Kanye West’s New Ladyfriend Shares Her Photos On Twitter

Amber Rose poses with Kanye, Madonna and Justica
Thursday, May 14th, 2009

Amber Rose, the shaved headed model who has been seen in the exclusive company of Kanye West in recent weeks, posted a few photos on her official Twitter profile from inside The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala last week where she was lucky enough to party with Madonna, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. Here are a couple of her fun Twitpics of the gang having fun:

It’s a pose often favoured by inebriated students – a hand grasping a fellow reveller’s behind. But at 50-years of age Madonna should know better. The mother-of-three was pictured striking the unusual pose with fellow guests Amber Rose, the model girlfriend of Kanye West. That were at the star-studded Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Ball earlier this month. Of course, Madonna may have thought the photo would never be viewed by the general public. But Amber Rose was so pleased with it that she posted it on her Twitter page – sharing it with the world. Yesterday Amber’s boyfriend Kanye, also in the Madonna picture, made it clear that he doesn’t share his girlfriend’s passion for the social networking page. In a rant on his blog the rapper chastised those pretending to be him. ‘WHY WOULD I USE TWITTER???’ he wrote ‘I’M TOO BUSY ACTUALLY BUSY BEING CREATIVE MOST OF THE TIME AND IF I’M NOT AND I’M JUST LAYING ON A BEACH I WOULDN’T TELL THE WORLD. EVERYTHING THAT TWITTER OFFERS I NEED LESS OF.’ Perhaps he should share his views with his girlfriend.

Hahaha … meh, who cares if Kanye doesn’t use Twitter, at least his ladyfriend does and she can be the one to share the deets when he chooses not to. I’m surprised that this accompanying report didn’t quote Kanye’s best line from his recent Twitter rant:

HEY TWITTER, TAKE THE SO CALLED KANYE WEST TWITTER DOWN NOW …. WHY? … BECAUSE MY CAPS LOCK KEY IS LOUD!!!!!!!!!

I love it. I may have to start following Amber Rose just in case she shares any more pics like this. It would be funny as hell if she posted a photo of Kanye West lying on the beach … clothed of course.

Jared Leto Blogs About His Collabo With Kanye West

Confirms Kanye provided vocals for a 30 Seconds to Mars track
Friday, April 17th, 2009

On Wednesday we got to check out a very strange photo of Kanye West, Jared Leto of (among other things) 30 Seconds to Mars and Brandon Flowers of The Killers together in the studio where they were working on a “DOPE ASS SONG” (Kanye’s words, not mine) together. Today, Jared Leto published a new blogpost on his official My Space profile enlightening us on the experience. Here is the full text of Jared’s latest blogpost and a photo he shares of Kanye “working his MPC“:

THE SECRET IS OUT…

So, as you may have heard, I, along with a small contigency of studio tanned soldiers took a short expedition to Hawaii and spent a not so tropical but nontheless fun filled weekend locked down in the studio working with Mr. West.

Kanye sang on a song I wrote called HURRICANE for our new 30 SECONDS TO MARS record and we experimented and explored on some other ideas as well. It was great. And he sounds amazing on the song. We may not have brought back any island tans but we did bring back the final track and it was an unforgettable trip.

P.S. Brandon Flowers is the nicest guy on the planet and has a great sense of direction. We may not have found our way home that night without him. Thanks Brandon.

P.P.S. We hope to see you all on Sunday, April 26th in Hollywood, CA for “The Summit” at… THE AVALON More details coming.

We have many more secrets and surprises that we can’t wait to share with you…..sooooooon

-jared

Here’s a pic I took of Kanye working his MPC.

Thirty Seconds to Mars is also doing a MySpace video chat on MONDAY, APRIL 27th at 6PM PST. See you then.

