SOOOO cute. Violet has grown into such a cute little girl, she is such a doll. It really doesn’t seem that long ago that she was but a baby and now she’s a big kid who is the big sister to newborn Seraphina Rose Elizabeth. My, how time flies. While I think that Violet looks so cute with all that chocolate on her face, it’s pics like these that remind me how NOT ready for kids I am ;) But the Afflecks do have adorable children … chocofaces or not.

Jennifer Garner, who gave birth to her second child in January, joined her husband Ben Affleck as they picked up their eldest daughter Violet Anne from pre-school and ventured out for a shopping excursion … and they brought along newborn daughter Seraphina Rose Elizabeth for the ride. After a bit of a false alarm last week when it was believed that Jennifer Garner was being admitted to the hospital to give birth to her second child only to learn that she was in and out and on the streets of Beverly Hills, CA shopping with her firstborn child Violet later the same day … comes news today that Jen finally gave birth to baby #2 here in SoCal last night. Jen and hubby Ben Affleck welcomed their second daughter into the world yesterday afternoon:

Jennifer Garner and husband Ben Affleck have welcomed their second daughter, PEOPLE confirms exclusively. The actress’s rep says: “Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck gave birth to a healthy baby girl.” The baby was born Tuesday in Los Angeles. No other details were immediately available. Garner and Affleck, both 36, are also parents to daughter Violet, 3 … Former Alias costar and close friend Victor Garber says the actress needs no help in the mommy department. “It’s her second child,” Garber told PEOPLE. “She knows what to do. She’s probably the best mother I’ve ever witnessed.”

Aww, much love and congrats to the happy family. I suspect that the child has been named but the public has not been made privy to that information just yet, prolly so that the extended family can be notified first. I’m sure we’ll be hearing the name shortly … considering that they named their firstborn daughter Violet, I wouldn’t be surprised if they followed the flower theme with this new baby. I do hope, tho, that the couple stay away from any fug flower names like Tulip … which is not only kinda terrible but it’s already been done in Hollywood. Perhaps Begonia or Bougainvillea? Those are lovely flower names, yes? Whatever the child is named, I wish she and the entire Garner-Affleck family a long and very happy life together. Congrats again!!

Earlier this week, on New Year’s Eve, new photos came out of Ben Affleck escorting a pained-looking and very pregs wife Jennifer Garner to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center which led some to believe that she was being admitted to give birth to her second child. It turns out that the doctor visit was prolly just a routine check-up cuz later on in the day, Jen was seen doing a bit of shopping at Williams-Sonoma with her firstborn child Violet Anne:

I must admit that I, too, thought for sure that Jen was gonna drop her load at Cedars when I first saw these pics of Bennifer 2.0 arriving at the hospital. 2009 will see the birth of a new Bennifer child … but just not yet.

ABC, CBS and NBC joined together to broadcast a simultaneous telethon to support the Stand Up To Cancer organization which seeks to bring awareness and raise funds for cancer research. Many celebs came out to the Kodak Theater here in Hollywood, CA last night for the live event, including Patrick Swayze, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals last night:

Three TV networks, cancer research advocates and more than 60 celebrities from music, sports, TV and film made history Friday night with a live telethon that aired simultaneously on NBC, ABC and CBS. Jack Black, Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry and Keanu Reeves — along with presidential nominees John McCain and Barack Obama — were among the stars participating in “Stand Up to Cancer,” an hourlong, commercial-free fundraising show spearheaded by entertainment-industry heavyweights whose lives have been touched by the disease. “This is an absolutely historic night, thanks to the unbelievable generosity of the three networks,” producer and cancer survivor Laura Ziskin told the audience at the Kodak Theatre before the show began. “We hope we’re going to make you laugh, and I know we’re going to make you cry, so I have some party favors,” she said as she tossed packets of Kleenex into the crowd. Cancer survivors Lance Armstrong and Elizabeth Edwards kicked off the program with statistics: Cancer kills 550,000 Americans and six million people worldwide each year. “That’s the equivalent of 9/11 every two days,” Armstrong said. Patrick Swayze, Billy Crystal, Salma Hayek and Christina Applegate urged viewers to call in and donate, while Neil Patrick Harris, America Ferrera, Christina Ricci and Kirsten Dunst answered phones. A visibly pregnant Jennifer Garner, along with Berry, Forest Whitaker and Casey Affleck, read personal accounts from those battling cancer.

And speaking of Patrick Swayze, it turns out that he was called by some the “best part” of last night’s telethon:

Patrick Swazye’s surprise appearance at the EIF “Stand Up To Cancer” fund-raising special impressed a nation of television viewers and a stage full of fellow celebrities. The actor, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year, was brought out on a darkened stage during the opening segment. When the lights came up, he received a standing ovation. Even Jennifer Aniston, who was in the middle of a phone call, stood up to pay tribute to Swayze. “He looks amazing,” former basketball player Charles Barkley told PEOPLE. “For me, seeing Patrick Swayze, someone who is actually fighting this disease, was the best part of the show. Seeing him in person was amazing.” Swayze smiled and danced in the wings through the show, holding his wife, Lisa Niemi. He even managed a moment of solo air guitar.

It is really wonderful to hear that Patrick is doing so well … and what a momentous event. The Fashion Rocks event in NYC synced up with the Stand Up To Cancer event here in LA last night as a whole slew of musicians — including Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Natasha Bedingfield, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Keyshia Cole, LeAnn Rimes, Ashanti and Ciara — gave a special performance of the song Just Stand Up which was recorded specifically to help raise money and awareness for cancer research. Here are a couple pics of Jennifer Garner showing off her ever-expanding baby bump as she met up with friends for lunch in Beverly Hills, CA yesterday afternoon. I think y’all can agree that pregnancy really does seem to suit Jen, yes?

I had forgotten how great Jen looks when she’s pregs. She is one of those women who really just glows during pregnancy. It’s hard to imagine that being pregs can sometimes be an uncomfortable experience (so I hear, that is) when you see pics of Jen lookin’ so happy all the time. If memory serves, she looked just as glowy back when she was pregs with her firstborn child Violet Ann. I think she’s still too early on to be talking gender just yet but I’m hoping for another girl. Dunno why, I just like the idea of Bennifer 2.0 having a set of adorable daughters.
