She has an “angel” of a boyfriend, Dutch bass player Martyn Lenoble, “who loves me from head to toe.” She has a cozy Malibu beach house that she calls “the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.” And, after a very public battle with breast cancer that has given her a gratifying “feeling of purpose,” Christina Applegate has a new lease on life. “I used to be really shy but I started to come into my own in my late 20s and early 30s,” Applegate, 37, tells PEOPLE in the cover interview for the annual Most Beautiful issue – her first interview since her reconstructive breast surgery last November. “Now I’m not afraid to speak up in a room full of people and be a part of the conversation.” The Samantha Who? star says she’s finding balance and embracing her body after undergoing a double mastectomy in July. “You have to get through the physical transformations then buck up, go to work and try to be the normal, happy Christina for everyone around you,” she says. One source of strength has been Lenoble. “He’s been a friend for about 13 years,” Applegate says. “Our relationship gets stronger and stronger. I’m really lucky.” And, more importantly, he makes the actress feel “beautiful” about her new body. “I’m very grateful to Martyn for coming along at a time that he did because he’s been my rock through all of this,” Applegate says. “He gave me something to really want to live for and something to smile about.”

Considering the life-changing effect that enduring a double mastectomy has on a woman, I am very impressed with Christina’s attitude about her beauty (which is on full display in this issue of People magazine). I, for the life of me, cannot imagine what it must be like to survive a bout with cancer so my hat is off to her in that respect. I suppose congrats are in order for being named by People magazine as one of the 100 Most Beautiful People. But, there are 99 other folks who have been deemed beautiful by People — after the jump, check out a few of those pretty faces …

There is no denying that each one of these people is beautiful but I gotta question the selection choice of some of these photos. The 90210 girls were photographed without make-up (on purpose) but the photo is set in the harsh beach sun which makes each of the young girls look haggard. Also, I think the mag could’ve selected better photos of Robert Pattinson and Michelle Obama. Each one of them is incredibly beautiful and, yet, these photos in my opinion do not showcase their beauty at all. I do love the photo of Kristen Wiig and, of course, Tristan Wilds and Zac Efron both look supercute. I know the People magazine list of the 100 Most Beautiful People is meant to be fun and I think they generally get it right … but what do you think? If you’ve been watching 90210 this season, you should know by now (SPOILER ALERT IF YOU’VE NOT BEEN KEEPING UP) that Silver has turned all psycho stalker on boyfriend Dixon Wilson. Her erratic behavior reminds me of the character of Emily Valentine from the original Beverly Hills, 90210 who grew obsessed with Brandon Walsh and, out of desperation for him after he dumped her, set fire to the homecoming float that was parked in the Walsh driveway. HMMM … might Silver be headed for a similar storyline on the new series? Prom eps of high school dramas tend to be special affairs where something or other happens to the main characters. As you may recall, Brenda Walsh lost her virginity to Dylan McKay at her prom on the original series … but with all the sex that Silver and Dixon have been having all over the place, I don’t think we need to worry about that happening this time around. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what drama lies in store for the gang at West Beverly High this time around. I hope they make it good. Considering the drama that was brought by the original series, this show’s got some pretty big shoes to fill.

The reunion of Tori Spelling’s Donna and Jennie Garth’s Kelly on the CW’s 90210 is an attention-grabber for fans of the original drama. Put the actresses in a Rolls-Royce convertible to film a scene in the heart of Beverly Hills and the paparazzi are thrilled as well. A dozen or more photographers gathered Monday to grab shots of the pair, who starred in the 1990s Fox hit Beverly Hills 90210. Spelling is joining the CW sequel, which features Garth, for a multi-episode arc that begins airing April 14. It was the first time the CW show lived up to the 90210 zip code by filming in Beverly Hills. Spelling is used to being a paparazzi magnet. She shrugged off the attention and called it “just another day out.”

Yay! I suppose it was a bit too much to hope that Tori, Jennie and Shannen Doherty would be reunited for Tori’s first scene on the show but … I’ll take what I can get. I am SO relieved that the dispute between Tori Spelling the 90210 producers has been resolved so that she can return to the show and bring Donna Martin back to life. I’ve always contended that the dispute came down to money and I personally believe that one side or the other caved (my guess is that Tori decided to take the money they were willing to pay her). In the end, tho, Donna Martin is back … and full of botox! I’m sure Tori’s puffy face has everything to do with the role she’s playing as a Beverly Hills housewife. Uh uh. Remember, former BH, 90210 star Jason Priestly is directing this episode featuring Tori Spelling’s debut on the show … and it will air on The CW on April 14. Mark your calendars, it’s gonna be a big night for pop culture fans.