So, I guess we will prolly get to hear this song after all. I have to admit, I never would’ve pictured Kanye West and Jared Leto as the kind of musicians who would fancy working together (throwing in Brandon Flowers just makes the whole notion even that more unbelievable) but here we have it. I, for one, love that these guys do like working together. If anything, it’s bound to be an interesting if not DOPE ASS SONG to check out. Who knows, if this collabo turns out to be a huge success, mebbe we’ll get to see other odd parings in the future. Marilyn Manson and Ashlee Simpson? Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift? Chris Cornell and Timbaland? Nah, all of those pairings would be TOO incapable of making any sort of interesting music ;)

What Do Kanye West, Jared Leto & Brandon Flowers Have In Common?

Beats the mothereffing Hell outta me
Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Kanye West posted a new blogpost on his official blog yesterday along with a very interesting photo … both of which I present to you here (all spelling, grammatical and CAPS errors are Kanye’s own):

I WAS WORKING ON THIS DOPE ASS SONG WITH JARED AND BRANDON STOPPED BY. I PLAYED THEM SOME OF THE NEW JEEZY BEATS AND BEFORE EVERYBODY BOUNCED BRANDON HOPPED ON THE KEYBOARD AND I HOPPED ON THE MPC. SHIT WAS DOPE. OH AND YES THOSE ARE SWAROVSKI CRYSTALS ON BRANDON’S SHIRT BY DRIES VAN NOTEN.

Um, whut? Talk about your strange bedfellows … but, hey, I can dig it. I’m so glad that Kanye provided a photo of these three together cuz as strange as the blogpost sounds, the somewhat awkward photo really tells the tale. We can only hope that we will be able to, one day, hear this “dope ass song” by Kanye West featuring Jared Leto and Brandon Flowers. Do any of y’all have any guesses as to what an opus like this might be titled?

Kanye West Does ‘Complex’ Magazine

White out
Monday, March 23rd, 2009

The always entertaining Kanye West is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Complex magazine. In his coverstory interview, he talks about how the recession as effected his pocketbook (yes, not even Kanye West is immune to the failing economy), touches on his sexuality and discusses Kanye West: The Brand. To accompany this riveting interview, Complex enlisted CGI photographer Chris Milk to photograph Kanye purely digitally for his very interesting photospread. Here is Kanye’s Complex magazine cover and a portion of his interview with the mag:

Kanye West is performance art. He’s an idea. A brand. A mission. An inspiring, infuriating, over-the-top and constantly evolving contradiction of values that are articulated sometimes abstractly, and often heavy-handedly, through the man’s every expression—be it producing, rapping, singing, designing or, more often than not these days, just living. Whether it’s the curation of his clothing tonight, the selection of his beautiful, bald date tomorrow, the spare, design-forward architecture of his Los Angeles and Manhattan homes, or the costume party he and his posse threw in Paris during Fashion Week, it’s all presentation—a new vision of the world, starring him as the catalyst.

Complex: You’re driving us through L.A. with no driver or bodyguard—
Kanye West: Yeah. I’m rich and I’m famous, but I try not to be extra with it.

Complex: [Laughs.] Has the recession affected you?
Kanye West: Yeah, I try to avoid it overly affecting me. But some shit has happened, like Best Buy was supposed to [shoot and produce] the tour DVD and they pulled out of it. I definitely got hit with that, because not shooting it was not an option, so I had to pay for it.

Complex: Did you consider how a recession might affect the reception of the “Martin Louis King” video you made in Paris?
Kanye West: People tune into me for escapism. When you went to the Glow in the Dark Tour, you were literally transported to another planet. I know there’s anti-rich sentiment right now, with corporate people not using their jets and Obama saying heads of banks can’t make more than $500,000, but I really feel like that tape embodied me and what Louis Vuitton is about. I’d like to think I give optimism to people when I stunt. When I have a pink watch on or tight jeans on, people talk shit about me, but if I wore all gray and black, who would be the one to wear all the bright colors? How depressing would it be if I was always depressed, or should I say, the press. I’m here to entertain people and to be the one that does the crazy, bold stuff so they can live through me and get their mind off the recession and the war and whatever else is going on in the world.

