Jessica Alba Is The New Face Of Campari For 2009

Raise your glass
Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Jessica Alba has been named the official spokesperson for the famed 2009 Campari Calendar following in the footsteps of previous Campari spokesmodels Salma Hayek, Eva Mendes among others. Here are a few pics from Jessica’s new Campari Calendar campaign called Club Campari, shot by photographer Mario Testino, and some info about the new campaign:

From the press release: Campari® unveils today its 2009 worldwide multimedia campaign and Campari Calendar: “Club Campari”— set in a distinctive oceanside destination, where sensuality and temptation prevail in a sophisticated, but playful atmosphere. The “Club Campari” initiative features world-renowned actress Jessica Alba and her interpretation of “Red Passion,” captured by the lens of acclaimed photographer Mario Testino and legendary director Jean Paul Goude. The brilliant collaboration of these three notable talents resulted in seventeen snapshots, one international television commercial and a unique online experience. In addition, thirteen of Mario Testino’s shots will appear in a limited edition calendar, of which only 9,999 copies are printed and distributed internationally. “Mario’s and Jean-Paul Goude’s visions made it very easy to embody the Club Campari femme fatale,” said Jessica Alba. “It was the first time I have ever worked with Campari, Mario and Jean Paul: they make you look like you can only imagine in your wildest dreams, I am a huge fan of their work and I look forward to working with them again.” In this exciting and alluring atmosphere, Jessica Alba, as the centrepiece of the campaign, provides a provocative look into a world of sophisticated beauty. Mario Testino was selected as photographer for the Campari Calendar and print campaign for the second time, after the tremendous success of the 2007 initiative “Hotel Campari,” starring Salma Hayek. Testino masterfully found a new way to evoke Red Passion through Jessica Alba’s explosive mix of beauty, sophistication and joie de vivre. Club Campari is also interpreted through Jean Paul Goude’s dramatic creativity and imagination, which are evident in the core of the campaign and the filmed commercial. “I like to suggest desire and it is essential to me that actors perform naturally, like in real life,” said Goude. “Spontaneity is everything. The spontaneity of a speech, the right gesture, the right glance, the right movement, all add depth to the story to be told,” he explains. The Club Campari concept draws its inspiration from the most exclusive clubs on the planet: fun, cosmopolitan and social. Bob Kunze-Concewitz, CEO of Gruppo Campari, stated that, “The style, elegance and class, which differentiate Campari’s communication, focus on three fundamental themes brought to life in Club Campari: passion, sophistication and cosmopolitanism.” “Red Passion” is the “fil rouge;” the shared attribute linking each different edition of the Campari Calendar, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year. Since the first Calendar came out in 2000, Campari has collaborated with internationally renowned photographers. Through their creative art, they have rendered the brand’s innate sensuality and passion, unique and palpable. Each Calendar star, including Salma Hayek and Eva Mendes, has succeeded in capturing Campari’s characteristics distinctively through her fascinating allure and beauty.

She looks pretty saucy in these pics … Jessica really only has a few sexy poses but Mario Testino really knows how to capture her hawtness. The pics are fun and I think Jessica makes a very great spokesmodel for the new 2009 Campari Calendar campaign. After the jump, check out a few more photos from the 2009 calendar and read a new Q&A with Jessica about this Campari campaign …

Honor Marie & Cash Warren Make Jessica Alba Smile

They said it couldn't be done!
Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Here are a couple of ADORABLE pics of Jessica Alba walking hand-in-hand with her hot (and bearded) hubby Cash Warren as she toted her only begotten child Honor Marie all bundled snug in her baby carrier on the streets of NYC this weekend. You will note, much to y’all surprise I’m sure, that Jessica looks unmiserable, is smiling and actually looks … wait for it … happy — behold:

It’s a rare sight to see Jessica not scowling with misery and actually looking happy and contented with life. I guess even the usually glower-faced Jessica can’t hide the happiness brought into her life by her new husband and her baby girl all the time. These three really make a pretty family … and Honor Marie is already growing so big! Glad to see them lookin’ so happy … hopefully we’ll get to see more of it.

‘Filth & Wisdom’ Premieres In NYC

The stars come out for Madonna's new movie
Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

Madonna brought out all the celebs in the vicinity of Manhattan Island to the premiere of her new film Filth & Wisdom which took place at the Landmark Sunshine Theater in New York, NY last night (it looks like Lindsay Lohan ditched the tore up leggings that she wore to the in-store launch of her 6126 leggings line earlier in the evening for this premiere event). You may recall that Maddy first screened her film back in February at the Berlin Film Festival but there has been nary a peep said about the film … until now. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals at last night’s premiere of Filth & Wisdom:

When Filth & Wisdom was screened in Berlin earlier this year it was reported that the film would not be released in traditional movie theaters and would, instead, be released via “new media” (ie. online only). I’m not sure if that is still the plan but it might be the wiser course of action should Madonna want to avoid getting skewered by the traditional movie review press … or by the movie-going audience as a whole (the film has not been getting good reviews from the handful of folks who have seen it already). Why Madonna continues to make movies is beyond me … at least she doesn’t star in this one, that should be a plus, yes?

