Great news, Britney Spears fans … in addition to making an appearance in Las Vegas, NV tonight, a live performance in San Francisco, CA Sunday and a guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show next Monday, our dear Britney has booked an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live next Tuesday night … the very day that her new album Femme Fatale is released in stores. ABC happily issued a press release about Britney‘s appearance on the show, you can read it in full below.
Jake Gyllenhaal made a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to promote his new film Source Code and to give Jimmy some good natured ribbing about his style choices. In addition to promoting his movie and joking around with Kimmel, our dear Jakey poo also shared some cute stories from his recent 30th birthday party. You will never guess what Jake‘s mom got him for his birthday. Check out Jake‘s full interview with Jimmel Kimmel below.
Charlie Sheen, obviously hungry for a shot of attention, made a surprise visit on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to interrupt the show so that he could high five some audience members, kiss Jimmy Kimmel and then leave. That was pretty much the extent of Sheen‘s late night appearance last night … but it was enough to get people talking today.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted his annual post-Academy Awards episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and ended up featuring a pre-taped video skit that starred some of Hollywood’s hottest ladies and, yet, seemed to go on and on and ON for-freaking-ever. In the clip, Jimmy is parodying an infomercial for the Hottie Body Hump Club alongside ladies like Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria and, yes, even Lindsay Lohan. Check out the skit below and see for yourselves.
Hide your eyes Justin Bieber fans (and fans of his luxuriously silky, shaggy hair) … the Biebs paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and he went BALD right on the air! Apparently, Bieber was lookin’ for a new look and Kimmel was ready to give him one. Is the world ready for a totally bald Bieber?
Ryan Gosling was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and he was cajoled (not really) by Kimmel to perform the song You Always Hurt the One You Love on the ukulele on national television. As some of you may be well aware, Gosling performs You Always Hurt the One You Love in his new film Blue Valentine so his performance last night was a great way to promote the film.
As I’m sure you are well aware, the 2 1/2-hour season finale of Lost aired on ABC last night bringing a close to a story that has captured the imagination of the world for the past 6 years and while the ep did not satisfy everyone (after all, how could it?) it did manage to strike a cord with many loyal fans of the show. Because the finale ep was such a big deal, the show’s creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse filmed 3 alternate endings for the series in order to keep the real ending a complete surprise:
These alternate endings were aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night after the real season finale ending aired … but in case you missed seeing them last night, you can check them out now — after the jump
Last night the final season premiere of Lost aired on ABC to much fanfare and in celebration, Lost producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about the season 6 premiere ep and to spill some deets about the ep and the final season ahead. Cuse and Lindelof announced on the show that the series finale of Lost will air on Sunday May 23, 2010 … the other stuff they teased about could be considered very spoilery for those of you who have yet to watch last night’s ep (we’ll keep those comments behind the cut):
[Last night] “Jimmy Kimmel Live” welcomed the “Lost” executive producers and creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse in support of the last season of their hit series. At the end of the guest interview, the masterminds exclusively revealed to host Jimmy Kimmel that the “Lost” series finale will air Sunday, May 23, 2010 on ABC. “We are eternally grateful to him (Steve McPherson, President of ABC Entertainment Group) for allowing us to end the show on our own terms,” said Lindelof. “Then, on May 30 the “Hurley and the Smoke Monster” spin-off starts?” joked Kimmel.
This end date announcement came at the end of the interview but the producers talked at length about semi-spoilery, important things to look for in last night’s season 6 premiere episode. After the jump, find out what they had to say — but BE WARNED, their comments will most likely spoil things if you’ve yet to watch the ep — read on at your own risk …
Jake Gyllenhaal (who may or may not be a single man) was a guest last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his new film Brothers (which co-stars Natalie Portman and Tobey Maguire) but he also talked a bit about another new film titled Love And Other Drugs (which co-stars Anne Hathaway) which he has been working on for the past 3 months in Pittsburgh, PA. As a result of all that time spent in Pittsburgh, Jakey poo went out to get a tattoo on his lower back to show his new lurve for the Pittsburgh Steelers football team:
Fear not, little chickens … Jake‘s Steelers back tat is a fake rub-on tattoo. No word on who exactly was called up on to do the actual rubbing on of this tattoo onto his back but it sounds like a pretty damn cool job to me :) After the jump, check out video of Jake‘s first full interview with Jimmy Kimmel last night …
Depcehe Mode, who just released their latest album Sounds of the Universe on Tuesday, took over Hollywood Blvd. last night for a live performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Unfortch, I was not able to make it out for the performance but my friend and ofttimes roving reporter Darion was able to attend and he snapped a few pics for sharing here on the blog … behold:
Darion writes: Depeche Mode takes over the streets of Hollywood for Jimmy Kimmel Live
Tonight I went to see Depeche Mode with my friends Fred and Jason – we heard they were giving a free concert in Hollywood. We came upon Hollywood & Argyle to see the entire section of street completely blocked off! The city had closed several blocks around the Hollywood and Highland complex for the FREE concert! Radio stations were handing out 10,000 tickets all day! I have to give a shout out to Sarah S., thanks to her and the always amazing Pink Is The New Blog, we got into the VIP section just as the concert started. It was SO FUN! As you can see from the pics, Jimmy Kimmel kicked off the concert along with Channing Tatum, promoting his new movie Fighting – who looked so insanely hawt I think a few people fainted – and Elisha Cuthbert, who was apparently promoting her transition into becoming a man. I keed, I keed, she’s gorgeous but her outfit choice was not a good one. After they segued for the show Depeche Mode kicked it off with an AMAZING concert! From what we were told they did two songs live for the show, followed by another 30-40 minutes of performing. It was incredible! And so cool they stayed to play for the crowd instead of just doing songs for the show and taking off. My personal favorite of the night was Personal Jesus, the crowd erupted and really got into it. They also did several songs off their new album, as well as some other classics. They start a new tour this summer and ended the show with “See you soon!”. They sounded fantastic live and put on a great show – if you are a fan I definitely recommend seeing them live!!
It sounds like the live performance was incredible … I have been THOROUGHLY obsessed with Sounds of the Universe since I downloaded it on iTunes this past Tuesday. The album is totally solid, really freaking great. It has that old Depeche Mode sound but with an updated feel. While I am bummed that I missed seeing them last night, I understand the band will tour this Summer and is planning a show at the Hollywood Bowl here in LA. I am SO gonna be at that show. After the jump, check out video of DM performing the song Wrong on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night …
