Kim Cattrall respectively) singing a karaoke song in the film!

We don’t yet know what song the ladies will be singing in the flick but you can bet it’ll be a fun track. First a movie poster and now promo pics … bring it on, bring it on!! I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ll be seeing a teaser trailer sometime soon. Love me some Sex and the City … I want more, more, more.

A few weeks ago we started hearing the rumors that Miley Cyrus would be appearing in the new sequel film Sex and the City 2, which is currently filming in NYC, NY and then we began hearing reports of what her appearance in the film would be like. Instead of a featured role, Miley would appear in a cameo appearance only (thank Gods). It turns out that those reports are true, here are the first photos of Miley on the set of SaTC2 filming her cameo appearance yesterday in NYC and the deets as reported of her cameo:

Although Miley Cyrus was only, um, 5 when Sex and the City debuted on HBO back in 1998, the teen is apparently a big fan and has landed herself a guest-starring role in the upcoming movie sequel. The 16-year-old Disney darling, who recently wrapped on the film The Last Song, is now confirmed to appear in the sure-to-be-a-hit flick. Don’t look for Miley to take on a big role a la Jennifer Hudson’s personal assistant character in the first movie. She’ll instead be making a cameo as herself and will have a big showdown with Kim Cattrall’s Samantha when they show up wearing the same dress to an event (horror!), says a report. In the script, Mario Cantone’s character, Anthony, reportedly says: “Mother of God. She is wearing the same dress as Hannah Montana.” Miley — who’s not expected to utter any lines in the film — is expected to shoot her scene on Oct. 16.

Blech. I, personally, think this is horrid idea but at least it’s only a cameo appearance … it could’ve been MUCH worse. As I recall, Miley famously started blabbing to media outlets that she was a big fan of Sex and the City when it aired on TV … which would mean she was a pre-pubescent girl who’s parents let her watch an adult television series that talked in a very frank manner about all manners of sexual escapades … none of which should be at all surprising considering the way the Cyrus family have raised their little meal ticket. But I digress … it would appear that Miley‘s blabbing inspired the filmmakers to put her in the film … the little minx is pretty smart, don’t you think? Here are a few new photos from the NYC set of Sex and the City 2 which continued filming this weekend. In the first photo, we can see that Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw) and Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) are lunching/babysitting little actress Alexandra or Parker Fong (Lily York Goldenblatt) … and then the ladies leave the restaurant without little Lily. Kristen Davis (Charlotte York Goldenblatt) was not present in the scene so it looks like Aunties Carrie and Samantha were taking care of little Lily:

Of course, we have no real idea what is going on in this scene … but it is cute to see SJP and Kim Cattrall with the little girl (either Alexandra or Parker) who plays Charlotte‘s eldest daughter. Because the scenes are all filmed out of order, we don’t know what is going on … but it is still fun to see the film being made.

First we saw Sarah Jessica Parker‘s Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw rockin’ an outdated 80′s look and then we saw Kim Cattrall‘s SaTC character Samantha Jones rockin’ an 80′s look and today we get to see that Kristin Davis as Charlotte Yorke and Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes also got in on the fun. Here are a few amazingly fun photos of SJP doing her best Madonna and Kristin lookin’ about as preppy as you’d imagine of her Charlotte character:

OMG … I love these photos. I think pretty much everyone is in agreement that these scenes will be used in the film as flashback scenes, despite the fact that none of the ladies (who I love) look that much younger despite the outdated outfits they are wearing. Nonetheless, these 80′s flashback scenes look like they are going to be a hoot. If you think these photos of Carrie and Charlotte are fun, wait ’til you see what Miranda looked like in the 80′s — after the jump, find out …
