Last weekend, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden got married in a lavish yet intimate ceremony at the Richie mansion in Beverly Hills, CA and today we get our first look at the first wedding photo released from the nuptials. As you may recall, Nic/Joel sold their wedding photos to the highest bidder and plan to donate the money to their favorite charity. Today we learn that People magazine was the highest bidder … behold:

Ever since she was a little girl, there were two things Nicole Richie wanted on the day she married: a show-stopper dress inspired by Grace Kelly’s iconic wedding gown, and a real live elephant for good luck. Both her wishes came true as she married Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden at her father Lionel Richie’s home on Dec. 11. They tied the knot in front of their children – Harlow, 2, was the flower girl, while 15-month-old Sparrow was the ring-bearer – under a tent transformed to resemble a French garden. “It was magical,” Richie, 29, tells PEOPLE. Adds Madden, 31: “It was the best night of my life.”

The night was so magical that Nicole couldn’t wear just one wedding dress … she had to wear 3 different Marchesa dresses. The dress featured above was made out of 100 yards of hand-draped silk organza and tulle petals. As far as I know, Joel wore only one tuxedo … but if I know my boy Joel, he rocked that bad boy right! All of the photos from Nicole and Joel‘s wedding will be featured in the new issue of People magazine, on stands this week. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy … I want to see more.

Congratulations are in order for longtime couple Nicole Richie and Joel Madden because the pair got themselves HITCHED last night! As we learned earlier in the week, Nic/Joel planned to get married in a lavish ceremony at Nicole‘s parents home in Beverly Hills, CA and yesterday was the big day. Joel and Nicole are officially Mr. and Mrs. now ;D

She’s a blushing bride no more. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden became a married couple Saturday night in Beverly Hills, RadarOnline.com has confirmed. With dad Lionel Richie – her rock of support – and friends including Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Kris Jenner and Samantha Ronson in attendance, Nicole was a stunningly beautiful bride as she took Joel’s hand in marriage. Music legend Quincy Jones, her dad’s good friend and Nicole’s godfather, arrived just before she walked down the aisle. Other guests were brought in by shuttle van from the nearby Beverly Hills Hotel … an elephant named Tai was part of the celebration and hundreds of red roses supplied by florist to the stars Mark’s Garden, decorated the tables … Joel’s Good Charlotte twin brother Benji, was reportedly the best man. Nicole and Joel’s children Harlow and Sparrow were also part of the celebration.

Yay!! At last … at looooong last :) Nic/Joel have been happily attached for years and two children … and now they are officially man and wife. I couldn’t be more thrilled for the both of them. They truly are among the most loving couples in Hollywood and they are each so deserving of the other. They have been one of my fave Hollywood couples for years now … it’s just really fantastic to hear of their continued happiness together. Earlier this week we read a report about rumored plans for Nicole Richie and Joel Madden‘s wedding, which is said to be taking place today, and today we get to see a couple photos of Nic/Joel running around SoCal individually taking care of a few last-minute wedding deets:

I’m quite certain the big, important stuff was being handled by professional wedding planners and their lackeys but I’m also certain that there are a few personal things that Nicole and Joel want to handle themselves. It’s unclear when today exactly the couple will say their I Dos but it won’t be long now. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden will very soon become Mr. & Mrs.

Back in September we got to see photos from Nicole Richie‘s 29th birthday/Bachelorette party which took place in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico but back then, we weren’t at all certain when Nicole and fiancee Joel Madden were planning to be married. In recent weeks, we began hearing reports of a December wedding and this week it was widely circulated that the couple were planning to be wed this weekend … then the event planning trucks started to show up and the tents started to be erected at the Richie family mansion. E! New‘s Marc Malkin is now spillin’ all the deets that he knows about concerning Nic/Joel‘s upcoming weekend wedding:

Nicole Richie has just a few days left as a single woman. The starlet will tie the knot with her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden this Saturday at her father Lionel Richie’s Beverly Hills estate. Richie will reportedly wear a Marchesa dress when she walks down the aisle. The bride-to-be and her close friend and personal stylist Simone Harouche went to a fitting last week with Marchesa in NYC. “It went very well,” a source tells us. A source familiar with the wedding prep says Richie wanted to keep the guest list limited to the closest friends and family. Part of the reason? While her dad’s mansion boasts 28 rooms, space on the grounds is actually limited. Just [Wednesday] morning, rental trucks were seen arriving at the gates of Lionel’s mansion where ladders and other preparation equipment could be seen in the driveway. Celeb guests will include Joel’s brother Benji, along with friends Samantha Ronson and Khloé Kardashian. Kim Kardashian and Richie’s former BFF Paris Hilton will apparently not be in attendance.

At last … at long last … Nicole and Joel are finally ready to take that walk down the aisle together. It seems like only yesterday that we first heard that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden had coupled up … it was like a dream come true for me. Two of my fave celebs had found love together … it couldn’t get more perfect than that. Then the couple gave birth to their adorable daughter Harlow Winter Kate (who would make a perfect flower girl) … then came their son, Sparrow Midnight James (the perfect ring bearer) … and now, the I Dos. I couldn’t be more thrilled for Nic/Joel, really.

