Er … here are a few photos of Katie Holmes shooting scenes for her new movie The Extra Man which, apparently, call for the actress to roam the streets while carrying an extra-large stuffed lion:

Yeah, I dunno what the hell is going on either. But, these photos are too … odd … to not post. I assume that this scene will most likely make sense within the context of the film but I fail to envision what that sense may be. Mebbe Katie’s character is upset that she lost the AM radio she wanted to win at the fair and had to settle on this stuffed lion? Perhaps her character managed to escape a heist at FAO Schwartz but is sad cuz her partner wasn’t so lucky? Mebbe this scene is meant to portray some existential metaphor for one’s lack of courage in the face of overwhelming sadness? HMMM … what do y’all think this scene with the stuffed lion is meant to portray?

Here are a few photos of Katie Holmes squeezing out a few tears on the NYC set of her new film The Extra Man that is filming this week in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York. As you can see, Katie seems to have gotten her hands on one of Angelina Jolie’s old costume from The Changeling and was hard at work filming a very emotional scene:

Oh yeah, she is really workin’ thru some stuff to get those tears a-flowin’ for this set. It’s like the director gave her a bit of direction right before he started filming … something along the lines of, “Now remember how nice and normal your life was BEFORE you met Tom Cruise and he wholly sucked the life force out of your every being and think about how you’ll never, ever get it back …. and … action!“ Hey, at least Katie has a lot of emotional stuff to draw from to be able to nail scenes like this. I’m so not a fan of period pieces nor am I really a fan of Katie Holmes movies (Mad Money? No thanks!) so I might have to pass on seeing this film when it finally hits theaters. I am curious to see more photos of her filming new scenes on the streets of NYC tho. I wonder what other emotions she’ll be bringing to the table as filming on The Extra Man continues in the weeks to come.

Suri Holmes-Cruise became a princess for a day this week when her parents, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, took her to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida and let her loose upon the park. Little Suri was allowed access to all of the Disney characters who were clamoring over one another to have their photo taken with the little robot. Here are a few pics of the Holmes-Cruises (including Connor Kidman-Cruise) as they enjoyed all the wonders that the Magic Kingdom has to offer:

Being the daughter of one of Hollywood’s most well paid actors certainly has its perks. And toddler Suri Cruise was enjoying the benefits of it during a family trip to Walt Disney World in Florida. The two-year-old, who was dressed as a princess for the occasion, looked to be having a magical time as she was treated to a very personal meet and greet with her heroes Mickey and Minnie Mouse while her doting parents Tom Cruise, 46, and Katie Holmes, 30, looked on. The Cruise family skipped the queues at the theme park and spent time with a number of characters including Cinderella – much to Suri’s delight. The toddler, who has become something of a fashionista despite her tender years, looked adorable in a blue ball gown and bare feet and was all smiles during the trip which was a Valentines Day surprise for her and her mother from film star Tom. Katie opted for a more casual look for the occasion and was sporting a striped top and jeans. Before the trip Cruise admitted that he had some special treats up his sleeve for his 30-year-old wife and would provide “a lot of surprises for her throughout the day.”

Aww, so precious. It really looks like Suri had a great time. I understand the only snafu came when the family rode the It’s A Small World ride and Suri got lost amongst the other animatronic children. Because it was very difficult to find Suri in the midst of all the other adorable little robots, they had to shut down the ride to find the little doll. I believe she was found hiding amongst the Tahitian robots. In any event, it appears that the entire family had a great visit to Disney World … clearly evident from the smiles on all of their faces. See, even robots need to vacation every once-in-a-while.

We’ve already seen the FIRST image and the SECOND image from Miu Miu’s new Spring/Summer 09 ad campaign featuring Katie Holmes … but today we get to see the rest of the images from the campaign now that MiuMiu.com has been updated with the full set of S/S 09 ad campaign photos. Here are a few new photos of Katie Holmes trying to be as fabulously Victoria Beckham as she can for Miu Miu:

