Nearly two weeks after Miley Cyrus quit Twitter, John Mayer sounds off what he has in mind about her abrupt departure from the micro-blogging site. To MTV News the rock singer shares, “I think she’s smart enough to realize there is some interference of the brain that she doesn’t want to deal with. Artists have enough to deal with.” “She’s a child, she’s a fantastic artist – I think there’s enough mental real estate being taken up by dealing with all of that stuff,” John continues stating. “For whatever reason, I am old enough and smart enough to tell someone to go fuck themselves if they tell me to go fuck myself. I think if you’re in Miley’s situation, it might take a little too much time to play goalie for your own heart and mind. So I totally get it.” “Miley is somebody who’s made a bunch of money doing something she loves. Most people do things they hate, for less money. If somebody can re-purpose something that somebody loves doing for a lot of money, in order to make a little bit of that money, they’re gonna do it,” John goes on explaining. “So nobody hates Miley Cyrus; they’re just picking up on her brand, re-purposing it, to try to make a little bit of Miley cash. It’s damaging people’s minds. Imagine Shannen Doherty with a Twitter account, back in the ‘90210′ days. That would’ve just flat-out killed her.” Asked if he has ever thought of deleting his Twitter account, John jokingly tells MTV News, “I would rather tell the world to eat my asshole before I would delete my Twitter account.” Miley Cyrus deleted her Twitter account in a sudden on Wednesday, October 7 and provided no single explanation for fans. She later on released a YouTube video in which she rapped her reason for quitting the popular social networking site, citing the need for privacy.

HMMM … when Mayer says that Miley is a child, he is absolutely correct … I don’t know that I agree with much more, tho. It’s very clear that he is a big Twitter lover (in fact, it is reported that his fervent tweeting is what killed his relationship with Jennifer Aniston earlier this year) and it’s obvs that he loves talking about it as much as possible. I love that John is sticking up for Miley Cyrus tho … in the grand scheme of life it’s such a non-issue but to have John Mayer chime in with his $0.02 makes all the difference in the world.

It’s not the first time Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer have reunited after a split, but the couple are simply “enjoying their friendship,” says a source close to the singer. “They’ve been talking for a while – they’re very friendly.” Adds another source, “They’ve remained close.” The duo recently spent a night together late last month at New York City’s Bowery Hotel. “Jen was there on the arm of John and they were all very lovey,” says an onlooker. “She was in casual clothing as was he, and she seemed very comfortable around his crowd of friends.” Aniston, 40, and Mayer, 31, first called it quits in August 2008, only to reunite months later for a short time – and then split once again in March after a very public appearance together at the Oscars. At the time of their most recent split, a source told PEOPLE, “Jen got her feelings very hurt and she is done with John for good. They have no contact for now.” Reps could not be reached for comment.

Interesting … it sounds like Mr. Mayer has got a heaping dose of something that Ms. Aniston can’t live without. Whether these two are just enjoying a new round of booty callin’ or they are serious about fostering a real relationship together, I have to say that I am thrilled that Mayerston appear to be back together. They are such a fun celeb couple … one day they’re hiding from the cameras, the next day they’re mugging for the cameras … it’s always a fun time with Mayerston! It turns out that Mayer was arrested on May 26, 2001 in Atlanta, GA for driving with a suspended license (see what I mean about those traffic violations piling up and becoming serious offenses?) and was booked and mug shotted. Because TMZ won the bet, Mayer agreed to pay the $25k which will be split between 2 animal charities. I dunno why Mayer thought that TMZ wouldn’t find the mug shot … even if TheSmokingGun.com beat them to the punch, he should’ve known that TMZ is really good at sniffing out mug shots. At least the money is going to a good cause … so it’s the needy animals that really come out the winners here.

John posted a tweet on his official Twitter profile last night explaining that he went with Rob to the hospital after they left the club … apparently Mr. Dyrdek had to have his stomach pumped and the contents were worthy of applause:

In triage at Cedars with @robdyrdek. When the contents of his stomach hit that silicon bag and we all saw it, we just broke into applause.

You know you’re a good friend when you not only take care to help carry your drunken buddy out of a club and to the hospital but to be there when he gets his stomach pumped … that’s a bro right there. Well done, John!

At last, the mystery is solved. Now we now know how Mayer is able to get all the hot chicks to flock to him. It seems clear to me that no woman would be able to deny a man with sweet moves like this. I mean, he gets bonus points for flexibility alone! Don’t you think that John Mayer is such a ladykiller? Please Mayer, don’t hurt ‘em.

Now, I realize that John Mayer has got made love for his fans but I dunno … I’m not sure I’d sniff anything that was thrown at me from a random stranger. That mankini could’ve been worn by anybody. The cruelest joke ever would be if someone tossed John’s own mankini on stage for him to sniff — blaurgh! That’s fan devotion right there.

