‘Kill Bill Vol. 3’-D?

Ever since news broke last October that Quentin Tarantino is planning the make the third installment of the Kill Bill series of movies, there has been MUCH interest in any new information about the planned production. In December, Tarantino revealed that the next film will not be titled Kill Bill … and today we learn that the new film, whatever it will be called, may be made in 3D:

Quentin Tarantino is set to make his movies even more graphic – he wants to make the next “Kill Bill” sequel in 3-D. James Cameron’s Oscar-nominated 3-D epic “Avatar” has inspired a number of other filmmakers to adopt the popular technique. George Lucas is planning to revive his “Star Wars” films in 3-D, while studio bosses at Warner Bros. have confirmed the technology will be implemented for the final installments of the “Harry Potter” franchise. Tarantino has been a fan of 3-D movies for several years and wishes he had acquired the technology prior to the release of “Kill Bill” in 2003, because he would have happily included the popular effects. Tarantino is set to make a third film in the franchise and he’s hinted he may use the technology for “Kill Bill 3″, which is due for release in 2014. He tells WENN, “I was thinking of 3-D after I saw ‘House of Wax’, I’ve always liked 3-D. I was thinking 3-D after I saw “Friday the 13th”. I’ve always liked 3-D. So if I had the right stories, for instance if I could do ‘Kill Bill’ allover again I’d be tempted to do it in 3-D.”

Wee!! Altho I feel this 3D fad may be getting out of hand just a touch, I’m really all for it. I remember back in the 80′s when “all” the movies had to be in 3D (Amityville 3D, Jaws 3D, etc.) and I loved them all … even if the movie sucked, seeing it in 3D was a treat. During this period in the 80′s, many movies broadcast on TV were in 3D as well. I am very much looking forward to seeing Alice In Wonderland in 3D next month and I would LOVE to see the next Killed Bill film in 3D when it gets released in theaters. I am ALL for this idea … are you?

Here comes 'The Bride'
Quentin Tarantino Reveals That ‘Kill Bill: Vol. 3’ Will Not Be Called ‘Kill Bill’

Ever since news broke back in early October that Quentin Tarantino has started early production of a new Kill Bill movie, I have been eagerly awaiting any news at all about the project. A couple weeks after the first new Kill Bill news came out, star Uma Thurman spoke a tiny bit about the project but really had no new news to pass along. Today we learn that Tarantino is talking about the project again … but is making clear that the next Kill Bill film will most likely not be titled Kill Bill … presumably because Bill was killed in the last film:

Few months ago, Quentin Tarantino has shared his plan to make “Kill Bill 3″. As the villain, Bill, was dead at the end of Volume 2, the director has decided to change the title of the upcoming movie. “It wouldn’t be ‘Kill Bill’,” he told MTV. “It would be Volume 3 of the story of the Bride.” Though so, the third “Kill Bill” film will not be happening soon as Tarantino still has another upcoming movie project. “There’s no script, there are just ideas and notes. I won’t do that next, but it could very well be the thing I do after next,” he stated. Assuring that the movie will definitely happen, he added, “We’re getting there. We’re about one movie away.” Previously, Uma Thurman has said that she is ready to reprise her role as The Bride. However, Tarantino believed he should give her ten years off before she is back in the action film. “One, I think me and Uma [Thurman] needed a ten year break,” the Academy Award-winning director shared the reason behind the wait. “And the second one, I love the character and I think she deserves ten years of peace,” he continued explaining. “She deserves ten years of no fighting, she deserves ten years with her child Beebe. I put her through a lot in those first two movies and I just want her to have a nice peaceful life for ten years.”

Grrr … it sucks that we have at least a full year more to wait before this movie really goes into production but I’m thrilled that Tarantino keeps talking about it. I think it totally makes sense to rename the third movie considering Bill and all of his assassins (save for Elle Driver) have been eliminated by The Bride/Black Mamba, Beatrix Kiddo (Uma Thurman). I am DYING to see what Tarantino comes up with for the next film … will Bebe play an integral part? How about Vernita Green‘s daughter (who bore witness to her mother’s murder at the hands of Beatrix Kiddo)? Maybe those two girls will go at it in the next film? Ugh … the anticipation may kill me … but we’ve waited this long for a new film, I suppose we can wait a bit longer … right?

