Back in January we learned that Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem gave birth to their firstborn child, a boy they reportedly named Leo Encinas. In February, the new parents emerged in public together for the first time since their baby was born … but there was no sign of little Leo. Today, Us Weekly magazine brings us our first look at the darling little dude as he makes his public debut with mommy and daddy here in SoCal.

A few weeks ago we learned that Canadian rocker Bryan Adams was honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and today we learn that this week, Spanish actress Penélope Cruz is the latest celeb to be honored on the Walk of Fame. Penélope was joined by her hubby Javier Bardem and her BFF and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides co-star Johnny Deep at the ceremony. Check out some photos and deets from the event below.

And so … the 83rd annual Academy Awards have been handed out, bringing to a close another long awards season. Despite efforts to make the Oscars telecast a “young and hip” affair, this year’s show — IMHO — ended up feeling “old and boring” as usual. BUT, there were some very well-deserved awards handed out last night, tho not many surprises. The biggest award went to The King’s Speech, a British film that ended up with 4 Oscars in total. Inception, which really hasn’t won any major awards all awards season long, tied The King’s Speech with 4 Oscars. The Social Network, once considered a front-runner for Best Picture, ended up with only 3 awards — but one of those Oscars went to my boy Trent Reznor and his collaborator Atticus Ross for Best Original Score. For me, this was an Oscars to remember … but only for Reznor‘s win and not much else.

Two weeks ago we learned that Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem welcomed the birth of their first born child, a boy, here in SoCal and last night the new parents ventured out for a little dinner date together … sans baby. Last night’s outing was the first time the couple were photographed in public since the birth of their niño … who clearly must’ve been at home with the nanny or family member.

Congratulations are in order for happily marrieds Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem because, according to new reports, the couple welcomed the birth of their first child this week. ¡Hola! magazine reports that Penélope and Javier gave birth to a baby boy!!

It’s official, y’all!! After many weeks of curious speculation, a press rep for Penélope Cruz has issued an official statement announcing/confirming that Penélope is, in fact, pregs with her first child! Now, those of you who have been paying attention will note that Penélope has been wearing very loose-fitting, flowy tops for a few months now … it appears that she has been keeping her burgeoning baby bump undercover all the while:

Penélope Cruz is four-and-a-half months pregnant with her first child, her agent said Tuesday … Rumours about the 36-year-old Spanish actress’s pregnancy have been circulating since she married Spanish actor Javier Bardem in July. The couple first got to know each other during the filming of Bigas Luna’s “Jamon, Jamon” in 1992. They worked together again in 2008 in Woody Allen’s “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” which earned the actress an Oscar for best supporting actress the following year.

This is really fantastic news! You may recall that Penélope and new hubby Javier Bardem were secretly wed in the Bahamas in early July and managed to keep the news completely quiet for a few weeks after. I guess the couple decided to just get the pregnancy announcement out of the way sooner rather than later. Awww, congrats!! This couple is normally very private about their affairs, I’m not surprised in the least that they snuck off to tie the knot. I really like them together and think they make the perfect Hispanic couple. The fact that they are both Academy Award winners only makes their union all the more apt. That being said, I really do love these two together … they make a beautiful couple and I would love nothing more than for them to get hitched and start makin’ beautiful Spanish babies ;) Even if the couple are engaged, don’t count on hearing any confirmation at all … I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see if a wedding comes to fruition. Engagements can last years so … don’t hold y’all’s breath just yet.
