Another 'Glow' from J. Lo
Jennifer Lopez Wants You To Smell ‘Sunkissed’

It’s been a few months since Jennifer Lopez released a new fragrance … when last we heard from Jenny from the Block, she was trying to get dudes to smell like her new male fragrance Deseo … this time, she’s got a new scent for the ladies called Sunkissed Glow by J. Lo. Here is what her new ad for the perfume looks like:

Sunkissed Glow is a flowery, fruity and sensual scent with notes of orange blossom, waterlilies and passion flowers. You will also smell the scent of ember, musk and cashmere wood.

The perfume flask has nice curves like the other Glow by Jennifer Lopez editions. Different from earlier versions are the warm colors on the bottle. With the flacon comes a little present in the form of an arm/ankle bracelet.

I understand that this lovely ad was photographed by Peter Lindbergh on the island Islamorada off the coast of Florida and that Sunkissed Glow will be released in Europe in February 2009. It doesn’t look like the divorce rumors are having an averse effect on her business savvy … I think this is the 49th fragrance that she has released for sale since she started her J. Lo line of merchandise. I’m not sure if any of her scents smell good or not but they appear to be selling well … I’m sure you’ll be able to pick up your own bottle of Sunkissed Glow at your friendly neighborhood Rite Aid Pharmacy soon!

If you married it, then you should'a put a ring on it
Jennifer Lopez Shops, Wears Wedding Ring

Amid reports that there is trouble a-brewin’ in her marriage to Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez ventured out for a little shopping spree at Barney’s New York in Beverly Hills, CA yesterday — one of the more photog-friendly upscale shopping establishments in the greater Los Angeles, CA area — and seemed to be proudly showing off her wedding bling … perhaps in an effort to show the world that she is still very much committed to her husband and her marriage — behold:

Hee hee … I kinda love how she’s walking around with her hand daintily limp and faced forward so that the paps can get a clear shot of her massive diamond ring. Welp, I guess that settles it … after seeing these pics of J. Lo flashing her wedding ring I’m now fully convinced that there are no probs in the LopAnthony marriage whatsoever. The only thing that would look more convincing of marital bliss would be, you know, if she were actually wearing her husband on her arm as well ;)

'Us Weekly' claims the couple is at the "breaking point"
J. Lo & Marc Anthony On The Rocks?

Say it ain’t so!!! Could it be that the supposed happily married Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are on the verge of dunzoness? According to US Weekly magazine, yes … they are. Last week, J. Lo — in all her Diva Latina glory — showed up at the Hollywood premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button sans hubby Marc Anthony which immediately raised red flags and set tongues wagging that there may be trouble in paradise. In a new US Weekly coverstory this week, the mag contends that the couple have reached the “breaking point” and are very near calling off their 4-year marriage:

Rumors swirled that Lopez’s marriage was on the rocks after she showed up to the premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last week without her 8-carat diamond engagement ring, wedding band – or ever present husband, Marc Anthony (who was spotted in Las Vegas sans wedding band the weekend before). Multiple sources confirm to to Us Weekly their marriage is at a breaking point. “They both didn’t wear their rings on purpose,” a mutual pal of the married couple of four years (who renewed their vows in October) tells Us. “Nothing Jennifer does is without purpose.” While Anthony’s rep insists to Us, “They are doing great,” a source tells Us deep trouble has been brewing. “He’s very, very controlling of her,” a close Anthony pal tells Us. “The skirts aren’t as short. You don’t see so much of that booty anymore.” The new Us Weekly also reports that Anthony also picks out Lopez’s clothes and keeps tabs on her phone calls. But Lopez — who once claimed she “loved getting his opinions” — has become less interested in his approval since the birth of their 10-month-old twins, Max and Emme. “She walks in from work, washes her hands and grabs the babies,” a longtime friend tells Us. “With him, it’s almost like, ‘Ugh, they’re crying again?’” Another problem: Lopez — who once commanded $15 million per film — “blames Marc for her career going down the tubes,” says a mutual pal, adding that she’s bitter about the failure of their 2006 drama, El Cantante, which only grossed $7.5 million. (Her 2002 flick Maid in Manhattan earned over $94 million.) “Jennifer looked around and said, ‘This is my life now? I’m a Long Island housewife?’” a pal says. “She hates that everything she worked for went down the tubes.” … Anthony has also been badmouthing his wife. One night after their tense family Thanksgiving in which the couple “didn’t sit together,” Anthony hit NYC hotspots Bungalow 8 and Marquee, where he was spotted with his hand on a woman’s thigh and overheard complaining about his wife to a group of women, “telling them, ‘She’s making me miserable,’” a source says. His club spree didn’t stop there: The next night, he was photographed by TMZ.com partying sans wedding band with pal Eva Longoria Parker and Russell Crowe in Las Vegas. (A source says, “According to Jennifer, he didn’t cheat.”) The pair, who hadn’t been spotted together since Oct. 23 — and the very public removal of their wedding bands — had dinner Tuesday at Beverly Hills restaurant Luau, which they left holding hands.

