Last month we learned that actress Jennifer Aniston would be joining her former Friends co-star (and real life BFF) Courteney Cox-Arquette on Courteney‘s hit ABC series Cougar Town when the show returned this Fall for its second season. Today we get our FIRST LOOK at Jennifer on Cougar Town in a few promo photos released by ABC that show Jen and Courteney on set:

Aniston’s last few films may not have exactly set the box office on fire, but she’ll always have a place on the small screen with her old Friend Courteney Cox. The Marley and Me star will make a cameo appearance in Cox’s show, Cougar Town, on September 22 and new pictures of the episode have been just released. Aniston will play Jules’ (Courteney Cox) therapist in the season two premiere episode. Jules finds she has an instant connection with Glenn but then discovers that her treatment methods are less than conventional. ‘Kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist,’ executive producer Bill Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly magazine. Last year, another of Cox’s Friends co-stars, Lisa Kudrow, made an appearance as a therapist who ended up dating Jules’ ex-husband.

Yay!! I am so excited that Jennifer will be appearing on the season 2 premiere of Cougar Town because it is bound to generate a lot of interest in the show. As I’ve said many times, Cougar Town was my fave new comedy from last season and I am very much looking forward to the coming season. While it may feel a bit like a ratings ploy by having Jennifer Aniston appear on the show, the fact that she and Courteney Cox-Arquette are such good friends in real life far outweighs the gimmickiness of the guest appearance. Fellow Friends alum Lisa Kudrow was a great addition to the cast last season, I know Jennifer will be as well this season. A couple of weeks ago we learned that Jennifer Aniston will be appearing in upcoming eps of her BFF Courteney Cox-Arquette‘s hit ABC series Cougar Town and today we learn that Jen is gettin’ some extra perks from her association with the show. People magazine is reporting that Jen went on a 2-hour date with Josh Hopkins, who plays hottie neighbor Grayson on Cougar Town, which might be the first sign of a new romantic relationship for the famously single Ms. Aniston:

Looks like Jennifer Aniston’s guest starring role on Cougar Town comes with some sweet fringe benefits. The actress, 40, (who was recently rumored to be back together with John Mayer) shared a two-hour Italian dinner with Cougar Town actor Josh Hopkins at Madeo in Beverly Hills on Sept. 2. “She seemed very excited about her date,” says a eyewitness. “She and Josh sat at a more private table and they seemed to get along great.” Aniston, who sipped white wine and ordered fish, shared animated conversations with Hopkins, 39. “It was obvious that they don’t know each other well, but there was a flirty energy between them and Jen looked very happy,” adds the witness. Reps for both haven’t commented on the relationship, but there’s no denying the smile on Aniston’s face these days. “Jen has been in the best mood lately,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She is trying to do whatever makes her happy, which includes going on fun dates with interesting men.” And the star’s optimistic attitude could lead to more fun in the dating world.

I LOVE Josh Hopkins on Cougar Town … and I really love the idea of a possible love match blossoming between Jen and Josh. He seems like the perfect guy for her … he’s in the biz so he understands the demands of her life but he’s also not all that famous so that she can enjoy some of his normalcy. Josh is also a hottie (much hotter than John Mayer, IMHO) so there is much for Jen to enjoy from him. Because of Jen‘s notorious singleness, I’m not holding my breath just yet … but I do like this pairing very much. Here’s hoping this 2-hour date turns into something more substantial and long-lasting.

Last month Entertainment Weekly reported that plans were in the works to try and get Jennifer Aniston to do a guest appearance on the hit ABC sitcom Cougar Town which stars Jen‘s former Friends costar and current BFF Courteney Cox-Arquette. Today, EW updates with news that the network is officially confirming that Jen will appear on Cougar Town:

Jennifer Aniston, doing her best Barbra Streisand impersonation, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. Trust me, while she looks very much like her usual self on the cover, she does a great impersonation of Streisand in the accompanying photospread. Jen promotes her new film Just Go With It in her coverstory interview but, really, it’s all about the photospread for me. Here is our first look at Jen‘s new HB coverphoto and some excerpts from her interview:

On being a funny girl: “People laugh at me. Sometimes I know why, and sometimes I don’t. But I can pretty much find humor in anything. That is a necessary part of life. I don’t want to say laughter is healing, because it sounds corny, but it’s a release.”