Complex: You know that video and those pictures made the Internet go apeshit, right?
Kanye West: It blew their fucking mind, didn’t it? I’m going to honestly say I don’t know exactly what it was. Was it—

Complex: Taz’s tights.
Kanye West: That’s what I was about to say! Was it Taz’s outfits? What does Taz wearing tights have to do with me? How does Taz—mind you, a dude who is straight—wearing tights make me gay this week? How am I gay this week?

Complex: You know, since then, people who know that I know you have asked two recurring questions: Is he on drugs? Is he gay?
Kanye West: [Laughs.] What do you tell them?

Complex: That I’ve never seen you do drugs, but I’ve definitely seen you go in, as far as chicks—
Kanye West: [Laughs very hard.] But, you know, that doesn’t prove anything [to them], right? Someone could just be like, “He’s just running in girls when he’s really thinking about fucking guys.” That’s, like, the devil’s advocate thing that they probably say. But drugs? How perfect is that? People think I’m on drugs! I didn’t even have to do drugs for people to think that I was on them. And what’s funny is that I feel like my outfits were very masculine and very hip-hop.

Complex: Why do you think there’s such a fixation on your sexuality?
Kanye West: I really think it’s because society tries to dictate the way a guy is supposed to dress and the way a guy is supposed to act, and I refuse to conform. A lot of these dudes would never be accused of being gay just because they all look exactly alike. If people could just realize the amount of mundaneness and followers that lack creativity… I think people’s mentality is like, Only gay people are that creative. And it’s true there are a lot of gay people who are incredible creative minds, but there are straight people who are incredible creative minds—and there’s gay people who can’t dress or create at all, too. Closed-minded gay people probably say they dress “straight.”

Complex: What does the brand Kanye West mean?
Kanye West: Pop but Luxury. Edgy but Comfortable. I’m about clashing worlds that you think don’t belong together. This is our world and everything belongs together. That’s the ill thing about our president. Our president is black, but our president is white, too. And the original struggle of America is racism, and to have someone in office that represents both of those sides is what I think this world is about. Segregation and snobbery and elitism should be the wack words. That should be what people use to dis people.

Complex: Your fashion endeavors have been much more exclusive and expensive than your music. Does your brand translate equally to both mediums? Do they have the same audiences?
Kanye West: It’s a similar goal. But I feel like when I do my own line it’s not going to be anywhere near as mass as I am to start off with, because it’s impossible to start off there and be credible. I have to start small not only to gain respect but to have time to learn and get better. I have to do some things that affect the world or affect culture, like I did with music. In fashion, trends are set on a high level, so I need to do stuff that hits the runway; like with the Louis shoe and its reverse tongue, that could set a trend that you’ll see on other shoes.

Complex: Would you say your brand is about taking the niche and making it mainstream?
Kanye West: It all comes down to taste. It’s just saying, “I like this,” and I’d like to show other people that this is dope. It frustrates me that people say that I don’t do my own blog because I would never allow things to go up and say that this represents me.

Complex: Tell me about your process of discovery. You’re constantly absorbing new information, so who are you learning from?
Kanye West: I just keep a team of really, really dope people. Don C [from Kanye’s management] has to get the most credit because I respect his taste equally if not more than mine. I am me, but I am also a product of Don. So basically I am his artist even though he works for me. I’m a vessel of people’s ideas.

Complex: For someone who’s known as an egomaniac, you seem to like to collaborate a lot—
Kanye West: Yeah. The fact that I love to collaborate with people, I think, is a very non-arrogant thing. I absorb information, and I want people to know where the information is coming from so those people can be in a position for people to listen to them and capitalize off of the genius that they bring to the table—because I only surround myself with geniuses.

Complex: Do you think you’ve gotten to a place where there’s no self-consciousness or insecurity?
Kanye West:Yeah. There’s no insecurity in the work I do, the outfits I put together, the beats I make, the raps I say.

Complex: Speaking of public outbursts, why is it that you’ll flip on a journalist, like the dude from EW who shitted on the tour, but not another rapper that disses you?
Kanye West: Because I feel like I’m playing on the same intellectual level of a journalist and not of a rapper.

