He was brilliant in 50/50 and now Joseph Gordon-Levitt will make his directorial debut on an new comedy he’ll star in with the beautiful, Scarlett Johansson. He wrote the script, but we don’t have too many details about the new film. We do know that it is a “sexy comedy” and Joseph plays the role of a “selfish dick.” Read on for more details about this new venture for the actor turned director.

It’s been a little while since we checked in on the set of Batman: The Dark Knight Rises and it’s been a while longer since we’ve seen actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt on set. Today we get to both check in AND see photos of JGL in action. Joseph was photographed with co-star Christian Bale filming new scenes together … Christian as billionaire Bruce Wayne and JGL as police officer John Blake. I’m not entirely sure but I’m thinking JGL might play a bad guy … HMMMMM. Check out the photos below.

Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt made his way up to Seattle, WA this week to perform at one of his HitRECord events and decided to bust out his guitar and sing a song for the folks in the audience. Remember how excited we were to learn that both Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt had been reportedly cast in the upcoming Batman sequel film The Dark Knight Rises? Remember how rumors started to swirl that claimed that Cotillard might play Talia al Ghul and Gordon-Levitt might play Black Mask (or some other equally cool, underground Batman villain)? Yeah, well it turns out that those rumors were COMPLETELY wrong … because according to a new press release about the film, Cotillard will play a boring executive and Gordon-Levitt will play an equally boring police officer. Yawn!

Great casting news to pass along today … Deadline is reporting that Inception star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to join the cast of Batman: The Dark Knight Rises but it is widely believed that the “talks” are just a formality. JGL is expected to be on set when The Dark Knight Rises begins filming this Spring … but the question remains … which character will he play?

The fansite Batman Movie News stumbled upon an interesting notation on IMDB last night that associates actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt with the upcoming new Batman film. Altho JGL‘s name is NOT listed on the main IMDB page for Untitled Batman Project (2012), his name is listed on the search page results for the film … behold:

It’s not breaking news that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a leading candidate to play The Riddler in Batman 3. But IMDB is dropping a strong hint that the Inceptionactor will be involved in Christopher Nolan’s third trip inside the Batman movie universe. While searching IMDB on Monday night, I noticed that Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s name was listed alongside Christian Bale and Gary Oldman beneath the site’s listing for Untitled Batman Project (2012). Before you wet yourself with excitement, know this — there is no mention of Joseph Gordon-Levitt if you click on the IMDB link. In fact the only Batman 3 actors listed on the movie’s main page are Christian Bale as Batman, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Caine as Alfred and Gary Oldham as Jim Gordon. But this gives us at least another indication that Joseph Gordon-Levittcould be sporting question-mark suits in his future. Christopher Nolan directed the 29-year-old Gordon-Levitt as Arthur in his 2010 summer blockbuster Inception, and Nolan has a history of using the same actors in multiple films (just ask Christian Bale, Cillian Murphy and Michael Caine).

You may recall that rumors were going around last month that Academy Award winning actress Marion Cotillard, who also starred in this Summer’s Inception, was rumored to be in Batman 3 as well … but those rumors have since been shot down. It is also very possible that JGL‘s name showing up on the search results page could be a mistake … but still, any hint that he might be in the film — very likely in the role of The Riddler — is great news to me. Let’s keep our fingers and toes crossed that this IMDB hint turns into the real deal very soon.

At the start of this month we saw a few bloody photos of hottie actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt on the NYC set of his new film currently in production Premium Rush. The photos that we saw a few weeks ago were not staged for the film, they featured JGL‘s real-life injuries when a scene he was filming went terribly wrong. Today we get to see new photos of JGL on set and this time, thankfully, homie managed to remain uninjured:

I’m telling you … Joseph Gordon-Levitt has a million dollar smile. When he busts out that trademark ear to ear smile, you can’t help but love the guy. I’ve grown increasingly more fond of JGL‘s work and seeing him in Inception has just endeared him to be to the nth degree. I am really hoping that those rumors that he might play The Riddler in the next Batman film turn out to be true. I am really looking forward to great things from our boy Joe.
