Kate Hudson & Álex Rodríguez Go Public With Their Lurve Affair

The worst kept secret in celebrity romances finally comes clean
Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Ever since Madonna ditched Álex Rodríguez for the much younger Jesus Luz late last year, A-Rod has been semi-quietly dating actress Kate Hudson. Neither one of them ever confirmed the relationship but Kate has been front and center at almost every single one of A-Rod’s baseball games this year which all but made it clear that the two are involved. At long last, a photo of the pair swapping spit in full public view has come to light (but was snapped last month) and it can FINALLY be confirmed that K-Rod are deffo a couple in lurve … behold:

There’s no doubt who’s man of the match for Kate Hudson. The Bride Wars star has confirmed to the world that she’s now officially with New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez – otherwise known as A-Rod. The pair shared a tender moment at a family picnic day at Yankees Stadium – ending any doubts that they’re an item. Rumours have been rife for months that the divorced Hollywood actress was dating one of America’s most celebrated sportsmen. The mum-of-one was spied enjoying romantic meals with the man nicknamed ‘The Cooler’ by team-mates, as well as secret trysts at his Manhattan apartment. But the picture of the pair kissing, which was taken in late July, has only just emerged to the general media. More recently, Kate, 30, has been proving her devotion to A-Rod – cheering him on from the front row of the stand, at almost every one of his games. And it appears to have paid off – she’s been dubbed a “lucky charm” by some of the American sports press. A-Rod has seen his game improve since he began dating the Hollywood beauty.

You know, perhaps Kate Hudson is the perfect trophy girlfriend for the Rod-man. Madonna is way too controlling for him to look like the stud that he thinks he is, so it’s prolly to his benefit that she dumped him. Kate seems like a very sweet and clearly devoted woman. I don’t know that she’s ever set foot inside a baseball stadium before she started mackin’ on A-Rod. And if her presence in the crowd is helping his game, then he’s really hit the jackpot with her. You gotta admit, they do look good together. Any guess on how long K-Rod will last now that the cat is officially out of the bag?

The 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards Are Handed Out

'The Dark Knight' cleans up as fans pick their entertainment faves
Thursday, January 8th, 2009

For the 35th year, the People’s Choice Awards were handed out to honor various entertainment outlets and actors as chosen by the people themselves. Last night’s award show was held at the Shrine Auditorium here in LA and brought out a cavalcade of celebs to collect their awards. The big winner of the night was The Dark Knight, which took home 5 People’s Choice Awards … but it turned out to be a big night for a few other folks as well. Here are some photos from the show and the press room and a run-down on who won what at last night’s affair:

Batman movie “The Dark Knight” soared away with five People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday including favorite movie and on-screen pairing for stars Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger to kick off Hollywood’s annual awards season. Country singer Carrie Underwood, who rose to fame on television talent show “American Idol,” was another big winner, hauling in three People’s Choice Awards for favorite female singer, country song “Last Name,” and star under 35 years-old. “Fans and people voting for me are what gave me a career in the first place,” Underwood said, acknowledging the voting by music lovers. “This is an amazing night.” The People’s Choice Awards, in its 35th edition this year, are a widely watched measure of popular appeal for Hollywood stars and they mark a starting point for the industry’s annual awards season which runs through the Oscars, the world’s top film awards, that take place in February. Adam Sandler was named funniest male star, Reese Witherspoon favorite female movie star, and Kate Hudson top leading lady among winners in more than 40 categories covering film, television, music and even online entertainment.

Sandler, Witherspoon and Hudson all echoed a familiar theme of the night by saying People’s Choice honors were special because they were voted on by fans, as opposed to critics or members of industry groups. The ceremony also has a more casual atmosphere compared to TV’s Emmy’s or the film industry’s Oscars, where black ties and ball gowns are mandatory. Noting that difference, Katherine Heigl, who accepted the trophy for best comedy movie for her “27 Dresses,” told reporters backstage that she wore a pants suit because “it was after the holidays, so I didn’t want to wear anything strapless or anything I had to suck in my stomach for.” Among film honors, “Dark Knight,” which was 2008’s top film at box offices with global ticket sales of nearly $1 billion, also proved to be the No. 1 movie of the night. Along with best film and on-screen match-up, it hauled in awards for favorite action movie, superhero for Bale as Batman, and for its cast. “The Secret Life of Bees” was the winner of best film drama and favorite independent film, and animated “Wall-E” was the No. 1 family film for People’s Choice voters. In the TV arena, medical show “House” was named favorite TV drama, and “Two and a Half Men” was best TV comedy. “The Mentalist” was top new TV drama while “Gary Unmarried” was the No. 1 new TV comedy. “House” star Hugh Laurie took home the trophy for favorite male TV star, and Christina Applegate took the honor of top female TV star for “Samantha Who?” Applegate, who revealed earlier this year that she underwent surgery for breast cancer, said the award meant a lot to her after a difficult year.” “I feel great. I really do,” she told reporters backstage. “Each week gets easier and each week gets better.” Ellen DeGeneres was named best TV talk show host and “Dancing With the Stars” was the people’s pick for No. 1 competition or reality TV show. Along with Underwood, top winners in music included Kid Rock for favorite rock song “All Summer Long,” Rascal Flatts for favorite group, Chris Brown best male singer and Katy Perry with best pop tune “I Kissed a Girl.”