I don’t personally think that the new batch of 90210 stuff is gonna be as popular as their predecessor’s merchandise but I can’t blame them for striking while the iron is hot. I think they might want to come up with better shirt slogans than Lacrosse Players Do It Better but the Team Silver and Team Naomi shirts are cute, if not inventive. To set the scene, Dustin was snapped leaving Jessica’s place mid-afternoon this week after he enjoyed a little sleep-over at her place the night before. The couple swapped spit passionately before they had to part ways. Now, I’m sure it’s entirely possible that the couple sat up all night long braiding one another’s hair, baking cookies or some other such innocent activity but, more than likely, the two of them were bumpin’ uglies until the wee hours of the morning. In any event, it seems very likely that the two are romantically involved. Hey, if Blake Lively and Penn Badgley can have a real-life romance off the set of Gossip Girl then why can’t these two hormonal youngsters? I think it’s great that they’re found love on the set of 90210 … surely, they’re meant to stay together — forever.

Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth joined the cast of CW’s 90210 spin-off Saturday at a beachside bash to celebrate the show. The party took place on the Malibu shore – about 20 miles away from the Beverly Hills zip code, the AP reports. Doherty and Garth, who will reprise their roles as Brenda Walsh and Kelly Taylor in the new show, arrived separately. Joe E. Tata, who played Peach Pit owner Nat, also attended. Party guests expecting to get a glimpse of the show’s first episode were out of luck: The premiere was not screened. (The CW recently announced pre-broadcast copies of the series would not be distributed to TV reviewers and reporters as a “strategic marketing decision.”) Meanwhile, Garth recently said reuniting with Doherty (with whom she once got into a fistfight) wasn’t “as bad as I thought it would be. We’re both grown women, both professionals,” she told TV Guide. “Once we were working, it felt like a good fit.”

Tori Spelling, who continues to get the shaft from the new 90210 was, obvs, not in attendance at last night’s affair. Again, I’m excited at the prospect of the new show but I fear that expectations may be too high. I understand why the show’s producers are keeping the first ep under wraps until the series premieres next week but … I dunno, can it really live up to the hype? There are a lot of fond memories about the original show … I dunno if anything can really measure up.

The “It” Girls were in attendance as were the new kids on the block — members of the cast of 90210 made last night’s Teen Choice Awards their unofficial coming out party to hang with the cool kids. Oh, Mariah … you are so cute thinkin’ you can dress like a teen at your age ;) I’m not at all surprised that Mimi deigned to not only attend this year’s Teen Choice Awards but to perform as well … especially when you consider that she met her child-husband, Nick Cannon, at the Teen Choice Awards back in 2005. But the night was really about this year’s winners so here are a few pics of some of the folks who took home Teen Choice Surfboards last night:

The Jonas Brothers and the CW hit Gossip Girl were the big winners at Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards. Both took home six awards each. Gossip Girl was honored for choice TV drama, breakout show, breakout male actor (Chace Crawford), breakout female and TV drama actress (Blake Lively) and TV villain (Ed Westwick). The Jonas Brothers won for choice breakout group, love song, music single, song of the summer, male red carpet fashion icons and male hotties. “Last year we were here presenting, and to be back a year later and to be up for seven awards, that’s really, really crazy!” Nick Jonas told Usmagazine.com. “We are so blessed, and our fans are incredible, and we love it.” Miley Cyrus — who scored three awards — hosted the show, which airs tonight at 8 p.m. (ET) on Fox. Lauren Conrad won choice TV female reality star. “It’s really cool,” she told Us. “It came from people who watch you every week and relate to you.” She told Us she’ll keep her award “with my mom in Laguna. She has a room for them.” Heroes star Hayden Panettiere was honored as choice TV action-adventure actress and David Beckham as choice male athlete. His son Cruz stole the show, however, when he started break dancing on stage after his dad accepted his award. David said he didn’t teach his son those moves. “He went on tour for six months with his mom,” he told Us, “so maybe he learned from her!”

And speaking of the little ham, here are a couple pics of Becks on stage accepting his award and his sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz who he brought on stage with him … natch, Cruz had to upstage his older brothers by throwin’ down some bitchin’ dance moves:

Please tell me this wasn’t intentional!