On what she’s learned from Barbra Streisand: “You don’t have to stop at one thing. You can do it all if you want to.”

On being in the spotlight: “[Barbra and I] are people who have been put in the spotlight, for better or for worse, and you just keep riding, and you keep overcoming.”

On looking up to Streisand: “Barbra inspires me because there isn’t anything she hasn’t done that she wanted to do, especially as a female in the time when her generation was prime. She’s a true renais­sance woman. . . I had a long conversation with Barbra about directing because I directed a short a couple years ago, and if I don’t do it again soon, I’m going to burst out of my skin. And we also love interior design.”

Yesterday we learned that Courteney Cox-Arquette‘s hit ABC comedy Cougar Town will be keeping it’s name for the second season and beyond despite the fact that the name no longer seems to fit the sitcom any longer. Today we learn a bit of new information about the show that has nothing to do with the title and everything to do with a report from Entertainment Weekly that Jennifer Aniston is close to signing a deal that will bring her on the show in a guest spot:

Courteney Cox is cooking up something bigger than a title change to lure viewers to the undiscovered gem that is her ABC comedy Cougar Town: Jennifer Aniston! After a year’s worth of will-she-or-won’t-she speculation, Aniston is nearing a deal to reunite with her former Friends costar (and real-life BFF) in an early episode of the show’s second season (premiering on Sept. 22), sources confirm to me exclusively. ABC declined to comment, while Cougar Town executive producer Bill Lawrence would only say, “I would love for it to happen but there’s nothing to talk about yet.”

As you may recall, Arquette‘s other female Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow made a guest appearance on Cougar Town last season so it makes sense that Aniston would be stopping by as well. Courteney and Jennifer previously worked together on the short-lived FX series Dirt and it was rumored that Aniston would be making a cameo in Arquette‘s upcoming new film Scream 4. The universe just wants these real-life BFFs to work together again … I’d bet very good money that Jen will be showing up on Cougar Town this coming season … and I can’t wait! I wonder how long until the male Friends alums start showing up on the show as well. HMMM.

According to a new report making the rounds today, Jennifer Aniston is rumored to be joining her BFF and former Friends co-star Courteney Cox-Arquette in the upcoming sequel film Scream 4 (scheduled to begin filming in Michigan later in the year). Now, because this report originates from Star magazine, I’d suggest taking it with a sizeable grain of salt … but, it is entirely possible that Courteney convinced Jen to get in on the Scream fun so that the BFFs could work together again. Read on for the deets of this report but be warned, it contains supposed plot spoilers for a film that has yet to go into production:

In the June 14 issue of Star — on sale now — we report that Jennifer may be known for her romantic comedies, but she’s switching genres for her new role: a part in Scream 4! Jen will play a woman who’s killed off in the opening sequence, a trademark of the franchise — as a favor to BFF and Scream actress Courteney. The role will be similar to Drew Barrymore’s killer part in the first film. “Scream has always been an important part of Courteney’s life, and she wanted Jennifer to be a part of the production,” an insider tells Star. Courteney, her husband David Arquette and Neve Campbell will all reprise their roles in the next installment, which hits theatres in April 2011.

As much as I would LOVE to see Jennifer Aniston make a cameo in Scream 4, I don’t know that I can totally believe this report just yet. It seems to me that producers of the film — and Scream writer Kevin Williamson especially — would want to keep new of Scream 4‘s first victim a closely guarded secret for as long as they can. The fact that the movie has yet to go into filming production is a huge red flag … ans is the main reason why I can’t believe this report. Even still, it would be a nice coup for Scream 4 if they got Jennifer Aniston to appear in the film … even if only long enough to get murdered in the first few minutes. What do y’all think … will Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox-Arquette reunite on screen in Scream 4 or is this just too much wishful thinking on Star magazine’s part?