I love the People’s Choice Awards primarily because the winners are determined by the people … which is unlike any other major award show. I had tickets to attend last night’s show but couldn’t make it because of a last minute meeting I had to attend late yesterday afternoon. As much as it bums me out that I couldn’t attend, I’m very happy with the way other things are going in my personal life right now … but I’m digressing. Much congrats to the winners of the PCAs this year. Let’s see if The Dark Knight is able to secure any other nominations and awards as the Awards Season carries on. ‘My Best Friend’s Girl’ Premieres In LA

Dane Cook tries his hand at another RomCom ... and then gets raunchy
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Kate Hudson, Dane Cook, Jason Biggs and others made their way out to the Cinerama Dome at the Arc Light Theater in LA last night for the Hollywood premiere of their new movie My Best Friend’s Girl. Unfortch, I was not able to attend last night’s event … but my good friends Darion and Kirsten were able to attend and D sends in a few of his photos and his report from the premiere event. First up, here are a few pics of the principal cast on the red carpet at last night’s premiere:

Yes, yes … everyone looked lovely, Dane Cook’s eyebrows looked plucked to near death, yadda yadda yadda. I’m most interested in reading what Darion thought of the movie and the premiere overall. Here are a few of Darion’s fun pics and his report from last night’s event:

Kirsten and I headed over to the Arclight in Hollywood to see the premiere of My Best Friend’s Girl, starring Kate Hudson, Dane Cook, Jason Biggs, and Alec Baldwin. It was held at the classic Cinemarama dome, which is always fun to see things in. On my way to the seat, we had problems finding which row was ours (it was so dark!), and a really nice guy with longish hair helped us out… I realized it was Hal Sparks (of Talk Soup and Queer As Folk fame)!! He was sitting a few rows behind us and was looking for seats at the same time. Only in LA … My Best Friend’s Girl is a romantic comedy about a guy named Dustin (Jason Biggs) who is in love with a girl named Alexis (Kate Hudson). Unfortunately Alexis doesn’t feel the same way, and Dustin comes on way too strong, thus getting dumped by Alexis. So Dustin asks his best friend to help out. Enter Tank (Dane Cook), who is hired by guys to date women and be the ultimate a-hole, thus causing the woman to run straight back to the last guy they were with. Naturally a love triangle follows! What’s really surprising about My Best Friend’s Girl is the raunchy humor. I was really expecting another cute but sleepy romantic comedy, but it really keeps you on your toes with “OMG!” laughter. Dane Cook delivers his lines and jokes with such rapid fluidity it’s like a verbal assault of hilarity. The writing is fantastic and Kate Hudson is ridiculously cute. She can somehow get away with dropping F-bombs on screen and still be adorable. The casting is spot on – I have to give a big shout out to Lizzy Caplan, who was a total scene stealer as Kate Hudson’s roommate. She was amazing in Cloverfield and is so funny in this film! Kirsten and I really enjoyed it and laughed a lot. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, spunky romantic comedy or a laugh out loud modern comedy in the vein of Wedding Crashers or a 40 Year Old Virgin type film. It’s a movie I can see a girl dragging a guy to on a date, and them both being totally entertained and laughing the whole way. When the movie was over we made our way to the afterparty at Opera/Crimson in Hollywood. It was a blast! While there I had the chance to get photos with some of the great talent in the film – Riki Lindhome (Hilary), Mini Anden (Lizzy), Malcolm Barrett (Dwalu, Dane Cook’s officemate), and of course Mr. Cook. Everyone was super nice and so friendly! I have to give a big shout out and warm THANK YOU to my boy Jean and my girl Danielle from Lions Gate for the hook up to the premiere and afterparty. Kirsten and I really had a blast and it was so sweet of them to host us!

Aww … I think I might have give Darion a job, this is the second report that he wrote for Pink is the new Blog (you can read his first PITNB special report HERE) and I think he is doing an amazing job. It sounds like he and Kirsten had a great time … I really wish I could’ve been there. Thanks D, for making us feel like a part of your night.

Kate Hudson & Lance Armstrong Are Dunzo!

Peace The Spork Out, HudStrong
Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

And so … yet another celebrity fairytale romance comes to a crashing end. US Weekly is reporting that Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong have decided to call it quits and terminate their roughly 3-month relationship. They’re dunzo, y’all:

Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong called it quits this weekend after a three-month romance that went public when they were spotted in Austin, Texas in mid-May, Usmagazine.com exclusively reports. “There was no drama or ugliness – They just decided to end things,” a source close to the couple tells Us. “There is no hatred, just sadness.” The pair quickly became inseparable with sightings of them in Austin, New York and Los Angeles – though both dodged questions about their relationship. In the short time they were together, the 29-year-old actress was seen with the 36-year-old cyclist at many of his races and events, including his three-day Lance Armstrong Livestrong Summit in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend. It was at the conference that Hudson and Armstrong decided to go their separate ways, a source tells Us. Each had introduced the other to family. Hudson’s mom Goldie Hawn gave what seemed to be her approval at a July 1 lunch at The Ivy at the Shore. Also, Hudson’s four-year-old son Ryder went to a Father’s Day brunch with Armstrong — and dad Chris Robinson – in June. A rep for Armstrong had no comment while a rep for Hudson could not be reached.

To tell the truth, this particular hook-up lasted longer than I anticipated that it would. I’ve heard that Lance is a bit of a cad, so I’m sure he must’ve been really serious to spend 3 whole months with one chick. Kate, for her part, prolly ain’t hurtin’ for dates … she’s a major hottie who is sure to score a new dude if and when she’s ready. I gotta say, HudStrong did look very cute playing couples tennis together a few weeks ago. Ah well, I guess we’ll just have to pour one out for the late, great HudStrong and carry on as best we can.

Kate Hudson And Lance Armstrong Play Tennis

Game, Set, Match ... Love?
Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Kate Hudson and a shirted Lance Armstrong (who also appears to have gotten a haircut since last we saw him) were spotted enjoying a friendly game of doubles tennis earlier today in the Pacific Palisades here in LA … here are a few pics:

I’m not sure who was winning but my guess is that the score was Love All ;)