On the fashion tip, Madge gets points for her interesting footwear. I’m not a gun fan but her heels are kinda hot. Lindsay loses major points for going out in public with her un-spray-tanned feet. If you’re gonna fake your tan, Linds, you should make sure that you fake tan your whole entire body in order to avoid embarrassing moments like this one. Jessica Alba, Cash Warren and Marc Jacobs looked pretty standard and Chace Crawford looked pretty dressed up at last night’s event. I much prefer his boyish casual dress to this overly primped look. Oh, who am I kidding … the guy is a stunner no matter how he’s dressed. Soo … having heard all the buzz about Filth & Wisdom — any takers?

Honor Marie Doesn’t Like The Paparazzi

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree
Monday, October 6th, 2008

Here are a couple of ADORABLE pics of Jessica Alba taking her baby daughter Honor Marie on a little shopping excursion to Maxfield over the weekend. As you can tell, it appears that Honor doesn’t like being photographed and she stuck out her tongue in protest:

Oh yeah, she is deffo her mother’s daughter. My guess is that Honor will inherit her mother’s distaste for paparazzi attention … she’s got the tongue sticking out already down pat. Irregardless of whether or not the little darling grows up with Jessica’s crabby disposition, you just know that she is going to be the cutest little girl ever. Look at those cheeks!! Soooo cute ;)

‘Snatch It Up’ With Jessica Alba

'Declare Yourself' offers a cheeky new faux infomercial
Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Yesterday we saw the two campaign ads that Jessica Alba features in for the nonprofit organization Declare Yourself (which aims to get young people registered to vote), one of which showed Jessica wearing a Hannibal Lecter-like muzzle mask which was meant to illustrate the notion that “only you can silence yourself” by not registering to vote. Today we get to check out a short promo vid put out by Declare Yourself that carries on the “muzzle” theme and features not only Jessica but Heroes star Hayden Panettiere and 90210 star Tristan Wilds:

This vid is cheeky and far less threatening than the controversial poster artwork, I think. A few Pink readers commented that they were very turned off by the images in the Declare Yourself poster artwork … I’m curious to hear what folks think about this tongue-in-cheek vid.

‘Only You Can Silence Yourself’

Jessica Alba advises you to 'Declare Yourself'
Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Jessica Alba shocked the world a few weeks ago by appearing in a controversial new ad campaign for the Declare Yourself organization. Declare Yourself is a nonpartisan, nonprofit campaign aiming to empower every eligible American, 18-to-29 years old, to register to vote in the 2008 presidential election. They enlist celebrity spokespeople to help raise awareness in order to get young voters registered to vote. Jessica’s first ad campaign for the organization, released a few weeks ago, featured her wrapped in black electrical tape that particularly was placed over her mouth:

From the accompanying press release: Declare Yourself, the national nonpartisan, nonprofit youth voter initiative is launching a powerful print and viral campaign aimed at energizing young adults to register and vote in the 2008 election. The campaign, entitled, “Only You Can Silence Yourself,” features Jessica Alba (The Fantastic Four, Sin City) in a series of images by renowned photographer Marc Liddell. The striking photographs feature Alba quite literally silenced—with gags and masks stifling her voice as a citizen. The photos are available for download at www.DeclareYourself.com, and can be circulated virally; they will also be featured in national publications this fall. “I really don’t see the point in not registering to vote,” said Alba. “We sign up for MySpace pages and Facebook pages, and download music off the internet. The least people can do is register to vote online, actually making a difference in their world, not just making their lives a little bit cooler. It makes more sense to spend your time making a change in society—and it actually doesn’t take that much time! It takes more time to make a music playlist than it does to register to vote.” “Young adults are inundated with messages,” said Marc Morgenstern, Declare Yourself Executive Director. “This campaign is designed to break through and inspire young people to seize their role in the future of our country by registering and voting. We are deeply grateful to Jessica for lending her voice to this important movement.”

I have to say that I wholly support this organizations work towards educating young people of the importance of registering to vote. Voting is such an important right that so many Americans take for granted … and it is imperative that eligible folks GET REGISTERED to vote so that they have have a say in the governance of our country. Even if you aren’t sure who to vote for yet, you MUST GET REGISTERED IN TIME otherwise you will not be allowed to vote once you do make up your mind as the election nears. The deadlines to register in many states are very close at hand (this week, in some states) so it’s IMPERATIVE for folks to get registered. If images like these catch the attention and urge people to register than I am all for it. Declare Yourself released a second, possibly more, controversial ad featuring Jessica Alba last night. After the jump, check it out for yourself …

Miss Honor Comes Out To Play

... well, squint
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Here are a few new cute pics of Jessica Alba stepping out in the bright SoCal sun this week with her baby girl Honor Marie … altho she’s lookin’ cute in her sassy bib and adorable bow, la niña Honor looks like she ain’t havin’ none of it:

The little tyke’s scowl isn’t quite as menacing but you can already see her resemblance to her often grouchy mamacita. In any event, this baby is cute, y’all.
