Kelly Clarkson Professes That She ‘Could Never Be A Lesbian’

Contrary to very popular belief
Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

In a new interview with Popeater, Kelly Clarkson (who is beginning the promo rounds for her new single My Life Would Suck Without You and new album All I Ever Wanted) addresses the rumors about her sexuality and goes on the record about how she feels about former American Idol contestant Clay Aiken and his coming out late last year. In this new interview, Kelly sets the record straight (literally) and claims that not only is she NOT a lesbian but she could NEVER BE a lesbian:

Get it straight: Kelly Clarkson isn’t gay. “I get that all the time,” she tells AOL’s pop culture news site, PopEater.com.. “People are like, ‘Are you secretly a lesbian? Because I’d really love it.’ “Lesbians tell it to me all the time,” she goes on. “I’m like, ‘I’m glad it works for you, and I wish I liked women like that because often times, men are very hard for me, but I happen to like boys.’” Clarkson goes on to say she “could never be a lesbian. I would never want to date [someone like] myself, ever. I’m a crazy person. I need some kind of stable, quiet man.” But she has no problem with gay people, she says. “I don’t really care if you’re black, white, yellow, gay, straight, crazy, whatever,” says the singer. “As long as you’re cool and you like the music, and you’re coming out to have a good time at the shows, I don’t really care.” As she prepares for the release of her fourth album (out March 10), she says she wants to focus on her career, not dating. She says she doesn’t think it’s weird she’s never been in love, either. “I recently got back from this European promo tour…and every interview kept focusing on that….I’m like ‘Well, maybe ya’ll just fall in love too quickly. Have you ever thought about that?’” Says Clarkson, “I was like ‘I don’t think it’s very odd. I’m 26-years old,’ and I just think I’d rather have quality than quantity.”

Not that I expect Kelly’s comments on her sexuality to quell the rumors about her but I think it’s great that she goes on the record and has her say. I, too, have heard the stories about Kelly and her rumored girlfriend … but, honestly, it really doesn’t concern me. I’m sure she’s well aware that this question is bound to come up now that she’s back on the promo scene (and will likely come up again). I can absolutely understand why lesbians would want to claim her as their own, she’s a very beautiful and talented girl. In the end, I think it’s best that we just focus on her talent and her music and leave her private sex life to herself … whatever that may be. I, for one, believe what she says … do y’all?

First Look: Kelly Clarkson, ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’

At last, the video is here
Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

A couple of weeks ago we got our first listen to Kelly Clarkson’s new single My Life Would Suck Without You … a few days later, the song was made available for download on iTunes and it immediately became the #1 most downloaded song. Earlier this week we were told that fans would be given a preview of the vid during tonight’s episode of American Idol … but why wait, you can watch the video in full right here:

The vid is pretty cute, there’s an awful lot of cutesy boy-girl love in this music video. I think I was expecting a bit more excitement but it is pretty simple. Much like the song itself reminds me of her hit song Since U Been Gone, I have to admit that this video resembles that video as well. Mebbe she’s trying to make lighting strike twice? In any event, I love the song … and I quite like the video. I can’t wait to see/hear more. After the jump, check out the music video for My Life Would Suck Without You in full …

Kelly Clarkson Releases Two New Promo Images

'All I Ever Wanted' promotion gets underway
Friday, January 16th, 2009

Here are a couple new promo images of Kelly Clarkson that were shot by photographer Mark Ruiz to promote the release of her new album All I Ever Wanted which is due for release on March 17:

Head over to THIS Kelly fan forum to see these images (along with the cover artwork for her new single My Life Would Suck Without You) in ginormous, high res quality. She looks pretty swank in these photos … I love how her bling has that extra little sparkle that can only come from Photoshop manipulation. As I mentioned before, I am very much looking forward to hearing more from Kelly’s new album. These new promo pics are a great way to get geared up for her new disc.

First Listen: Kelly Clarkson, ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’

A return to form
Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Z100 radio in NYC debuted Kelly Clarkson’s new single My Life Would Suck Without You, which will appear on her upcoming album All I Ever Wanted, this morning and now the song is available for streaming online … check it out:

Kelly Clarkson is a singing a new tune. The singer premiered her latest single “My Life Would Suck Without You” on Elvis Duran’s Z100 radio show Tuesday morning, and PEOPLE.com has a stream of the song. The tune comes from Clarkson’s latest album, All I Ever Wanted, due March 17. The love song finds Clarkson back firmly in power-pop territory after releasing 2007’s dark My December, which was released to mixed reviews. All I Ever Wanted is the former American Idol champ’s fourth studio album.

The song is quick little ditty and it is upbeat as hell! For me, it has that Since U Been Gone feeling and will, most likely, get a lot of radio and club play. I’ve already listened to it about 5 times, it’s a catchy little number. Check out now! Do y’all like? Will this be a big hit for our girl Kelly Clarkson?

Kelly Clarkson’s New Album ‘All I Ever Wanted’ Gets New Artwork

Kelly's amazing, Technicolor, pleather coat
Friday, January 9th, 2009

Last week we got our first look at the new artwork for Kelly Clarkson’s new single My Life Would Suck Without You which is the first single off of her then untitled album, due out later on this year. Today we learn that Kelly’s new album has been titled All I Ever Wanted and we also get our first look at the album artwork:

Pretty swanky … I like the colors, not sure about the pleather jacket but Kelly rulz so I am not complaining. Amazon is taking pre-orders for the disc HERE, which is scheduled for a March 17 release date. I know there are quite a few folks (me, included) who are anxiously awaiting the release of this new album. I’m sure the disc will be great (Kelly is an amazing songwriter) but I wonder if it’ll be more distinctly pop/radio-friendly oriented (considering the hell her record label gave her over her last album). In any event, I’m very excited to hear Kelly’s new stuff … methinks it will be a pop-heavy album — judging by the artwork for both the single and the album alone — we might be in for a really fun, dancey disc.

Kelly Clarkson Is Droppin’ A New Single

My life will suck if she makes us wait much longer
Friday, January 2nd, 2009

Kelly Clarkson is such a tease … homegirl just debuted the official artwork for her new single My Life Would Suck Without You with nary a clip of the track to whet our collective whistle. By the looks of the shiny single cover artwork, it looks like Kelly has succumbed to the pressure laid on her by her record label to put out more pop-friendly music:

While I think it would suck to know that Kelly had to resort to shiny happy music at the behest of her label bosses and against her musical integrity, it does sound like she is really excited about the new as yet untitled album she recently finished recording. According to her official blog, the tunes on her latest effort still need to be mixed and mastered and according to her official My Space profile, the album is already available for preorder HERE. I love Kelly Clarkson … I think her last album was pretty damn good and would’ve done much better had her record label boss Clive Davis not sabotaged it by badmouthing the album before it even came out. I’m anxious to hear what Kelly’s new tunes sound like … I suspect we’ll be hearing My Life very soon.
