'Modern Family' and 'Mad Men' take home the big awards
The 2010 Emmy Awards Are Handed Out

Last night at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles, CA the 62nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out on LIVE TV in a telecast that offered some entertainment, lots of surprises and a bit of disappointment. Here are a few photos of some of the attendees of last night’s Emmy Awards as they made their grand arrivals on the red carpet:

As for the show itself, well, overall I was a bit underwhelmed by what we were given. I thought Jimmy Fallon did a fairly good job as host but much of the show was tedious and annoying. The announcer who wouldn’t shut up as the night progressed really got on my nerves. They need to get rid of him, like, seriously. I really enjoyed Jimmy‘s musical interludes and I really enjoyed the show’s Glee-themed opening number. In case you missed it or just want to watch it again, you can do so after the jump …

Neil Patrick Harris Wins 2, Betty White Wins 1
The 2010 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Are Handed Out

Yesterday afternoon the 2010 Creative Arts Emmy Awards were handed out in a ceremony held at the Nokia Theater in downtown LA, CA much to the delight of a few of our fave television actors. Neil Patrick Harris, who we learned last week will be welcoming the birth of twin babies this October, managed to win two of the awards handed out yesterday and our beloved Golden Girl Betty White nabbed a trophy for her hosting performance on Saturday Night Live last Spring. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals yesterday (loving Mary Lynn Rajskub and Mad Men‘s Christina Hendricks in her sexy Christian Siriano dress) and some deets about who won what:

She won for being naughty on the subject of muffins, and he won – twice – for singing and dancing. Betty White’s Facebook-generated Saturday Night Live hosting gig and Neil Patrick Harris’s turns as Tonys host and special guest star on Glee landed both veteran TV stars in the winners’ circle at Saturday night’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. Though White, 88, was not at the Nokia Theater to collect her prize (her Snickers ad was also up for TV’s highest honor), presenters John Lithgow and Clyde Phillips accepted on her behalf. Meanwhile, Harris, 37, was present and accounted for … Harris, who also thanked his partner and (co-parent-to-be) David Burtka, is up for a best supporting actor in a series, for How I Met Your Mother, at next Sunday’s Primetime Emmy Awards. Saturday’s other winners also included Jaime Oliver’s Food Revolution (best reality series), previous Emmy-winning Survivor host Jeff Probst (best reality-show host) and Ann-Margret, for her guest -starring role on Law and Order: SVU. The ad firm Weiden + Kennedy also received a Creative Arts Emmy for its Old Spice commercial, whose star, Isaiah Mustafa, told the Hollywood Reporter before the ceremony, “This is my first awards show, and I get to be nominated alongside Betty White!”

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards don’t usually get this much attention but considering the caliber of nominees this year, it’s no wonder this news is making a big splash. The big Emmy Awards are next week … but these Creative Arts Emmys are getting major attention. After the jump, check out a few photos of some of the winners at this year’s Creative Arts Emmys

The only TV show to win 2 awards at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards
‘Dexter’ Walks Away With 2 Golden Globe Awards

Congratulations are in order today for Michael C. Hall and John Lithgow for each winning a Golden Globe Award (Hall for Best Male Performance for Drama Television Series and Lithgow for Best Supporting Performance by an Actor in a TV Series) last night. Each man gave an utterly AMAZING performance all season long last year on Dexter and not only did themselves proud but also did the show very, very proud:

When last we saw co-stars Hall and Lithgow together, they were discussing the events that took place during the shocking season finale ep of the 4th season of Dexter … so it’s nice to see them side-by-side again in this way. The only award that Dexter was nominated for that they didn’t win was Best Drama Series (which is a damn shame, I think) but, again, these men truly did the series proud and their wins are much deserved. MCH has been nominated 4 times and this was his first, overdue, win. After the jump, watch video of each man giving their acceptance speech at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards last night …

Michael C. Hall & John Lithgow Discuss The Season 4 Finale Of ‘Dexter’

Immediately after Showtime aired the SHOCKING season 4 finale of Dexter on Sunday night, they aired an 11-minute conversation between actors Michael C. Hall and John Lithgow wherein they discussed the finale ep and the parts of Dexter season 4 as a whole. Now, that conversation is available for viewing online. Here are a few screencaps from the chat … be warned, tho, Michael C. Hall is sporting a very disconcerting shaved head:

These two actors are absolutely amazing and, thankfully, they’ve each been nominated for Golden Globe Awards this year. After the jump, watch the full video of their conversation but first, another warning: DO NOT watch the clip if you have still not seen the season finale of Dexter and wish to remain unspoiled …

I guess this 'Broadway Thing' is actually gonna happen
Katie Holmes’s ‘Sons’ About To Shine

The poster artwork for the new Broadway production of Arthur Millers‘s All My Sons has been put on display outside the Schoenfeld Theatre in NYC. As you may know, All My Sons will feature Katie Holmes in her Broadway debut, alongside co-stars Dianne Wiest, John Lithgow and Patrick Wilson. Here are a few pics of the new poster artwork for the show:

Katie Holmes’s Broadway premiere is just around the corner, and her play bill image is ready to go. The poster for the revival of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons simply highlights the actress, along with costars John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson. The family drama premieres Oct. 16, with previews beginning Sept. 18.

I find it curious that Tom Cruise made it a point of contention that now that Katie is married to him that she would no longer be referred to professionally as Katie but instead as Kate Holmes. But this new poster, for her Broadway debut, clearly credits her as “Katie Holmes“. In any event, I’m not sure if the world is ready for Katie to take on Broadway but … here she comes anyways. Do any of y’all think she can handle it?