Complex: How so?
Kanye West: [Laughs.] I feel like if a rapper disses me, they’re just trying to get a rise out of me and get me to play in their field to find some way that they can beat me. I feel like there’s a lot of rappers that can beat me in ignorance. So why would I play a sport that I’m not particularly trying to get better at or beaten in? There’s a lot of rappers that can beat me in ignorance, but there’s only a few that can play with true intellect. [Long pause.] How fucking perfect is that fucking answer?!

Complex: So what would you say was the most important thing you learned about yourself in the last 12 months?
Kanye West: That I can be a very level-headed person. I would never spaz on MTV the way I did before. I feel like there are people who have given a lot to me and I wasn’t appreciative of them. MTV had a major part in making me, so how the hell could I ever come out my mouth and dis them and just be like the cry baby–ass bitch over one performance? How the hell is a 29-year-old grown-ass man acting like a little bitch and getting all emotional? How spoiled can I get?

Complex: Do you live in a state of anxiety over how you are being presented to the public?
Kanye West: In no way. It’s just that if I’m working with a writer that I feel don’t got my best interest in mind, I keep on telling them, “Put this in there” or “Don’t try to make me look like a monster.” But I’m not afraid. All I can do is be the best me and learn from the mistakes that I’ve made. There are mistakes that I’ve made that I deserve for people to look at me like a complete asshole because I have been a complete asshole. All I can do is just be a better person for myself—not to prove it to anyone, but just to be a better person, period. I beat myself up, and I make mistakes, and I get past it, and I get excited about the future.

Kanye
may be a bit of a megalomaniac but he’s deffo a smart man and he’s deffo not afraid to do whatever it is that he wants to do. I do commend him for breaking with convention and taking fashion and style risks just because he wants to. He is very lucky that he’s got the clout to pull it off … a lesser performer might not be able to do the things that Kanye does. It’s not hyperbole to say that Kanye West is changing the Hip Hop game. On that merit alone, he is worthy of respect. It’d be nice if his head deflated a bit but I guess you can’t have it all. After the jump, check out a few photos from Kanye’s Complex photospread, the photos are pretty tight …

Kanye West Charged With Three Crimes

Stemming from an incident that occurred last September 11
Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Last September 11, Kanye West got busted by the police at LAX Airport after he allegedly grabbed and smashed a camera belonging to a paparazzo who was trying to film him at the time. The incident did not turn into a full blown scenario and Kanye and his bodyguard, Don Crowley, were released from custody. Today we learn that Kanye West will now be charged with three misdemeanor crimes stemming from that incident — vandalism, battery, and grand theft:

Kanye West has just been charged with three criminal misdemeanors — vandalism, battery, and grand theft — in connection with the camera-smashing incident at LAX. The L.A. City Attorney has charged Don Crowley with the crimes — two counts of vandalism, two counts of battery and two counts of grand theft. TMZ happened to catch the incident on tape. In fact, Kanye broke our camera light as we were shooting. Crowley is charged with breaking both the TMZ camera and the still camera. Kanye is charged with breaking the flash accessory to the still camera. The incident occurred last September 11. Both men are scheduled to be arraigned on April 14. Kanye could get up to 2 1/2 years in jail if convicted on all counts. Crowley could get five years.

LOL! It’s laughable to even bring up the mention of jail time … there is no way in hell that Kanye West is going to see the inside of a jail cell because of this incident. While I would love nothing better than to see a pompous celeb like Kanye really get busted by the court, I sincerely doubt this is the sort of scenario where that is even a remote possibility. Tho, I bet Kanye forgot all about this little incident at LAX from so many month ago … what a great way to be reminded that one’s actions tend to have consequences.