"[Tarantino] has started to share with me what he was thinking, and it's awesome"
Uma Thurman Talks ‘Kill Bill: Vol. 3’ . . . Kinda

Actress Uma Thurman sat down for a little interview with MTV to talk about her new film Motherhood and managed to talk a wee bit about the news that Quentin Tarantino is planning to make Kill Bill: Vol. 3. As y’all should be well aware, Thurman played the Kill Bill star Beatrix Kiddo/The Bride in the first two films and will presumably reprise her role in this new film. Even tho she really couldn’t say much, she did at least go on the record about plans for a third Kill Bill film:

In 2005, Quentin Tarantino told MTV News that we’d have to wait a full decade until he revisited “Kill Bill” territory and brought Uma Thurman’s Bride back for a third film in the series. “Uma’s got to get 10 years older, the little girl has to grow up and everything,” he explained. And whaddya know, before this decade has closed out, the director has started to hint that we might actually see another “Bill” within that time frame. “The Bride will fight again!” he told an Italian TV station. We just spoke with Thurman, who is in town promoting her upcoming comedy, “Motherhood,” and we asked the actress if she’d spoken with Tarantino about the new movie. “We did chat, we did chat,” she told us. “He has not yet finished the script. I don’t even really know if he’s really started it, although I got a taste of some of his ideas and they are really good.” That statement’s certainly a head-scratcher. Did she mean to say QT told her he’s started writing, but she kinda doesn’t believe him? That he’s been brainstorming ideas but that by “not yet finished” she meant “hasn’t even started”? We’ll have to wait for confirmation on that one, because Thurman maintained tight-lip status about any more “Bill” details. “I can’t tell you!” she cried. “I’m sorry!” Since Thurman and Tarantino essentially created the character of the Bride together, Uma would presumably have a say in which direction their fictional creation heads. When the last film ended, she and her daughter were reunited and headed off for happy-ever-after land. But you just knew that was only going to last for so long. In her chat with Tarantino, did she contribute any of her own ideas? “He has started to share with me what he was thinking, and it’s awesome,” was all she’d say, understandably. So whatever shape the script is in (or if it actually exists yet) and whenever production might one day ramp up, one thing we do know is that Uma is down for “Kill Bill 3.” “Yeah, I think it’d be fun!” she said.

Argh … it’s gonna be a loooooong ass time before we learn anything concrete about the next Kill Bill movie. Uma herself doesn’t even know if Tarantino has written the film yet so … well, we wait. After the jump, check out video of MTV‘s interview with Uma to hear her not really say much about anything in her own words …

Woooooooooooooot!!!
Director Quentin Tarantino Confirms The Production Of ‘Kill Bill: Vol. 3’

In absolutely MOTHEREFFING FANTASTIC NEWS, it is my extreme pleasure to pass along the news that writer/director Quentin Tarantino has announced that he will be making Kill Bill: Vol. 3!!! Kill Bill: Vol 1 and Kill Bill: Vol 2 are among my all time fave films … and he did promise to make a third movie “10 years after Kill Bill 2” … so it looks like Part 3 will be hittin’ theaters sometime in 2014:

Speaking on an Italian talk show Parla Con Me, Quentin Tarantino confirms his plans to make a Kill Bill 3. The writer/director — whose last film Inglourious Basterds has generated over $245 million in worldwide box office — says that he will make another installment of his successful Kill Bill series, but that he wants there to be a 10-year break between the second and third film. That would put Kill Bill 3 with a 2014 release date and his star Uma Thurman at 44, just the right age to kick more ass.

If I remember correctly, Tarantino mentioned that Vol. 3 would feature the daughter of assassin Vernita Green/Jeannie Bell (aka Copperhead) lookin’ for revenge after witnessing her mother’s slaughter at the hands of Beatrix Kiddo (aka Black Mamba) … so I guess we can assume she will be in the film. As you may or may not know, Kill Bill was originally meant to be one big movie comprised of both Vols. 1 and 2 but due to time constraints it was broken into two films. I’m sure that Vol. 3 will be another chapter in The Bride saga … and I can’t freakin’ wait!! I know there are a lot of Kill Bill fans out there … who’s excited???