I am always suspicious of magazine coverstories with headlines like “The Rings Are OFF!” but, in all honesty, I wouldn’t be that surprised if J. Lo and Marc ended up calling it quits. Something about their pairing never felt right for me … they got together milliseconds after Ben Affleck dumped her and Marc divorced his then-wife Dayanara Torres. I just never truly believed that he was right for her. J. Lo‘s marriage to Marc was her third and it wouldn’t truly shock me if it doesn’t turn out to her her last. As much as I think that Jennifer Lopez might find true happiness with someone else, it’s a shame that things did work out with Marc Anthony considering she finally gave birth to the babies that she’s always wanted. I suppose time will tell what is really going on with these two … refusing to wear wedding rings is really a very telling sign that something’s amiss. Isn’t that how Madonna and Guy Ritchie started showing the world that they weren’t destined to last?

The old man and the see
‘The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button’ Premieres

Brangelina were the belles of the ball at the Mann Village Theater in Westwood, CA last night for the Hollywood premiere of Brad Pitt‘s new film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The red carpet was a who’s who of celebs all vying for the chance to be seen at the premiere spectacle last night … here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals and some info on who came out for the big shindig:

Brad Pitt was surrounded by beautiful women at the LA premiere of David Fincher’s “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” at the Mann Village Theatre in Westwood. Pitt and Angelina Jolie resembled classic old time movie stars. Looking a far cry from their busy mommy/daddy roles, Angie was elegant in a strapless black Versace gown, Ralph Lauren Vintage Collection drop earrings, her hair slicked back. Pitt wore a Tom Ford three-piece tuxedo suit and a moustache. But he also posed for photos with his onscreen love interest, Cate Blanchett, reportedly clad in a short, sparkly Alexander McQueen frock that looked suspiciously like a Nicolas Ghesquiere Balenciaga design, but what do I know. Brad’s parents Bill and Jane Pitt, were also on hand for their son’s big Oscar shot film. So were Jennifer Lopez, Gary Oldman, Eva Longoria-Parker, Sharon Stone and Oscar winning actress Tilda Swinton, wearing a Rodarte gown, who also plays one of Pitt’s lovers early in the film. In this incredibly moving and sweeping romance based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Pitt plays a boy who is born old but gets younger. He falls in love with Cate’s character whom he meets when he is very old man and she is very young girl, but they eventually hook up in the middle. It’s an astonishing film (getting major Oscar buzz) that gets you thinking about love, time, aging, youth, impermanence, relationships, faith, communication and all the people who’ve had an impact – big or small – in your life. Most amazing is the makeup and digital aging/youthing FX. Watching Blanchett and Pitt age in different directions is an astonishing feat that doesn’t distract from the magical love story. Blanchett didn’t make it to the flashy post party. But for a darn good reason. She hopped a red eye flight back home to Sydney so she could host the Wednesday “Button” Australian premiere, a big fundraiser for her pet passion, the Sydney Theatre Company.

