Joyce DeWitt Busted for DUI">Joyce DeWitt was busted on charges of drunk driving over the weekend after she got caught driving past a traffic barracade. Upon closer inspection, DeWitt apparently smelled of booze and the rest, as they say, is history. She got busted, y’all:

TMZ has learned “Three’s Company” star Joyce DeWitt was arrested for DUI on July 4th in El Segundo, California. Law enforcement sources tell us DeWitt drove past a barricade Saturday afternoon — and when an officer approached her, she smelled like booze. She was given field sobriety tests and then arrested for suspicion of DUI. The 60-year-old actress, who played Janet Wood on the 80’s sitcom, posted bail for $5,000.

Dang. It sucks that Joyce DeWitt, who I loved as Janet on Three’s Company, would be foolish enough to allegedly endanger the lives of others by choosing to drive drunk. As much as I loved her on TV, I hope she and all other folks convicted of DUI are punished to the full extent of the law. When I heard of DeWitt’s arrest, I was reminded of when Dawn Wells (who played Mary Ann on Gilligan’s Island) got busted for marijuana possession last year. What’s with all the classic TV stars turning to a life of crime these days?
