Now that we’ve had a couple of weeks to get used to the idea that Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer are dunzo, again, folks are starting to dish as to what the cause of the break-up was this time around. As we learned a couple of weeks ago, John apparently broke up with Jennifer after she returned from a trip to Europe … but today, we’re hearing that it was Jen that broke up with John … reportedly (and laughingly) because of his obsession with Twitter:

People claiming to be friends of the actress have told Star magazine that she finished the affair after discovering Mayer, 31, spent hours on the networking website, despite telling her he was too busy to get in touch with her. The pair started dating in April 2008, but have broken up several times. However, they appeared inseparable at the Oscars last month. A source claimed Aniston decided Mayer was not committed enough to her and called time on their romance having found hourly updates on his Twitter page. The source said: “John suddenly stopped calling her or returning her emails and when she would finally catch up with him, he’d say: ‘I’ve been so busy with work. I’m sorry I haven’t had time to call you back.” The source added: “Jen was fuming. There he was, telling her he didn’t have time for her and yet his page was filled with Twitter updates. Every few hours, sometimes minutes, he’d update with some stupid line. And in her mind, she was like ‘He has time for all this Twittering, but he can’t send me a text, an email, make a call?’.” It has also been claimed musician John made no attempt to cover up his Twitters. The source said: “He didn’t even deny it. He knew he was avoiding her. So when she called him on it and ended things, he just said OK, and that he was sorry it didn’t work out. “He took the break-up like a man.” Even so, shortly after Aniston’s call, Mayer’s Twitter update read: ‘This heart didn’t come with instructions.’

LOL! Man, as much as I wish this report was true, I’m afraid that it’s prolly a bit too ridiculous to be totally true … right? Anyone that follows John Mayer on Twitter knows that he is an avid tweeter and does post many times a day. If he truly did chose Twitter over Jennifer Aniston then he prolly deserved to get dumped. My guess is that the truth is prolly somewhere in the middle … he tweeted a lot and she hated it a lot … and then dunzo. This might be the first reported case of celebrity break-up due to Twitter-related complications … which is really sad. I just hope that this report doesn’t turn people off to using Twitter … I love it and can’t get enough — a fact that David is well aware of and is fine with … I think :)

Hold the phone … waitaminute … what? E! News‘ Marc Malkin is reporting that he is hearing that Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer may have broken up again! As you may recall, Mayerston decided to call it quits back in August after a couple months of canoodling … but then they got back together right around John’s birthday. Since then, the couple have been going pretty steady … all thru her new movie promotion and up until the very high profile Academy Awards. But, if Malkin’s sources are to be believed … the couple’s on again off again relationship may be off again:

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer may have called it quits. That’s the rumor I’m hearing. A source says that the pair’s on-again, off-again relationship may have ended when Aniston returned from overseas, where she was promoting Marley & Me. She returned sometime within the last week. “He broke up with her when she got back from her European tour,” the source said. Aniston’s rep did not immediately comment. Mayer’s rep declined to comment on the singer’s personal life. And what are their friends saying? One pal warns that we shouldn’t be quick to assume the two are through for good. As we know, this wouldn’t be the first time they’ve gone their separate ways. Aniston recently opened up about love and romance to the U.K. magazine You. “Who ever said that every relationship has to last forever? That’s hoping too much,” said Aniston, who turned 40 exactly a month ago. “I think every relationship is a world unto itself.” As for finding the perfect partner, she said, “I don’t have one and I don’t think it exists.”

HMMM … I can believe it. Malkin goes on to report that Jen is headed for an extended stint in NYC to film a new movie with Jason Bateman while John is staying here in SoCal to work on his next album. It makes sense that the couple might call things off for a while … and either get back into it again in a few months or go their separate ways. I don’t know why but I kinda like the idea of Mayerston together. It’s nice to see Jennifer Aniston smile again like she means it … you could see that when she was with John. I’m not entirely willing to stick a spork into Mayerston for good just yet … but I can believe that they might be on a break. Heh … which is so kinda funny if you think about it (and are a fan of Friends) … unless John has random sex with some chick and then, yeah, you know the rest. Jennifer Aniston is featured on the cover and in the pages of the April issue of British Elle magazine which, the magazine contends, is her first UK interview in over 2 years. Of course British Elle magazine asks her the expected questions about her ex-husband Brad Pitt but, unsurprisingly, she offers no new information to the magazine … in fact, she flat out refuses to offer any information at all … at least on the Brad Pitt front. Hahahaha! I love how disinterested she looks on the cover … you can really tell that she wanted to do this interview. I mean, I guess I don’t blame her for clamming up about her ex-husband. It must be terribly frustrating to constantly be tied to your ex-husband and his new family. At least she could pretend that she cares tho. I guess what I don’t understand is how a person can continue to court the public’s favor in order to promote a new project but in the process of the promoting look as if you’d rather be somewhere else … or, even worse, get pissed off when public actually pays attention to your every move. Celebs can be so funny sometimes. In any event, this issue of Elle magazine goes on sale in the UK on Wednesday. Interested Brits lookin’ to read more pearls of wisdom from Ms. Aniston might want to take note. I, for one, think I’ve heard enough.