Brad and Ange looked pretty amazing last night … the old skool Hollywood glam-look really works for them. It’s always a pleasure to see Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton on a red carpet … and Jennifer Lopez was lookin’ like her usual luscious Diva Latina self. Oh and I doubt that the Marley & Me premiere will be as lavish an affair as this premiere was. To be completely honest … I’m not sure I’m all that interested in seeing this film. Having seen the very extensive movie trailer pretty much gives the whole story away. BUT, there are two reasons why I will prolly make my way out to theaters to check it out — the movie is based on a story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald and was directed by David Fincher (you may recall that Pitt and Fincher worked together on the stunning film Se7en). Since this is one Fitzgerald story I haven’t read yet, I’m intrigued to see what it may look like on the big screen. Add to that the fact that Fincher is one of my fave movie directors and, well, it looks like Mr. Button will be getting my $15 at the box office (unless I see it at home in Detroit, MI where my out of pocket expenses will be lowered to approx. $10).

For the 25th time
Various Stars Come Out For ‘A Night Of Stars’

Cipriani Wall Street in NYC was the site of the 25th annual Night of Stars hosted by The Fashion Group International last night. Honoring celebs and dignitaries for achievements in fashion, beauty, architecture, entertainment AND humanitarianism, last night’s Night of Stars event brought out a Who’s Who of the celebrity elite. Here are a few pics from the arrivals last night:

Donatella Versace was honored as the “Superstar” of the evening and it looks like she attended last night’s event with Balthazar Getty (hmm … I wonder if Sienna Miller knows about this?). Jennifer Lopez looked utterly amazing in her Diva Latina finery and everyone else looked pissed off or really grouchy upon arrival. Marcia Gay Harden looked ready to whip someone’s ass … I hope folks were smart enough to not get on her bad side. Debra Messing was shutting it down last night. I mean it, she looked bananas in her black dress and her amazingly flat-ironed hair’do. Oh yeah, she killed it. Er … as a client of Rachel Zoe‘s, I felt it was necessary to get those catchphrases on the record. Yeah, I dunno if any of the honorees were worthy of whatever awards they were honored with last night but folks sure did look purdy at the event anyways.

The deets
Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony Re-Tie The Knot

Yesterday I posted a newslink reporting that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony decided to renew their wedding vows in a spur-of-the-moment ceremony in the wee hours of Sunday morning at Caesars Palace‘s Forum Tower Penthouse. Today, People magazine has all of the inside deets from the impromptu ceremony (which was a joint wedding ceremony with NY Mets player Carlos Beltran and his wife Jessica, it turns out). Here is a pic of LopAnthony in Vegas over the weekend in the hours before they said their I Dos … again:

When it came to saying their “I dos” again, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony doubled the fun, joining New York Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran and his wife Jessica for a joint ceremony, PEOPLE has learned. “Carlos gave his wife a specially engraved ring and gave Marc and Jennifer special rings as gifts,” a source told PEOPLE exclusively. “Carlos and Jessica renewed their vows first, then Jennifer and Marc went.” The vows came after a private dinner at Bradley Ogden and a good night rolling the dice. “They were both winning at the craps table and Marc kept saying that it was going to be a lucky night,” the source said. And as luck would have it, it was “nearly flawless,” added the source. “Initially, they were supposed to do the ceremony outside on the suite’s balcony but it was too cold, so they had to move it inside. That was the only thing that didn’t go according to plan.” Inside, the couples were wed in the Caesars Palace’s newly renovated Forum Tower Penthouse in the suite’s rotunda. The suite only reopened Saturday, making Lopez and Anthony the first people to stay there since the renovation. “Marc actually said the suite was so beautiful that it deserved it’s own zip code,” the source said. “He thought it was perfect.” Wearing a black dress, Lopez looked “beautiful” as 12 people witnessed the ceremony, the source said. “Her parents didn’t even see it because they were with the babies.” Following the nuptials, a butler opened a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne for the newly re-married couples.

Ahh … such are the lifestyles of the rich and famous. I suppose there is a smidge of romance to all of this spontaneity. While I’ll be the first to confess that I never really saw J. Lo and Marc together as a couple it is very clear that they are and have always been crazy in love with one another. Now that the couple have newborn twin babies to add to their happiness … well, I really can’t do anything other than wish them congrats and much more love in their lives together. Congrats, again, LopAnthony!