I have to admit, this cruise thing sounds really fun and I’m sure it’s a real treat for John Mayer fans to get to enjoy a cruise with him. The fact that he performs every single night is just … brilliant! I’m not a huge John Mayer fan musically (tho, I do like many of his songs) but I can see how big fans would love an event like this. Trust me, if Tori Amos did this sort of thing you better believe I’d be there year after year.

I do love that John Mayer is such a good sport. You gotta hand it to the guy, he seems really fun. Love him or hate him, John Mayer does his thing and he has as much fun with his celebrity as he can. I have to respect the man for that. I may not always agree with his take on things but I do appreciate his sense of humor. Oh and by the way, his legs ain’t half bad. I think they may actually be nicer than Jake Gyllenhaal’s.

People claiming to be friends of the actress have told Star magazine that she finished the affair after discovering Mayer, 31, spent hours on the networking website, despite telling her he was too busy to get in touch with her. The pair started dating in April 2008, but have broken up several times. However, they appeared inseparable at the Oscars last month. A source claimed Aniston decided Mayer was not committed enough to her and called time on their romance having found hourly updates on his Twitter page. The source said: “John suddenly stopped calling her or returning her emails and when she would finally catch up with him, he’d say: ‘I’ve been so busy with work. I’m sorry I haven’t had time to call you back.” The source added: “Jen was fuming. There he was, telling her he didn’t have time for her and yet his page was filled with Twitter updates. Every few hours, sometimes minutes, he’d update with some stupid line. And in her mind, she was like ‘He has time for all this Twittering, but he can’t send me a text, an email, make a call?’.” It has also been claimed musician John made no attempt to cover up his Twitters. The source said: “He didn’t even deny it. He knew he was avoiding her. So when she called him on it and ended things, he just said OK, and that he was sorry it didn’t work out. “He took the break-up like a man.” Even so, shortly after Aniston’s call, Mayer’s Twitter update read: ‘This heart didn’t come with instructions.’

LOL! Man, as much as I wish this report was true, I’m afraid that it’s prolly a bit too ridiculous to be totally true … right? Anyone that follows John Mayer on Twitter knows that he is an avid tweeter and does post many times a day. If he truly did chose Twitter over Jennifer Aniston then he prolly deserved to get dumped. My guess is that the truth is prolly somewhere in the middle … he tweeted a lot and she hated it a lot … and then dunzo. This might be the first reported case of celebrity break-up due to Twitter-related complications … which is really sad. I just hope that this report doesn’t turn people off to using Twitter … I love it and can’t get enough — a fact that David is well aware of and is fine with … I think :)

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer may have called it quits. That’s the rumor I’m hearing. A source says that the pair’s on-again, off-again relationship may have ended when Aniston returned from overseas, where she was promoting Marley & Me. She returned sometime within the last week. “He broke up with her when she got back from her European tour,” the source said. Aniston’s rep did not immediately comment. Mayer’s rep declined to comment on the singer’s personal life. And what are their friends saying? One pal warns that we shouldn’t be quick to assume the two are through for good. As we know, this wouldn’t be the first time they’ve gone their separate ways. Aniston recently opened up about love and romance to the U.K. magazine You. “Who ever said that every relationship has to last forever? That’s hoping too much,” said Aniston, who turned 40 exactly a month ago. “I think every relationship is a world unto itself.” As for finding the perfect partner, she said, “I don’t have one and I don’t think it exists.”

HMMM … I can believe it. Malkin goes on to report that Jen is headed for an extended stint in NYC to film a new movie with Jason Bateman while John is staying here in SoCal to work on his next album. It makes sense that the couple might call things off for a while … and either get back into it again in a few months or go their separate ways. I don’t know why but I kinda like the idea of Mayerston together. It’s nice to see Jennifer Aniston smile again like she means it … you could see that when she was with John. I’m not entirely willing to stick a spork into Mayerston for good just yet … but I can believe that they might be on a break. I gotta say … I was very bummed to see that Madonna showed up at the VF party sans her much younger beau Jesus Luz. I was really hoping she and her boytoy would walk the red carpet together and set the gossips afire with her brazen brash & sassiness. Boo. On the plus side, tho, Jennifer Aniston was happy to cozy up to her beau John Mayer for the cameras … tho, the couple did not make a scene on the red carpet in full view of all of the cameras … they saved their canoodling for inside the shindig. While many folks make the rounds on Oscar night and hit up as many parties as they can, the folks who get an invite to the Vanity Fair party make sure to make an appearance and some end up staying all night long … it’s that good. I’m sure a great time was had by all … now that we’ve got the 81st Academy Awards in the can, I’m sure many folks were rearin’ to get to the celebratin’ (or the drownin’ ones sorrows in free booze … like Brangelina). See, there really ain’t no bizznazz like showbiz.