When Katie Holmes signed a deal to become the new face of fashion range Miu Miu, she didn’t have to look too far for modelling advice. In the latest images released from her new Miu Miu campaign, the actress appears to have taken posing tips from close friend Victoria Beckham. In contrast to her real-life smiley image, Mrs Cruise looks pouty and straight-faced as she reclines on various sofas and floors for the stunning shoot. The 30-year-old’s appearance in the Miu Miu Spring/Summer ‘09 campaign marks her first major advertising campaign. In the atmospheric ads, Katie poses in clothing and sunglasses from the Miu Miu brand in warm, glowing room. The high-necked dresses and tunics cover up Katie’s increasingly skinny frame. Katie alarmed fans earlier this week when her Christian Lacroix vintage dress exposed her bony breastplate and protruding collarbone. The photos were taken by acclaimed photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, who cited Italian film-maker Federico Fellini as their inspiration. Miu Miu said the photos portray ‘a luminous icon radiating a sense of mystery and theatricality, which evokes a certain Fellini-esque chaotic excess’. In contrast to the make-up free, pale Katie we’ve seen on the streets of New York over the last few months, the actress looks glowing in the ads with her shiny skin and smoky eyes. Her bob is also gelled back to give the impression of a much shorter haircut – a similar length to the one Victoria is currently sporting. Since meeting husband Tom Cruise in 2005, Katie has been transformed from the girl-next-door in Dawson’s Creek to A-list fashionista. While regularly winning kudos for her outfits, Katie has also been accused of stealing Victoria’s style. After having long locks for most of her career, Katie went for a ‘Pob’ cut – the Posh version of a bob – in 2007 – nine months after Victoria lost her hair extensions. While also wearing a host of designer fashion on the red carpet, Katie is also interested in designing herself and has worn several of her own creations to Hollywood events. The Batman Begins star is the latest in a list of high-profile stars to front a Miu Miu campaign. Previous Miu Miu models include French singer/actress Vanessa Paradis, Kristen Dunst, Lindsay Lohan, Drew Barrymore and Chloe Sevigny.

Oh yeah, she really does look Posh in these photos. While I miss the All-American girl next door that we all knew and loved, I don’t really hate this new, more fashionable Katie Holmes. Sure, it still looks like she is trying too hard but … I cannot fault her for trying to look as fabulous as possible. Who doesn’t love to play dress-up … and get paid for it? Earlier this week we saw photos of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in Brazil and we got an eyeful of Tom’s bulging muscles that couldn’t help but show thru his very tight, very thin sheer shirt. Yesterday we saw photos of Katie and daughter Suri Holmes-Cruise enjoying an afternoon away from Tom’s watchful eye (but, alas, the ladies weren’t able to make a successful getaway). Today, the best photos yet … Tom Cruise — shirtless by the pool, behold:

And by “best”, I mean “UGH!” I had a feeling that Tom’s penchant for the sheer shirt might lead to something along these lines. Surely, one cannot fault him for disrobing in order to enjoy the lovely Brazilian sun (or for sucking in his gut cuz he knows he is being photographed) but … the mere thought of Tom Cruise in any state of undress is … unsettling … which is why I’m making all y’all endure my unsettlement along with me ;) Tho, I must confess, there was once a time when the sight of a mostly nekkid Tom Cruise wasn’t a scary thing … quite the contrary. At any rate, I understand that TomKat have already left the country and, presumably, are fully dressed once again. And for that, we give thanks.

Here are a couple photos of Katie Holmes and her robotic daughter Suri Holmes-Cruise taking a break from Tom Cruise as they strolled together on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil yesterday (you may recall that TomKat are in South America to do some promo work for his new film Valkyrie) … and it looks like they tried to make a break for it:

I don’t believe that little Suri is programmed for escape cuz … well, her little robot legs didn’t let her escape. I understand that Xenu-lovin’ friends of Tom jumped out of the bushes with nets and dragged gently encouraged Katie and Suri back to their pen hotel room. Ah well, better luck next time!

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have made their way to Brazil to do a little promo work (and possibly enjoy a little R+R?) and they look to be in a partying mood … well, at least Tom does … Katie, for her part, looks tired and worn out. Tommy, on the other hand, is smiling from ear to ear and seems happy to show off his bulging muscles which cannot help but show thru his flimsy black shirt. Here are pics of TomKat as they stepped out onto the streets of Brazil this weekend:

TOM CRUISE is clearly keen to show off his new trim bod. The Mission Impossible star has got into decent shape recently, just in time to fulfil endless publicity for his new film, Valkyrie He’s currently in Brazil, where the film debuts on Tuesday, and enjoyed an evening at a sushi restaurant in Copa Cabana wearing this see-through top with wife KATIE HOLMES. The couple had earlier taken their daughter SURI to a beach located on the residential area of a Brazilian military base in Rio de Janeiro, where she mixed with children of military staff.

Yeah, I don’t know that I need to see Tom Cruise’s nipples poking thru his sheer shirt … I realize it may be hot down in Brazil but … are sheer shirts on men really necessary? I guess it depends on the man, actually … Hugh Jackman could wear a sheer shirt any time he likes and I’d be OK with it. In any event, I hope Katie is able to get some rest … she’s been workin’ hard on Broadway for the past few months, she deffo deserves a vacay. Get some sun, Katie … and get a proper shirt or your husband! Thanks!!