La Diva Latina is upset over a recently published interview
Jennifer Lopez May Sue ‘The Daily Beast’

Earlier this week we learned from a new interview published on the newly launched website The Daily Beast that Jennifer Lopez had reportedly suffered a “nervous breakdown” earlier this year after the birth of her twins this past Spring. It turns out that J. Lo is totally pissed at this assertion and is now considering legal action against the site for publishing the story:

Jennifer Lopez is reportedly taking legal action against a website that claimed she had suffered a nervous breakdown. Elle writer Kevin Sessums released extracts of an interview with the singer to The Daily Beast after Jen made it known that she didn’t want her comments to appear in the glossy woman’s magazine. Jen’s rep says, “We’re very unhappy about it, and think it was poor judgement on his [Sessums] part. As long as we have represented Jennifer, we have never heard her refer to having a breakdown of any sort.” The website retaliated in Sessums’ defence, telling Hollywood Access: “The story accurately reports what Kevin Sessums learned from Ms Lopez in his interview. He owns the story and The Daily Beast was happy to publish it.” Jen’s team have reportedly sent a legal letter to the website.

HMM … it sounds to me like J. Lo opened up to this interviewer who she thought was working expressly for Elle magazine and then, in retrospect, thought better about a few of her revelations and insisted they not be published … in Elle magazine. Because the interviewer owns the story, he was able to publish the parts of the interview that did not appear in Elle on The Daily Beast. The interviewer, Kevin Sessums, does quote Jennifer as saying, “There was a time when I was very overworked and I was doing music and movies and so many things. I was suffering from a lack of sleep. And I did have a kind of nervous breakdown.” My guess is that Sessums has the whole thing on tape which means that a lawsuit by the Lopez camp prolly won’t stick. Tho, this incident will prolly keep J. Lo from opening up too much any future interviewers as a result. I also doubt she’ll ever talk to Sessums again. I’m not sure if it was worth burning bridges just to publish these revelations but what’s done is done. I wonder if he has any other juicy off-the-record tid bits to share from other interviews he might have done over the years.

She won't talk about breast-feeding but will discuss Scientology
Jennifer Lopez Opens Up In A New Interview

Jennifer Lopez gave a very candid and thorough interview with the just launched new website The Daily Beast wherein she talks about topics ranging from her new experiences with motherhood, to the possibility of sending her twin children to a Scientology-based school, to what she plans to do with the money she made by selling the first photos of her kids. This new interview took place about 4 months after she gave birth to her twins and was conducted at her home. Here are pics of J. Lo at ELLE Magazine’s 15th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute event which took place at The Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, CA last night … and portions of her new interview:

After refusing to have a nanny for the first four months of her children’s lives, she has reluctantly ceded that she may need one. “I’m trying out my first one today,” she whispers. “But I still can’t stand the sound of my babies crying without tending to them myself.” Lopez, wearing an orange Scoop T-shirt dress, looks as gratefully exhausted as any new mother. I ask her if she needs some privacy so she can nurse the twins who are beginning to squirm. “Is that something you’ve chosen to do? To breast-feed?” “No,” she says as I ask if the La Leche League has come after her for such a decision. She laughs and readjusts the twins in her arms. “No. No. Some people are radical about it. But to each his own.” “If you had had only one child would you have chosen to breast-feed?” “No … I … ah …. it’s not that … I’d rather not discuss it. It’s a whole other thing. If you want to go off-the-record I’ll tell you.” We decide to stay on-the-record … Any sort of depression is hard to imagine from a woman who seems to barrel through any sort of emotional problem. “I don’t get nervous. I don’t get depressed. Blah blah blah,” she says, but pauses to reconsider. Still staring into her daughter’s eyes, she reaches an instant, instinctual decision. She will start now, in this moment, not-lying in her daughter’s presence. “There was a time when I was very overworked and I was doing music and movies and so many things. I was suffering from a lack of sleep. And I did have a kind of nervous breakdown. I froze up on a set. Well, not on a set, but in my trailer. I was like – I don’t want to move. I don’t want to talk. I don’t want to do anything. It was on that movie Enough,” she says, referring to the film in which she played a battered wife who finally fights back. “Yeah. I did. I had a nervous breakdown” … The conversation turns to Scientology. “I know a lot of your friends are Scientologists,” I say. “Your father has been a Scientologist for about 20 years …” “More than that now,” she says. “Scientologists don’t believe in shrinks. Would you ever call on Scientology if you were having those problems again?” I ask. “I do know a lot about Scientology. And I know about the practices. I know all about what the technology is and all that kind of stuff. It’s very helpful. So in a sense, yeah, you do call on it.” “Do you consider yourself a Scientologist?” “No.” “If you were, would you be open about it?” “Yeah. I wouldn’t have a problem saying it because I know what it is. I have no problems with it and it really actually bothers me that people have such a negative feeling towards it.” “That it is too exotic? Too cultish?” “Just negative feelings.” “Would you consider schooling Emme and Max in a Scientology school?” I ask. “Yeah. I wouldn’t mind. Not at all. Because I know that the technologies that they have are very helpful… It’s all about communication. That’s the thing I really don’t like about talking about this. I do know so many great people who do do it, who choose it as a lifestyle and really follow it and it is their religion…I just wish that people wouldn’t judge it without knowing what it is.”