Kanye West Channels His Inner Michael Jackson

Shamon!
Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Well, at least we know that *someone* may be interested in purchasing some of Michael Jackson’s old, unwanted and tacky items that are to go on sale next month at auction … it would appear that Kanye West is very interesting in co-opting MJ’s old “military” look as he took it upon himself to carry the Jacko fashion torch at the Alexandre Herchcovitch Fashion Show at NY Fashion Week last night … behold:

On the plus side, Kanye did get rid of that ridiculous mullet hair’do he was rockin’ at the Grammy Awards a couple of weeks ago … and I suppose one could give him snaps for his bold fashion risks. I dunno how anyone can wear a heavily ornamented jacket like this one and NOT expect to get labeled as a Michael Jackson wannabe. The look just looks silly on anyone but Michael Jackson … and on him, it the look comes off as funny — it’s lose-lose all around. I’m sure Kanye West thinks he is breaking boundaries and is pushing the fashion envelope with this outfit … personally, I just think he looks bad — and not in the good way. Ugh. Sooo horrrible.

Kanye West Does ‘Details’ Magazine

"I'm the fucking end-all, be-all of music."
Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Kanye West, and his very large head, are featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Details magazine. In his coverstory, West reveals that his drive for success in the music industry is most likely derived from his “sex addicted” youth … which is all kinds of disturbing on so many levels. But, it’s Kanye West and he is God’s gift to music so … just deal with it. Here is Kanye’s Details magazine coverphoto and a portion of his coverstory interview:

Kanye West is on another magazine cover (this time with a sure-to-be-appreciated gray-free beard) and as usual the rapper turned auto-tune singer turned fashion designer is full of Kanye-isms. To name a few:

“Put this in the magazine: There’s nothing more to be said about music. I’m the f–king end-all, be-all of music.” “Oh my God, I’m one of the greatest rappers in the world. I’ll get on a track and completely ee-nihilate that track, I’ll eat it and rip it in half. I wouldn’t have to think of it.” “I have, like, nuclear power, like a superhero, like Cyclops when he puts his glasses on.”

What other new tales of grandeur might Kanye have added to his repertoire? Just that a sexual addiction at a young age has somehow fueled his drive for greatness… “People ask me a lot about my drive,” he says. “I think it comes from, like, having a sexual addiction at a really young age. Look at the drive that people have to get sex—to dress like this and get a haircut and be in the club in the freezing cold at 3 a.m., the places they go to pick up a girl. If you can focus the energy into something valuable, put that into work ethic…” That actually sounds more like normal behavior than a full-blown sexual addiction, but if Kanye says he was a sex addict then he was probably the greatest addict to have ever been addicted to sex in the history of sexual studies. He also notes that he was a highly advanced computer programmer of sexual addiction and produced his first Super Mario Bros.: The Penis Remix in the seventh grade: “My game was very sexual. The main character was, like, a giant penis. It was like Mario Brothers, but the ghosts were, like, vaginas. Mind you, I’m 12 years old, and this is stuff 30-year-olds are programming. You’d have to draw in and program every little step—it literally took me all night to do a step, ’cause the penis, y’know, had little feet and eyes.” Cute, right? However, it should be noted that Kanye is over music and penis games as he’s now turning his great sexual addiction nuclear energy exclusively to fashion. He plans on moving to Paris and being mentored by his fashion idol Marc Jacobs. In fact, Yeezy is so into M.J., he intentionally left the designer’s number on the table for his Details interviewer to see. After all, what’s the point in being subtle now?

LOL! Kanye West is just a really funny man to listen to when he’s spoutin’ off. I love the Cyclops comment … except, someone should prolly tell him that Cyclops‘ nuclear power comes from his eyes when he takes off his sunglasses, not puts them on. And, you gotta wonder why it is so important for him to talk about that sexual video game he came up with in the 7th grade … I mean, really. It sounds a lot like when Kenny Chesney started bragging about having sex with “over 100 women” to try and get people to believe that he isn’t gay. It just sounds too contrived.

And since we’re on the gay tip, Kanye also waxes on the state of Gaydom in this new Details magazine interview. Altho he’s never been to a gay bar (and would NEVER go to one), he does reveal that he’s got love for his gay brethren. After the jump, check out two more photos of Kanye from this issue of Details and read about his thoughts on gayness