Yesterday we got our first look at a new promo image from the new ad campaign for Glacéau Smart Water which features celebrity spokesmodel Jennifer Aniston. As you may recall, Jen showed off her ripped abs in that promo image. Today we get to see a couple other images from the ad campaign for Smart Water, tho these photos are less obviously sexy:

While I vastly prefer the photo we saw yesterday, these ain’t that bad. I mean, it can’t be easy to make water look sexy but I think Jen does just that. I’d say these photos are more pretty than they are sexy. You know, if her rom-com movie career ever peters out, Jennifer Aniston could still enjoy a happy career as a bottled water model.

In the ad, currently running in American magazines, the actress is pictured in her gym gear, baring her taut tummy while clutching a bottle of the mineral water. She is pictured above a caption which reads: ‘My workout partner. Working out feels great…afterwards. That’s why I drink Smart. It’s hydration I can feel. (And it’s one part of my routine I never sweat.)’

Hot!! She looks really fit, really fab in this photo. As you may recall, we saw a couple of promo photos for Glacéau Smart Water which featured male celeb spokesmodel Tom Brady but I understand Jennifer is the company’s #1 spokesmodel. While I may slightly prefer the Tom Brady photos over Jen‘s (for obvious reasons), I cannot deny that Jennifer looks freakin’ fantastic. I have no doubt that Jen most likely sells lots of water lookin’ like this. Thirsty?

As if we haven’t already been punished enough, Jennifer Aniston was spotted in Hawaii on the set of a new romantic comedy titled Just Go With It that stars funnyman Adam Sandler as her leading man. Now, before all the Ani-stans get all pissy with me, let me assure you that I am just kidding about the “punishment” (tho, The Bounty Hunter did disappear from theaters pretty quickly, didn’t it?). Considering that Jen is teaming up with Adam, this film might actually turn out to be a hit:

I love Adam Sandler but I always have a hard time taking him seriously in romantic comedies like this. These photos of him smoochin’ all up on Jennifer are funny … but prolly not for the right reasons. In any event, I am actually very curious to see how this film turns out … I’m not saying it will necessarily appeal to me but I am hopeful that this collabo between Sandler and Aniston will actually be an entertaining one. We shall see.

Because the shocking news that Sandra Bullock has adopted a baby boy without anyone in the world knowing about it takes precedence, her story is the main focus of this week’s cover of People magazine. But People has another big story to share with the world this week, its annual 100 Most Beautiful People list! Here are a few of the folks who made the list this year — including Jake Gyllenhaal, Channing Tatum and Bradley Cooper — but the celeb chosen as THE most beautiful person might come as a bit of a surprise, or maybe not really … she has previously made the 100 Most Beautiful List 12 times and has previously been THE most beautiful person 4 times:

Julia Roberts, who began her career as “Pretty Woman,” is now the most beautiful person in the world, according to People magazine’s Most Beautiful Person issue released on Wednesday. This is the fourth time the 42-year-old timeless beauty has headed People’s list and the twelfth time she’s been named one of the world’s 100 Most Beautiful people. The announcement was made live Wednesday on TODAY by People senior editor Galina Espinoza … A dozen appearances are the second-most in the history of the exclusive list. Only Halle Berry, who this year makes her 14th appearance on People’s iconic list, has more. Following Roberts are nine-time honorees George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez, Brad Pitt and Nicole Kidman. While I generally agree with People‘s choices of the “most beautiful”, I can’t help but believe their decision to name Julia Roberts the most beautiful person — again — as a p.r. stunt in her favor. Julia has a new movie coming out so this “honor” will help with promotion of that film. Of all the people People could’ve chosen, like Sandra Bullock perhaps, I cannot for the life of me understand why Julia Roberts would be chosen as the stand out. In any event, People‘s 100 Most Beautiful People list is pure feel-good fluff for everyone involved … it’s nothing really to take seriously at all. Which of YOUR fave beautiful people made the list?