After all the Oscar trophies were handed out at last night’s Academy Awards (actually, some folks didn’t even wait ’til all the awards were handed out … some showed up at the party before the Oscars were even finished), a who’s who of Hollywood A-Listers made their way to the Sunset Tower to party the night away at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party which was hosted by Graydon Carter. Folks this is THE party to go to if you are “anybody” in Hollywood. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals last night:

I gotta say … I was very bummed to see that Madonna showed up at the VF party sans her much younger beau Jesus Luz. I was really hoping she and her boytoy would walk the red carpet together and set the gossips afire with her brazen brash & sassiness. Boo. On the plus side, tho, Jennifer Aniston was happy to cozy up to her beau John Mayer for the cameras … tho, the couple did not make a scene on the red carpet in full view of all of the cameras … they saved their canoodling for inside the shindig. While many folks make the rounds on Oscar night and hit up as many parties as they can, the folks who get an invite to the Vanity Fair party make sure to make an appearance and some end up staying all night long … it’s that good. I’m sure a great time was had by all … now that we’ve got the 81st Academy Awards in the can, I’m sure many folks were rearin’ to get to the celebratin’ (or the drownin’ ones sorrows in free booze … like Brangelina). See, there really ain’t no bizznazz like showbiz.

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer jetted off to the Bahamas last weekend to enjoy a little private R&R together as they celebrated Valentine’s Day and their lurve together in the tropics. The pair were in such a lovey way that they were spied making out very publicly at the airport. I believe that this is the first time that Mayerston has actually been photographed swappin’ spit together since they hooked up last year:

The two left aboard a private jet from Los Angeles late last Thursday night — a day after Aniston’s 40th birthday — and arrived on the island of Eleuthera the next morning, according to x17. They stayed in a gated, luxurious home on the north of the island – where Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon wed last year. The two mostly spent their time indoors, the site claims. The trip was short: Both took off Monday in separate private jets from the island’s main airport. They shared a passionate kiss and hug as they prepared to part ways. Says an x17 photographer: “Jen looked really upset to be leaving John.”

Oh my! So in love, these two. Even tho they don’t make the most attractive kissers (and to be honest, I’ve seen worse), they do look very happy to be together. Some are suggesting that the couple are together mainly for publicity’s sake but — even if that is the case — I’ll bet they are (at the very least) having some fun together. The fact that they reportedly spent most of their time indoors suggests that they kept themselves occupied with various “indoor activities”. HMMMM. I wonder what sort of activities kept them occupied. Would any of y’all care to venture a guess?

Jennifer Aniston jetted off to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with her BFF Courteney Cox-Arquette and her family to ring in the New Year and, wouldn’tcha know it, decided to bring along her love interest as of late John Mayer. Jen was happy to show off the ridic bod that she showed off on the cover of last month’s issue of GQ magazine but this time opted to cover up a bit more with a bikini and towel. Despite turning 40 next month, Aniston told January’s GQ that she had no problem showing some skin. “I feel more comfortable today than I ever did in my twenties or early thirties,” she said. “I am more at peace in my mind and with my body.” Meanwhile, Aniston’s doggy dramedy Marley & Me just topped the box office for a second weekend in a row, earning $24 million. Her ex Brad Pitt’s drama, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, landed in third place with $18.4 million.

Well, you just *knew* that John Mayer was gonna tag along to Cabo if Jen would allow it. She looks amazing. This has to be the highest point in Jen’s life for quite some time now … she’s happily attached, she looks amazing and she is enjoying lots of career success … methinks that 2009 is gonna be a good one for her. She’s already off to a great start!

Jennifer Aniston may have spent her Xmas Even with her BFF Courteney Cox-Arquette and family but it was a different story after Xmas was over. Here are pics of Jen with her beau John Mayer as they tried to slip out unnoticed from a quiet dinner together at Wolfgang last night in LA:

Mayerston spent Xmas apart as John stayed on the East Coast while Jen was chillin’ with the Cox-Arquettes. But, clearly, the pair cannot remain apart for long … they hooked up as soon as they could in SoCal after the Xmas biz was finished. I’m sure the pair were celebrating the release of Jen’s new Xmas movie Marley and Me … and perhaps the news that her movie beat ex-hubby Brad Pitt’s Xmas release The Curious Case of Benjamin Button at the box office … not that anyone was keeping track of such things. Incidentally, both movies set new records for the top 2 highest single-day grossing films to be released on Xmas Day. Not too shabby … methinks that Mayerston will be celebrating all weekend long.