Interesting … she seems very open about discussing Scientology and would even consider sending her kids to a Scientology school but she does not consider herself a Scientologist. If she really is trying to combat the “negative feelings” that surround the religion, why not just come out and embrace it publicly? I suspect her career restraints are keeping her from going down that path … a path that she would happily send her kids. It’s not necessarily a bad thing (I believe everyone has a right to follow whatever religion they choose) but it is an interesting revelation. The interview goes on to discuss the huge sum of money that J. Lo was paid for the publication of the first photos of her children. She reveals that she donated a portion of the money to charity and put the rest away expressly for her children’s future. She also confesses that the whole “diva thing” is a misrepresentation of who she really is and believes that she is only a target for such classification because her success has made her “a favorite to pick on”. You can read the interview in its entirety HERE. Personally, I think it is the most candid interview I think I’ve ever read from her. She really opened up about some things in an honest and real way. What do y’all think … is this the Jennifer Lopez you thought you knew?

Launches 'Deseo Men' in NYC
Jennifer Lopez Wants Dudes To Smell Like Her

Last Friday afternoon, David and Victoria Beckham descended upon Macy’s Department Store in NYC to do some in-store promo work for their new male and female fragrances called Signature. Now it’s Jennifer Lopez‘s turn … but while Les Beckhams managed to whip up a massive crowd of fans, J. Lo … well … didn’t. Here are a few pics of J. Lo at Macy’s in Herald Square promoting her new men’s fragrance Deseo Men:

OY … all these celebrity fragrances, it’s really becoming a bit much, don’t y’all think? I mean, I dunno who the target market is for a J. Lo fragrance for men. I, for one, would rather choose a fragrance from a known designer rather than a concoction whipped up by a celeb (which is really giving the celeb too much credit, all they really do is offer suggestions, then approve the final product) … but I suppose there are all types of people. I can’t imagine that revealing that one is wearing a J. Lo fragrance (especially a dude) will do much to curry favor for that person (especially if he is mackin’ on someone else — female or male) but … what do I know. Do any of y’all think you’d like your men smellin’ like Jennifer Lopez?

Couples, especially
Celebs

Celeb couples Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony and Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves made their way out to Milan, Italy for Fashion Week there and made an appearance en masse at the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2009 show. If I remember correctly, Matthew is the spokesperson for D&G‘s The One fragrance and J. Lo is just besties with the designers. Here are a few pics of everyone lookin’ fab at the D&G fashion show this week:

Gah, even Marc Anthony looks a’ight in these pictures. J. Lo looks divine with her überbeyotch hairdo (not unlike the look that Top Design judge and Elle Decor editor Margaret Russell rocks on a weekly basis) and Matthew, well, he is in a shirt and suit … we should be happy he dressed for the occasion. These are great pics … and everyone looks so happy and friendly. Yeah, that’s all I got.
