MJ's Children, Family & Justin Bieber Honor The Late King of Pop
Michael Jackson ‘Immortal’ized At Grauman’s Chinese Theater

At the start of this month, we learned that the late Michael Jackson was to be immortalized in cement in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA to kick off the 3-week LA residency of Michael Jackson: The Immortal Tour by Cirque Du Soleil. The big hand/footprint ceremony took place yesterday and featured MJ‘s 3 children — Prince Michael Joseph, Paris Michael Katherine and Prince Michael Joseph Blanket Jackson — doing the honor of signing his name, imprinting his sequined glove and a pair of his dancing shoes in cement. Many members of the Jackson family (including his mother Katherine and his brothers Tito, Jackie, Marlon and Jermaine) were also on hand for the event yesterday, alongside luminaries like Quincy Jones, Smokey Robinson … and strangely, Justin Bieber. Click below to see some photos from yesterday’s event and watch video of MJ‘s children paying tribute to their late father.

Prince Michael Joseph wants to direct films, Paris Michael Katherine wants to act
Michael Jackson’s Kids Are Ready To Step Into The Public Eye

Michael Jackson‘s children Prince Michael Joseph, Paris Michael Katherine and Prince Michael Joseph, II aka Blanket appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in their first interview ever yesterday and revealed to the Big O that they hope to one day enter showbiz. Prince revealed that he wants to produce and direct films while Paris revealed that she would like to act. Blanket was a bit too shy to say much of anything but he’s still young so, I’m sure he’ll figure out what he wants to do with the rest of his life in no time. While yesterday’s episode of Oprah was airing yesterday, Jackson‘s children went out to the movies with their uncle Jermaine Jackson and their cousins Jaafar and Jermajesty here in SoCal:

Michael Jackson tried desperately to keep them out of the spotlight, but now his eldest children have revealed they want to follow his famous footsteps. In their first interview since the King of Pop’s death, Paris, 12, and Prince Michael, 13, both told Oprah Winfrey they want to eventually join the movie business. ‘I’d like to be an actress when I’m older,’ said Paris. ‘I sometimes do improvs. I used to do them with my dad. And Prince Michael said he wanted to ‘produce movies and direct.’ At the family’s home in Encino, California, Oprah also asked the Jackson children about the masks their father used to make them wear in public. Paris explained they were told to wear them so people would not recognise them when they weren’t out with their father. Asked whether she appreciated the sentiment, she said: ‘I appreciated it. It wasn’t always comfortable, but yes.’ She added: ‘He tried to raise us without [us] knowing who he was, but that didn’t go so well.’ And Paris and Prince Michael showed just how much they’ve grown up as they headed to the cinema with their uncle Jermaine yesterday. Paris looked every bit the young woman in her faded denim jeans, blue T-shirt and cropped jeans jacket, as she and Prince Michael accompanied their cousins, Jermajesty and Jaafar on the trip. They stopped by the cinema in Calabasas, California to catch a screening of the R-rated movie, Due Date, starring Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis. It was a film-packed weekend for Michael’s two eldest children as they went to the movie theatre on Saturday as well to see their aunt Janet’s new movie, For Colored Girls.

I have to say, I was very impressed with the Oprah interview yesterday. The children seem remarkably well-adjusted and it was a big relief to discover that they are so well-spoken. It’s kinda insane to think how wealthy the children will grow up to be but in all honesty, they seem down to Earth and just … normal kids. I really found Oprah‘s interview with Katherine to be enlightening and heartbreaking. You could obviously tell that she is still in much pain over the loss of her son. I was actually very surprised to hear Katherine talk about MJ‘s drug abuse and plastic surgery … these are things she never would’ve spoken about if he were still alive. I was also very happy to watch Katherine FORCE her husband Joseph Jackson to admit that he beat his children. I suspect Katherine put up with a lot of Joe‘s controlling bullshizz in her life and it’s nice to see that he is no longer in control. It’s unclear if we’ll be getting any other interviews from the Jackson children any time soon … and that is prolly for the best. As they grow older, I’m certain they will determine when the time is right for them to step into the spotlight for themselves.

Did any of y’all watch the interview yesterday? What did you think?

Jermaine & Jermajesty Jackson Invade London

Yesterday we saw photos and learned that Janet Jackson has coupled up with a new man and today we get to see photos of another, less famous member of the Jackson family. Jermaine Jackson, who stars along with his brothers Tito, Marlon, and Jackie Jackson in a new reality show on A&E, has made his way to London, England with his son Jermajesty (yes, his name is actually Jermajesty) just as the new show The Jack5ons: A Family Dynasty premiered here in the US:

Because of the way that Jermaine and the Jackson brothers have seemingly been relishing in the fame they have received in the wake of Michael Jackson‘s death, I cannot stomach the idea of watching them on TV. It’s sad but to me it looks like Jermaine thinks that MJ‘s death is the best thing to happen for his career … it’s gross. Never one to turn down an interview or pose for a photo, Jermaine seems to be teaching his young son the ropes of being a Jackson. I hope for his sake he takes a few lessons from his aunt Janet … cashing in on the death of Michael Jackson will only take the less famous Jacksons so far. So … have any of y’all watched The Jack5sons: A Family Dynasty? Thoughts?