Twin brothers and Good Charlotte bandmates, who just released their latest album Cardiology last week, are featured in the new issue of Inked magazine. In their joint interview, the Madden brothers talk about their close relationship with their fans and, of course, talk about some of the tattoos that they’ve gotten inked on their bodies. Joel professes his love for his “terrible” dragon tattoo … which Benji thinks looks more like a sea horse:

Joel talks about life changes and his newest influence: “My kids. But I don’t know that they’ve changed our music. The family has given me some different things to write about and you can hear it in some songs, and they definitely make me work harder.”

Joel talks about how he feels closer to his fans: “It’s weird how 10 years after our first record, we’re closer to our fans than we’ve ever been because of things like Twitter. WE talk to our fans every day. It’s cool. Our whole career was built off of our relationship with our fans. Back in the day I would write them letters.”

Benji compares the decision to change producers to getting a new tattoo: “If you’re going to get a tattoo and you don’t fucking like the drawing, don’t get that shit. You know? Like, you learn, as you get older. When you get tattooed you kind of learn how it works. I don’t want to laser any tattoos off — I’m not going to. So if you’re going to put a record out, you fucking better back that shit. Once it’s out there, it’s out there. So it is kind of like a tattoo. You got to go with your guy.”

Joel on his favorite tattoo: “I like a lot of my old, shitty ones because they remind me of a really good, innocent time in my life.”

Joel: “When I was like, 18 I got a horrible, horrible dragon on my leg. It’s terrible but it’s awesome!”
Benji: “You mean the sea horse?”
Joel: “Whenever we’re standing around with new people comparing tattoos I’m like, ‘Oh yeah? Check this one out!’ It’s such a terrible dragon that it’s a really cool tattoo.”

In the wake of so many suicides by GLBT youth due to bullying in recent weeks a bunch of celebrities have banded together or filmed videos on their own to spread the message of hope to the young people who fell hopeless. Much like Dave Navarro did on his official website last week, all kinds of celebs have decided to speak out in order to spread hope. A flurry of It Gets Better videos have been popping up recently in an effort to spread the message as far and wide as possible. This message that life gets better is so important because it is so easy for young people who feel hopeless and alone to think that no one understands what they are going thru as they figure out who they are … even worse, many believe that they are unloved, unwanted and will not be missed if they decide to take their own lives. It is my sincere hope that these messages of hope can reach the people who need to hear them the most. Yesterday I reported that Nicole Richie celebrated her 29th birthday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (after she celebrated her bachelorette party there over the weekend) with a few of her closest lady friends but it turns out that that was not the case. Yes, Nicole and her girls celebrated her bacheloretteness over the weekend but it turns out that Nicole flew home to SoCal to spend her birthday yesterday with her boys. Here is a cute pic of Nicole out yesterday with her beau Joel Madden and their son Sparrow James Midnight:

So while Nicole wanted to be in Cabo with her friends for her bachelorette party, it’s clear that she really wanted to be home, sweet, home with her family for her birthday. I suspect that she will be celebrating her nuptials in the very near future but for her birthday, it looks like she wanted to keep things nice, intimate and quiet. Sounds like she had a great birthday to me.

I love these guys so much … and I love that they are now moving into the fashion world. Joel‘s #1 lady Nicole Richie has already launched her own clothing (Winter Kate) and jewelry line (House of Harlow 1960) so now it’s his turn to have his fashion say. Joel Madden, frontman for his band Good Charlotte and avid Twitter user, is pretty fond of sharing his personal photos on his official Twitter account and this weekend some of those photos have been culled together by People magazine. Here are some of the photos that Joel has shared with us all along with commentary tweets that he wrote for each photo:

“So a few weeks ago we were in PHILLY. One place I consider a home away from home,” Waldorf, Md., native Joel Madden Tweeted about a recent trip back East with Nicole Richie. “We saw the Phillies/O’s game. The O’s won of course….Still @nicolerichie had to root for against me!”

While in Philadelphia, the couple took daughter Harlow to the city’s 135-year-old zoo, the first in America. “Harlow really enjoyed the Hippos. Nicole somehow found a way convince Harlow that I am a gorilla,” Madden lamented.

Madden’s twin Benji finds himself the subject of Richie’s teasing, like when she posted THIS photo of the Good Charlotte guitarist. “Just walked in on @benjaminmadden posing like this in front of my 2 dogs. Ummmmmmmm…..”

Aww … love these photos! Joel Madden (as well as his brothers Josh and Benji) are the realest guys you will ever meet. I love that they are all so willing to share so much of themselves with fans. Twitter is such a great way to “get to know” the celebs that you may be a fan of and I can assure you, what you see/read from the Maddens is what you get in real life. It’s very clear that these guys are so thankful and grateful for their lives and they seem happy to share that bliss with the world. Here are a couple of really cute pics of daddy Joel Madden with his babygirl Harlow Winter after they did a bit of shopping at The Grove here in LA this past Monday. As you can tell, Joel took his little girl to American Girl Place to pick up some toys for her but she looked most excited to be spending time with her pappy:

These two … aren’t they the cutest? I love how doting both of Harlow‘s parents are but my heart just melts whenever I see how much her daddy loves to take care of her. I ain’t gonna lie, American Girl Place creeps me the HELL out (if you’ve ever been to one, I’m certain you’ll agree) but for some reason little girls love those dolls. I’m sure it’s a very small price to pay to keep Harlow happy with all the dolls she likes … after all, her parents get to enjoy the cutest doll of all in her.
